Logical and technical routing ?

What is the difference between logical and technical routing ? Technical routing is a pipeline step and can be monitored only in the Integration Engine and is it that logical routing can be monitored only in RWB ?

Hi radhika,
Logical routing determines the logical receiver(s) for a given logical sender.
Logical routing comprises the following two steps:
Receiver determination during which you assign a receiver system to the sender interface of a sender.
Interface determination during which you specify a receiver interface in the receiver system.
Technical Routing is a Processing step of the Integration Engine that determines physical addresses of logical receivers.
The physical address (end point) of the required receiver is retrieved from the Integration Directory.
Both can be monitored in IE(ABAP) - SXMB_MONI.
Thanks,
Shweta

  • Logic and technics sx pr53 digital piano problem

I have a mac book pro, and have logic pro 8 set up on it. I have a technics sx pr53 digital piano, and I am having problems getting the sound through to the computer. Has anyone set this equipment up before? and could enlighten me on where to get the info I need. I have connected a usb to midi cable to the computer from the piano, and have a duet apogee audio interface connected to the computer.
    thanks

I had managed to get the keyboard connected to logic, after reading your advice, it worked fine.
However, now there is no sound, you can see that the signal is there when I play the keyboard and look at the transport bar. I have the record button on the gm device track switched on. If I record the keyboard you can see the notes show up on the track, (therefore part of the connection still seems to be working) but there is no sound at all when I hit the keys or replay the track.
I went into AMS in utilities to check and it is still showing the technics info.
Any ideas on what I could be missing?
    Thank you.

  • Technical Routing Vs Logical Routing

    Hi Friends,
Plz differentiale Technical Routing and Logical Routing

    <b>Routing</b>
defines how the messages flow via XI (where to, via what) receiver and interface determinations in directory
<b>Logical routing</b> involves the definition of business services/systems for your interface.i.e we difine the flow of messages in a system landscape
<b>Technical routing</b> involves the definition of the communication channels, adapters, etc.
From a general point of view, whenever you talk about logical routing as such, it deals with the security and authentication aspect. By mentioning the business sytems/services for the interface, you are clearly telling, which client and logical system name XI should talk to, to either send or receive data..
.and technical routing involves exactly how the data will be sent or received.
Routing is one of the steps of the pipeline process.

  • Logical ethernet interface routing

Is there a way to configure a default route to a logical ethernet interface, another one that isn't of the physical unit? I.e., to have different default routes to hme0 and hme0:1?

  • Noob needs help with Logic and Motu live setup.

    Hello everyone,
I'm a noob / semi noob who could use some help with a live setup using 2 MOTU 896HD's and Logic on a Mac.
    Here's the scenario:
I teach an outdoor marching percussion section (a drumline and a front ensemble of marimbas and vibes). We have an amazing setup of live sound to amplify and enhance the mallet percussion. There is a yamaha PA system with 2 subs and 2 mains which are routed through a rack unit that processes the overall PA balance. I'm pretty sure that the unit is supposed to avoid feedback and do an overall cross-over EQ of the sound. Other then that unit, we have 2 motu896hd units which are routed via fire-wire. I also have a coax cable routing the output of the secondary box to the input of the primary box (digital i/o which converts to ADAT in (i think?)..?
    Here's the confusion:
There are more then 8 inputs being used from the ensemble itself, so I need the 16 available inputs to be available in Logic. I was lead to believe that the 2nd motu unit would have to be sent digitally to the 1st motu unit via coax digital i/o. Once in Logic, however, I cannot find the signal or any input at all past the 8th input (of the 1st unit).
    Here's the goal:
All of my performers and inputs routed via firewire into a Mac Mini running OSX and Logic pro.
I want to be able to use MainStage and run different patches of effects / virt. instruments for a midi controller keyboard / etc.
I want to be able to EQ and balance the ensemble via Logic.
    Here's another question:
How much latency will I be dealing with? Would a mac mini with 4gb of ram be able to handle this load? With percussion, I obviously want the sound as latency free as possible. I also, however, want the flexibility of sound enhancement / modification that comes with Logic and the motu896hd units.
Any help would be REALLY appreciated. I need the routing assistance along with some direction as to whether or not this will work for this type of application. I'm pretty certain it does, as I have spoken with some other teachers in similar venues and they have been doing similar things using mac mini's / logic / mainstage / etc.
    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

You'll definitely want to read the manual to make sure the 896HDs are connected together properly. ADAT is a little tricky, it's not just a matter of cabling them together. Go to motunation.com if you need more guidance on connecting multiple devices. Beyond that initial hookup, here are a couple of quick suggestions:
    1. Open CueMix and see if both devices are reported there. If not, your connections aren't correct. Be sure to select 44.1kHz as your sample rate, otherwise you are reducing the number of additional channels. For instance at 88.2kHz you would get half the additional channels via ADAT.
    2. You may need to create an aggregate device for the MacBook to recognize more than the first 896HD. Lots of help on this forum for how to do that. Again, first make sure you have the 896HDs connected together properly.
    3. As for latency with Mainstage on the Mini, no way to know until you try it. Generally MOTU is fantastic for low latency work but Mainstage is a question mark for a lot of users right now. If the Mini can't cut the mustard, you have a great excuse to upgrade to a MacBook Pro.

  • You have to love HP products and their customer service and technical support

My daughter has one of your ZV5000 notebooks. She has been very happy with it until the last few months when she started having charging issues. After investigation I found out that HP had a class action suit over this very problem. I called customer support and I emailed customer support trying to get HP to live up to it's obligation and fix it. I got no where and after several hours I gave up. She decided to get a new notebook. She bought a Compact Presario CQ50-130US from Staples. When she got it home she tried to connect to my wireless router and couldn't. We called technical support and spend the following 2 hours trying to get it to connect. I spoke to several techs none of which knew what they were talking about. They would read step by step from some try this if that doesn't work try this directions they must have. If that wasn't bad enough we constantly had to ask for it to be repeated because we couldn't understand them. They spoke English but with such heavy accents you couldn't understand what they were saying. The last tech was going to call Comcast my internet provider. I told him they provided the internet service not the router. He couldn't understand that. After keeping me on the phone for 15 minutes he came back to say he couldn't get threw and would call me back when he did. There customer service must be as good as yours is to get threw to. I got a call 24hrs later to ask if everything was alright. They never fixed the problem how could it be alright? By then she had decided to return the new one and buy a product other than HP or Compact. I would up fixing her old laptop something HP should have paid for but didn't. I have always trusted and respected the HP name. I am very sorry to see what it has become to stand for. Inferior products that you don't stand behind and customer and technical support that can't speak English and don't have a clue as to what they are doing. How sad! Do you think any of my family or friends will be buying an HP product?

well, this IS a means of finding a resolution for some issues. so why SHOULDNT they read this forum? i can assure you that there are people who are not just reading stuff off a book or a document. in fact, that is the biggest cliche's that exists today.

  • Logical and Physical Standby on same Node

Is it possible to have a logical and physical standby database for a primary database on the same node (i.e. primary on NodeA, logical and physical database of primary on NodeB)?
Will there be any conflicts with data guard broker with this configuration or any problems I may encounter?

From a technical point of view this is possible. Your standby node should be powerful enough to handle 2 instances. For even higher availability 3 dedicated nodes would be better. When Node B is down, both physical and logical standby are also down.

  • Use of Business Systems and Technical Systems

    Hi
What is the use of having business systems and technical systems in SAP XI. I don't see any configuration details needed to create these. I understand that it logically divides the interfaces into different business systems but is that the only use? The only place I see the real configuration done is in the adapter configuration.
    Vijay

    Vijay,
The technical system actually works better for our non-SAP systems than the SAP systems. Here is our scenario:
We have an AS400 business system that uses a file adapter to send files to XI and then uploaded to SAP ECC. The file adapter does not ask for the system information so we can switch between dev and test by changing the DNS address in the technical system entry (dynamic reference like a property file lookup). The communication channel settings do not have to change.
The receiver is SAP using an RFC adapter which requires the system ID, and client (hard coded).  Everytime we change clients, we have to change the settings in the RFC adapter. This is more to your point of why do we have a technical system if we have to provide the settings in the adapter as well. The RFC adapter should read the application server and client values from it's parent business system so the changes don't have to be made everytime we point to a new client( such as QA). This is irritating.
So maybe the theory is good but the implementation could be better in this case.
    Thanks,
    Troy

  • SOAP - XI - RFC.  XI not perform Adapter call after Technical Routing.

    Hi, All!
I have a problem with XI.
My configuration (all calls are synchronous):
SOAP adapter -> XI mapping -> RFC adapter call to R/3
Most of the time it's works correctlly!
But some times XI does not call outbound RFC adapter after "Technical Routing". And there is no error in XI Monitor, but this XML message marked like "scheduled". So the SOAP adapter returns "Timeout error".
I have compared messages in XI monitor for a successful call and a unsuccessful one. There is no difference in "Routings" and "Mapings" they are the same, except for in the unsuccessful message no "Adapter call" at all!
Do you know how to solve such a problem?
    Thank you!!

try to register all queues in SXMB_ADM -> Manage queues.
I think that should help you solve the issue.

  • Message not  processed after technical routing

    Hi ,
I have a SOAP ->ABAP Proxy (R/3) scenario that sometimes not processed completely. When checking the message in SXMB_MONI I notice a grey dot (which means log version) in the status column next to the message,  Upon opening the message I can't see any errors.
The message has gone through the following steps.
    Inbound Message
    Receiver Identification
    Interface Determination
Message Branch According to Receiver List
    Request Message Mapping
    Technical Routing
But final stage call adapter not executed so i came to know that response message not reached to XI.
This is occuring once or twice for every 25 to 30  messages.
Can any one provide some suggestions to rectify the above issue.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Arun.

    Check out the below things,
    1. Check for which input data it is giving. (Any specific data).
    2. This may happen becaus of time out. (Huge data processing)
    Also check out below link,
    ['Log Version' status in 'SXMB_MONI']
Resend the message from sender and it will work properly.
Log version means "Waiting for response" and liable to fail if response not received on time.

  • What's different between busniess system and technical system in SLD?

I can enter product(ect.ERP r/3) , components(ect.FI-CO module) to technical system , then enter technical system to busniess system  but ,who can explain  what's different between busniess system and technical system in SLD, exactly?
    THANKS!

Technical Systems are of following types:
Technical systems are application systems that are installed in your system landscape. An example of an application system is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) server. In the SLD, there are five types of technical systems:
    1.)WEBas java,
    2.)Standalone JAVA
    3.)Third party
    4.)Web as ABAP
    1) Web AS Java
Web AS Java systems consist of one or more instances and each instance is installed on a separate host. An instance itself consists of cluster nodes that can communicate with each other.
    2.)Standalone Java
Standalone Java technical systems are standalone Java applications that are installed in a computer system from an administration perspective. They can also be installed as an operating system service or as a daemon
Web AS java belongs to the NetWeaver Comes with both ABAP and Java, Standalone instread comes separate from the netWeaver.
    3) Third party technical sytem
It can be any of the technical sytem. let us say if you want to send a file to R/3, here the file reside in your local system. for that you can define your local system as a third party technical system.
All those machines that comes under non sap, belongs to the third party.
4.) Web AS ABAP technical systems, ranging from any SAP system to an APO server or CRM server, are based on the same Basis Component (BC), which includes the ABAP interpreter, ABAP Dictionary, ABAP Workbench, and so on. A dedicated database, which stores most of the data of the BC and the application components, is associated with the system.
    Also refer : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/24/8fa93e08503614e10000000a114084/content.htm
Business systems are logical systems, which function as senders or receivers within XI. Business systems can be SAP systems or third-party systems.
Depending on the associated technical system, the following types of business systems are defined in the SLD:
    · Web AS ABAP
A business system, which is associated with a Web AS ABAP.
A business system, which is associated with a Web AS ABAP, can play the role either of an application system or an integration server. An integration server is the central component of XI, which provides a framework for the exchange of information among various internal and external entities of a company. The integration server facilitates the interaction between the different operating systems and applications across internal and external networks.
    · Web AS Java
A business system, which is associated with a Web AS Java.
    · Standalone
A business system, which is associated with a standalone Java application.
    · Third-party
A business system, which is associated with a third-party technical system.

  • Fixed a problem with OSX-Logic and a MOTU 828MkII

I was having problems with my 828MkII using it with a new G5 and OS10.3.9. There were massive drop-outs.
It was a new computer and everything was installed correctly and cleanly - there was no other hardware installed other than the MOTU, and no other software other than Logic 7 - everything was done properly and tested over and over, but the problem persisted.
I still had my old G4 with an older OS9 version of Logic, and when I went back to try the MOTU with this set up, it worked flawlessly. This fact made me suspect that the core audio driver was the problem, so I tried all the tricks I've seen in forums - reset the MOTU - uninstalled and re-installed. Upgraded my firmware. Even tried OS10.4 with old drivers new drivers, and still nothing worked.
Then out of desperation I tried a new firewire cable and everything worked fine.
I went back and tried the set up on my OS9 machine a few times and the MOTU worked flawlessly under the Asio2 drivers. What I learned is that OSX and core audio must use firewire differently because the cable did not work with that set up.
I couldn't believe it. It's like finding out that a guitar cable only works with a Les Paul or something wierd like that.
I'm sure someone out there must know the technical difference and why this cable works fine under OS9 (Asio2) but not OSX (core audio).
I'm posting this because if I had read such a post - I would have tried a new cable as the first thing - but I had myself convinced that it could not be the cable. I still don't believe it. ! Luckily it was the cheapest fix.
    Scott.

Same thing happened here when I check all items to install at once.
After the installation failure , L7,L8,Waveburner .. everything unexpectedly quit then I decided to replace the entire OS to cloned back up.
I tried the installation again and xxxx happened again. This time, I installed only applications (overwritten) again and it fixed the problem.
Then I installed only JamPack on FW and went smoothly.
I called Apple Tech and now I am waiting for the new installer DVDs of Audio contents only by regular mail.
Hey, do we have similar serial number?? Apple script got damaged or something? I have no idea.

  • EZ VPN client in DMZ and a router-on-a-stick

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a Cisco 1811 as an EZVPN client
while the router is setup with only one interface? I have a customer that
requested their VPN router to us be setup in their DMZ with no public facing
interface on the 1811 (VPN device). I usually configure our VPN
configurations with an internet facing interface and a DMZ facing interface.

I don't think it is possible with only one *logical* interface. Router as a EZVPN Client requires two interfaces to do PAT for traffic going to the Internet. So far as I know, this is autoconfigured in both Client and NEM modes and cannot be disabled. However you *can* use 802.1q trunk to create two *logical* interfaces and configure EZVPN Client, or just configure Site-to-Site on a stick.

  • EA6300 and Another Router

I have a 6300 router configured and setup.  It is working good. This is my main router. Most of the devices in my house, connect to this router.   This router ONLY provides limited information such as which device is "online" and "offline".   Also, this router provides basic network information.  This router may be suitable for some people but doesn't give me the overall picture I need in my house.
Due to the lack of "realtime" information this router doesn't provide, I would like to add another router.   I am looking at the Skydog router to act as the main router and handle all of the "management" functions.  The Skydog router provides "realtime" information which the EA6300 doesn't give me.  When I speak of "management", I am saying that I need more detail on wireless devices in my house.   I need to know which device is used by which user, how long this user has been "online" and which sites the user has been hitting.   The 6300 router doesn't provide this information.
Basically, I would like to have the Skydog router be the main router.  The 6300 router would act as an wireless extender. Look at this setup:
    Garage (Modem-------Skydog) >>>> Office computers (EA6300
How do I setup the Skydog router and EA6300 router to play nice together?

Add the ea6300 in a lan to lan configuration.
