Logic Issues after Lion Install, anybody know any way to fix?

Does anyone have an ETA On this?

Check with Logic when they will have a version that works with Lion.

If you don’t have Logic Pro 9 or Logic Express 9, don’t upgrade to Lion.

  • Microphone issue after Lion install

    Hi there.
I have an iMac 27'', early 2010 (the last version before the core i3/i5/i7 came out) and it works basically fine with everything, just as it did since I got it. Now, after Lion's install, the overral performance seems a wee bit better, even while gaming (World of Warcraft and some others), altho for me and my wife, some "laggy situations" have been causing some sluggish camera turns that didnt happen at all, before (and some situations do lag more then before, but oh well).
But the real "issue" is that both our microphones just stopped working (my wife uses a Macbook Pro 17'' mid 2009). I did read about some issues with microphones in Lion and some of it being related to usage of external audio and microphones etc, but both machines here use the basics... Built in sound and microphones, since *ever*.
What's buggin me the most is that the Microphone itself seems to be working "fine", since whe I go the System Preferences and try to calibrate it, the meters seem to be working just as perfectly as before, but pretty much every 3rd party application I use that has a microphone element (mainly Teamspeak3, but also Ventrilo, Skype, Raidcal...) cant seem to "find" the microphone.
Trying to calibrate it within these programs doesnt even move the bars, as if there was no microphone. Also tried to plug in an external mic, but that didnt do any good.
Not sure if any one has been experiencing issues like those (all the applications have been totally removed and reinstalled from scratch) but I do know some people that have similar systems and after installing Lion, didnt get any of those cases of "bad mics"...
Well, I appreciate the help and thanks in advance to everyone.
    Att,
    Gustavo Gonzalez.

Hi guys, I am getting crazy about my microphone not working in lion. I think it's a conflict problem or whatelse. In my case my system was a Tiger->Leopard->SnowLeopard->Lion, changing each time I was buying a new mac...so I'm afraid this could cause some mess...I don't know..
ANYWAY: waiting for a solution "seriously made by apple", I found a naive solution:
YOU NEED THE HEADPHONES OF YOUR iPHONE, like these:
    http://store.apple.com/it/product/MB770G/B
and, I guess, a recent mac. In my case I have a brand new MacBook Pro.
The connector of these headphones has 3 channels, I guess 2 are for stereo and 1 for microphone, and perhaps the jack connector of the new macs can work with it.
Simply connect them to the headphones connector and forget about the microphone.
    In my case IT WORKED.
Ok, it's not a solution, but it's letting me to have my skype phone-co, at least.
    Waiting for something better.

  • My MacBook Pro is running very hot after lion install.  Are there any hardware changes that will help? What can I do to get it back to normal?

My MacBook Pro is running very hot after lion install.  Are there any hardware changes that will help? What can I do to get it back to normal?

I get the impression that most of the users on older hardware experiences similar temperature issues on Lion for a long time now. Awaiting for confirmation from the original poster.
In the meantime I'm just cautious with regards to pushing the machine to such extreme temps, since something tells me such behaviour which includes monitor flickering and the likes is nothing but abnormal for any type of use...
Any clues if 10.7.5 does anything on this? If not I'm afraid i see myself going back to SL for good...

  • Any solution to DVD drive issue post Lion install yet?

Any solution to DVD drive issue post Lion install yet?

Since installing Lion no DVDs are being read by the superdrive, this is a problem that has been highlighted by quite a lot of people.
    CDs are being read fine.
After inserting the DVD there is some noise, sounds like it is trying to pickup the DVD then spits it back out.

After installing Lion, iMovie09  no longer sees my Canon AVCHD.  It finds photos. Anybody found a way to fix this?

Is that with the camera directly connected or with the card in a card reader?
I haven't tried in a while, but I know it worked in Lion at some point. I did all my uploading with a card reader, so that may be the difference.

  • Office not starting after Lion install - PowerPC issues?

I have an Intel MacBook Pro (Intel Core 2 duo)
It was running OK on Snow Leopard.
I had Office (do not remember exactly which version, but recent).
After Lion installing, I cannot open any more any of the Office applications.
This is the message I get
You can't open the application Microsoft Excel because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.
What is worse is that not even the Microsoft Autoupdater opens up as well.
I never used a powerpc chip. I am surprised to read in the System Information that this is the setup for Excel
    Microsoft Excel:

As the last line (above) states, you are using Office 2004, and that will not run on Lion, upgrade to Office 2011 or Open Office or Neo Office or Libre Office.

  • Time Machine not working after Lion install

After Lion install at first Time Machine would not back up-then it did, but backed up the entire HD-now Time Machine will no longer function in trying to retrieve any data from Mail or anything else

After consulting with maker of back up drive (LaCie) I opted to format the drive. Lost some stuff but nothing critical. I then backed up and now all appears to be working, i.e drive is backing up and Time Machine is now functioning.

  • No sound in garageband after Lion install.

No sound in garageband after Lion install, can anybody help please?

12 hours ago my midi played through Garageband with no problems. Today it does not play. The Garageband window shows that the keys are being played.
In the moments following I turned on iTunes and all was fine so I burned a disc in my usual factory installed burner, late 2008 iMac, and the message was "no disc burner found". I turned iTunes on and off and same message. Ran Disc Utility and no flags. I am using the Disc Utility that is on my desktop. Is there a hidden Lion disc utility? Nothing worked unless there is a hidden function.
I was able to burn using Toast. This would indicate that the problems is with iTunes 10, OS 10.7.1

  • Security and privacy system preferences not working after Lion install.  What to do?

Security and privacy system preference not working after Lion install.  Not sure if it happen with Lion installer or after updating. What to do?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” (without the quotes) and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
Copy or drag — do not type — the line below into the Terminal window, then press return:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}'
Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered (the text, please, not a screenshot.) You can omit the final line ending in “$”.
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix)|edu\.mit|org\.(amavis|apache|cups|isc|ntp|postfix|x)/{print $3}'
This time, you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
    Step 3
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|edu\.mit|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}'
    Step 4
    ls -1A /e*/mach* {,/}L*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts 2> /dev/null
Important: If you synchronize with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting.
    Step 5
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item' 2> /dev/null
Remember, steps 1-5 are all drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, whichever you prefer — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.

  • I can't find iSync after lion install

I can't find iSync after lion install. I try too sync with my N8 Nokia. The program iSync dont appear in program mapp.

It's Apple's software not yours and as shown by it's exclusion on the OS X Lion pages is not part of the new OS. Upgrading to Lion is optional.
It's a trivial matter to copy it back from your Snow Leopard backup, but using it under Lion is not supported at all and WILL stop working sooner or later.
Why would it be sensible for Apple to include software in their new OS that they know will stop working?

  • IPhoto 8.1.2 Double Library File After Lion Install

Hi, After Lion install I'v got a double iPhoto Library File in iPhoto 8.1.2 whil I have only one library.
Is this normal ? Is there a way to get rid of one of the two files or to combine them ? On other Macs only one file shows up.
    See screenshots.
In the Finder only one iPhoto Library appear in the images file.
This is the content of the IPhoto Library package :

That's an issue with the Dock. I would trash the Dock caches. I would post on the Using Mac OS X forum for more on that.

  • Does anybody know any software for creating and reading PDF-417 to be integrated in my vi?

Hi, I want to generate PDF-417 from mi vi. After that I want to scan a PDF-417 with a scanner and I want to decode it. Does anybody know any solution to integrate with LabView?
    Thanks.

    Antonio,
I don't know much about the PDF 417 however there are some examples on NI's site about generating barcodes in LabVIEW.
How Do I Generate a Barcode in LabVIEW?
In addition you can use the IMAQ software etc to read in barcodes if you don't have a scanner. If you do have a scanner then I imagine it has software and some sort of interace that you could use LabVIEW to read data. It may even have a serial connection and you could use all the VISA Serial VIs in LabVIEW to get the data.
