Logic Pro missing a portion of additional content

Logic pro X says it has installed all additional contents in the download additional content window , but they are not all showing up in the library and when I load an older project (created on my old mac) there will be missing contents. I have recently switched from a 2013 macbook air to a 2014 macbook pro but I can't understand why it's indicating certain packs (e.g Jam packs - symphony orchestra, world music, voices) are installed but they are not in the library. God knows what else is missing in there too Can anyone help?

Did you manually check you have downloaded All the additional content?
By manual I mean.. Did you click on all the disclosure triangles instead of clicking on the button in the bottom left corner?
The Legacy content requires you to manually select it all...... for download.
Also, if you did do that.. Did you reindex your loops?

  • Logic Pro missing EXS24 sounds after migration

I just got a new iMac and migrated Logic from my old Mac.  But a LOT of the sounds I use from the EXS24 plugin are missing!
Does anybody know how I can get them back?  I already tried to reinstall Logic, but the sounds are still missing.
It's weird because some of the sounds are still there, while others are missing.
My luck, most of the ones I use are the ones missing.
I don't know if other plugins are also missing stuff, so far they all seem to be EXS24 sounds.
    Thanks,
    Dan,

Using MA is never a good idea with Logic as many people find themselves having the same issue.
It is always better to install Logic from scratch on a new Mac.... alongh with any 3rd party plugins and libraries and then copy over your projects etc manually...
But.. having said that, did you also download all the additional content from the Logic Pro menu bar option?
    Logic Pro/Download Addional Content
That might help... but not always...
You may also need to try and rebuild your Spotlight indexes too.. but again, that doesn't always fix things...

  • Logic Pro missing audio files and instrument patches

    Good morning
Last week I downloaded  Logic Pro version  9.1.8 from the App store.
I have downloaded all the additional copntent listed
I am running a brand new IMAC with OSX10.8.2
The instrument choices and patches show up.....
However  many of the audio files and instrument patches are missing.
Prerecorded songs can be loaded but...
When I open a logic song (recorded on my prior IMAC) and recorded within Logic Audio 9.0.0, I get consistent messages such as
    EXS24 Instrument "Classical piano.exs"  Audio file "BDorfer f O d#.aif not found.
This happens with most most of the patches.
    Many thanks for your help

The only things missing from the App Store version compared to the Boxed set are the loops and samples that came as part of Soundtrack Pro and those are no longer available..
However, the sample you mentioned is actually part of the GarageBand Library.... Did you install GB too?
If you did so... then... three things..
    First, try using FindAnyFile
    http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/
(Download the version on that webpage and not the App Store version)
..and do a search for BDorfer.. (Just that and nothing else) and see if it finds your missing file.
If it doesn't find it.., install GB and try again... (You may need to rebuild Spotlight afterwards as described below)
If it does find it then..
Two.. rebuild GB's Loop index as this fixes all kinds of weird things in Logic... (and yes, i know its loops not samples but it's worth trying based on past experience fixing these kinds of issues)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2443?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
    and... if that doesn't work..
    Three... Have you reindexed Spotlight?
    http://osxdaily.com/2012/01/17/rebuild-spotlight-index/
Logic uses Spotlight to find everything it needs.. so that is worth a try too if everything else fails..

  • Logic Pro X: Install additional content on external hard drive?

    Hi all,
I'm just wondering if there are any new, official ways to ask Logic Pro X to store the additional content that is downloaded to a different location (e.g., an external hard drive). So far I haven't found anything in the documentation (though maybe I missed it).
    Thanks

I got it working with symbolic link.
It's very easy and this is how I did it:
    1. Download this for free:
    https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/10433/symboliclinker
    2. Copy original 'Logic' Folder located in /Volumes/"DRIVE NAME"/Application Support/ on the desired external drive and location. This is the location where all your additional content is beeing installed to.
    3. You can delete the original folder or rename it and use it as a backup.
    4. Use the symbolic link tool to create a symbolic link from the 'Logic' file which has been copied to your external drive.
Place the link (which looks like an alias) to its previous destination (/Volumes/Macintosh HD/Application Support/) and rename it to 'Logic'.
    5. After this you will be able to download additional content.
    6. Be aware if you want to download 30 GB of content and your SSD has just 20GB free space, it will show you the same error message because it stores the download file still on your SSD until installation is done. The solution for this is to download everything part by part.
Maybe there is a simpler solution. This was very quick and easy for me. Logic 9 and 10 both work still.
    Hope this helps.

  • Logic Pro X Additional Content .....still installing

    Hi,
I recently purchased and downloaded the new Logic Pro X then downloaded the additional content.  This took about 36 hours as my Internet Connection is only 1-2 Mb.  The dialog box then changed to.  Installing Additional Content....and has remained like that for the last 24 hours.  The blue status indicator took about 1 hour to show complete but there has been no change in the status since then.  I can't quit Logic as the Quit is greyed out
Anyone else had this issue and any ideas what I should do please?

similar problem that I'm hoping revives this thread. Took over 24hrs to dload additional content (after another full day for the actual problem) due to a bad dload rate. so quitted, and relocated closer to my wifi router. Restart, open logic x, Menu bar:  Logic Pro/ Download Additional content ...Tells me i have no internet connection.... Ahh... I do, I'm using it right now! Tried restarting and relaunching. same thing every time.
    Any clues?
This whole apple upgrade has been so disappointing! All i wanted to do was reinstall logic 9! $2500 later and I'm still struggling. ***!

  • Can't download additional content in the loops section in Logic pro x, what's the solution?

Can't download some of the additional contents from the loops in Logic Pro x, whenever I download additional contents it takes it's time to download but then when I quit Logic and start it again, the loops still can't be selected, they aren't getting downloaded, what's the solution ?

Just click loops , on the top of the panel click loops, and select "reindex all loops".

  • Instruments in Logic Pro 9 Library will not load: I try to add a new instrument on a project and get a "cannot be found" error.

    Ladies and Gentlemen,
As a faculty member in the School of Music, I have just acquired a copy of Logic Pro 9.1.8 through my University. The programs and instrument packs were installed by our IT department and show as being fully installed on Logic Pro when I search for additional content through the Logic Pro tab at the top of the screen. The window shows that all 6 Jam Packs, Logic Pro & Main Stage Content (Essential and Additional) GarageBand content, and Surround content is installed. However when I try and add a new instrument on a project, most of these instruments cannot be found. I get the following error:
    Audio file “KB_pizz_f_C1.wav” not found!
I then press the Continue Tab, and it looks for the instruments in an empty file that Logic creates in the Music section of the hard drive. I have investigated the sounds by going through the MAC Hard Drive>Library>Application Support>Logic>Sampler Instruments folder, and tried to copy the sounds into the Music>Logic folder created by the program. That does not work either. Even attempting to go into these Logic Pro instrument files one at a time has proved fruitless. I am told that the file cannot be opened.
The files appear to be installed, but cannot be accessed or opened. They all have that translucent grey appearance when I attempt to click on the icon. This is true for about 80% of the files in the instrumental library. Whenever I create an instrument, the EVP88 Electric Piano is installed by default. There are a few instruments that I can successfully replace this default instrument with, but a majority of the instrumental library remains unavailable. Can anyone help?

    Kurt:
You might try a different way of adding the video files to the web page. This demo page has one where the file does not load until the play button is selected: Opening Item in a New, Precisely Sized Window. This demo page has 9 short videos on it using that method: PhotoPresenter Animated Slideshow Themes. Just add a screenshot of one of the movie frames or any photo you want and add the Play button on or below it.
You manually upload the movie file to your server so iWeb is not involved in the uploading the file at any time.
Similarly this demo page, QT movies via iFrame, has a method that has you manually uploading the file to the server and linking to it via iFrame code. That page also has other similar methods.
Another method is demonstrated in Roddy's iWeb for Musicians site on his Video page. Here you also upload manually.

  • My version of Logic Pro X is like a glorified version of Garageband, how do I change this ?

I've just finished downloading the full Logic Pro X package with all additional content. Upon opening a project, it appears to be just like Garageband with a small amount of extras (even the layout is the same - brown strips on either side of the window).
For example, I cannot group my channel strips, I have very limited options within the Preferences window, and some functions are limited. I run Logic Pro X at work and haven't had this issue.
I'd like to change my view from this :

  • Re: installing Logic Pro X on a second computer that doesn't have much internet bandwidth

I have two complete studios, two locations, two Mac minis. The first has full internet bandwidth and I've installed Logic Pro X with all the additional content. The second is in a rural location where I have very limited, very slow and very expensive internet. How can I install Logic Pro X without downloading all the additional content? Can the content files be copied to a drive and then to the second computer?

I'd take the second Mac to a place with a better connection. That's probably your best bet.
You could try to copy the files in:
    Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Logic
Not sure what the result would be. Maybe copy the files first, then install? I think either way LPX has to do this. Another way possibly, install it, then when it requires the content download, close it, copy the files over, then re-open?
Let me know. This is all a guess.

  • Logic pro x keeps wanting the same additional content

Logic Pro X on OS 10.10.2. My old iMac died. I used Time Machine to restore stuff to the new iMac (Retina). Logic is there and my Logic files are there. When I open some of them, though, Logic says it needs to download additional content. I say yes, and it does. When I reopen the same file I get the same request (and do it again, and then the file does play). "Download Additional Content…" is now grayed out, because I've downloaded ALL content. (Big disk now!)

Another message indicates that some samples can't be found. (This happens when I'm closing a file; the other one happens when I open a file.) This seems closely related. But why would Logic be unable to locate material that it itself has asked to download?
Is there some standard way to check the sample libraries (etc) for completeness and consistency? I assume that when the Logic material from my previous computer was pulled over by OSX to the new computer from Time Machine, something went wrong with the mapping of files, but I don't know how to check this (or fix it).

  • I have the additional content still asks to download in 10.1

    Hello all,
I upgraded to 10.1 and downloaded all the additional content and I love the new features and patches. However, logic keeps asking me to download additional content totally 5.0gb The only things I see in the additional content window are a few outdated things that def do not amount to 5gb. I even downloaded and installed the outdated stuff and I'm still getting this message.
I have the latest version of yosemite as well. Thanks and advance.
Ps: I don't have the latest MainStage.

That doesn't help. Sorry but I am talking about the the Adobe READER PLUG-IN . The MOST updated version is : 10.0.1. There is no 10.0.3 . There is a version of adobe acrobat that is 10.0.3 but it is for Adobe acrobat PRO only- which I do not have.
The most updated version of the acrobat reader plug is in : 10.0.1 unless there is another place to download a more updated version than that- which I cant find.
Or there is a problem wiht the plug in checker by Mozilla Firefox.

  • Mainstage 3 and Logic Pro X

I understand that Mainstage 3 is for live performances, and I don't play live often.  However, I see that Mainstage 3 comes with a whole heap of instruments, plugins, patches, sounds etc.  Is it worth dropping the extra $30 to be able to use those features within Logic Pro X for additional capabilities?   Or is that content already in Logic Pro X?
    Thanks!

The content is basically the same as found in LPX..
What isn't the same.. can only be used in Mainstage (MS)... Think live 'rigs' setup examples.. or MS specific utilities etc..)
So.. IMHO.. only buy MS if you have a need to perform live... though many people perform live with Logic itself anyhow..

  • How do I transfer logic pro from my existing mac to my new macbook pro with no cd drive?

I have logic already installed on my mac desktop. I have just bought a macbook pro and I am trying to install my legitimate copy of logic onto my new mac, unfortunately Apple in their wisdom have removed the cd drive so the simplest option i.e. use the install disc is no longer an option..
I have tried using 'remote disc' but my desktop is not transferring the information this way, apparently it is because I have not upgraded to yosamite. I don't want to upgrade to yosamite as it has compatibility issues with another music software I use (maschine). Basically if I upgrade to yosamite I won't be able to use maschine.
If anyone out there can offer me a solution to my problem I will be very grateful. thanks

Assuming you are talking about the boxed set of Logic Studio (Logic Pro 9) on DVDs the only solutions are to either borrow or purchase an external CD/DVD drive and use that with your new MBP.
Amazon sells a very reasonably priced 'Amazon Basics' external CD/DVD drive suitable for the process...
    http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Portable-External-Optical-Drive/dp/B003M0NT1M /ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416924310&sr=8-1&keywords=CD+DVD+external+drive+amazon+ basics
Do NOT try and copy Logic across from your Mac to your MBP using something like Time Machine or Migration Assistant... 99% of the time, doing so results in all kind of weird issues later on.
Just install Logic pro 9 plus all it's content from scratch using the DVDs provided with Logic Studio Boxed set.....

  • How do I stop Logic Pro X from trying to load a 32 bit plug-in that's no longer installed

How do I stop Logic Pro X from trying to load a 32 bit plug-in that's no longer installed?  I noticed it occurring on projects where I used Miroslav Philharmonik. I keep getting prompted when opening the projects. I uninstalled Miroslav thinking it would stop, but it didn't.

  • Logic Pro X, certain patches don't work. Why?

In Logic Pro X, certain patches (like "magical bells" under synthesizer bells, for example), when clicked, show "no output" and don't work. Why? I bought the full version of Logic Pro X, is there anything additional that I need to purchase for those to work?

No, no need to chase any pur.
You can clickhold that No Output slot and assign an output.
...but for that to work you need to have chosen your audio hardware in the preferences, of course. And while you're at it, make sure you also have all Advanced Tools enabled.
