Logic node 9.0 update

Is there a update for Logic 9.0 node? This is used when you have multiple computers on the same network. I am currently running Logic pro 9.1.5 and the node does not work. I went back and open logic 9.0 and the node worked. Need update for Logic Node 9
Mac OX
Thanks

I just checked and my node version is 9.1.5 matching the Logic app.  If you update with the Software Update app, it should probably update automatically so maybe your node app was in the wrong folder or renamed?  Make sure it's in the right spot, I doubt SU will show the Logic update again but you can try downloading and running the updater again to see if it updates your node app.

  • Logic node keeps quitting

Im running LP7 on a dual g5 2.7 and a Logic node on a MDD DP 1.25 G4 with 2 gigs of Ram but the node app keeps quitting.Im only using the node on tracks which have only logic au's and fx etc(not a mixture of 3rd party and logic plugs) but logic node quits halfway through playing an 16 bar loop. The node cpu meter is barely touching a quater of the way up so I dont understand this.Anyone??BTW Im runnig 10.4.2 on both machines and all the latest updates etc

While the problem does appear to be Kontakt 5 related... the actual problems seems to be to do with disk access and steaming/buffering data from the disk rather than Kontakt 5 itself...
This can be caused by a lack of RAM... (You have a large number of K5 instances all trying to run in just 6GB of RAM)
    or...
A problem with the Hard Drive-SSD you are using thats unable to properly  keep up with the demands being made on it or the CPU/Memory......
In other words you might just be pushing your system too far given the small amount of memory you have on board...
I see you spent good money on an SSD but frankly your Mac would benefit much more from extra RAM (at least 16GB... and 24/32GB would be even better) than any boost in performance a small 128GB SSD would provide...
    Also.....
Your Waves plugins are several updates behind the times... Get them updated to the recent Waves 9 r19 release as they too, can cause issues that can cause K5 to crash under certain circumstances...

  • Help - Logic 8.0.2 update does not install

The Logic 8.0.2 Update does not install on my machine. The installer goes through the motions very quickly and my Logic Pro app still indicates version 8.0.1. Logic node, Waveburner, etc. all seem to have updated to the .2 version. After not taking with Software Update, I downloaded the updater and that didn't work as well. I have also tried trashing the appropriate Receipt packages (though there was no Logic 8.0.2 receipt). Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks for your help, Erik. I just got off the phone with Apple support and the solution was dumber than dumb: somewhere along the line Logic Pro was renamed "Logic Pro 8" to distinguish it from ver. 7 still on my system. Renamed it "Logic Pro" and voila, the installer recognizes it!

  • Logic Nodes Tab Disappeared from Preferences??

After updating to the latest 9.1.3 update I no longer see the Logic Nodes option. I have the Node app booted on the Node system connected by Gigabit ethernet. Please advise if anyone has had this issue and knows what I might need to do to fix this.

    ...alright, no 64 bit support

I recently formatted my computer.  In other words, I'm not using too much memory of my HD.  My Memory Ram is 8GB.

A week before logic X comes out it starts bugging out... i deleted a bunch of stuff on my HD and cleaned up everything... didnt fix anything... then logic x came out and I though oh i better update that will fix everything... and im still having the same problems... its rediculous.
Umm,, no offence... but what is ridiculous...  is you didn't troubleshoot the original problem but instead you assumed it was a LP9 problem so you updated to LPX which is still in its early days and is likely to be less stable than LP9... rather than more so!
    So.. Here's the thing....
LP9 was working fine and then stopped working normally according to you. Therefore what changed at the time LP9 stopped working normally?
Here are just a few ideas to think about.. for around the time this started..
Did you update Logic Pro 9... OS X... Drivers for Midi/Audio or other connected devices?
If you did, did you then restore from a backup you made prior to these problems occuring and what happened when you did so? (assuming you do make backups of your system?)
Did you install any new Apps on your Mac?
Did you add a new Hard Drive? How is it formatted?
Did you start recording or creating music in a different way to how you used to before the problem started?
Have you started using a different SI or FX plugin or plugins.. More or different FX for example.. Did you install a new version of a plugin?
Is all your software legal? (Have to ask because some people install all kinds of illegal plugins and whatever else.. and have no idea how the 'cracks' work or what they might affect/mess up/conflict with in the process)
Have you looked at the System logs to see if anything is happening out of the ordinary when you get these messages?
Have you looked at OS X's Activity monitor to see if any app or routine is kicking in hard when you get this issue?
Basically, you need to think about and look for what changed... because something apparently changed to suddenly cause these issues...given you said you didn't have them until a certain timeframe and some of the questions above, I hope, will get you thinking..
....and maybe a few of the others here will come up with other ideas and suggestions to help you...
Good luck and let us know how you got on...

  • Logic X won't update! It ask me to login to app store even though i am logged in!

Frist of all logic won't show up in Software Update but i know there is a new version released (10.0.3). I can clearly see the update button in App Store, but when i click it i get "If you want to update this software please login to the account you used when you bought this", only problem is i am already logged in!...
So what can i do about this? I of course want to use the latest version of logic since there is still lots of bugs (btw please also fix the undo freeze bug that is the worst time wasting bug ever!).
I had no problems updating before this version.
    Best regards // Louis

Err... Looks like my old Logic Pro X was updated even though i moved it to a different harddrive lol .
    Thanks.

  • Linking 2 computers with Logic node, anyone try it?

Has anyone established a way to utilize 2 computers side by side to share the processing with logic?
I have a macbook intell and a non intell mac mini, can anyone advise on this set up?

I think your question is legitimate because I've
never found any mention of using Logic Node between a
PPC and Intel machines in the manual.
Hi,the reason you do not see mention of Intel in the Logic Pro manual...is because it was written before Intel chips were available on the Macs.
However, I've read that this is possible.
The latest version of the Node app,WORKS across Intel and PPC platforms.I use it every day,my main machine is an Intel MackBook CoreDuo 2gHz,and my slave is my G4 PPC iBook.
In your case, the problem would be the Mac Mini, because you need to
have computers with Gigabits ethernet ports and the
Mac Mini come with standard 10/100.
FALSE!!! NOT TRUE!!! While Logic recommends the use of Gigabit Ethernet to run the node app,you only need it on the HOST computer. And if you are running more than one slave, then it IS neccessary to use a Gigabit Ethernet Hub,in order to be able to have enough bandwidth to avoid problems between the host and slave computers.
BUT you CAN use any mac with an 10/100 ethernet protocol as a SLAVE NODE.It just will not give you as much horsepower as the Gigabit protocol (100 kbits VS 1000kBits...)
You could, for instance, have a G5 with Gigabit Ethernet, going to one 4-port Gigabit Ethernet Hub,and that going to 4 Mac of any kind, either 10/100 OR Gigabit.
    Cheers

  • What is Logic Node app and do I need to install it??

i just purchased an upgrade of Logic studio.
in the install CD there is a folder called Logic Node and and install for it.
what is that and do I need to install it?
    any help is greatly appreciated.

I really recommend spending a few minutes searching this forum before posting another question already answered just a few threads down. Often it will save the hassle of typing out your problem and waiting for an answer...

I can't save Logic Projects/Files since updating to Lion. Help?!

I just had the same problem, after working on a project for a couple of hours and thinking it was saved, I go back to work on it some more and all the work I had done was not there. This is totally frustrating. I posted here as well and haven't had any responses. Good luck to you.

MBP late 2008 4gb ram 500gb hd + New Mac Mini 2009 Base with 1gb ram
Logic Node installed - settings under audio checked... etc
    Node working (slightly) see picture
I had to unplug the edirol keyboard, brother laser printer, fw800 drives, 3 usb hard drives, external alu keyboard griffin powermate and turn off airport to get working.
then after it was working I would still get overload messages (see below)
barely sending anything to the node...

    any ideas?
    thanx

1.) when node not working it appears to be the fw800 drives
    2) when it does work - no major node processing

  • Logic 7.0.1 Update

I'm having problems installing the logic 7.0.1 update. It keeps saying that it can't find logic pro in the applications folder. has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know how to get round it?

Is the LP7 application actually in the Applications Folder and not somewhere else/in a sub-folder? Apple update want Applictaions in there, and not anywhere else.
My LP, Reason, etc are in a sub folder named "Audio" and updaters won't find them/update them. I have to move them to update.

  • Logic Node- MacBook Pro and iMac G5

    Hi all,
would it be possible to link an iMac G5 (Rev 1) (PPC) to a MacBook Pro (INTEL) in order to use Logic Node?

Yes, it should work fine. Just make sure you use the same node version as your logic pro.

  • Logic nodes over switched ether-network?

    Hi,
I'm planning to setup a 3-mac network as well as takng the leap from to Logic from Cubase.
Can anyone tell me if the Logic-node system will work over an ether-network (via a switch) or does it have to be a direct Mac-Mac connection?
Also, over what length cable run might latency be introduced?
I may also want to use FX-Teleport over the network when it becomes available for the Mac. The same questions apply...will it work via a switch?
And at what point might Midi/Audio latency be an issue?
    Thanks in advance.
    Colin

Colin, just to reassure you, I just bought a cheap D-Link 10/100/1000 8 port switch and replaced by old 10/100 one. I replaced the two cables (Powerbook and G5) with proper Cat5e ones and my node works just fine at opposite ends of the house. Luckily the house wiring I installed was Cat5e already. For some reason Logic has trouble compensating for latency on the EXS24 sampler, but all the other processes seem to have no latency at all. I tested the two machines in the same room with 1 metre CAT5e cables, and the latency is exactly the same. One thing to watch is that even when Logic tells you that it is processing particular tracks on the node, it actually doesn't seem to lessen the CPU load on the host until it absolutely has to. One particular song of mine has about 80% CPU on my Powerbook, and at one point in the song would very often stop with an overload message. Now with the node engaged it STILL shows 80% host CPU, but the difference is that when I reach the dangerous part, Node activity shows up on the meter, and I don't get the error. Cool!

  • Logic Node....

No offense. the Logic Node is pretty much useless unless you're using the stock sounds that come with logic. You can't node the effect heavy Space Designer plug in or the EXS24, probably the two things the most of us use the most...
They should work on an improvement for this for Logic 8

Nodes have no knowledge of whatever samples or IR's that you are using. That would require you to install all of these on each node. The last thing I feel like doing is putting and extra 40 or so GB on a node for this. Perhaps, consider how you are using these plug-ins first. If you don't need that many voices on the EXS, turn them off.
As far as "stock sounds", if you are referring to the plug-ins, the same answer applies as does the samples and IR. VI's however, will handle whatever setup you throw at them and the nodes will as well.

  • Logic Node vs 64bit

Seeing as Logic Node will only run in 32bit, which option will give better performance?
32bitLogic with Logic Node running on a separate computer or 64bitLogic without Logic Node?
I use my Mac Pro as my main work computer and I'm trying to set up my Macbook Pro as the Node computer. Specs below.
    Thanks in advance!
MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7, 8GB
    Mac Pro (2006), OSX 10.6.8, 2 x 2.66GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon, 6GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
    Logic 9.1.8
    Logic Node 9.1.8

    +1 on VEP
I use it daily and its a wonderful tool to add to your 'arsenal'... and provides so much extra and stable functionality that Node ever did... in both 32bit and 64bit modes with LP9 and LPX... I gave up using Node a few years back because of its limitations and it's instability...
