Logic needs a better integration for hardware sinthesizers like Emagic - SoundDiver was!

I work with a community of about 50 logic users in Germany and nearly all of them love to use some of the old hardware machines from Roland, Korg, Akai and so on.
In the past there was a program from Emagic called "SoundDiver". Sound Diver was a program who integrated all well known hardware synthesizers in to logic that a logic user was able to edit (with read, write, automation!!) the programs and sounds in SoundDiver and Logic.
SoundDiver was the bridge between Logic and the hardware synthesizers. Especially for the old hardware with midi function was SoundDiver the best program on the market to integrate your hardware in to logic.
The most important point was that SoundDiver did all this great work by saving time for us as Logic user.
Our Logic User community agrees that Logic Studio 10 needs a better integration for hardware Synthesizers and especially for the old ones. SoundDiver was the best feature for this.
Apple: Please integrate the Sound Diver in to Logic 10!!! You will see, all professional and semi professional users will love it and you will have a big benefit in comparison to Cubase and ProTools.
The current way to work with logic and hardware synthesizers needs to much time and it is not ideal.

Sound diver was really cool, but it's not working in modern OS. If Apple will try to add it's functionallity , it has to rewrite this soft completely. But even in this case they could not support a big variety of old hardware. I would be happy if I have a little bit more functions in external midi instrument track. I also tried to replace Sound Diver with MIDI Quest AU plugin, but it does not work well with my old Virus.

Does Logic Pro support Synth librarian function as once did emagic SoundDiver?

I once could edit the patches on my Kurz K2000 using emagic SoundDiver operating under Windows communicating via MIDI sysex commands. The Synth still works magnificently with great sounds. Since SoundDiver was sold to Apple a decade ago, does Logic now do everything that SoundDiver did? Thanks.

Thanks for your response. Disappointing. I guess SoundDiver set out to serve every bit of MIDI hardware ever sold and that would involve a huge effort just to maintain it. Nonetheless, it's a pity Apple didn't figure out how to maintain some continuity --- a subset of what SoundDiver did. Same old, same old. Corporate takeover then shutdown.
What do Synth users do now? i.e. if it's all in software, can you describe in a sentence or two how one might go about achieving the same thing now, even using the K2000 as a controller? Thanks.

Need a Data Integration for multiple ERP systems

We are doing some research into a data integration layer to our BW 7.3/BOBJ 4.0 from multiple ERPs. Of course we are looking at Data Services and Information Steward in the BOBJ suite but just looking for anybody's recommendations on the topic.
What technology platform do you use to do the extract, transform, load processes from multiple backend sources into BW? Any you would advise us to avoid?

The answer depends on multiple factors.
Some pointers:
Volume and growth of db in scope planning (Federation vs replication )
If data federation is where you want to move data services / BO tools will be ideal
If your data is coming from multiple ERP systems you can utilize there delta queue to load data via data services (in case of SAP)
Use native DB connect/UD connect functionalities in BW as with BW 7.3 its delta capable.
Moving to BW 7.4 you will have SDA to solve that problem of integration to Non - SAP data into your EDW landscape
These are pointers but I would say talk to enterprise architects and look into the foresight of wheyare you want to move your EDW platform.

You can also increase battery life by switching off things like Bluetooth, WLAN and GPS when not in use.
Also, if you have a 3G handset but don't actually use data or video calling (services that require or at least benefit from 3G coverage), then set the phone to use GSM only instead of dual mode. Constantly switching from one system to the other drains your battery.

Need list of Videocams for FMLE

Is there a list of cameras that show up in FMLE for
broadcast. To date we have been using web cams with no problem, but
now need a better cam for a larger event. We are money sensitive,
so we don't need near broadcast cameras if we can avoid it.

We have to use a laptop so there is no capture card as such
we can use.
We are due to do this in a week. I have been asking my boss
for a month to send the camera, he has a JVC Envero GZ300, and it
came in yesterday and there seems to be no way to access the camera
from the machine other than to download video. That is to say it
does not record video and talk to the computer at the same time.
You can only record video and then download it which doesn't help
for what we're doing.

Non numeric keyboard - I need the shortcut keys for Google Earth

I need the shortcut keys for Google Earth - like Page Up, Page Down etc, but the new Apple wireless keyboard hasn't got the numeric keypad.
Are there alternative shortcut keys for Page Up/Down? Or can I programme any of the Function keys to do that instead?

Camera Raw integration for SpeedGrade

Hello,
From what I understand SpeedGrade offers very basic support for CinemaDNG files. It would be great if SpeedGrade would offer Camera Raw integration for CinemaDNG files like After Effects does. It would be great for getting a high quality log base to work from and would speed things up. Transcoding via After Effects is not very smart way to work and takes ages if there are lots of clips to work with.
Are there any plans to offer such integration?
Can anyone suggest a smart workflow with CinemaDNGs as of current with SpeedGrade?

I have yet to find any program that pulls back the highlights and recover details as well as Camera Raw. I REALLY want to incorporate SpeedGrade into my workflow, will keep an eye on this thread, would like to see other's workflow.

I would recommend having a look at the C-Series Modules. You can then either use the USB Single Module Carrier, Wi-Fi Single Module Carrier, the CompactDAQ platform or the CompactRIO platform. Here is a page that gives a detailed explanation:

Depending on your budget, operating constraints, timeframe and the transducers you're using a wide variety of equipment might suit your needs. I'd suggest calling the sales department. From NI.com, follow the Contact NI link in the top right corner of the screen. From there you can find information about getting in contact with sales. They help spec out systems all the time.

Where Can we Download the "old" speedgrade ... so we can give better feedback for integration?

Where can we download the "old" speedgrade, so we can give better feedback for integration with aftereffects and premiere. I haven't used speedgrade, but I'm assuming it's like Davinci Resolve ... color grading is something you have to play around with a bit, to give decent feedback on integration. On one extreme, I like the ease of aftereffect composites. On the other hand, using graph operators (such as in Resolve and things like blender) ... is real nice ... but it's really not how i do work on the adobe side. I'm looking for a color grading approach that isn't for tier 1 film, but more for tier 2, independant and/or corporate work. I'd also love the ability to mix special effect compositing (like I currently do with AE), with coloring (which I currently have to do in in another program). I also have two work streams I would like to test, one RED and another 1080p for normal corporate stuff (which i currently don't color grade btw).
Anyway, I see some wierd links on downloading the old speedgrade, I don't see any download links on the speedgrade web page ... would be nice to see what the old speed grade does so I can comment competently.

Adobe SpeedGrade CS6 is at the door, official preview will be held at NAB, I'm currently testing a preview version of SG CS6 and I want to say that it works very well, so stay tuned on the Adobe website.
I tried to "stay tuned", here on this Adobe Website ...and your post is the first confirmation that Adobe Speedgrade still has any sign of a beating heart.
Totally dissapointed in Adobe for lack of SG communication to keep my interest up.
Regardless of that, I am looking forward to seeing it.

apologies for obtuse question. Reunion is apparently no longer available from App Store. Family Tree Maker is now available for MAC but is not getting good reviews. I have used both. FYM on PC and then switched to Reunion, because FTM was not available in 2008 when I got my Mac.
Now I note that Ancestry is in cahoots with FTM so am tempted to switch again but put off by the poor feedback.
I thought that Reunion was also available for Iphone but not FTM??
