Logic "Pro" 8 = Menu Madness and Chaos

So here we are with a brand new Professional Audio DAW.... Carefully though thru' and having underwent surgical crucial design so that the speed could decrease... That is all fine but the Menu Madness IMO is really that last drop...
In the "Logic Pro" menu you have >
Preferences - in that sub menu you have a whole bunch of menus all leading to the same global preference pane where the chosen tab gets selected. These prefs are the general handling of Logic regardless of Project setting.
Then we have the "File Menu" in there resides the "Project Settings" Menu which holds a whole new bunch of settings which takes you to the settings regarding the project. Many of those settings will take you to the Global settings window to make things even more confusing.
Then we have the "Options" menu - with very few options and amongst my favorites the "Project Information" option - which supposedly holds Project information - in my case on 3 different computers - wrong Project Information - an example would be that the PI window shows me that I have 24 undo steps although I emptied the undo data and reorganized Memory prior to saving my project as a template. Also - supposedly I have 3 midi regions - though I surely have NONE... If logic does messes up something this basic - am I really to trust this software with my audio files?
Then to expand a little on the Project Information Window:
In such a window I would expect to see at least:
Sample Rate
Bit Depth and Audio Format
Word Clock and source
Time Code
Not
Number of Midi Regions - Who Gives a Dxxxx how many midi regions are in there be 100 or 105
Environment Objects - Man did they make this window just to make it...???
Staff Styled - Ummm - I really REally needed that one
This whole settings chaos is just NOT thought thru -
To me Sample Rate and Bit Depth is going Hand in Hand - yet Logic regards the Sample rate as a project setting and bit rate as a global setting...
Both CANNOT be set when creating the project... Which they definitely should be enabled to do...

Have to agree with you. While I'm really liking L8, there are many things about it that "feel" like it was a rush job. And there are old paradigms of menu organization that haven't changed since L7 (6). Too much old hat amidst the new appearance.
Still, after a while you learn where things are and then you put up with it. So it's kind of a moot point.
The song information window was present in L7, so maybe they didn't have to do anything new to generate that one. But I agree, it's useless.
When you see X-number of MIDI regions in the Project Info when you have a totally blank Arrangement, don't discount the possibility that there might be some automation data in there somewhere.
Aside from that? Yup, useless. And rather than taking time to make sure that bit of code was included, they'd have been much better off spending their time compiling a list of error messages and their meanings. This like that, which make common sense to the end-user, don't seem to make it past the door in Cupertino.
