Logic Pro X - How do I record my voice over existing tracks (via a mike and audio interface) without hearing those tracks on the speaker. I have headphones plugged into the interface but it doesn't stop in coming out of the speakers?

I'm new to Logic Pro X and can't work out how to record my voice over existing tracks without them playing over the speaker. I'm using a Sure mike through an audio interface and have headphones plugged into the interface?

Can't stop sound coming out of the sub - T7700

I was testing something today and noticed that even when i have only audio input plugged in, say the green front jack and have no other speakers attached - Even if i have the jack plugged into the front, or side sound still comes out of the sub. I've tried it with the front and side speakers disconnected and connected all while no input is in the center/sub connection - no matter the combination the sub still plays?Why? how can i have no sub at all?Should mention i've also tried it with the upmix switch in all positions and i'm using an audigy2 zs card not that it would matter though i guess.

It's worth bearing in mind that speakers really shouldn't do bass redirection, it should be the job of the receiver/decoder. Quite why Creative do things the other way around is anyone's guess. Aaanyway, have you tried simply turning the bass dial right the way down on the volume control box for the speakers? That's the best I can suggest.

Good morning! I do voice overs. In my studio I STILL have a PC and use adobe audition. For my day to day business I know have a MAC BOOK PRO. I am going on vacation and need to record on my MacBook Pro with Garage Band.
I have successfully set up my Mic(studio Projects C1) and my travel PreAmp (MAudioDuo) to record in Garage Band. All I need is dry voice. I have recorded a track but need to save is as an MP3. The test track I recorded is about 15 seconds long but yet plays for 30 seconds...I have deleted everything after the voice but it still seems like the track is longer. I have to put in MP3 format. How do I do this? This is a nice program but looks like it is too much for what I need it to do. So, any other recommendations on more appropriate software is appreciated if needed.

I have a gen3 iPod touch. It shows the battery charging when I plug into my PC, but will not show as an extra drive in "my computer" and won't show up in iTunes either. Can anyone help please? I have exhausted all "help" options.

I am trying to get my iPod touch (3rd gen), to show up in "My Computer" and in iTunes. I am using a usb cable and it is connecting okay, because the battery is charging. It won't show up as an external drive on my computer, and nothing in iTunes either. I have used the exact same usb cable and plugged into the exact same usb port with a different iPod touch without having this problem. I have swapped them back and forth and it seems to be a problem with this particular iPod, because the other shows up just fine. I have already downloaded and installed the latest iTunes update, and I already restarted the computer afterwards. The other iPod is a 4th gen touch, but that really shouldn't matter. I would greatly appreciate anyone's help on this matter. I know that I can't be the first person that this has happened to. Thanks.

None of any of the pictures on Facebook can be opened and seen on the website, I have absolutely no problem on Safari, but I would much rather use Firefox..What the heck is going on????

You need to ask the people who sold it to you. Doesn't sound like it has anything to do with Reader.
However, you should be wary of devices that automatically try to open files when plugged in. They can also infect your computers with all kinds of viruses or malware.

Logic Pro 9 When I open a file which contains a composition of many midi and audio tracks, no sounds play or some tracks are playing the wrong sounds. The project was working perfect when it was saved and closed down.

You can use these steps to disable the snippets on the about:home page:
* Set the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref to an empty string on the about:config page
* Open about:home page in a tab
* Open Web Console in this tab (Firefox menu button or Tools > Developer)
* Run this command via the command prompt: gSnippetsMap.clear()
* Close the tab with the about:home page
* Close and restart Firefox

Hey Nick,
The first thing I would check is to make sure your headphones are plugged all the way in. It may require an extra amount of force to get them to click and pop all the way in.
If that isn't the case, try a hard reset of your iPod. How you do that depends on what model iPod you have. See your iPod's User Guide for more assistance, or use this page to help locate your model and then troubleshoot your iPod from there.

IPhoto added my logic pro icons how do I remove them?

iPhoto added all of the icons and images from Logic Pro when I purchased Logic Pro. I don't want these types of images managed in iPhoto, i.e. program icons and internal images for software.
I've heard that if I delete them from iPhoto it will erase them from the hard disk, which could cause some problems with Logic Pro.
How can I get these photos out of iPhoto and stop iPhoto from doing this in the future? Thanks

You can delete the photo from iPhoto without removing them from where the originally came from, the Logic Pro application. It appears you accidentally dragged the LP app into the iPhoto window or onto the iPhoto icon in the dock and imported all image files in that app into your library.
Drag the icons in iPhoto to the iPhoto Trash and empty the iPhoto trash bin. If you're running iPhoto 9 or later those image files will end up in the Trash bin on the Dock. Empty the Trash bin in the Dock and they will be removed from the hard drive.

In Logic Pro 9, how many midi controlled software instruments do you get and is there possibility to download more as it says 40 on the programs info on the Mac Store, as i intend to compose on it but with only 40 instruments it's not really worth it.
So i was just wondering whether it let you download more for free.

Yes: I too am interested in the software instruments available in Logic Pro: one has to be a bit wary of the jam packs because there don't seem to be many solo instruments included. But I looked at the Logic screen in an Apple store the other day, and it worked like GarageBand in
this respect: you created a new track choosing the software instrument option and a whole lot of instruments came
up in a column on the right: lots of solo wind instruments, plenty of keyboards and guitars of course and not very many solo strings, only one violin, in the world music subsection under Irish fiddle. Yehudi Menuhin

I've recently messed up my Mac OS X Lion by deleting Aperture, but I need to get my data out of the computer. I've tried to repair it using DU, but it said I needed to backup all my data and reinstall the OS. How do I backup my data to an external drive?
And by the way, I've got an important project in Final Cut Pro X. Is there any way I can back it up (including fxs and positions of the clip) ?

You need to back up 2 folders, Final Cut Events and Final Cut Projects which by default are located on your Movies Folder. You can always check by clicking on a clip inside Fianl Cut X and selecting Show in Finder in the contextual menu for the selected clip.
