Logic Pro 9 "Tracks bounced are low in volume"

So I finished my track, and I bounce it. After it exports to my desktop (like usual) I go to play it and there is practically no volume on the track. I have tried to bounce my track "offline" and have tried multiple times but I cannot seem to figure out the problem.
All of my other projects bounce perfectly. I don't know if I accidentally changed something but there's no master automation, nor should there be any reason why it bounces like this.
Below is a picture of the bouncing settings. Please let me know if something looks wrong or have any suggestions? Thank you!

  • The same corrupted preferences every time Logic Pro crashes, what are they?

I have quite a few crashes with Logic Pro, everytime I run Preferential Treatment to find corrupted prefs it always comes back with these.
are they even to do with Logic Pro? are they some idiot retailers cookies or similar?

  • Logic Pro Tracking

i want to track my voice section by section. so what i do first is track the verse then the next. but i want to do it on the same track and also i want to hear my previous recording/region so i can get a proper queue.
to be exact, below is my workflow:
first i arm a track for recording, record my 1st verse.
    Then I take a breather,
then I want to record my chorus on the same track, so i arm the same track to record my chorus section.
I don't hear my prior recorded verse. I want to hear it so that I can get my cue as to when to enter the song.
Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks guys for the suggestion!
    regards,
    Mon

  • In Logic Pro 10 why are some of the built in guitar effects stereo and some are not

in the library, in the distorted guitar, some are stereo and some only come out of my right speaker. are they all supposed to be stereo or is it my speakers?

Just thinking of the obvious, have you downloaded the additional content from the ProLogic main menu?

  • I downloaded Logic Pro and they are asking for a serial number

    I need answers, please

Yes, Apple goes for free support whenever they can get it.
Most serial problems come from having a previous version, since you haven't Bluesberry's advice seems the best option.
There might be a "com.apple.reglogicstudio"  file in Root/Library/Preferences that should be deleted, (if it's there).

  • How do I use Adaptive Limiter to make sure bounces are same volume?

    Hi,
I've been making ear training exercises for myself - you can understand what here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=490846&tstart=0
Here's what I need to do - and don't know how:
I want all bounced exercises to play at the same volume.
Each exercise has two MIDI regions. The first region (Region #1) plays at the begining of all exercises. When I look at the Output track when Region #1 plays, it is at 0.2 DB - no clipping. However, Region #2 clips in varying degrees depending on what octave an interval is being played at. For instance, a C and E played together around C1 doesn't clip - but transposed to C5 or C6 it clips anywhere from 3.7 to 4.6. I can't just lower the output volume before it clips - because it's important the Region #1 stays the same volume-wise on all of the exercises.
Some people have said just add an adaptive limiter to the Output 1-2 track... but how do I set it?
Any suggestions? Anyone understand this?? It's hard to explain on this end...
    Thanks.

you don't use adaptive limiter to make sure bounces are the same volume.
that is not the function of the adaptive limiter.
the limiter puts a ceiling on the signal and optionally raises the gain. You'd use this on certain instruments that are known to produce loud peaks, such as Bass Guitar and Vocal,
It is used as the last plugin in the chain on the master fader when mixing something down, to prevent the mix from peaking.
IMO, the logic limiter doesn't destroy anything unless the mix itself has something wrong with it.
A lot of people reach for limiter when what their ears are really looking for is to multiband compress.
Your solution is to use a COMPRESSOR (not the multiband compressor, just the simple Logic compressor).
Do NOT use the default setting of the logic compressor in your case, because it defaults with its 'auto Gain' turned on which will raise your volume (a lot).
Put a compressor as the first plugin in all of your piano channels, or into a Bus, and set all your piano tracks to output to the bus with the compessor on it.
    Settings:
    THRESHOLD : -10
ATTACK : 0 (play with it, pianos feel good with a low one,
    could try 15ms or less)
DECAY : play with it, I'd use 50ms with a Piano track
    AUTO GAIN : off
    GAIN : +4
    RATIO : try 12.0
This setting will attenuate anything above -10 and will raise the gain up to a healthy level to compensate.
Anything below -10 won't be touched.
Since the compressor will 'squash' your signal slightly,
some frequencies will appear louder to the ear after the piano is compressed. So just AFTER the compressor on the same track, put a Logic Channel EQ and conservatively pull down some of the freq ranges to bring them back to normal.
    And that's it.
a tip: When working in logic, no matter what the project, when it's time to mixdown put a COMPRESSOR on every single channel as the first plugin. Then play with plugins, etc.
I do have many issues with Logic's workflow, but the dynamics plugins IMO are very good.

  • Logic Pro Potential Switcher

OK, so I have been less than complimentary of Logic in recent times in other forums but now I have gone back to experiment with Express and (Environment excepted) it seems to actually be very efficient for what I now do. I am currently using Cubase SX but it's infinite flexibility seems to be a hinderance as it seems to create a very cluttered interface. Logic Pro now seems to be worth an investment in time to learn (and I love Apple, so it's a loyalty thing).
My question is, what are the current major functionality and bug gripes with Logic Pro and what are the "Feature Requests" that seasoned users request? I occasionally visit this forum to keep an eye on trends but it seems that there have recently been no major complaints of late. Can anyone volunteer to tell me what's wrong with Logic. I can then assess whether these are showstoppers for me.
Also, as I mainly use AU plugins, can anyone tell me how to access a single plugin's additional audio outputs in different Audio Instrument tracks so I can manipulate them independently. I have tried both environment multi-timbral configurations and Audio Instrument solutions but none seem to work like Pro Tools where a single Instrument track's AU plugin can have it's additional audio outputs accessible from other tracks (if that makes sense).
    Many thanks for any feedback.
    Regards
    David.

    HI D,
    Welcome to the forum.
The brouhaha about bugs may have quieted down a bit, but that's not to say that the major bugs have been fixed; with 7.1.1 being at least 6 months old, and without a recent update, I think people are just getting back to work and dealing with Logic's foibles, utilizing the many workarounds which, discussed and shared by this forum's members, are now fairly common knowledge.
There are a few people here who swear by 7.2.1 which was not an upgrade but a crossgrade (and there's a significant difference which I won't expound upon). Others have quickly abandoned 7.2.1 and reverted to 7.2. But I'm still on 7.1.1. It's stable and I'm getting work done. No reason to rock the boat, change horses mid-stream, blah blah blah, unless there's going to ge a significant advantage in doing so.
7.1.1 -- the latest and only version of 7 to use IMO. As I said, it's stable; haven't had a crash in months when using it primarily for MIDI & straight-up audio recording. I don't use any 3rd party plugs for engineering type tasks -- I only use Logic's native plugs (there is nothing to be read into that statement other than it's a personal choice).
I use EXS-24 extensively and have only a few minor problems with it. Third party instrument plugs, tho, are my biggest headache. For example, loading up multiple instances of GPO, EWQLSO, various Peter Seidleczek and other plugs will occasionally cause Logic to crash under a variety of circumstances.
Here is my short list of extant bugs in 7.1.1. This list is a combination of my own experience PLUS what I've been reading on this forum:
SIDS (sudden instrument dropout syndrome), where MIDI regions will suddenly stop playing inexplicably. Purportedly fixed in 7.2.1 however. I haven't experienced this in 7.1.1 for quite some time, but when using 3rd party instrument plugs I do experience a really frustrating situation where Logic will drop notes when playback commences from a downbeat. Playback started somewhere before the downbeat seems to alleviate the problem. It's a major, major pain.
    Song Corruption and its Manifestations
Inexplicably, songs will become corrupted, resulting in a number of strange and extremely PITA behaviors. The worst manifestation of this is an UNDO bug, where hitting undo one time will result in multiple previous edits becoming undone. Certain types of edits are more prone to disappearing than others, notably score markings (i.e., after entering multiple double bar symbols, hitting undo results in all of the double bars disappearing). Another manifestation: enter a bunch of markers, then edit a note and undo the edit. Blammo -- all of your markers will disappear, not just the last one entered.
Logic songs become corrupted is commonplace. And the corruption can exist without the user knowing it until they attempt just the "right" operation. If you know what I mean...
    Solo Bug after Undo
Boy this one peeves me. If you have a track (or region) solo'd, do some editing and then hit UNDO, that track/region loses it's solo status. In short, undo=lose solo. You have to re-select the track/region and re-solo it to get it to work. If multiple tracks/regions are solo'd and you hit UNDO, only one of those tracks will remain solo'd.
    Other Bugs
    • Score Editor (numerous bugs related to score editing)
    • Matrix Editor (display problems)
    • Event Editor (display problems)
    • Key Commands Window (some key commands simply don't work, other problems with the window itself)
    • Automation (works really well under most circumstances, but a ramp value of zero will screw things up big-time)
    • Arrange Window graphics and overall system response slows down significantly at certain screen sizes and/or zoom-in amounts
    • Offline Bouncing -- many people report problems with this function, including the significant issue that any automation written to the track isn't imparted to the bounce
    • 96K recording is highly problematic on some systems.
The other major bugaboo people run into is about just getting Logic up and running. Reports of Logic crashing on startup, crashing upon saving, not being able to launch the program, and so on. I would like to think that anyone who's posted their startup woes here on this forum have received ample advice on what to do/how to troubleshoot that their systems are now up and running. I know that I benefitted immensely from advice offered me on this forum when my Logic system remained brand new, out-of-the-box, and virtually inoperable for 2.5 weeks.
So if you're going to take the plunge for Logic, there may be some growing pains. If you're lucky, there won't be. But if you do run into problems, this is a fine place to go for help.

  • Worrying about iMac with Logic Pro. (i mean big fan noise)

    hi.
i am thinking about buying a new iMac with Apogee Ensemble. but i am a bit worried about the fan noise from imac when i use lots of plug-ins and etc.
well... the best way is to buy a Mac Pro and stash the machine in a machine room or a cabinet or something. but the budget is low here.
does anyone have any good ideas? do i have to take the fan noises? or is it really so powerful so that makes no such big fan noises?
    thanks

I have no doubt that you and I haven't been reading the same posts, but I was under the impression that most people were much more infuriated that there was no announcement or run up to the launch (and thus they bought L9 just before).
Actually, we have been reading the same posts! Apple, historically, have never (and I do mean NEVER) pre-announce releases of Logic Pro. They are always announced on release day, even going back to before the Mac App Store, when boxed versions were still available. Apple do have quite a generous refund policy, so I suggest that anyone who feels cheated could always 'report an issue' via the link in the receipt email and try and obtain a refund. Personally, I would never buy a current version of Logic Pro until July was over, but as I've been using it for over 11 years now (before Apple bought Emagic), I guess I'm very familiar with the release times.
So why not keep support for EXSManager/Keymap, or at least a download link for paying customers. There is no other program that can do what it did unless you want to go back to an old version of Logic and utilise functionality that they removed yet is still relevant today.
Redmatica wouldn't have been allowed (under the terms and conditions of the buyout), to keep making the EXSManager, it would have been illegal as it's now an Apple product. That's like saying why didn't Emagic keep making a version of Logic for the PC after Apple bought them, because they obviously weren't allowed under the terms and conditions because it became an Apple product. While I can understand your frustration, you also have to understand the legalities that take place during takeovers and buyouts, as it's really not as simple as it may at first appear.

  • How to configure logic Pro X for Xenyx Q1202 USB

Hello. We need to know how to configure our Logic Pro X to accept our Xenyx Q1202 USB. At the moment we cannot record on Logic Pro from a mic plugged into the Xenyx or record any instruments. The sound comes from the mic into the Xenyx and then out of the Xenyx into the headphones but it won't go into Logic Pro X.
We are using a brand new imac, (OSX Yosemite version 10.10) Logic Pro X and Xenyx. The Xenyx seems to be working OK. The microphone and cables work perfectly because we can hear sound from the mic going into the the Xenyx and out through the headphones. The Xenyx Q1202 USB is a Mixer with preamp compressor and USB/Audio interface.
Logic Pro X knows that the Xenyx is connected to the iMac because it has registered that fact. But it's not picking up any sound at all from the Xenyx. We've have tried it on Garage Band and have the same problem.
We have a feeling it might have something to do with the configuration.
    Can anyone help please?
    Thanks so much.

Ok.. Lets take this a small small steps at a time..
    In Logic's preferences/Audio....
What do you have set as the Input and Output?
The input should be your Xenyx
The Output should be whatever you are going to use to listen to the sound output from your Mac...  If you have speakers or headphones connected to the headphone output of your Mac then select that. If you want to listen to sound via the headphones or audio outs of your Xenyx, select the Xenyx.
Now create an audio track in Logic and select the correct inputs to match the inputs you are using on the Xenyx...
Record Arm the track and speak into your mic.. and see if Logic's meters move for that track you created...

  • Logic Pro 8 with Triton Studio MIDI Data Not Sending

I have a Triton Studio (Korg), recently got a MIDI IN/OUT to USB plug in, for my macbook.
Never done this before, thus am trying to figure this out:
My computer is showing that the USB plug in is indeed there, and Logic Pro sees the device as well... however when I punch the keys in the keyboard, the data does not seem to transfer into the Logic Pro track.
I just want to get it set up, so I can record onto Logic Pro 8, creating music on this software.  As in playing my board, having the software receive what I am playing.  Just piano stuff really...  Any help I can get is appreciated, I have looked through all sorts of forums and manuals, but maybe an explanation would help, or clarity on what the basic settings should be at, so it can work, then if it still does not work, then maybe there's another issue.
Also, when I start Logic Pro 8, it says "Cannot find DAE Folder in "System Folder" them "ESB TDM Plug-in not found"
Are these anything to worry about?  This computer is used, thus I am not the first owner.

The cable ends are labeled  IN and OUT correct? They go into the opposite MIDI ports on the Keyboard.
The cable labeled IN goes to the MIDI OUT port on the keyboard....etc.
You need to use an external MIDI track or a Software (virtual) Instrument track to record MIDI.
Normally this is correct, but I have seen a USB Interface where the cables are labelled the other way round.... IN goes to IN, OUT goes to OUT.
Crazy situation, but might be worth checking?
    CCT
That's one I've never seen but have no doubt they exist.
Perhaps a quality control issue.... Nah!
    To the O.P.
Does the Korg Triton have to be enabled for MIDI out.
As I recall some Korg Triton models had both MIDI ports and a built in USB interface and there was a MIDI Menu where either port could be enabled. It's worth checking into even if your model does not have the built-in USB output.
Are you using 10.6.8 like your tagline says?

  • Import icons into Logic Pro

How can I import icons into LogicPro for Track headers?

    CRB wrote:
How can I import icons into LogicPro for Track headers?
    According the manual:
Click an existing track icon in the Track Parameter box, and choose the icon you want from the grid.
You can create your own icons for tracks. User-created icons are saved in the following
    folder: ~/Library/Application Support/Logic/Images/Icons.
These icons must have the following attributes:
    • 128 x 128 pixels in size
    • An alpha channel for transparency
    • Must be saved in the portable network graphics format (with the .png suffix)
    • Must be given a filename that starts with a three-digit number
Note: If this number is identical to the number of one of the built-in Logic Pro icons, the
icon found in the user folder is given priority.
You also have the option of directly replacing the built-in Logic Pro icons, which are found
in the /Contents/Resources/Images folder in the Logic Pro package.

  • Transition to Logic Pro X from Protools

I've been running PT8  HD 3/TDM for some time on a MacPro 2 x 2.4 Quad, Xeon, 8 GB RAM and have an ICON controller.   I just upgraded my Mac to Mountain Lion to optimize other software I am running.   PT crashed and I discovered that I now need to upgrade PT to 11.   This is going to be at least 6K and a headache.   I saw the news that Logic Pro X just went to market.  I am seriously considering transitioning to Logic and getting out of Protools.
The following are critical issues for me and I wonder how Logic address them:
    1.   Delay compensation..  When I am overdubbing, mixing with plugins on some channels and outboard gear on other channels how does Logic handle this.    If I recall from years ago you had to manually adjust delay compensation when overdubbing, i.e. determine the number of samples that new tracks were off.
    2.   Setting up new tracks.     I recall using Logic previously and it was challenging and not very intuitive to set up new tracks or channels.    Had this improved.    I know that this issue is also personal preference and was perhaps my personal shortcoming.
    3.   What about my 10s of thousands of dollars of plugins that I have already paid for.   I know that the TDM versons are out the window.  What about RTAS?   What type of plugins can I use with Logic Pro.
    4.   I like using an ICON controller.   I imagine that there are a bunch of good controllers out there that are specific to Logic Pro.    What are your preferences?

Any personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi
You can check the version numbers various ways:
Open Logic Pro X:Preferences:Audio Units Manager:  This lists all AU plugins and their versions
Open Kontakt, click the NI logo top right: the version is displayed top left of the splash screen

  • Is there a way to patch my Logic Pro 9.1.8? Or do I have to spend another $200.00 and purchase Logic Pro X?

Just wondering if Logic Pro is like Pro tools where I can patch a newer version without paying full price.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Logic Pro 9 updates are free, but Apple won't provide more updates for Logic Pro 9 (it has been removed from the Mac App Store).
Now, if you want a newer version, you have to purchase Logic Pro X for $199.99
