Second, when I quit Live (before Logic), I get an error message from Logic saying it has to unexpectedly close and then Live freezes....

hi fatmonkeyryit,
On core adio preferemce set the Rewire Behaviour to "live mode"

you MUST quit Live for first in order to avoid that problem
Slave application MUST be closed before quitting Logic

  • Rewire problems!

    hello,
i have a mac pro, logic pro, ableton live, and i want to use live in rewire with logic, becouse live is a great program but it's too heavy for the cpu, if i mix with that. than i want to use live in rewire with logic, becouse live, with just its plug ins, is light and logic too. the cpu is at 10%, with just live is at 50%.
but the problem is that i have A LOT of problems in rewire. the tracks peaks are not the same between live and logic. i have put the panning law to 0 (i have also try with -3 but with that all the mono tracks are too low (or maybe the stereo? i don't remember) with 0 i have to put a free G (sonalksis) plug in to change the panning law only on stereo tracks..
but the peaks are different too, maybe of just a db or two, or .db, but are different. (not all)
and i have a lot of delay problems, and "system is not able to process all data in time" in logic errors, but the cpu is at 10%.
    i don't know.
there's anyone that mix with logic and live in rewire without problems? i want to leave the tracks on live and than load the plug ins in logic, becouse i use also a lot of live plug ins, but i want to use also third party plug ins and maybe logic plug ins..
    what i can do?
    any suggestion?
    bye
    mattian

uhm, i can't also recording audio from live to logic via rewire. i enable all recs on tracks than i push rec in logic, logic starts, but any file audio is recorded.. why?

You can try putting the iPhone into DFU mode and see if that will let you restore and remove the jailbreak:
    http://osxdaily.com/2010/06/24/iphone-dfu-mode-explained-and-how-to-enter-dfu-mo de-on-your-iphone/
Some jailbreaks cannot be removed and in some cases will permanently disable your iPhone. If that happens to you, then you will have to buy a new iPhone; Apple will provide no support, warranty or out-of-warranty, for a jailbroken iPhone.
You're on your own from here. We can provide no further help with a jailbroken iPhone in these forums.
    Good luck.

  • Streaming Logic Live with another studio

    Hey,
I am constantly doing minor tweaks after I finish a Major mix and it would be handy if i could find a possible way to stream my logic live with another studio. This was not only could the person hear exactly what I am doing but also have the ability to control it. I have tried Virtual Glass but that is having a lot of issues and does not seem to work and Teamviewer is great for controlling but sound does not work and when you run major programs like Logic 9 Pro it just crashs at the other end.
So if anyone else knows a way possible for me to stream my Logic Pro 9 arrangement with someone else please let me know!
    Thank you

The only way I could see this working is using the same Logic project on both location and lock the remote system. You could experiment with Euphonix Eucon ethernet protocol to remote control the slave, but you would need their interface (MC control / Mix). I know that Steinberg have (or had) their platform remotely working and users to exchange files and sync. both machines. May be someone else has some better ideas...

  • Recording Logic live?

I'm using Logic more for some composition and one of the things I love it for is looping segments. Is there another utility I can use to record audio out of Logic that would be super simple to setup? I could do it all in Logic, I realize but it just takes so long to cut the segments, add another track, loop it, automate filters, etc. A lot of times I don't want to preserve anything for posterity, I just want to record the tracks looping and automate things live.
I'm looking for something that can record in the background with while screwing around with parameters in Logic live. Simple, and dirty. Thanks!!
There was a utility I once used called AudioCorder but I think it will only record from the microphone.

Got it working with Cycling 74's Soundflower and Audio Hijack. If anyone is interested, I can let you know how to set it up.

  • Rewire: Logic + Live then Logic + Reason = No Sound

    Hey,
Can anyone explain to me, why if I open up Ableton Live 5.2 to work on something it then has an effect on my ability to rewire Logic and Reason together.
For example, I wanted to timestrech a track, so I opened it in Ableton, did the work and rendered the finished vocal as a wav file. I then closed Ableton and opened Logic, then reason to put them into rewire mode (reported as being in rewire mode in reason).
The problem is I only get sound from Logic, no sound comes through from Reason.
The only way I can tell to fix this problem is to delete all the rewire files in the library folders.
Can anyone help me out with this annoying and ongoing problem??

This is an annoying one, we know...
It definitely sounds like your Logic environment is not set up correctly to get the audio from Reason.
    Please verify your settings here:
    http://www.propellerheads.se/
clicking on ReWire (it's in the left side bar).
Is there a specific reason why you want that "finished vocal" run through Reason?
Since you saved said file as .wav, why not use "Audio Import" in Logic and put it in your Logic song arrange window?

  • Logic Express 7.2 Rewire Problem

I have only had this problem since getting 7.2. Whenever I set a channel up to Rewire, I can only hear the sound from the channel while the song is playing. Used to, I could play my keyboard and hear sounds from Reason while in Logic. I don't know what is going on. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Mikal

This is definitely a Logic bug. I solved the problem with a workaround. Here's how to make it happen if anyone else is having this problem.
    Reason Rewire Fix
    Do in this order
If none exists in the current song, create an internal Logic synth instrument channel.
Select a Logic synth on an instrument track (make sure any instrument in Reason is unselected on the Reason side) and play a few notes with a midi keyboard or the capslock keyboard.
If needed, start transport and then stop and check to make sure sound still plays when transport stopped.
Once sound is heard on the Logic internal synth, you should be able to select a rewire track and it should play all the time, even when transport is stopped.
I'm surprised Apple/Emagic doesn't know about this. I sincerely hope they fix it in the next upgrade. I've spent dozens of hours of troubleshooting to get to this point, but I can make it work now every time, without exeption. I can reproduce the problem and the fix every time.

  • GB 3, Reason 3 Rewire problems

Does anyone know yet why these two aren't rewiring together properly?
I read the thread that suggested working around the problem by deleting the Ableton folder from the application support folder, but I use Ableton Live 5 and Reason extensively. I was hoping to be able to use GarageBand (and Logic's audio engine) as a mixdown tool. So, in light of that, deleting the Ableton app support folder isn't an option for me.
Has anyone at all gotten rewire to work with GB 3 and Reason/Live?
    thanks!
    peace,
    rahlo

    Hi Rahlo,
I'm a GB2/Reason user, and haven't had any trouble with ReWire (ver. 1.5.4), once I remember to start GB first, then Reason.
I've had a look into the Propellerheads forum ( http://www.propellerheads.se ) and it doesn't look like there's much current info there. One guy asked a similar question, but he's right on-the-edge: CoreDuo machine, Reason 3.0.5, Tiger... and he's asking if there's anyone with ReWire probs on that system I think an answer for him might be about 3 months away, when people catch up with him.
Even so, I think your best bet would be to try Propellerheads, either via support network or forums. An Abelton/Reason/GB mix sounds like fairly advanced tool-mixing, and fiddling with compatibility with one app could alter the performance of another.
But heck - Lots of rabbits have been pulled out of hats in this forum too

  • Logic live outputs pops intermittently?

Using Logic Pro in a live setting in church concerts, I'm getting random pops in my main FOH output, and I cannot pinpoint the reason, unless I am just taxing my laptop's capacity. Anyone else with experience on a G4 over-taxing the CPU and getting pops or clicks?
    Here's the problem:
Maybe half a dozen times during the 2 hour concert, I will hear a minor pop in the FOH output, usually during music. Sometimes it happens just after I slightly change the EQ on the main output, sometimes it happens when I haven't touched the computer for 30 seconds or so. It appears to be almost random.
    Here's my setup:
Using Logic with iBook G4 (1GB RAM) and MOTU Ultralite Firewire audio mixer doing live, single mic gospel concerts. Using iTunes to playback .aif stereo tracks, and using Shure wireless mic and wireless IEM monitors. Pretty simple setup, 1 mic, 1 stereo feed from iTunes (going out to MOTU Output 7-8, then analog patch cords to MOTU Input 7-8). Two stereo outputs, FOH and IEM. Using Aux objects as inputs, buses to get to SpaceDesigner reverb and IEM output mix. Doing some EQing on mic, IEM and FOH output, plus compression on mic. Using 128 cache to keep latency unnoticeable.
Using the System Performance window, it is using just over 1/2 of the CPU capacity. If I turn Space Designer off, I am using an 1/8 of the CPU. I am not recording, nor moving the timeline at all. I use iTunes instead of laying the tracks end to end in the Arrange window so that I can freely choose between over 50 songs at the whim of the singer. And, it sounds great, and easier to carry than the 01V I was flying with.
Of course, I have no other apps running other than iTunes and Logic Pro and Stickies. But, the CPU capacity monitor being over 1/2 makes me nervous.
Based on the answers to this query, I am considering getting a MacBook Pro for the increased CPU, as well as bigger screen. But, if it doesn't solve the pops, I will have spent $3,000 for naught.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
    Rod-mixing live on a trackpad

    Here's the problem:
Maybe half a dozen times during the 2 hour concert, I
will hear a minor pop in the FOH output, usually
during music. Sometimes it happens just after I

    Couple of questions....
Do you get the pops with Space Designer off?
SD has to process a lot of info and traditionally, laptops
don't have as efficient a bus system. If not using Space Designer clears up your problem then you pretty much know that the ibook's bus system just can't handle it.
But first!! try another player than ITunes. ITunes is not the most efficient file player around.
Also, if you do have to use another reverb, try using a couple of Logic's verbs, say a Platinum and a Gold. Sometimes using two lesser quality reverbs at lower settings can produce wonderful results.

  • Why does Logic have valitadion problems with soem AU's?

    Hello,
I have a number of AU's I use in Garageband that work fine but Logic 9 won't load them saying it cannot validate them. Also on a seperate note after I updated to Snow Leopard yesterday a few more AU's would not validate?
Are there validation solutions to this problem?
    Thanks

I've just purchased the upgrade from SP1 to SP2. Downloaded the new version. Updated my iLok account and synchronized iLok. I'm using MacBook with 10.5.7 and Logic Pro (9), 2.4 GHz Intel Duo, 2GB Ram. When I go to Logic preferences to update AU validations it shows SP2 validated, but when I apply the plugin to a channel in Logic, it says my iLok is not authorized and it automatically prompts me to "re-authorize" SP2 and takes me through the iLok authorization process again.
On this same laptop, I also have Cubase 4, Ableton Live, and Pro Tools M-Powered installed. SP2 will open just fine as a VST in all of the above applications except Logic 9. Ableton also has the option of using either AU or VST. If the choose the AU version in Ableton, it also prompts me to authorize my iLok. It seems to me it is an AU issue since the VSTs are working fine. Any help would be appreciated. By the way, SP2 is Speakerphone2 from Audio Ease.

  • I just upgraded my Ram to 8 gigabytes, hoping that would solve a problem in loading Logic X. The problem started when I had Logic X on my laptop and tried to open Logic X on my desktop. Since then, Logic X will not open on my desk top.

Logic X is installed on my desktop and my laptop. I had Logic X open on my desktop as I was backing up my music, and accidentally accessed some Logic music that had been stored on my desktop. Logic X works fine on the laptop, but freezes during installation on the desktop. I increased my Ram to 8 gigs, but the problem is still there.
Also, Ableton Live 9 Suite has the same problem...
Could it be that my version of Logic X has been corrupted and that I need to re-load it...and how do you do that since it has already been downloaded???
    Oh, I have Yosemite 10.10.2...

I found out that I had a panic kernelling problem...and it had to do with audio plug ins. The cause of this was that I was trying to make more room on my computer and deleted a lot of files, which caused the headache. I re-loaded the software that came with the computer...that is when I saw the kernel problem...and then, I called Apple support because my computer then locked up. I was able to restore the computer from a previous backup...however, the problem that I created took almost all day and late into the evening to correct. Now that everything is up and running, I decided not to try to delete any more files, and will back up my work whenever I can.
By the way, what is the LPX program and how does that work?

  • Help needed using multiple midi controllers with logic as rewire master

Hi all, i've been using logic 8 for a while now and have finally settled down after learning lots of digital production theory, to sorting my studio setup and start producing for real.
My setup includes 1 24" iMac 2.56ghz with profire610 interface, 1 behringer bcf2000, 1 mpk61, 1 apc40 and I'm using logic 8 with reason 5 and live 8 rewired and have recently brought in the komplete 7, sylenth and max5 plug-ins. My aim is to assign the behringer to logic to control it's tracks in the mixer, the apc40 with ableton (obviously!) and the keyboard switching between all three daws but more importantly keeping the mpc pads for the kong drum designer in reason.
Am I right in thinking logics environment section can offer me a workable option to get complete routing control over the midi messaging between the controllers and the daws??
    Have I explained myself right?
Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance

and I forgot to mention I'd like to be able to send and recieve audio and midi between the 3 daws like using one to sequence another and say be able to export midi/audio to ableton and start it playing.
I also dj so I would ultimately prefer to be creating and compiling drum and synth loops and easily pass them to ableton whether in the studio or at a gig.

  • Logic Pro 9 problems with 10.7.4

    Hello!
When I work with Logic Pro 9 (9.1.7) and OS X Lion 10.7.4 - Logic crashes and freezes about 2-3 times a day. Never have I noticed this situation before.
Maybe I should install Combo Update of OS X?
I need it to live performances and propably I should come back to Snow Leopard?
    I have MBP 15 (early 2011)
    Anybody knows the problem??

I'm having similar problems with Logic Pro Studio 8 after I updated to 10.7.4 last night. I can work for about 15 to 20 minutes and then Logic freezes and I have to Force Quit. Logic was relatively fine in Lion up until now, even though there are odd slider bar behaviors, which I'm learning to live with. Freezing is an issue that I can't live with. Yikes!
In the particular song I'm working on there are no 3rd party plug-ins being used. All native Logic stuff.

  • Rewire problem...

First off I want to apologize coz I'm sure this type of topic has been discussed in length before, but I have looked everywhere and cant find a suitable answer. Basically, I'm an avid reason (2.5) user and I just purchased Logic express 7 today but i
can't seem to get the 2 apps to interact, upon launching Logic first and reason second, reason does not automatically turn to slave mode but just stays at core audio, nor is there any sign of a reason option in Logic. Im stumped. Hopefully I'm just doing something stupid but I would appreciate any help Thanks

i am not able to use reason 3.0.5 with logic 7.2...
logic dont even read the fact that there is a rewire
program .. this problem also exists in garage band..
    please help!!!!!!

  • Logic Board Battery Problem: Symptoms and Consequences

    Hello everyone!
When I cold start my Mac - a 1.67 GHz PowerPC G4 - I get a pop up window with the following message:
"Your computer's clock is set to a date before March 24th 2001. This may cause some applications to behave erratically. Please use the Date & Time preference panel to set the clock manually. For more information, choose Mac Help from the Help menu."
I've been getting this message since I first got the machine this past November, but since the system clock is automatically set by the network (right after the message gets generated), I just close the window and get on with the rest of my day. However, I finally decided to call Apple Tech Support about it. They told me the symptoms indicate that the battery on the logic board has gone bad and if I want to get the battery replaced I need to send my machine to Apple to have this done.
Since it would be a major inconvenience for me to send the machine out for repair, I am wondering what additional functionality this battery performs. I am willing to live with getting this message every time I cold start the machine, but would not want to rung the risk of a major malfunction occurring as a result of not replacing the battery.
So - I am wondering, does anyone know what functionality this battery performs in addition to running the system clock? Also, what might be the consequences of neglecting to replace this battery?
All opinions are greatly appreciated 8-)

Well, that begins to narrow it down... 12", 15", etc.?
    Again, what exact model PowerBook?
    I use "exact" literally.
Perhaps this KB article will help.
It may well be the case that your PB has to be returned for an internal battery replacement, since there is no replacement listed for it in this previously-cited document. However, I'd be very surprised by that and can find no documentation to either support or deny their claim. You may want to call them back to double-check this.
There are some Mac portable models that do not have an internal battery, aka a "backup battery." Those Macs use a capacitor, rather than a battery, to maintain PRAM while the main battery is swapped.
I'm beginning to wonder if there's some confusion with AppleCare w.r.t. the terms "backup battery" vs. "capacitor" after reading the last paragraph of this KB article. If there is a capacitor problem, then you PB would have to be returned for service.
    Good luck!
