Logical Grouping of ProfitCenter/CostCenter Records

Hi,
I have this scenario where in I got a set of records in the cube which consists ProfitCenter/Cost Center combinations.
ProfitCenter is a Hierarchy.
Now I need to create a set of logical groups (called Divisions) from these set of combinations.
Client had asked us to hardcode this.
Is this the only viable solution?
I can send the sample file (which represents the ProfitCenter/CostCenter combination) if someone needs more clarity.
Thanks,
Manesh

Hi Manesh,
You can always create the logical grouping for Divisions in BW in a hierarchical format. But when the structure changes you would have to manually update the same every time.
If the hierarchy were maintained in a source system like R/3 it would always be possible to extract the latest version, reducing manual intervention. I would say a preferable way.
But you would need to check whether the standard datasource for Profit center hierarchy in R/3 supports
cost center assignment also. If not then creating the same in BW seems to be the only option I can think of.
Hope it helps.

  • Creation of logic group - any limitation for the Criteria Value Field?

I am trying to create simple logic groups in FDM (version 11.1.1.3 and 11.1.2.1). However, an error message displayed in the information bar.
    Error: Error adding new record.
    Detail: Data access error.
I clicked the "Add" button and created a logic group which contains *1,520* non-sequential source accounts in the Criteria Value Field (with In operator).
I have separated these source accounts with a comma and no spaces in between them. (Note: Operator = x, Value/Exp = 1, Seq = 0) I updated the grid. Then, the error message was displayed and the logic group creation was failed.
And then, I created a new logic group which contains only *100* non-sequential source accounts in the Criteria Value Field (with In operator).
I also separated them with a comma, no spaces and same setting. I updated the grid. And the logic group was added successfully.
Each source account contains 10 characters (alphabet and/or number).
    I want to ask:
    1. Is there any limitation in specifying source accounts (i.e.. no more than certain number of source accounts for each logic group) in the Criteria Value Field when creating simple logic group?
    2. I am adding these logic groups by clicking the "Add" button one by one, is there faster way to do it (i.e.. upload an excel or csv file or source accounts specified)?
    Thank you very much!

Thank you Expert for your reply!
I would like to ask about loading the Logic Accounts with the template.
As instructed, I exported the excel out for the template format and updated the template with new Logic Accounts. Then, I imported the excel file in the "Import XLS" section under Tools. The excel file was uploaded successfully. (Note: I am using excel 2010 and saved it as .xls file)
However, there is no changes in the Logic Accounts and seem no updates was made.
    I want to ask:
    1. Did I import the excel at the right location (i.e. "Import XLS" section under Tools)?
    2. Is there anything else I need to do after the file has been imported (i.e. delete the existing logic accounts or click another button(?) for this change) so the new list of logic accounts would become effective?
I would like to use excel to maintain my list of logic accounts for better control in the future.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Logical Groups in GRC-AC

    Dear Experts,
We are using business role concept.Only business roles are assigned and not technical roles.
Requirement is To assign business role from GRC Prod system to ECC DEV and ECC QA also apart from ECC Prod.
To do so we have a logical group SAP_R3_LG mapped to ECC Prod for all action 1,2,3 and 4. Do I need to create other  2 logical groups mapped to  ECC DEV and QA  respectively.
Also  I believe we need to create different  business role name for QA and DEV system .
    Appreciate  your thoughts on this...
    Thanks,
    Mamoon

    Hi Mamoon,
First of all, you need to create unique connector groups per each connectors in order to create/maintain the roles in the backend systems. Then you need to map the connector in the corresponding connector groups.
In BRM, you can have only one system as default connector and this would not let you to maintain the roles in case you have to use multiple connectors for role maintenance.
Make sure to define the integration scenarios for each connectors individually.
    Hope this would help.

  • Non-system wide DNS Lookups on RBL  (i.e. logical groups supported)

Sun Java System Messaging Server documetation seems to state that RBL filtering can only exist in one of three files that are used for filtering based off of inbound connection IP address. My question is, can conditional execution occur for a section of one of these files based of destination e-mail address?
I'd like to have multipule levels of e-mail filtering using RBL and allow users to be assinged to the level of filtering they desire by joining a logical group which will enable a level of RBL filtering for that logical group.
Any help is greatly appreciated, as far as I can see, I can only have one system wide filtering set, so I can't possibly have one set of e-mail ids using 10 RBL (remote black lists) and another group e-mail ids using a smaller set of RBLs.
    ======= From the documentation =======
MAIL_ACCESS : Used to block incoming connections based on combined information found in SEND_ACCESS and PORT_ACCESS tables: that is, the channel and address information found in SEND_ACCESS combined with the IP address and port number information found in PORT_ACCESS.
ORIG_MAIL_ACCESS : Used to block incoming connections based on combined information found in ORIG_SEND_ACCESS and PORT_ACCESS tables: that is, the channel and address information found in ORIG_SEND_ACCESS combined with the IP address and port number information found in PORT_ACCESS.
PORT_ACCESS : Used to block incoming connections based on IP number.
    ====================================

Alas, the RBL stuff is done before iMS even knows who the message is addressd to. That stuff is done at the initial connection phase, as our philosophy is to reject a message just as soon as possible . . .
After the message is accepted, then you can opt-in/out for things like spamassassin, brightmail, etc.

  • Logical grouping of dimensions

    Hi,
What is criteria to enter dimension into the cube and what does mean by logical grouping of dimensions
    Thanks in advance
    krish

    Hi,
While designing the dimensions, you must ask to yourself that "What will be the size of dimension table if I add this characteristic to this dimension?".The smaller ratio of size of dimension table/ fact table means  better performance. For this ratio, 20% is dangerous and 10% is preffered.
If the characteristics included in one dimension have mxn relationship, then your dimension table will be too big(specially if those charactersitics are already big) and performance will be decreased. Therefore, 2 characteristics that have mxn relationship(e.g sales document and sales document item) must be in seperate dimensions i.e two characteristics that have nx1 relationship(e.g material and material group) may be put into one dimension(Not logically related(groupped) characteristics, this is not a criteria)Two characteristics that have nx1 relationship in one dimension will add only m+n rows to dimension table instead of mxn.To sum up, you must create the dimensions by considering the relationships of characteristics that will be included in the cube.I propose you to activate some SAP cubes(e.g 0FIAR_C03) from BI content to view their dimensions. You can see the logic there.
You can see the size of dimension table and fact table by executing the program SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS in se38.

  • Is Logic 911 the worst audio recorder on the planet?

    Disk too slow.
I'm recording one mono audio track to a dedicated audio drive inside my Mac Pro.
Or rather I would be if Logic wasn't interrupting my recording with a "disk too slow 10004" message.
When it's not doing that it's locking up with the flashing screen error no matter what key I press.
And just for good measure it slings the dreaded burst of noise at me from time to time.
It's like paying for a slapper to beat me up.

    Bee Jay wrote:
Can you record to an external drive, or a different one to the one you are currently using? Same results?
I've just wiped the audio drive and am reinstalling, it may be a fragmenting issue, even though that's a reach.
I've also swapped the FW400 cable to my FF for an 800, I had read this had solved another's 'disk too slow' issue.
I'll be Bach, as Handel once said.
I've had the odd instance of this - menus not initialising and key commands not registering, and other funkiness. Does this always happen (ie, quit Logic, reload it, then load your song - does it always load in this state? Are you sure there isn't a dialog box being displayed, perhaps off screen somewhere?
It's not a constant. For instance yesterday I was working most of the afternoon and it occurred three times. It's happened on other songs too so it's doubtful the song is corrupted. No dialogue boxes, I've been caught out by that a few times so am on the lookout for it now. I can start and stop playback from the numerical keypad (playhead doesn't move, though) but every other key including the spacebar causes the flash of doom. I've yet to see what happens if I leave it and go off for a coffee or something.
It's the cumulative effect - flashing screen of doom, sporadic blasts of noises, disk too slow. I have a simple acoustic guitar part to lay down and so far it's been two days of in the zone, out of the zone, in the zone, etc. I'm sick of the song now, and mightily sick of Logic issues to the point of downloading the Presonus One demo this morning. It's looking pretty tasty...

  • Purchasing Group in Purchase Info Record

    Hello Gurus,
The Purchasing Group in Purchasing Info Record is not read at Purchase Requisitions...
    My operation is as below;
    1. Create Purchasing Requisitions via MRP
    2. Assign Fixed Vendor at MD57 or via Source List ( when source list, Fixed Vendor will be assigned at MRP)
    3. Vendor and sometimes Purchase info rec # are assigned to Purchase Requirement
But Purchasing Group is not assigned to Purchase Requisition.
I understood that Price is not assigned at Purchase Requisitions, but nor Purchasing Group is not assigned although it is mandatory field in Purchase Info Record at SAP standard..
Would you tell me how to read Purchasing Group from Purchasing Info Records into Purchase Requisitions?
    Best Regards,
    AK

    Hello,
    Hm, now it is like this;
    - Actually, One Purchase Organization is fixed for the Plant
    - But since we use the same purchase organization, the organization customization was set as below;
--  Purchase Organization- Company Code: Blank for the Purchase Organization
--  Plant - Purchase Organization: one Purchase Organization is set for all the Plants
--  Plant - default Purchase Organization: blank since this seems to be effective only for consignment etc
-> And the PR which was created via MRP, there is no Purchase Organization assigned....
I do not know why...we have Plant in the PR but blank for Purchase Organization..
And it seems that, if I could assign purchase organization to PR via MRP, Purchase Group should be read into PR..

  • Exporting and Importing Logic groups

Hello, I am creating a logic group that is quite long in my UAT application, but once it works properly I need to have it aslo in my Production application, However I don't fancy recreating the 95 lines of complex logic.
Is there a way to export the Logic group from the UAT and import them in the Prod ?
    Many thanks foryour ideas
    Lionel

There is an Export/Import command in the File menu. I have only used it for the entire app, but there is probably a way to just do pieces.

  • Simple logic group to operate prior to custom import script?

    Hi all,
Thanks for taking the time to read my question. I will gladly mark this thread as helpful or answered if you can help me. I'm a novice at FDM so please bear with.
I have a custom import script that assigns ICP None to a specific account (overriding any ICP detail). However, now I need the ICP detail for that account in a second statistical account. I setup a simple logic group to create the logic account that I can map to the statistical but then realized that the import script runs prior to the logic group so I lose all ICP detail in the logic account as well.
Is there a way to run the logic group prior to import script or is there a better way to accomplish what I'm trying to do?
I'm not sure how critical this is but I'm using FDM v11.1.1.3.01 adapter 11x-G5-C

    Do the following:
    1) Remove the custom import script.
    2) Create a complex logic account and override the ICP dimension in the Group By Column with the Value [ICP None]. This will then be what is diplayed on the import screen for this logic account.
    3) Map the original source as the statistical account and the logic account as appropriate

  • Logic Pro &Tascam US 2000, record enable trks 1-12?

How do I get Logic Pro to recognise an external I/O device like the Tascam US200?
How do I get the Sound Preferences to "see" it?
Once it's seen, how can I enable multiple tracks in Logic Pro, so I can record my live drums ?

Did you install the appropriate driver(s) for the unit?
    http://tascam.com/product/us-2000/downloads/
You should be able to assign any of the 16 inputs (not 14) to any Audio Channel Strip/Audio Track in Logic. Same for any of the 4 outputs.
If you use stereo Channel Strips/Audio Tracks, you should be able to record 8 stereo tracks simultaneously, or 16 mono tracks, or probably any combination of those, like 4 stereo and 8 mono tracks.
Yes, Logic is also designed for multi-track recording. Dûh.   That is just an ignorant and nonsensical remark, probably born from frustration.

Are you recording AIFF, WAV or CAF?
25 GB is not a lot of space, easpecially if that is on your system disk. You should KEEP at least 20 % of its capacity free, so unless your disk is 80 GB or smaller, it is too little. And since you only have 2 GB RAM, you'll need that free disk space (the less RAM, the more OS X needs free disk space to "offload" ongoing processes onto.)
Unfortunately, the crash report doesn't yield any direct clues as to why this happened (it's a 'generic' crash report). But I would urge you to record .caf files to an External FireWire disk, not AIFF or WAV to the internal.

There is a maximum recording size according to file type, as follows:
AIFF: The AIFF file format cannot handle audio file recordings larger than 2 GB:
For 16-bit, 44.1 kHz stereo files, this equals a recording time of about 3 hours and 15 minutes.
For 24-bit, 96 kHz, 5.1 surround files, this equals a recording time of about 20 minutes.
WAVE (BWF): The WAVE file format cannot handle audio file recordings larger than 4 GB:
For 16-bit, 44.1 kHz stereo files, this equals a recording time of about 6 hours and 30 minutes.
For 24-bit, 96 kHz, 5.1 surround files, this equals a recording time of about 40 minutes.
CAF: If the size of your recording exceeds the above limits, choose the CAF (Apple Core Audio Format) file format, which can handle the following recording times:
The bit depth and channel format—mono, stereo, or surround—do not affect the maximum recording size of CAF files.[/quote]
About 13 hours and 30 minutes at 44.1 kHz
About 6 hours at 96 kHz
About 3 hours at 192 kHz

  • New outputs generated when changing logical system in output master record

    Hi!
We are sending documents from ECC 5 to a legacy system via XI/PI. We are about to move from an old XI installation to a new PI installation. The output record used (for example in a billing document) is set up based on logical system. When moving from the old to the new platform, we need to change the output records from the old logical syste to the new logical system. However this leads to generation of new outputs in all billing docs when opened in change mode. This goes also for billing docs where we already generated outputs via lthe old logical system in the past. Is there any solution to prevent the automatic generation of outputs for documents where the condition type already was successfully processed (as it works when the logical system is not changed)?
    Best regards
    /Björn

Normally the same output is not supposed to be generated, unless 'Multiple issuing' checkbox is checked in the output type configuration.
Also you can probably add a requirement in the output determination procedure and check if output record already exists. Take a look at the standard 'Reprint' routine, kind of the opposite is needed in this case.

  • Broadcast Wav files from PT to Logic not moving to original record position

Okay, my system needs upgrading but I'm stable (at least I think I am til now!) I have a TV network sending me broadcast wav files from PT. They shoot their video on a 24 hour clock. I'm to be editing and mixing (in Logic) their audio tracks from PT and send them back as broadcast wav files for them to sync back to their video. After years and years of recording and producing music, this TV world is a first for me. 2 issues at hand that are causing trouble.
NUMBER 1: The wav files will not snap to original record position. I keep getting an error message about "out of range" and of all craziness with a negative SMPTE number. ??? The prompt suggests an offset error. But there isn't I can find. Start time is set to 0:0:0.0.0 here and at the TV studio. They film at 29.97d. That matches as well. Sample Rate is correct at 48k 24bit. I've uncovered every thing I can think of. I did have to set the tempo down to 5 BPM in order to see a full 24 hours in SMPTE.
NUMBER 2: I can't figure out how to see the timestamp start time of the audio files in the audio window. I have every option turned on in the VIEW option, I can see length, but I see nothing about start time of original record time. Am I missing something simple here? Seems like a very standard option that should be easily accessible. It would allow me to prepare the location on the time line.
Overall, I'm hoping I can do all the above with my current rig but realize that the clock is ticking toward a whole new system with Logic 9.
Help please. Don't want to lose this client.

Sure do appreciate everyone's willingness to help. Setting SMPTE start to 24:00:00.0.0 didn't work either. I confirmed with the studio manager at the TV station also that they run a 24hour clock with 0 being midnight.
I'm really hoping that the error is on their end.
*It would help me if anyone knew how to VIEW the Timestamp info attached to the wav files. That would at least give me an approximate idea of where they should be.*
I'm supposed to be editing and mixing the voice dialog from numerous different scene takes that were shot throughout a day of filming. It's critical that I can see all these different takes that were captured over hours of open recording. Some of the files are almost 4 hours long. It's a big project and I'm sure hoping I can stay inside Logic to get it all done with excellence.
