  • Difference Inbound Interface at business System Service...

    Hello everybody,
if I open a business system service I see tabs:
    a) receiver --> inbound interfaces
    b) sender   --> inbound interfaces
But there a also interfaces I see when I open the INTERFACE DETERMINATION.
    My Question:
I configured a INTERFACE DETERMINATION with a INTERFACE,
but <b>I CAN'T</b> see the interface if I got to a) or b) (double click on Business System Service) .
Why? Is there a difference between INTEFACES shown under the Business System Service and INTERFACES shown under the INTERFACE DETERMINATION?
In my opinion the INTERFACE DETERMINATION belongs to a BUSINESS SYSTEM SERVICE and so should be seen under BUSINESS SYSTEM SERVICE.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards Mario

    hi,
this means that while specifying your interface
    determination you've choosen ALL interfaces
from all systems (ALL button in the interface det creation)
because you've specified all XI didn't use the one which belongs to your business system that you check in a) and b)

  • Business system/service Service without party: info needed

    Hi,
I am a newbie in XI world. I have a scenario of interfacing a 3rd party system to R/3 via XI. This system will dump a file to XI which needs to be converted to IDOC for R/3 use and later an outbound interface should send some data in a file format to this 3rd party system.
As per various blogs, I have managed to define business system and basid IR config. Since this a 2 way asyncronous interface,  I wanted to know
1> In XI, do I need to create a separate Buss System for 3rd Party sender interface( legacy->XI->R/3)
and a new Buss system for 3rd party Receiver interface.(R/3->Xi>Legacy). However in R/3 should I can create only one and assign the inbound/outbound IDOC partner profiles. ( But do the names of legacy systems in R/3 and XI have to be same)
2> What is the difference between Party and Service without Party( I saw these in ID). Do I need to define party for my interface scenario. If yes, How?
3> For testing, I wanted XI to pick files from my desktop and then post to R/3. As per various sdn threads, I realise, I need to give the IP of my PC and use Service without party. Since I am new in this area, I do not know how to define this serv-without party for my scenario. Any blogs or threads which define this would be very helpful.
    Appreciate your help and time.
    Helpful answers will be rewarded.
    Thanks and regards
    Shirin

    Hi Shirin,
For 3rd party sysytems u can directly configure in ID under bussiness service
we will choose service without party when we are having A2A communication.
A2A means application to application communication, it is used when two systems in same landscape try to communicate with each other. Systems in same landscape means both the systems are belongs to same organization or a company.
Normally in A2A communication sender and receiver is inside one organization and developer have freedom to define communication rules .

we will choose service withparty when we are having B2B communication
B2B means Business to Business communication .It is used when there is exchange of information between two different Parties or companies or landscape.
When two applications in different companies communicates with each other we call it B2B Communication.
in case of B2B every party has it own rules which must be followed if we want to communicate between different organization.

communication party (party for short) represents a larger unit, which is involved in a collaborative process. Using a communication party, you generally address a company within a cross-company process. That means we use party only when we r using B2B communcation.for example communication of two diffrent organization who r having different landscape.
The matter of Party comes only when there are number of partners included in the environment. Thats usually happens in B2B systems. The services without party usually happens in normal A2A systems; were normal applications handle the message processing between systems and no multiple partners are interested in same data that are been handled.

Business System : It is registered in SLD,We should have all the technical details to use
it, A business system is something that physicallu exists. generally for R/3 applications
    we use this one.
Business Service : When we don't have all the technical details then we use the business
service, it is mostly used for B2B scenarios.
In ID objects tab in Business service is there, there right click and create the new business service, and fill the details like interface,...
    BUSINESS SERVICE CREATION STEPS:
You can create the Business Service in ID itself. It is an abstract unit and it will act as Business System while exchanging the messages. In ID goto Service Without Party>Choose Business Service>Right Click and say as New>Give Servie Name as your Naming Conventions and choose u r configuration Scenario to adding the same> click on create>It will create the service and u can edit the service>u can find the tabs Receiver,Sender and etc--> Add ur Inbound/Outbound interfaces and corresponding Communication channels.

  • PI 7.1 third-party business system and software component.

    Hi,
I wish to know if it is possible to associate a third-party business system to a software version and therefore to a software component.
This is importnat for me to know it applied to teh PI 7.1. I know that for abap and java this is possible.

    Hi,
go to SLD.......go to Business system......click on new business system to create it.........then select your technical system for third party........then tell the sw component to be linked to the third party business system........then your third party business sytem will be linked to the sw component in PI7.1.

The problem is the connection between the Integration Scenarion Configurator (Integration Directory) and the central SLD – which means that the XI is not on the SLD host.
When I try to assign the business systems, which I created in the SLD, I have to assign a service (business system) to every single role. When I am trying to add a line and display the list of permitted values a new box opens in order to select the service.
Selecting the product, i.e. SAP R/3 the pop up with the error appears.

  • Business Systems and Business Service - does any difference

    Hi Experts,
Could any one please guide me what is the difference between
    Business Systems
    and
    Business Service.
Which situations we use Business Systems / Business Service.
Does it have any performance issues?
Why we are not configuring Business service in SLD?
    Cheers Experts!!
    Sunil

    Hi Sunil,
Business System: Address a particular business system as the sender or receiver of messages.
A business system is an actual application system in a system landscape. A business system
(service) comprises information about the inbound and outbound interfaces and the software
component versions of the business system. The business system services are used when
    configuring internal company processes.
Business Systems are Logical Senders or Receivers that exchange messages by using the Integration
Server and that are entered in the System Landscape Directory.
The Business Systems in the System Landscape Directory relate to a system landscape.
The Business Systems of business partners are therefore not entered in the System Landscape
Directory. To be able to address such business partners logically, use communication components in
the Integration Directory. A business system is a way of specifying a communication component in the
Integration Directory more precisely (business system component).
Business Service: Address an abstract business entity as the sender or receiver of messages.
Using a business service, you can define the technical or business subunits of the companies
involved and then assign them the relevant interfaces. The business services are used when
    configuring cross-company processes.
In the PCK, the Service is of type Business Service. It represents an abstract, addressable unit.
Business services are used in cross-company processes, for example, if the parties involved have only
published their interfaces and not their system landscape, or it is only partly known.
Using a Business Service,we can define the technical or business subunits of the companies involved
and then assign them the relevant interfaces.
It is useful to use Business Services when configuring cross-company processes. Usually, the
interface descriptions of the business partners involved are made publicly available.
Also,There is already lot of thread regarding the same discussion, please see it below.

  • Parties, Business Systems and Business Services

    Hi guys,
I've read a lot about items in subject, but have some doubts about applying them to my scenario. I have to integrate SAP system and web service.
As far as I understand concepts, this is B2B communication, so I have to use parties. To represent SAP system I use Business System, as it's described ins SLD,  and for Web service I use Business Service... just as we use business services for web services
--- Am I right here? Will it work ok in reciever determination, agreement?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
You are doing the usage of business systems and services in proper way.
The scenario will difinately work with combination of business system and service.
It will be fine for all other configurations such as Receiver Determination, Sender/receiver agreements and interface determination etc.
Please see below the importance of Parties, Business Systems and Business Services
    A communication party
A communication party (party for short) represents a larger unit, which is involved in a collaborative process. Using a communication party, you generally address a company within a cross-company process.
You can assign a communication party one or more services to address it as the sender or receiver of messages.
    A business system
If you want to address a particular business system as the sender or receiver of messages, choose this service type.
A business system is an actual application system in a system landscape. A business system (service) comprises information about the inbound and outbound interfaces and the software component versions of the business system.
You usually use business system services when configuring internal company processes.
    A business service
If you want to address an abstract business entity as the sender or receiver of messages, choose this service type.
Using a business service, you can define the technical or business subunits of the companies involved and then assign them the relevant interfaces.
You usually use business services when configuring cross-company processes. In this case, you only make your interfaces known to the business partners involved and either do not make any details about your own system landscape available, or only specific details.
For example, you can define RosettaNet Partner Interface Processes (PIPs) as business services.
    Thanks

  • Regarding Business System and Business Service

    Hello,
What is the difference between the Business system and Business service. When do we go for what? Which system we will take as business system or business service means either sender system or reciever system.
Give me with simple example... please
    Thank you

    hi,
What is the difference between the Business system and Business service.?
Business System is a logical representation of a Technical System.
Business System: BS is a conceptual representation of a logical system, such as a specific client on a SAP server or a 3rd party payroll application.
For defining Business Systems, the four important pieces of data are:
u2022Business System Name (must be unique in the landscape)
u2022Associated Technical system name, and if the Business System will be used with IDoc interfaces, a Logical System Name
u2022The Software Products (and associated SWCVu2019s) that are used by the Business System. The products are brought through from the Technical System definition; but for a particular Technical System, not all products will necessarily be associated with a particular Business System.
    u2022The Related Integration Server.
A Business System addresses a business system as a sender or receiver of messages. Unlike an abstract service, a business system represents a specific (application) system in the system landscape. A business system (service) comprises information about the inbound and outbound interfaces and the software component versions of the business system.
Business Service is a abstract representation of a System. For instance, www.google.com have a several system working together and IPs of this machines change eventually. When we use a Business Services like google we reference a computer that we don't know the phisical implementation
Business Service: Address an abstract business entity as the sender or receiver of messages.Using a business service, you can define the technical or business subunits of the companiesinvolved and then assign them the relevant interfaces. The business services are used whenconfiguring cross-company processes.
Which system we will take as business system or business service means either sender system or reciever system
Business system and business service can either be a sender or receiver...
business systesm is an application system which is a real system..business service is an abstract entity...we send requests using webservices for them....
    thanks,
    vijaya

  • Business System for PI to PI Communication

    Dear All,
We need to communicate between two PI System and message should be transfer both the side. we don't share PI technical System Details.
    1) whether we can create a Business System as a Third Party type with a Generic technical System which is type 3rd party?
we already have a option for Business Service but still want to create a Business System.
    Regards,
    Manikandan

    Hi Manikandan,
    I understand the flow as: -  Sender -> PI_1 -> PI_2 -> Receiver OR
    Sender -> PI_2 -> PI_1 -> Receiver.
I think you can configure Direct Communication between PI_1 -> PI_2, SAP help [Link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/48/ce5bf1a0d7154ee10000000a421937/frameset.htm]. So that, two PI systems use the Web service runtime to communicate with each other directly. Also check, Configuring Business Systems (with Web Service Communication), in above link.

  • Missing Inbound Interface under Edit Service for Business System

    Hello All,
I have to configure a Scenario at Integration Directory. Import from IR already done.
When i try to configure a Service under Party\Service\Business System I am not able to find the special IDoc type (here) PROJECT:PROJECT01 under register card "Receiver" (Inbound Interfaces) for the SLD defined Business System.
How can i add the IDoc type here?
    Many thanks in advanced?
    Regards,
    Jochen

    Hi,
please let me explain more in detail. All answer not really facing my problem.
At Integration Directory i want to create a Business System Service for a external incoming connection.
When i try to create under the Scenario e.g. "IS_WBSElements" the Service " BTS_Partner" under \Party\<partern>\Service\Business System\ at Display Service i couldn't find the IDoc Type PROJECT.PROJECT01. This will displayed at Display Services under Point Business System "Receiver" card (Inbound Interfaces"). There is a list of some Inbound Interfaces displayed with column Name, Namespace and Software Component Version.
When try to add a different Business System under Party\Service e.g. BTS_CCM i get much more Inbound Interfaces displayed incl. PROJECT.PROJECT01.
Perhaps there is a relation between Inbound Interface and the Business System?!
    Many thanks in advance!

  • Technical systems and Business systems in SAP XI

can any one tell me ,breifly explain the  diff b/w <b>Technical Systems</b> & Business Systems?
steps to create Techincal system and Business systems?
and also Steps for creating Software Components? For Technical System we can create more than one Business systems ,what it means?can any one explain?

    Hi
First I let u know with analogy and actual definition as below
Any module of SAP like MM, SRM, FICO ets makes a logical system in combination according to business requirements is a business system which is actualy hosted on an application server like ABAP AS or Java AS which is basically a technical system.
Technical systems are application systems that are installed in system landscape (a CRM server, for example). Most systems (Web AS ABAP and Web AS Java systems) automatically report information to the SLD about the elements that they contain by using the SLD data supplier programs. You need to manually register the following types of system only:
    Standalone Java systems
    Third-party systems
Business systems are logical senders or receivers that exchange messages by using SAP XI and that are entered in the System Landscape Directory.
The business systems in the System Landscape Directory relate to a system landscape.
The business systems of business partners are not entered in the System Landscape Directory. To be able to address such business partners logically, use services in the Integration Directory. A business system is a way of specifying a service in the Integration Directory more precisely (business system service).
