Logic made MP3 with copyright added with Logic ?

Where is this copyright info human viewable?
It doesn't show with iTunes, it doesn't show with QuickTime.
What am I taking about?
From the bounce dialog, make an MP3 and eidit the ID3 tags
and put in a copyright notice at the copyright annotation line.
"2006 BlahBlah"
Then when the MP3 is created.
Open it in iTunes and do a command i, it dose not show any © info.
You know the © is in there because you put it in there with Logic.
Open the MP3 in QuickTime and do a command i, or command j.
it shows no copyright annotation information.
But you know the © is in there somewhre because you put it in
with Logic Pro !
So, why is logic add copyright if you can not see it in any
other Apple software?
Or, what software can view the copyright you put in with Logic?
PowerBook G4 1GHz   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

To help explaine, here are some visual example of what I am talking about and looking for.
Please load this image...
http://www.screenlands.com/logic/ID3-tags-no-copyright.gif
I am wanting to simply enter a date stamp in the copyright area, something
such as "2001 TEXT" and be able to view that info in other Apple apps to
know what is the date of the recording.
But as you will see at the image above, Logic is supposedly entering
all the info, but QuickTime is not showing the copyright field and is in fact
ingoring it and giving the option to add a new, blank copyright annotation.
And, in iTunes the copyright date comes up WRONG.
(i put 1996 with Logic and iTunes displays 2006 )
And, if open up the MP3 in the text editor TextEdit, there is no where to be
found any info of "1996" so I am now going to conclude that LogicPro is
NOT writing any copyright date ID3tag at all.
Well this *****.
LogicPro is also allowing to write ID3 tags that are not viewable with anything
but TextEdit.
(lyricist, interpreted/remixed by, publisher, producer)
I guess I'll just put the date stamp (copyright) in the "subtitle" field.
That way, in quicktime, it will show title with date under, then artist.

  • Is logic pro 9.1.8 stable with OSX 10.7?

I run Logic pro 9.1.8 with OSX 10.6.8 on an external hard drive and it runs smooth as anything. Very stable, never misses a beat.
The reason i have an external as my boot drive is because I updated my internal drive from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion, and had continuous issues with stability when using logic. It would randomly crash, get stuck on loop with no response at all, crash when using certain 3rd party audio components, the list goes on.
So once i'd had enough I decided to get an external and start over.
I have native instruments komplete 8, and am wanting to upgrade to komplete 9, but alas, the update to Komplete 9 is not compatible with anything prior to OSX 10.7 (********).
So after a few weeks of researching and procrastinating, im still undecided as whether to update to OSX 10.7.
I don't know if it is stable with logic 9.1.8 because when i previously updated, i went straight from Snow leopard to mountain lion.
Soooo if anyone out there can help me out with any advice regarding logic 9.1.8 stability with OSX 10.7, that would be awesome

How do i sort this out!? It is very frustrating as the main reason i have bought  a mac is to use logic! Any help would be great as i am a complete novice when it comes to Macs!

You're probably on OS X Lion?
I had the same problem as you. I used Software Update to update Logic Express to the latest version, and then it ran without any problems.

  • I bought Logic Studio from a pawn shop with Pro Tools and an iLok. It didn't include the serial numbers, which I thought were on the iLok. Is their any way to us this as an upgrade from like eBay?

Can I buy a used version of Pro Tools with the serial numbers from eBay, then istall Pro Tools and Logic I bought from a pawn shop using them as an upgrade?

If it sounds fishy, it probably is. Serial numbers from eBay typically don't work, because they are stolen, reused, etc. Logic Pro has nothing to do with iLok. And Apples doesn't offer cross-grades or upgrades anymore. If you want their software you go to the Mac App Store application and buy it. That's the only way.

  • Latest OS X version Logic 7.1.1 is compatible with?

I'm working with an Apogee Ensemble that says it wants Logic 7.2.2 and OS X 10.4.7, but I'm reluctant to update my solid OS X 10.4.5. Do I absolutely need to?

Thanks, but actually my question is entirely different.
The Ensemble software asks for Logic 7.2 and OS X 10.4.7; I have Logic 7.1.1 and OS X 10.4.5.
Since I don't have Logic 7.2, the installer is out of luck. But I could update to OS X 10.4.7 - if Logic 7.1.1 works with it; if it doesn't, I couldn't do that either.
So my question is what the latest OS X version Logic 7.1.1 is compatible with.

  • TS2567 Logic Express 9.1.8  compatible with Mountain Lion?

I have just upgraded to Mountain Lion OSX 10.8.2 and am having some weird issues with Logic Express 9.1.8.  Are the two incompatible?  Or could my slightly outdated M-Audio Firewire 410 be the problem?  I've updated the M-Audio driver, but I think it's still an old version....

To answer my own question, the problem is with M-Audio, not Logic Express.  The latest M-Audio driver does not equip the Firewire 410 to deal with Mountain Lion.  Strangely, one of the older ones seems to cope just fine.  If anyone else has these problems try this driver, which is meant to be for Mac OS 10.6.8 64-Bit, Mac OS 10.6.8 32-Bit, Mac OS 10.7.4:
    http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support.drivers&f=1229
Fingers crossed that M-Audio will eventually get round to updating their drivers properly.

Soooo if anyone out there can help me out with any advice regarding logic 9.1.8 stability with OSX 10.7, that would be awesome

LP 9.1.8 tends to be less stable with Lion compared to ML so i would stick with the original combo of 10.6.8 and 9.1.8 if i were you... though of course that may prevent you updating to Komplete 9 though according to several forum posts, Komplete 9 will run under 10.6.8 without issue even though it is not officially supported...
    http://www.gearslutz.com/board/music-computers/851152-komplete-9-anyone-using-os x-10-6-8-a.html
If you are upgrading from an earlier version you shouldn't have an issue but if you try and install Komplete 9 from scratch, the installer will not allow you to do so under 10.6.8 it seems..
However, back to your original question... it depends on what is causing the instability in the first place as I ran 9.1.8 under ML without issue here.... though imho, the most stable combination of LP9 and OS X is, for me at least, 9.1.5 and 10.6.8
Usually such instability is caused by driver problems with OS X rather than LP itself..  but some people suffered from graphic lag running under Lion and ML so again, it depends on what sort of instability you are refering to as to what may or may not be best for you.

Hi I have just bought a mac book pro 2ghz 8gb ram with haswell.also it's running maverick. I am wanting to start using logic but does it work ok with maverick everything I read says it's no good please help

Which version of Logic? I have 9, but I've yet to install it. I'm just creating the images of the disks atm to install them on my Haswell. Will let you know how that performs.
Logic 10 would most certainly work fine though.

  • Why is logic pro only showing 8 inputs with core audio?

I use Logic Pro and Pro Tools HD TDM and I have 2 audio interfaces with a total of 20 analog inputs.  It seems that in Logic, I can only access 8 inputs. I suspect this has something to do with core audio and logic but there has to be a way around this that allows me to use all 20 inputs right?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Too bad you're not running an earlier version of Pro Tools, prior to 8.03 or you could use your system under DAE and have access to the HD system in Logic, or at least in some versions of Logic 9.
    http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Compatibility/en363063
You will be limited to 8 ins under core audio as I recall... this is due to Avid's core audio driver.

  • What version of Leopard with what version of Logic is MOST STABLE??

A very simple question really. What version of Leopard, as of now, is the most stable and glitch-free with which version of Logic?? 10.5.1 vs. 10.5.2 vs. L7.2.3 vs. L8.??
    Thanks,
    Jeremy
<edited by host - see [Terms of Use section 2.6.3|http://discussions.apple.com/help.jspa#terms]>

Leopard 10.5.2 had introduced many problems, I'd say 10.5.1 is therefor the stable (or safer) one.
As for Logic, I think LP8 as a universal app is more at home with Intel Macs, but otherwise it's not that simple and you can read plenty opinions on this board on both sides.
I'd still go with LP8, people go back to L7 as last resort when something is not running well.
