Logic X Mixer Window sluggish

I open my old Logic 9 session and the mixer window opens very fast and scrolls back and forth very fast.
On Logic x the mixer window opens the first time blank and then a second later the faders appear. then scrolling back and forth is very slow. once the mixer is opened once then it opens with the fader graphics but opening the mixer window is very slow. A Lot of graphic things in Logic X are way slower then Logic 9.
Does anyone have a fix for this. I have logic on my SSD drive and I have 20 gigs of ram and a NVIDEA GTX-284 1g Graphics card

It's a project setting.
Here are three ways to combat this, from worst but easiest to best but requires a (tiny bit of) work:
(other than) 0. Disconnect the controller. : no more MIDI controller messages. If it is also your MIDI keyboard: obviously not really a solution.
1. Disable all incoming MIDI continuous controller messages via File>Project Settings>MIDI>Input Filter>Control Changes. : no more MIDI controller messages (Pan, Volume, Expression, Modulation), but : still Notes and Pitch bend.
2: Set up a software Transformer in the Environment to filter out MIDI contrller messager nr. 7 (Volume). : no more volume control. : all other MIDI messages still work. How to? This link: http://www.logicprohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=473376#p473376 shows how to set it up. It's LP 9, but this (the Environment) is functionally unchanged in LP X.
3. repair/fix/reset/replace the hardware controller so it stops doing that. : everything works as it should.

Logic pro x mixer window freezes main out VU with dual monitors

In a dual display configuration, with the mixer window in the left monitor and arrange window in the right monitor, the VU meter on the last channel strip to the far right of the mixer window(which is usually the main output) freezes and does not update. This seems to be a Logic X bug, since it does not occour in Logic 9 or any other DAW with the same configuration.
Can anyone confirm this or have a suggestion for a solution?

They have had four years to change this, and actually people were asking for it before that. If anyone knows a way, let us know, but I doubt it. Both Logic and Cubase are the only two DAWS that don't allow this....all the majors do....Pro Tools, DP, Studio One, etc. Cubase users have been asking for it forever as well.
I would have upgraded immediately if they had added this, they haven't, and I'm moving over to PT11.

Using Midi Reverb and chorus in the Mixer Window

When I have my 16 midi channels of my triton in open logic with midi data inside, and I turn the Reverb or Chorus button in the mixer window, there are no affects taking place. why?? Thanks

Does your Triton have the General MIDI effects onboard? If not, then that is why it is not working.
Your MIDI device must have the effects onboard. So please consult your Triton manual.

Logic has started behaving sluggishly

Hi
Logic has started behaving sluggishly & I have no idea why this should be.
For example if I try to create a new audio/instrument channel there is a definate pause before it is created almost as though the program is searching.
This causes things like the input meters on the mixer to freeze for a while before starting to work again & the song position line will stop, although the audio still plays back normally.
The CPU Meters don't show an excessive CPU usage & I have emptied my hard drive as much as possible onto an external Hard Drive.
All my Logic Projects are stored on an external drive.
Has anyone any idea why this has started to happen & any ideas as to how I can cure this?
My OS is Lion 10.7.3 & the machine is an iMac 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB of Ram.

Mix window resizes

Not sure if it's a bug or a feature. When I'm in the main window and hit "x" my mixer window appears, taking about 1/3 of the screen. I slide it up as far as it goes and everything is fine. I press "x" again, it disappears, I press "x" again it reappears and it stays where I put it. I open another window, either the notation or piano scroll, reset their sizes, everything is good.
However, if I go to another screenset then go back to my original screenset, press "x" I see the mixer window has resized itself. None of the other editors have resized themselves, only the mixer window.
I just noticed when returning to my original screenset if I hit the x to open the mixer, hit it again to close and hit it a 3rd time to open it again it resizes to where I set it.
I do not have my screenset locked
This behavior is a bug not a feature, right?

I've had problems with all versions of Logic Pro X with windows not "remembering" their position and size.
Often, but not always, I open a project and all the windows have resized as if to fit a much smaller monitor, all bunched up top left. (I use a 30" monitor.)
Locking screensets does nothing to prevent this. The behaviour is random and erratic.
Please send in a bug report to Logic Feedback about this - I've sent in a few already for various versions of Logic Pro.

Environment Channel Strips view like the mixer window?

Is there a chance to set the environment Channel Strips view like the mixer window?
The mixer has the new graphic view whereas the environment has the old LP9 graphic view

Mixer window can cause high CPU usage, crashes

This is probably one of the weirdest bugs I've seen for a while. Here are the steps that I reproduce it for me, maybe someone will want to try this out and see if they get the same.
1) Open an Empty Project template.
2) Create 16 instrument tracks when it gives you the dialog. (even 1 will be enough, but the effect is clearer the more tracks you create)
3) Open the mixer. Either in a window or in the pane.
4) Now create a "multi-timbral" instrument track with the plus button (use the checkbox there).
5) Select the 16th track, and now select one of the arrange tracks of the multi-timbral instrument.
6) Open up Activity Monitor from your Utilities folder in Finder and see how much Logic is taking up CPU. It should be significantly higher than the idle state. On my MBP it'll be around 80%.
This is not a problem in itself, because when reproducing it like this the high CPU usage goes away when you select another track and won't return if you select the multi-timbral instrument again.
However, I have sessions where this will continue happening with a multi-timbral instrument all the time. Not only that, I've had Logic crash when this starts happening. And this whole thing will slow down the UI considerably when it's active.
The workaround that seems to work for me is simply not keeping the mixer window/pane open.

This is one of the issue which has already been raised to Microsoft and hopefully a public build will be available soon in next cumulative update pack .
There are variety of reason for this starting for password mismatch or password not given , SFTP adapter unable to connect and so on .

Mixer window won't stay put w multiple monitors/screen sets

so i have 4 monitors, 3 of which are together and 1 off in another area for other stuff. this is done w 2 standard apple video (Nvivia GT120) cards and a few monitors. the middle one has a higher res than the others but not so much to need the dual dvi.
i want to display the mixer window across all 3 of my main monitors for a full overview in that particular screenset.
the PROBLEM here is that as soon as i switch to another screenset or even select that same screen set while viewing it, the mixer window snaps to allignment w the center monitor so that the left monitor has nothing on it and the right half of the mixer window has fallen off the right screen.
it works just fine when i only spread the mixer across two monitors. but even then sometimes it alligns to the center monitor after while.
is there some setting im missing here?

Audio Mixer Window Does Not Appear

I have been using Premiere Elements for years in various versions (current project in V8, just downloaded V9 trial. Tonight I went to use the Audio Mixer function and found that when I click on Audio Mixer in the dropdown menu it does not appear. I then downloaded the V9 trial and have the same issue.
Its hard to believe that I have not tried to do audio mixer functions in V8. But the last time I used the audio mixer in Premiere Elements it was accessed with a small button and worked find. Perhaps that was version 7. I have no memory of when I upgraded from 7 to 8.
Help! Why will the audio mixer window not appear?

I tried to access the Mixer from both the drop down menu below the right side panel and top of the interface on 8.0. Then I loaded 9.0. Same test same result first time around.
Then I read your note and tried both places again and the top of the interface worked in 9.0! Now both locations work in both versions. Weird.

OT: looking for Logic Audio for Windows XP

Apologies for the crass request, but I'm looking a cheap copy of Logic Audio that will run on Windows XP. I just found some old Logic Audio recordings I did years ago, but I've lost my LAGW 4 CD, and in any case, I'm not sure if LAGW 4 even worked on Windows XP .... I've come to love Macs at work, but I haven't saved enough to make the move at home.

I assume the key you refer to is analogous to the dongle I have for LAGW, and it sounds as if you are not willing to part with yours . I don't care much about stability, since my main interest at the moment is to do an audio track dump (with edits) and MIDI export so I can continue working in Cubase in the near term. It's frustrating ... there must be many thousands of people out there with unused copies of Logic Audio for Windows, especially since it was never very stable, even on Windows 95 .

Project mix window button problem

Hi all
This is driving me Nuts! When I press Window on my Project Mix Logic cycles though all the windows it will only stop when I random press zoom or other buttons I want to be able to press the window button and select each window on each press.
can any one help

Yeah... almost as funny as Logic using only 2 CPU's on a Quad. :-D
At least this one is more attributable to the ProjectMix itself, as opposed to Logic (Logic, at least, gives us the workaround).

In MVC, do i need a View or Page with flow logic for POPUP window

Hi All,
I have the below scenario using the MVC pattern.
I have a main view with 3 trays, each tray has two buttons, for example first tray has Create Order button. When I click on this button, I need a popup window to come with a tableview and a button(Create), where I select some rows and click on the button Create to create order.
But as per the MVC pattern I canu2019t call the view (popup) from another view(main view). So should I create a VIEW or PAGE WITH FLOW LOGIC for the popup? .
I need 6 popup to be called from the main view and once the function is done close the popup.
Please suggest me the flow for this scenario.

1. You can call the view in pop-up because you will be calling the controller using open.window.

Option2:
Ofcourse you can't bind the model in page becos those are 2 different things. But all you need to do is access the model to get some value. To know how to access the model from Page w/flow logic look at [this link|Passing model reference to a page in a Popup].
