Logic Pro 7 .. Where is the NORMALISE function?
Hi everyone
I am looking for the NORMALISE function with no success.
Have been looking in forums and in the users guide, but it says that i should click "Functions" and then "Normalise", but couldn't find them.
(i use it in french)

Click on the Sample Editor tab(bottom left on the Arrange window next to Mixer) or open the Sample editor window (you have to select the region you want to apply this function 1st)and in the Sample Editor's Menu select Functions>Normalize (it's the 1st on the Functions menu) or the default Key command is Ctrl + N

In logic pro, where do you find the knobs for the guitar amps like the treble, gain, mids, drive, level? In garageband there're knobs for the amp & effects & pedals but in logic pro 9 all are just presets?

Downloading Logic Pro 9 after it was replaced with Logic Pro X in the App Store
I bought Logic Pro 9 a while ago, and I recently reinstalled my Macbook's OS for a new school year, and now I can't find where I can download Logic Pro 9 again, as I don't want to spend another 200 USD on the newer Logic Pro X.
If you purchased Logic Pro 9 from the App store then...
On your Macbook, go to the Mac App Store app
Make sure you are signed into the App Store using the same Apple ID account that you used to purchase Logic Pro 9 originally...
Go to the Purchased tab in the Mac App Store app... and you will find Logic Pro 9 there, ready for you to download and install.
If it is not found under the purchased tab then either you have not signed in using the same Apple ID you used to purchase it originally or... something has become corrupted in your receipts on the Mac App Store servers.. in which case you will need to contact Apple and ask for their assistance to reset things server side. You should have an email from Apple which contains your order info when you bought Logic Pro 9 orginally and you may need to give them that order info for them to authenticate you did purchase LP9 before they can reset their server info for you. If you don't have it Apple may ask you for other proof of purchase such as CC records etc...
If you didn't buy LP9 originally via the app store then you must use the DVD version you originally used to install it. -

Is music created in logic pro compatible with the logic pro x ? for instance if you have created something in logic pro and want to add or tweak it, is that possible? I suppose you would need the original logic folder?
Yes it is more or less compatible, except the use of 32 bit plugins, which is prohibited from now on. So although you're able to open Logic projects as far as down to v5 I believe, it is advisable to remain for 'adding and tweaking' in your pre LPX environment.

Hi, I have just updated to logic 10.0.1 version that has some bug fixes.
Unfortunately my app store keeps saying that an error ocurred because I left my logic open during the update process.
How can I reinstal this update?Quit Logic and Quit the Mac App Store App

Now try again.
If that doesn't work, Quit Logic Pro X.. delete the Logic Pro X app from the applications folder and downlada and install Logic Pro X again using the Purchased Tab in the Mac App Store App. -
Hi, ive been having trouble passing my logic sessions to another computer, we're both using a macbook pro 10.6.8 and logic pro 9 with the same plugins (native instruments komplete 7), the session opens in the other computer but all the synths reset to presets, this didnt happen the first time I shared a session, but its been happening lately quite often

The amount of RAM is not dependant on the operating system. It is all about the model of you Mac.
10.6.8 is the version of OS X that is installed on your system. It has no real baring on the amount of RAM that CAN be installed.
Personally I have never had good luck with Corsair RAM. I have always had good luck with Crucial and Kingston.

Logic Pro Froze in the middle of saving a project.
Logic Pro Froze in the middle of saving a project. It stayed that way for 30 minutes. When I forced quit, it did not save the project, and my last save was an hour previous (including project backup files). Is there a way to recover what I did, or has that hour of work been lost?
Accept it and forget, it is lost for ever.
But.........your new ideas will surpass anything you did before!, I'm sure!

Where is the Search Function in the Forums?
Where has the search function gone from the forums? I have been using it frequently lately because I am setting up a Powerbook 1.5 g4 with FCP 5.1.4 and it is the best way to find answers for "legacy systems" such as mine.

Able to install the .ipa signed with distribution certificate using iTunes on MacBook Pro. where as the when tried to install using iTune on PC is causing a problem
The sound input going to the mic is not going to pipe through the speakers like that. It doesn't do it because it would cause a feedback loop on itself. The mic input will take sound and output it to a program or to another pathway (like a VoIP or Facetime call, etc.) but it won't behave like a Karaoke machine if that's what you're thinking.

I recently bought logic pro x from the app store and now i want to update to 10.0.4 and its saying it wasnt purchased here???!!! sort it out apple very annoying!!
Although there will be many here that will sympathise with your situation, this is a user to user forum. Apple don't come here. The store (if you go to apple.com) now do real time chats. Failing that you'd need to call them to sort your issue out.

If you bought the boxed set of Logic Studio 2.0 which includes LP9, then you cannot download it. You must use the disks that came as part of the boxed set... to install from.
If you bought the App Store version of Logic Pro 9 then go to the Mac App Store App, Sign into the Store using the same Apple ID you used to purchase LP originally, look under the Purchase Tab and you shouldl find LP9 ready and waiting for you to download and install. -

Where is the pause function in scout? I want to pause the monitor, then restart the same one. But it only gave me a new session.
There is no pause function at the moment. For most of the data settings (especially if you only use low overhead settings like basic telemetry and the ActionScript sampler), the amount of data is very low, so you can run Scout for a long time without running out of memory (I've run Scout profiling content continuously for more than a day, with it using only about a gigabyte of memory).
For the high overhead settings, memory is more of a problem. For Stage3D, you can start it in "delayed" mode (choose from the dropdown - "immediate" is the default). This still captures all the Stage3D commands, but doesn't load them into memory until you click "start recording" in the Stage3D Rendering panel. When it does, it constructs a condensed version of the earlier commands, so you can still replay subsequent frames (it has all your textures, etc), but without using as much memory. You can only do this once though - there's no way currently to start and stop Stage3D recording. -

José, if you buy and download Logic Pro in App Store now, the best option would be to buy an upgrade to Logic Studio. I don't think Jam Packs are available any more in Apple Store, besides it will be more expensive buying them one by one than upgrading to Studio.
