Logic in determining package sequence in maintenance planning

Hi,
I have created a performance based strategy, with the package containing 2 cycles and 2 levels of hierarchy.
cycle 1        500H
cycle 2      1000H
So, the package sequence is showing
500H     1000H      1500H     2000H    2500H etc
1           2              1            2           1         etc
When I tested with measuring documents, I noticed that the package due always following the sequence of the cycle 1,2,1,2,1,2, regardless of the the measurement reading. The example I tested with the measuring document is as follows:-
SAP assigned package due in IP10
1st measdoc = 600H                1
2nd measdoc = 1500H              2
3rd measdoc = 2500H              1
4th measdoc = 2520H              2
I thought, based on the packages defined in the strategy, I should be getting the package due as 1,1, 2,1, which is based on the difference between last reading and current reading.
Can someone shed some light on how SAP determine the Package due ?
Thanks !
Lip Huey

Hi Lip,
My start counter for the plan is 0
I schedule the plan in IP10
Now IN IP10 if i see the scheduling list it will show me the following list
Next planned counter reading, total counter reading, and completed counter reading.
So  when you schedule the plan system will calculate what will be the next planned reading for which maintenance will be due that is the column next planned counter reading. in  this case it will be 500
Now i enter a measuring doc for 600.
If i schedule again if you see the above columns it will show next planned reading as 500 but total counter reading as 600.
If you save this system will generate order and if you TECO the order and  schedule again ain IP10 and see the columns
It will show as completed counter reading as 600, next planned counter reading as 1100 and total counter reading as 600.
Next planned counter reading is calculated  as completed counter reading + 500 which is the next package 2 (If you have maintained shift factor late completion as 100%) If the shift factor is not maintained then sys will add 500 to previous planned reading to give next planned reading as 1000.
Please check all parameters in the tab page scheduling parameters in your plan
And for strategies check column hierarchy this will have an effect on what operations from task list are copied to order.

Pankaj

  • Table for Due packages in maintenance plan

    Hi experts,
I have one requirement in Preventive maintenance cycle.
I want the printout of the Operations of preventive maintenance order in our own specified format.
We have developed a new one as per our requirement. But I want to mention which package maintenance order it is in the print out.
    Ex:
I have one maintenance plan with the task list which is having the following packages
    1M, 3M, 6M, 1Y.
After scheduling the plan, i get one filed in the maintenance plan, scheduling call item tab, like
Plan Date  Due Packages, this filed I want in the printout.
I have a logic to get that in reference with the  following field as input from the maintenance order,
    Maintenance Plan
    Maintenance Item,
    Call number.
But I am not able to find the table for the filed DUE_PACKAGES.
Can anyone please help, how to get this field value in the printout.
    Thanks in advance.
If any clarifications required, please revert.
    Regards,
    Praveen B

    Praveen,
The Packages are not transferred to the order in the standard system.
    Two common work-arounds are:
    - Put the Package name in the short or long text of the task list operation
    - Put the Package name in the operation user-fields

  • Maintenance plan package change resulting in incorrect call dates

When we change a maintenance package on an existing maintenance plan to a package whose frequency is not an exact multiple of the previous package (for example, changing from a 6M 180-day package to a 1Y 365-day package) and then restart the plan, the call horizon of the plan seems to be ignored and the new call dates are always a day or so before the plan date regardles
Why is the call horizon being ignored in this situation?

    Hello
Please check the Option Start in Cycle while scheduling the Plan.

  • Maintenance Plan Numbers created by system is out of sequence

    Hi,
I have set the internal no. range of maintenance Plan as 100000000 - 199999999, I found system is generating plan no. as 100000001, 100000002, 100000010, 100000011.
I have also checked the selection criteria on IP15 and IP24,
Please tell me why maintenance plan nos. are being changed (e.g, 100000002, )? how could I handle this?
    Regards,

The jump in number range is usually caused by standard buffering settings.
This topic has been duscussed many times before.
Please seach this forum using "number range" and "buffer"

  • Maintenance Plan Issue

    Dear All,
    I have maintained Strategy with Offset as 6 12 36 76 & 84 Months & no cycle length for the same .
As i wanted to get order only for specific months , now as i schedule the plan the system is creating order for past dates dates also which i don't want .
Tasklist Key Date - 01.01.2006 as we want to upload back date data.
    E.g Start date 01.01.2008
1     29.06.2008                                   HF     New start  Save to call
    2     26.12.2008                                   Y     Scheduled  Save to call
    3     16.12.2010                                   3Y     Scheduled  Save to call
    4     25.11.2014     25.11.2014                 7Y     Scheduled  Hold
Please suggest what setting i have to change.
    Thanks & regards
    Ajay

    Hi,
    1. If u dont want past dates then u can enter restart and enter present /future date ..in start date of the Maintenance Plans ..,IP10 ..
    2. If ur using offset then on scheduling system first calculates planned dates as per offset cycle for each package then goes to the cycle length of the packages .
    3. You can use Hirerachy in strategies in IP11 if u want to avoid unwanted calls , Like 6month call if u do not want to generate on 12th month then hirerachy will be helpful , in this for 12th month u can H2, 6th -H1,same for other packages also
    4. If ur looking for something different u can explore user exit :-IPRM0002 Determine planned date info for maintenance plan

  • Maintenance Plan Rescheduling

    Hi All,
    In a maintenance plan suppose I have four packages i.e. 5000 KM, 15000 KM, 25000 KM & 100000 KM.
For above metioned packages different operations are to be performed. (eg. Service A for 5000 KM , Service B for 15000, Service C for 25000 & Service D for 100000 KM.
    Hierarchies are as follows: 5000 -> H1, 15000 -> H2, 25000 -> H2 & 100000 -> H3.
Now once I create a maintenance plan and after scheduling I am getting correct maintenance due packages.
But I want 'Service A' as a due package after last package i.e. 'Service D', where as I am getting 'Service B'.
Actually as per logic of due packages and hierarchy given its correct. But I always want plan to be restarted i.e. always due package must be 'Service A' after 'Service D'
I can get it by restarting plan but I am looking for something different.
    Please pour your thoughts.
    Sundar

    Hi Thyagrajan,
    Thanks for reply.
At reading 105000 KM service B will be due.
Service B is due because its cycle is of 15000 KM. i.e. 15000, 30000, ...........75000, 90000, 105000 and so on.
Both service A & B gets collapse on 105000 but as Service B has higher hierachy it appears.

  • Preventive maintenance plan scheduling

    Hi gurus,
I want to schedule maintenance plan for a past date by start of cycle field.
But it gives error when I enter a past dateand save it.
Error message is about key date of task list is a new date according to start of cycle.
    Regards,
    Aktolga

No operations can be determined for plan 295 and item 465 for this date
    Message no. IP710
    Diagnosis
There are no operations for the calculated planned date.
At least one task list assigned to a maintenance item for the maintenance plan had not yet been created in the system or was not valid on the calculated planned date or the required start date 26.07.2010 for the order.
The start date of the order is therefore always before the planned date of the call if you work with a preliminary buffer in the maintenance package of the maintenance strategy.
You cannot call the maintenance plan on this date.

  • Management studio error while creating/editing maintenance plan

    Hi,
I had MS SQL 2012 enterprise edition installed and everything was working fine. Later I removed MS SQL 2012 and re-installed. Now when I am trying to create maintenance plan I am getting below error. When I click Yes system allows me to go through the maintenance
plan wizard and create new plan but when I want to edit it give me same error and it doesn't open screen to edit the plans. Can you please provide solution to below error?
    Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
    The 'Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration.DtsPackage, Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration, Version=11.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' package did not load correctly.
The problem may have been caused by a configuration change or by the installation of another extension. You can get more information by running the application together with the /log parameter on the command line, and then examining the file 'C:\Users\pac\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\AppEnv\10.0\ActivityLog.xml'.Continue
    to show this error message?
    Yes   No
I tried repair option from MS SQL 2012 setup but it didn't solve the problem. This is my production system and it has TFS 2013 and it's database. Please let me know how severe this problem is? Is it something to be worried about in future? How do I solve
    this error?
    Regards, Premal Acharya

    Hi Michelle,
Thanks for your reply. I resolved this issues yesterday by installing SQL Server
Management Tools Complete. I suspect that
    Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration.DtsPackage, Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration
DLL files were having issues. When I searched my system I could only find Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration.DLL and
    Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration.DtsPackage.DLL file was missing.
When I re-ran the MS SQL setup to add new feature I selected Management Tools Complete and after installation this error was resolved. Though this has solved the issue for now I feel the error shouldn't have come with Management Tools -
Basic installation as I had installed MS SQL Server before with Management Tools - Basic and it had worked without any issues.
For now this issue is resolved but it will be of good help if I can know the cause of this error and what could be the possible solution.
    Thanks.

  • Error when running Maintenance plan

    Hi,
I get this error when I double click on our Maintenance Plan in Management Studio. Any Ideas?

    Hi duncanwarrender,
According to your description, you get errors when double-clicking on the Maintenance Plan. Based on my research, this issue could be due to that DTS Package is corrupt or missing. You could follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.
1.Uninstall Management tools. In Control Panel, click Uninstall a program, click Microsoft SQL Server (for example, Microsoft SQL Server 2012(64-bit)) and click Remove. Select a instance and then select the feature 'Management tools' to uninstall.
2.Reinstall the following features from SQL Server setup, make sure that the installation of these tools complete successfully.
    a. SQL Server data tools
    b. Client tools SDK
    c. Client tools backwards compatibility
    d. Management tools-complete

  • Single Maintenance plan creation for multiple equipemnts with different cyc

    Dear Experts,
I had a following scenario to map in PM module. can anybody guide me to map this process?
we had no.of equipments under one functional location and will go through preventive maintenance on yearly basis. For this, i will create the single cycle yearly maintenance plan which comprices of maintenance items, which is fine. out of these equipments some of the equipments will go for routine maintenance like quarterly, half-yearly, tri-quarterly. user want to club these scenarios also in single preventive maintenance plan. when we scdule this plan, system has to deliver monthly orders and as well as yearly orders from single preventive maintenance plan.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Krishna

    Hi Krishna Murthy,
It can be acheived in the following Manner.
Create a Strategy say "Test" with Packages 1M, 2M,Q,H,Y packages.
Create 5(say) Equipment Task Lista for each of the 5 Equipment at that FL.
1st Task List will have Operations related to say Monthly(1M), Quartely(Q), yearly (Y)
2nd Task List will have Operations related to say Monthly(1M), Quartely(H), yearly (Y)
And so on... as per Business Requirement.
Now create a Maintenance Plan with 5 maintenance Items with respective Task Lits.
Now Schedule the Plan and give the Last Completion date as the Yearly package (A date one year less than the day you wanetd the yearly plan).
    Then check the calls.

  • Any FM to calculate planned costs for a Maintenance plan

    Hi all,
Is there any FM to calculate planned costs for an Maintenance plan.
I can use report RISTRA30(IP31). but i need to use for multiple multiple Mplans and different time frames. using SUBMIT to this report and getting data will lead to performance in my actual report.
Please do provide any FM's or any other pointers for the same.
    warm regards,
    Sumanth

    Dear,
In maintenance plan you can speciefy - order type, task list type, task list group & counter.
when system automatically create service/maintenance order then system will determine plan cost, but for this you have to maintain planned price by t-code KP26.
And then you can see report by IP31
