First of all, you are still in Learn Mode, as the button on the bottom right is still darkened. Click it so it becomes lighter, meaning learn mode is no longer active. Then proceed to delete all the assignments, in your screenshot I can see the top message is assigned to A#1 (look at the "input Message" values on the right). But the rest of the assignments do not look like you conciously made them, it's a bit of a mess. You should be aware that cmd-L opens the CA-window, and engages Learn Mode, meaning that whatever is the very first MIDI message you send will be "learnt" as a controller assignment, and it will no longer be availbale as regular MIDI. That's how notes can "disappear" if you're unaware of this function. To open the CA window without engaging Learn Mode, use cmd-K.
(and clicking on the smaller picture will present the full size picture, no need to add that extra link.)

• Hi, OS 10.6.8 (2006 macbook pro) won't save, close projects, quit

Hi, I recently upgraded my OS to 10.6.8 (my 2006 macbook pro - 2.16 intel core 2 duo - won't run anything beyond that), and now Logic will not close projects or save, and it won't quit until forced to!
If anyone has any advice I'd be very grateful.
Thanks

You need this fix!

Follow the instructions exactly, there is also a link to get what you need to install.
Don't delete any more than the instructions call for.

• MacBook pro won't start up, and quits during safe boot

The machine in question is my MacBook pro mid 2009. I never upgraded to Mavericks, so its on the previous OS to that (can't remember now I'm afraid!). It froze the other day while I was on Safari and playing football manager on steam. I couldn't access anything, just constantly welcomed by the beachball and couldn't even force quit or restart. I held the power button to shut it down, and haven't been able to restart since. I was first facing the grey screen with spinning wheel for a long time, and then found apple's advice. I now (no matter what I try) end up with the grey screen, Apple logo and status bar underneath. It adds about 3mm on the bar and the switches off automatically.
It has enough power, I have tried pressing the shift key, command, option, p and r keys together, and also the c key, but I end up with the same result of status bar, then Shut down - any ideas? assistance appreciated!

WHen Disk Utility isn't able to repair a drive you need to turn to third party utilities like Disk Warrior and hope for the best http://www.alsoft.com/DiskWarrior/
DIsk Warrior isn't cheap but it's saved my bacon a couple times over the years. If you have an Apple Store or AASP nearby you might consider taking it in for service. Hopefully you have a backup.

• I installed Lion OS X and Logic Pro won't run. I downloaded the 9.1.5 update: "An Eligible Logic Pro Version Was Not Found in the Applications Folder. This Update require Logic Pro Version 9.0 or higher". I have Logic Pro Version 9.1.1 installed.

I installed Lion OS X and Logic Pro won't run. I downloaded the 9.1.5 update: "An Eligible Logic Pro Version Was Not Found in the Applications Folder. This Update require Logic Pro Version 9.0 or higher". I have Logic Pro Version 9.1.1 installed.
I even pulled the dmg file into the Logic Studio folder in my applications directory and it still does not recognize it. What do I do now?

Niel: Thanks.
For others benefit, here is what happened.
I had installed Logic Studio 9.1 some time ago.......not knowing what all the programs were nor what they did, I created a "Logic Studio" subfolder in my applications folder and put all Logic Studio programs into it so I'd know where they were and could review each at my leisure over time.
My assumption now is that when the updater looks for the Logic Pro program, it looks only in the applications folder. It seems lame that it would not also look in the subfolders of the applications folder, but that apparently IS the way it works. Because my Logic Pro program was located in the "Logic Studio" subfolder, the updater just didn't see it..hence the error message I received when I tried to update.
Solution: I moved all the Logic Studio programs out of the subfolder and now they reside in the applications folder. Ran the 9.1.5 updater and it worked like a charm.

• Logic pro X 10.0.4 and EUCON problem - plug-ins name won't appear on the display of artist series

Logic pro X 10.0.4 and EUCON problem - plug-ins name won't appear on the display of artist series
I'm currently using mavericks , logic pro x 10.0.4 and eucon 3.0.1
There was a freezing problem which is now resolved by clicking the prevent app nap in the info on eucon app and all my most used apps.

Yes - it works exactly as it did in Logic 9 under ML - my problem under mavericks and pro X was sluggish updating of display - turned encoder on MC MIX and nothing happened imediately and names on MC MIX not updating properly.
I only changed app nap to off - ie ticked it on get info panel of the EUCON application and relaunched whole lot and it as worked prefectly since (fingers crossed etc)

• Has anybody downloaded logic pro from the app store and how did it work thanks

has anybody downloaded logic pro from the app store and how did it work?
thanks

I've recently upgraded my stuff with a Mac Mini Server and downloaded Logic from the app store with absolutely no problems at all. I'm on 10.7.3 with an i7 processor and 4Gb memory (yeah, may as well put another 4 in as well, I know).
Logic 9.1.6 is running very smoothly for me, but I think I'll go to 9.1.7 because there is a malfunction with time stretching regions in the Arrange window that the update's meant to fix.
A lot of your experience with downloading the additional content, apart from Logic itself, will depend on the speed of your internet connection, but the software handling of that aspect seems quite good - best to just load one lot of stuff at a time and see how it works out.

• Logic Pro won't open a Logic arrangement created in Logic Pro Educational

Anyone experiencing this unusual problem. I am running a fully registered copy of Logic Pro on my MacBookPro. My client is using Logic Pro Educational copy, which expires in a few weeks from now. I have tried to open his arrangement/song files on my system. My Logic Pro won't even recognise what kind of file it is. Anyone know why this is happening? Very, very annoying when this is my line of work and income. If it's a security issue, then it should be the other way around. He shouldn't be able to open my files, hence me paying £700 for my licience. Any advice from anyone would be most helpful. I know someone will probably say...'well get your client to buy a full copy of Logic Pro' ... But it still won't solve this problem in accessing this work. Sometimes Apple...arghhhh!

Thanks for your response. We actually tried it with another user who uses an educational copy. It worked straight away without any problems on his system. 'Corrupt file' is the error I'm getting though, so you're right there. The only thing I can think of is I'm using a MacBookPro and they are using the older Macs. Could it be a strange Intel problem? Very weird. Would love to get to the bottom of this. I am going to try loading it up on my friend's G5 to see if this is the case.
Thanks.
Nick.

• Just installed logic pro 7.2 cross grade and an error comes up

hi, i have a mac book pro 2.16 ghz 1 gbram i had logic pro 7.1.1 academic
and i installed logic 7.2 cross grade and now when i open logic a messege comes up that says "project manager database on disk has got wrong version. rescanning required"
then when i push ok logic unexpectedly quits. can some please help!!! thank you.
MacBookPro1,2 Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Haven't heard of this problem before, but here's a suggestion that might work.
In your ~/Library/Preferences/Logic folder you should find a folder named 'PM Data.'
Perhaps if you dragged that folder to your desktop, your problem will disappear. Here's hoping…

• Do I need Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update, and if so, how do I get it now?

Do I need Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update, and if so, how do I get it now?
Tuesday, 2008-07-29
Due to prolonged illness, I purchased the Logic Studio Upgrade version (I already had Logic Pro 7.2.3, with dongle) only last week. Logic Studio Upgrade version initially installs Logic Pro version 8.0.0. I then dutifully set out to download both the Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update and the Logic Pro 8.0.2 Update.
As of this week, all attempts and maneuvers to simply get the Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update have failed. I cannot even find it, let alone download it!
Yes, I've tried the relabeling juggling act to fool Software Update into eventually listing and providing both the Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update and the Logic Pro 8.0.2 Update—but no luck, not any longer. These moves may have worked up until relatively recently, but they do not work now, at least as of this week.
All searching of Apple's site(s) and Support pages results in nada—Apple itself no longer lists any such file/dmg/download/update anywhere! All previous links are either dead or just dump one back on to the Logic Pro 8.0.2 Update page.
(In my many searches, I noted what seemed to me to be a majority of opinion that the Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update was a dog, especially in Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.2 or 10.5.3. Many users reported crashes, panics, and.or freezes. Is this why Apple has pulled the update and rendered it extinct?)
I Googled, I Asked Why, I Cuiled—but no Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update, except as that which lurked in the murky warez waters. Still, frustrated as I was, I did even try all such I could find . . . but no third party-hosted update worked at all.
I am concerned because in all my previous experience with Apple and its applications, ample information is made readily available about the contents of any update and an explanation of its relationship to previous updates. By this latter I mean: Apple indicates that update "x" incorporates the previous updates "u" and "v"; therefore one can proceed safely to install update "x" even if one missed updates "u" and "v" or for whatever reason did not install them.
So . . . do I need Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update, if I am then going to further update with the Logic Pro 8.0.2 Update? Does Logic Pro 8.0.2 Update incorporate the changes made in Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update? Will I be missing (critically?) something(s) in Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update if I in fact do not ever get it or install it? And how would I know? Apple has not only removed the update and all traces of it, but Apple has also removed all information about Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update—it is now literally as if it never existed.
So what's a po' boy to do? Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update cannot now be found on VersionTracker or MacUpdate or anywhere else. To date, no user group or organization or educational institution or program or audio-related company posted it or archived it.
Where/how can I get a copy of the Logic Pro 8.0.1 Update?
If I can't, what do I do?
If I can't, what do I miss?
And where is Apple's support for Logic Studio/Logic Pro in all of this?
Earnestly hoping,
j.

Rodger,
Thank you for your gracious welcome . . .
and thank you for your swift response . . .
and thank you for your information (and encouragement!).
Yes, I read that too, but searched in vain for the specifity of, say, your direction:
"Go ahead and update to 8.0.2, as it contains the 8.0.1 update."
So I shall!
Again, many thanks.

• How do I "save tabs and quit" in this new version of Firefox, as I did in the older version? I want to be able to see the same websites open from the last time I closed the computer.

In an earlier version of Firefox, when I went to close it, I would get a prompt "save tabs and quit?" that allowed me to see the same websites open from the last time I closed the computer. Where is that feature on the new version of Firefox?

Firefox 4 and later versions save the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox") if you want to restore multiple windows or otherwise have problems with restoring tabs.
You can use "History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.
You may need to click the orange/gray Firefox button to see History.
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.
Using the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" setting is a more reliable way to restore session data.

As a hobbyist dual core Macbook Pro 13-1nch will do fine.
For professional work, you are better off with Macbook Pro 15-inch quad core i7..
iWeb is no more available from Apple. You may have to check Amzon for it.

• QT Pro won't save

HI QT Pro won't save any video from the internet also Safari won't open the web site Panoramio.com, I think it may be some thing to do with the last upgrade to my system I am now running OS 10.4.10?
George

No joy for me either, since you didn't answer my last question.
If I don't know what you have tried to verify that your OS & file system are in good shape, I can't help you.
FWIW, my OS started acting weird a couple of days ago. Not with your problem but with assorted little oddities. I began to realize something wasn't right so I ran the "Verify Disk" check in Disk Utilities. Sure enough, there was some minor damage it found. I could have attributed this to an update performed about the same time, but then I remembered the power failed briefly at about the same time, while the Mac was in sleep mode. Although it has never happened to me before, this is a known cause of file system corruption.
Repairing it ended my problems.
