Logic remote wlan problems

Hey, guys,
I'm experiencing connectivity problems when trying to connect Logic Remote with an iMac running Logic Pro X. Both in the same network of course, all other apps requiring to connect the iPad with any Mac in the network work very well, internet is fine etc. Seems Logic remote connects for a second, than it disconnects again, saying WLAN is weak or unreliable (which isn't the case), sometimes no connection at all. All operating systems up to date.

I also had this WLAN Problems and solved it:
1.) Try to remove all controllers you added earlier (also Logic Remote) under setup..
2.) Restart Logic an Logic Remote -> This should re-add Logic Remote to your Controllers.

  • Logic Remote issues after updating to iOS 8, problem solved!

Has anyone else has been experiencing connectivity issues with Logic Remote after updating to iOS 8?
After updating to iOS 8 I could no longer connect so I sent a feedback report to Apple and got a response that cleared up my problem immediately:
Navigate to the following directory on your desktop system running GarageBand:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.garageband10/Data/Library/Preferences/
You can quickly navigate there using the “Go” menu in Finder -> Go To Folder (shift-command-G), then copy this path:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.garageband10/Data/Library/Preferences/
In the Preferences folder should be a file named "com.apple.garageband10.cs”.
Make sure GarageBand is not running and delete the  "com.apple.garageband10.cs” file.
Relaunch GarageBand and see if you should now be able to connect.
The same can be done for Logic by navigating to:
    ~/Library/Preferences/
And deleting "com.apple.logic.pro.cs" and restarting Logic.
Note that doing this will fix Logic Remote connectivity issues (and possibly other problems with latency and mixer functionality)  but will also delete any other Controller settings that you've configured with Logic, if you happen to be using another controller of some sort.

Note: Removing the CS (Controller Surface) plist is a part of the basic troubleshooting procedures for Logic Pro (and GB)

  • Logic Remote for iPad always gets disconnected from paired iMac..?

    Hello,
I recently downloaded GarageBand 10.0.0 and Logic Remote for the iPad, the thing is, it only stays connected when:
    (1) GarageBand does not have any open projects or
    (2) When the project is about to be closed, as the user is being prompted to: "Don't Save", "Cancel" or "Save"
I know Logic Remote connects to the Mac I am using since it tells me to open a project first, then right after I open a project,
    logic remote always tells me
"The connection to <computer name> was lost. Please select the Mac you wish to connect to"
The app then tries to reconnect and reconnect, but nothing happens.
By accident, as I tried to close the project in the Mac, whose snapshot is attached in this posting:
the app then is able to remotely control garageband...
When I cancel the project closing, the problem persists...
This actually renders the app useless...
Have you guys encountered this situation.?

I am experiencing the identical problem as janjerick.
    To reproduce the problem:
    1) On iMac OS 10.9, Launch Garageband 10.0  - choose Empty Project.  Created a "software instrument" track.
    2) On iPad, Launch Logic Remote 1.02  and select the hosting iMac computer.
    3) Connection seemed to come up on the iPad, then prompty goes away.  "The connect to <host> was lost".
    4) The connection doesn't come back... UNTIL I try to dismiss the project on iMac Garageband. The instant I get the "Do you want to save the document" dialog -- Boom!  The Logic Remote connection is established.  And then the Logic Remote seems to be able to control Garageband (while the 'Do you want to save the document' dialog is in the foreground on Garageband.).   But as soon as I try to go back into a project on Garageband, the connection is lost.
Here's the kicker: I also have Logic Pro X on the same iMac and the "Logic Pro" remote app is working PERFECTLY with that.  But as soon as I flip back to Garageband, no go.
    Anyone else?

  • Logic Remote iPad app not working

I've have Logic Pro X installed on Mountain Lion and the latest IOS on an iPad (3rd gen) running Logic Remote but can't get them to work together.
After I choose the Mac pop up boxes keep appearing with either an option to re-connect to Mac or the attached error. (In the backround I can see the clock ticking that's synced with the Logic project playing on the Mac?
I've never had any problems with my wi fi and all the other apps work fine (including other controller apps that communicate with Logic Pro 9?)
I've tried removed the iPad from the Control Surface Setup page in Logic Pro X and selecting it again from the iPad app (which re-adds it correctly into the Setup in Logic Pro X)
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    A.

Amazingly this worked, thanks. I'd already removed and let it add automatically a few times and it didn't work properly even after authorizing it.
I removed it from the setup and then added it back in manually myself (New, Install, Apple Logic Remote).
Then I ran the iPad app, and I ended up with 2 Logic remotes in the Control Surfaces Setup. The iPad logic remote wasn't coming up with any errors but all the faders were on 0 when they weren't on the Logic Pro X on the mac.
I then deleted the first Logic Remote in the Control Surfaces Setup and it seems to work. Thanks!

  • How do I get Logic remote to work?

I downloaded Logic Remote to my iPad but when I open it a message appears saying there is no active Logic or Garagband in use on my iMac.
The message remains fixed and I cannot do anything else other than exit from the app. I only have the single wi-fi network and both machines are connected to even though the error message suggests otherwise.
I hard wired my iPad/iMac connection and still no success. I noted when using iTunes that the app was not listed as being installed so I deleted it from my iPad and reinstalled it but still got the same results.
There is no support help for Logic Remote (at least if there is it is well hidden) so does anyone out there have any idea what the problem might be?
I am using Snow Leopard on my iMac (OSX 10.6.8.) and iOS 7.0.4 on my iPad.

Connection issues seem to be common.
Creating ad-hoc connection and rebooting you Mac are suggested.

  • Remote Control and Remote View Problem

    Hi,
I work at a High School running Netware 6.0 SP5 and Zen works 4.01 ir7.
Remote Control and Remote View works great but I noticed one problem.
We have a logo of the school that is forced down on to the desktop when a
user logs in through group policies. This logo works perfect for the
desktop wall paper and loads every time a user logs in.
When I Remote Control or Remote View a computer the users desktop wall
paper turns from the logo being forced down through group policies to the
desktop to a blue desktop wall paper.
I would prefer the desktop wall paper staying the schools logo when I
Remote Control or Remote View because if the desktop wall paper changes to
the blue color I mentioned above when I Remote Control or Remote View the
users computer, they will know that someone is taking over their computer
which sometimes we dont want them knowing.
We have Windows 98SE computer running Novell Client 3.4 and we have some
computers running Windows XP Professional SP1 and Windows XP Professional
    SP2 both running Novell Client 4.91 SP2.
The Remote Control and Remote View problem of the desktop wall paper
changing on the users computer occurs on all operating systems mentioned
    above.
Is there a solution to my above problem? When Remote Controlling and
Remote Viewing someone's computer I don't want the desktop wall paper to
    change.
    Thanks!

  • Logic Remote for iPad freezes on Smart Help

Mine just endlessly displays "Preparing Help Content Download" when I select smart help and nothing happens. Anyone else have this or have a fix?
    Thanks

Mine just says that Smart Help couldn't be downloaded, but it will happen next time Logic Remote is launched....which never happens.
I've still never seen Smart Help. Sorry no fix, but I'd suggest you report this to Apple:

  • Logic remote for iPad not showing all mix channels

When i use my ipad with logic remote app I will pull up a song and the mixer view within logic remote and it will only show some of the mixer channels...I will swipe right and left to find all the others channels but they are not there...Does anyone know why this is?     For example I pulled up one song and i went all the way over the the left on the ipad mixer channels and it only allowed me to view the aux channels and a couple of other channels  but i wanted to mix the main vocal amongst other tracks, and they were no where to be found withing logic remote...

Well, I still have this issue with Yosemite and iOS 8.1. It is over a year! Adding 8 empty audio tracks to the top brings the tracks into view but they are not the correct colour as the track meters and colours are offset by 8 channels.
This topic was ridiculously difficult to search for. I couldn't find it after I logged in and the site sent my iPhone to the rss feeds page. Why? I did not get to this topic result until I got to the word "showing" after typing in the topic from my now logged out iPhone. Again. Why?

  • Logic Remote iPad app can not find my iMac.

I have tried every thing suggested on here to try and fix this but the Logic Remote iPad app can't find my iMac running Logic Pro X.
They are on the same Wi-Fi network, I've disabled the firewall, turned on file sharing, deleted and reconnected to my Wi-Fi on both my iMac and my iPad, removed all other CS's etc etc etc. Any thoughts about anything I may not have tried?

  • How many logic remotes can you have

I love the logic remote app and was wondering if it was possible to have it on multiple Ipads running at the same time with different views.
This would be awesome to build a console of IPADs.

Nope - only one LogicRemote connection to Logic.
I'm sure that will come in the next upgrade. THis LogicRemote is such an amazin app with so many features and functionalities, it screams to have multiple LogicRemote connected at once.
    Hope that helps

  • WiFi (WLAN) problem - in the same room a iOS 5 device connects, iOS 6 not

    Hi all,
I won't say that it's a proof for the iOS 6 WiFi/WLAN problem. BUT, it's evident that my iPhone 4 with iOS 5 sees all WLAN-networks and connects - my new iPad with iOS 6 doesn't! And I'm using the two devices in the same room. In addition my new iPad didn't have connection problems before updating to iOS 6.
Apple Software Engineers - please help and release the next update to fix it

I guess the weblogic.jar is not included in the studio.
    So, i added weblogic.jar (Weblogic 10.3) and wlclient.jar (Weblogic 10.3)
It is working in my simple java code. But, still not working in BPM Studio.

Hi. i downloaded logic remote to my iPad 2 and tried to connect it to my garageband on my macbook pro but it wont find the macbook... ive tried eveything, like creating my own internet, or connecting via bluetooth but nothing will work, please help me..

    Hello Rasmus Teuchler,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with the Logic Remote.  I found a few resources that I think might help.
First, I recommend checking to see if Garageband is the application controlled on the Logic Remote app:

If you are still not able to connect with Garageband, I recommend the following articles for additional troubleshooting steps (these articles refer to Logic Pro X, but the steps are relevant for Garageband as well):
