Logic sends 'Connection failure' message three times on loading & quitting

Hi
I'm not quite sure why Logic should want to connect to the internet upon loading or quitting but it seems to want to. It always comes up with the error message "Connection failure could not connect to server" 3 times on loading and usually once or twice on quitting.
Why is this ? I have a broadband connection but I do not understand why logic wants to connect to the internet in this way.
Can anyone explain and more importantly, stop it happening ?

Connectivity Failure Message - but I am connected

I am one of 2 mac users in a dominate 250+ pc user company.
I access several shared drives and printers through ethernet IP addresses.
I keep getting a connectivity failure message, but I am connected to everything as best we can tell.
How can I get the Mac to tell me what I am not connecting to that it is searching for? the IT department has been changing IP addresses and we know this started at the same time (for the work location), but we really can't find an IP address that isn't active in the system settings for the network.
This also happens to me when I take the computer home a lot, but I always figured it was looking for one of the drives I connect to when I am at work, so I was ignoring it. Now I am not..... ignoring that is.
The generic failure message pops up repeatedly daily and is very annoying.

You best bet is to check the console logs for information about what is happening.

Can not connect to the App store I keep getting a connection failure message. Mail and Safari are working fine. Also Iphoto wont update to newer version and itunes does open up properly.

I have recently bought a new imac. Imported all my files etc. from my G5 using Timemachine.
Iphoto requires updating but wont!
itunes wont open up properly the text is wrong!!
I keep getting a connection failure message when trying to visit the App store.
Safari and Mail are working fine.
My Apple Id is also fine as it works with my ipad.
Any suggestions?

If you check for software updates using the App Store in OS X 10.8 and get "NSURLErrorDomain error -1100" the problem may be with your Software Update preferences. This is particularly likely if you were using a custom Apple Software Update server. To solve the problem, quit the App Store, move the following two files (if present) to the trash, restart, and only then rerun App Store updates:

Form_trigger_failure in when-validate-record fired message three times

Hello all,
I have a problem with one of my forms. Indeed, I have used when-validate-record trigger to validate fields block.
So, when user fills a duplicate I display an error message with two choices. Accept or proceed to change. The action button 1 is impeccable.
But when the user clicks the button 2 of the message, I raise form_trigger_failure exception. What is strange is that my error message appears three times if I get out of the record by the mouse but once I get out of line by the tab.
Is there someone who can help me on that?

Thank you for your answer but I still working without success.
I found that the trigger W-V-R is fired thee times so the value of :CTRL2.MATCH_REC is recalculated every time (as shown by Kevin D Clarke about validating duplicate http://forums.oracle.com/forums/profile.jspa?userID=8905) witch is correct.
If I affect 0 or null to :CTRL2.MATCH_REC, it's not raising finally the form_trigger_failure (F_T_F), so it's working has button 1.
Note that I found after catching others exception (exception when others then...) a 100501 non-oracle exception.
I don't know if my repetition is caused by this exception?
Note again that, when I put other statement instead of raising F_T_F, it's working fine. His just only when I raise F_T_F that I have this behaviour.
Do you have any idea ?

HT1688 I cannot send pictures by message or email anymore, just quit working, but can send to my husbands iphone

I have not been able to send pictures in messages or email lately, unless I send it to my husband's Iphone. I never have had a problem before.

Can not send e-mail messages at times.

Most of the time I am able to send e-mail but sometimes I get a message that says cannot send message using the server smtp.charter.net I do not need a password for this server and when I run diag I get green connection for both the pop server as well as smpt server. However the message will not send. Any ideas other then deleteing the message, because everything work fine after deleteing it.

Yes, I got a green light for the server not sure if its port 25 though did not look. I deleted the message so I have to wait for it to happen again. This is an iMac 24 inch so it does not move around. I have it connected to the wireless home network and all other wireless routers are also encripted so it sould not switch routers.
I was thinking that there might have been a bad char in the message that caused the trouble. Other thoughts, is that its a group message that hangs the server from time to time. Any ther ideas please let me know. Thanks.

Server Connection Failure Message Repeats Infinitely

When I launch Aperture, I get a pop up window message that reads "Connection failed...the server xxxxx.xxxxx.xxxxx. may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again. [OK button]"
The server that it refers to is an airport network disk I used to have, but don't have anymore. Aperture constantly pops this window up in an infinite loop and won't stop. You click "OK" then it comes up immediately again. I literally cannot get anything done in this program while the window annoyingly pops up over and over.
I am this close to switching to Lightroom. How do I stop this window from popping up?

Didi you have any libraries or vaults on this disk that Aperture might be trying to get to?
I you open Finder and goto *Go->Connect to Server...* is the network disk listed? If it is delete it. If its not there open the *recent Servers* pulldown by clicking on the last icon on the right (little circle with downward facing disclosure triangle) and see if its listed there. Clear the list by clicking *Clear Recent Servers*. Restart Aperture and see if that helps.

Why do I have to delete a mail message three times?

I've been meaning to ask about this for some time, so the problem is not new, but whenever I want to delete a mail from the inbox, I delete it, then I have to delete it from the Mail trash, then I have to delete it a third time from Mail- On My Mac.
I don't mind deleting twice, I understand that messages get moved into a trash folder (and it's good that they're there in case you need to reference them occasionally), but i'd really like to not have to delete the third time.

I understand that you are concerned about the amount of updates being sent to your Photosmart 6520.
I would like to help.
That is actually a lot more then normal. One every few weeks sure. four or more a day? Nope, not normal.
Perhaps the same update is not updating properly so it tries again later.
I would try setting a manual DNS.
The following post by happytohelp01 has steps and screen shots to perform this.

For the Manual Preferred DNS Server please use 8.8.8.8 and for the Alternate Preferred DNS server please use 8.8.4.4. These are Google’s public DNS servers. If you find that those DNS settings don’t work, some customers have had success using the Level3 DNS servers. I have included About.com’s Free & Public DNS Servers.

Time Capsule connection failure

My Airport Time Capsule has a "Connection failure" message in my finder. The actual device flahes orange, it has been doing this for a while but it hasn't been a problem until now. I've always been able to connect through it to WiFi and backup wirelessly. Now My wifi is connected but I can't back up my time machine. I'm not sure how to "reset" it, and it doesn't seem to have any other problem when I looked at the diagnostics. The "Connect As" doesn't work either as it says I need to check my network connection.

No luck reboot the whole network.. restart in correct order.
Modem.. TC.. wait 2min for each.
Clients.
No luck.. are you on Mavericks.. we will need to detail a whole full network reset to factory and overhaul.
To do that we need full network info. Models and versions of everything.

Connection Failure / May Not Exist or is Unavailable

Got an AirPort Extreme (802.11n, version 7.4.2), connected to a Belkin ADSL2+ Wired Modem. There are 2 Western Digital 2Tb HDDs (My Book + My Book Studio Edition) connected to the AirPort that I'm using for backups. One is used by Time Machine (OS backup) and the other by Super Duper (work backup).
Have been having some trouble with the two drives being unavailable to connect to. Happens once every day or so. At that stage I can see it listed under Shared (in the finder) but when I click on the Connect As option (upper right, finder window) I get a Connection Failed window (The server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again).
File sharing is enabled, "with AirPort Extreme password", and Remember password in my keychain checked. Guest access is "not allowed", it's not sharing the disks over the Internet and it's not configured for Windows File Sharing.
If I manually restart the AirPort they become available again, and work as expected. I'd like to fix this so I don't need to keep restarting. Any thoughts?

I'm having the same problem, but a slightly different scenario. I just setup my network and my wireless Macbook Pro can access the external drives but my iMac which is connected to the Base Station through ethernet cannot.
Same deal though. I can see the Base Station in the Finder, but then I get a connection failure message when I click on the icon.

Connectivity failure when authorizing

I've been trying to authorize my computer. First time id and first time on this computer. I consistently am met with a "connectivity failure" message despite the fact that my internet connection is working fine. I am able to login to the adobe website in order to post this - why can't I authorize my computer?

Dann habe ich den Virenscanner ausgeschaltet und die Firewall auch! Als es dann immer noch nicht ging, habe ich gemerkt, dass ich noch einen zweiten Virenscanner auf dem PC hatte. Nachdem ich diesen deinstalliert hatte, hat die Authorisierung geklappt.

Can't send or download messages after 31.4.0 update

Auto-update to 31.4.0 on/about Jan 14, 2015 has caused my install to fail sending and receiving messages. Initial program load and subsequent Get Messages requests go nowhere: The progress display in the page footer shows "[acct name]: Connecting to [host name]..." and nothing else happens. When attempting to send a new message, the Sending Message progress box appears, followed by the Send Message Error box containing the warning "Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to SMTP server [smtp host] failed. etc."
No changes to my Thunderbird configuration have been made prior to or since the auto-upgrade. When the upgrade occurred I noticed a momentary balloon message in the lower right corner of my display which vanished before I could read it.
I have tried deleting the signon password for the mail server, but on re-try Thunderbird does not ask for a new password. It is going south sooner than that.
Examination of the Error Console shows that, after a series of ordinary start-up entries, two final entries look fishy: (1) "mutating the [[Prototype]] of an object will cause your code to run very slowly; instead create the object... etc." followed by (2) "Could not read chrome manifest 'file:///C:/Program%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Thunderbird/chrome.manifest'." The latter file is indeed absent.
Note: My system is configured to read its profile info from portable drive X:\ instead of the C:\ drive.
I have accessed my mail server via webmail and there are indeed incoming files available to download.

Connection Failure Fix

I know that there have been a number of topics reporting Observe/Control connection failures in machines that otherwise seem quite functional via ARD (i.e. allow package installs and gathering of stats). I have read a few topics with solutions that necessitate nuking network prefs and using the terminal or setting up custom firewall settings.
I was having the same problem connecting to a new computer on a wireless LAN (i.e. control machine and client on the same network) after using Firewire Target disk mode to transfer over network settings from teh previous computer this one was replacing (client - Intel iMac, admin machine G4 Tibook, both using ARD 3.0).
Armed with what I had read I set out to create a custom firewall setting on the client machine but noticed when I went into System Prefs=>Sharing=>Firewall=>New=>Port Name (intending to select "Other" to set up something custom to open port 5900) that "VNC" was an option. I simply selected this (as it opens ports 5900-5902) and was instantly able to connect using Observe/Control functions.
Hope this fix streamlines the process for others who encounter this odd bug.

I've had problems with ARD2 & 3 with clients either unavailable or VNC-on where I can't do anything with them. Sometimes restarts work, and doing a ssh remote login and kickstarting works sometime. (although if I need to control the whole lab kickstarting 1 machine at a time isn't an option).
I tried your suggestion but "VNC-on still appeared in the ARD "current status" column. I'm not sure if it will solve anything in long run... any other suggestions?

iChat automatically opens when anyone sends me a message, even after I have quit out of iChat. How do I turn this off? I can't find any settings anywhere related to this.

This is somewhat the default.
I take it that this is an AIM name (Or one that logs in to the AIM Servers) ?
The AIM Service includes Off-Line IMs
By default it is On in iChat.
If the AIM Server is not sure it has your Settings it will ask if you want to receive Off Line Messages in an alongside IM from AIMSysMessage that pops up at the same time.
If you say No your account at AIM has that setting made.
If you do say No and want to change it later you have to Sign In on the aIM Web Site and go to Your Account Settings and change it.
Same if you are not getting Prompted or said Yes and now don't want them.
