Logical Port Problem using a Web Service

Hi.
I have created a simple web service and imported the model succesfully into my webdynpro component. However, when I execute the web service method, I just get the following error:
     "Logical Ports loading problem. Parser error."
I'm new to NWDS, but my application did work when I first used it, because my web service throws an exception and this was  displayed correctly in the application.
Could this error be due to Internet explorer connection settings on the Duiscovery server? (We have a few exclusions in there).
If I type in the url of my web service manually into IE on the discovery server, it returns the expected results, so I know my web service is working.
There also seems to be a problem with my NWDS install, because if I change any of the properties of the Logical Port, the save icon isn't available, and shutting the properties page and reopening it restores the original settings.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this is driving me nuts!
Many thanks in advance.
Nigel

OK, so I've found the answer to the proxy settings on the client - they are stored in
<InstallDIR>\Workspace\ .metadata\ .plugins\com.tssap.config\pref_store.ini
For no proxy, change the contents of this file as follows:
#Tue Apr 15 10:09:09 ACT 2008
proxyHost=
sapInitialized=true
proxySet=false
applyNoProxy=true
proxyPort=
Then save it, delete the logical port on your model and then create a new logical port from your WSDL.

  • Error Message "No logical port exists to call web services" installing SM7

    I am trying to use SLM to download a service stack.  However, the option is not available in step 2.5.  There is an error message "No logical port exists to call web services".  I have performed the Wizard install, but the Wizard seems to have left out this step.  I have looked around for documentation on how to configure the port, but cannot find anything more useful than comments to the effect that I should configure the port.

    I found the problem, I think, although I am now on to the next problem.  "Web Services for software lifecycle manager not available'.
    The documentation is lacking.  When the RFC connection is set up, the user id is j2ee_admin, using the install password.  This is not specified anywhere in the install instructions that I could find, there is only a reference to a 'user id and password'.
    The LPCONFIG is used to create a logical port, that ties the RFC to the LP.  However, no name is specified that is to be used for the LP.

    Hi all,
       I am trying to use the Web Service generated from BAPI_FLIGHT_GETLIST. I have got the wsdl file, and trying to invoke it. But, while I can test the BAPI using the Airline ID AA, I can't test from the Web Service using the same data. It shows the error message - "Airline AA not found". Anyone having solution, please help. This is urgent.

  • Logical port problem

    Hi All
    I create logical port in LPCONFIG for a WS and i put the proxy class and logcal port (just variable like abc ) i choose defult port
    and in runtime i choose webservice and in in call parameters in URL i put the WSDl of the WS i create via se37 .
    when i activate it i get message : Web service requires state management
    What i need to do to overcome this issue?
    Best Regards
    Nina

    Hi Nina,
    Purpose
    The options for error handling depend on the type of communication chosen:
    ·        Asynchronous Communication: On the sender side, the application can only handle errors that occur when the message is being sent (for example,  the outbound queue is full). You can catch and persist these errors by using the exception class CX_AI_SYSTEM_FAULT. On the receiver side, as in the synchronous case, you can define fault messages, which are then only forwarded to monitoring (and not to the sender).
    If you want to define how the sender is to process asynchronous errors, see the Acknowledgments section. The Web service runtime only supports synchronous communication.
    ·        Synchronous Communication: You can use fault messages to handle errors that have occurred on the receiver side. To confirm an error, the proxy runtime sends the fault message from the receiver back to the sender, which can then respond to it.
    Process Flow
    The example used here works with the XI runtime standardized structure. When using the Web service runtime, follow the same procedure to trigger an exception on the receiver side and handle it on the sender side (indicated in the source text by the comments with a hash symbol (#)). The fault message structure is defined by the WSDL description in both cases and is found in the exception class.
        1.      If an application on the receiver side triggers an error, the ABAP proxy runtime converts the corresponding exception class to a fault message and transfers it to the sender system.
           2.      In the sender system, the ABAP proxy runtime interprets the fault message and triggers the exception for the client proxy.
           3.      In the sender system, the application can catch and handle the exception using a Try/Catch block. Using the super exception class CX_AI_APPLICATION_FAULT you can - in a similar way to the statement WHEN OTHERS in a CASE statement - catch all remaining application errors.

  • Problems with OC4J Web services and Flex SOAPEncoder

    Hello!
    I got a problem trying to execute a web service running in
    Oracle OC4j 10.1.3.3, and a client side with Flex3. I generated the
    scripts for using the web service using Flex builder 3, but it's
    not making a valid call to web service. I debugged the call
    operation to the Flex SOAPEncoder which seems to generate an
    invalid soap message. The SOAPEncoder generates the following
    message;
    <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="
    http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns="
    http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:xsi="
    http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
    <SOAP-ENV:Body>

    <tns:getDocuments>
    <tns:String_1>service manual</tns:String_1>
    </tns:getDocuments>
    </tns:getDocuments>
    </SOAP-ENV:Body>
    </SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
    Where the correct working soap message should be;
    <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="
    http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns="
    http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:xsi="

    <tns:String_1>service manaual</tns:String_1>
    </tns:getDocuments>
    </SOAP-ENV:Body>
    </SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
    Problem in the first message is that Flex SOAPEncoder
    generates an extra <tns:getDocuments> child tag, and Oracle
    app server can't handle it.
    Has someone any idea why SOAPEncoder is generating the extra
    operation tag, and is this behaviour configurable somehow or is the

    Best regards, Janne

    I am having the exact same problem. The SOAPEncoder is adding
    an additional tag and the server thinks the envelope is not
    properly formatted and therefore does not know what to do with it.
    Is there any fix for this yet? Or has it even been reported as a
    bug?

  • Using ABAP Web Service tor convert IDoc to XML and transfer to SOAP Server

    Hi all,
    I have a problem to use ABAP Web Service to convert IDoc's to XML and then send them to a SOAP Server.
    Currently we have the following landscape:
    SAP->XI->Archive
    The sap-system (ECC6.0) sends an IDoc to the Exchange Infrastructe. The XI maps the IDoc and converts it to the required XML format, used by the archive. Afterwards, the XML documents are sended to the SOAP Server.
    So I'm trying to replace the Exchange Infrastructure with ABAP Web Service.
    I've read a lot of posts and documents reagarding ABAP Web Serivce, converting IDoc's to XML, RFC and so on, but I'm not able to do the replacement.
    I don't know how to start and which steps are required.
    The required roles and authorizations at the sap-system and the service for soamanager and the Web Service Viewer are available.
    First I thought to create the RFC and partner profiles and then the report to convert IDoc to XML as a BAPI. With this BAPI I supposed to create and define a Web Service. The problem is, I don't know how to trigger the report if the Idoc should be send to the archive.
    Hopefully, someone has an idea or a how-to for me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Christoph
    Edited by: BigTicket on May 12, 2010 9:36 AM

    Hi BigTicket.
    A suggestion to trigger the BAPI / WebService at the IDoc receiving is to use a user exit or enhanced inside the idoc function module. When the idoc arrived to the idoc port the system start the related function module and then your user exit/enhanced in which you invoke your BAPI.
    I hope this help.
    Ciao.

    Hi Vivek,
    This problem occurs when Web Service provider is not reachable , it means the server which provides services to the WSDL is temporally down or not reachable . To check whether the services is reachable , you could paste the WSDL URL in your internet browser , if it opens then problem is with NWDS configuration of proxy else sever is not reachable .
    In your case problem is not with NWDS but with server as it looks that it is temprorarly down. To avoid such problem in future you could also store the WSDL file locally on your system and then can import ( obvioulsy you requires at least once to get the WSDL ) . This will help only while modelling the application to run you will require the service provider to be up and runnning
    You could use other tutorials to try AWS Model in Web Dynpro .
    regards

  • Problem with RESTful web service

    I am running into a problem with Flex Web Services (REST) in trying to get the proper format returned. I can see that the HTTP header is set to
    Accept: */*;
    rather than
    Accept: application/xml
    when sending the request. The web service was generated via the web services HTTP data services wizard. I edited it to set the resultFormat to xml
        // Constructor
        public function _Super_UsersService()
            // initialize service control
            _serviceControl = new mx.rpc.http.HTTPMultiService();
             var operations:Array = new Array();
             var operation:mx.rpc.http.Operation;
             var argsArray:Array;
             operation = new mx.rpc.http.Operation(null, "getUsers");
             operation.url = "http://localhost:8888/users";
             operation.contentType = "";
             operation.method = "GET";
             operation.resultFormat = "xml";
             //operation.serializationFilter = serializer0;
             operation.properties = new Object();
             operation.properties["xPath"] = "/";
             operation.resultType = valueObjects.Users;
             operations.push(operation);
             _serviceControl.operationList = operations;
             model_internal::initialize();
    How does one configure the accept header?

    Hi,
    I have posted a simple application with the RESTful reference:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=13758
    I can give you full privileges on this so you can look at the WEB service reference. Shall I send to you separately for login user?
    It is using the RESTful service: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/nd_pat_miller/demo/employee/{deptno}
    This RESTful service tests fine when I test from within the RESTful web service module of the Workspace.
    I based this on the Video demo tutorial for RESTful web service that Oracle published for 4.2 release. The video seemed to exclude the {deptno} in the URL but when I try that, it doesn't work either.
    This is the error I am getting when I run this on my Apex environment: (it, of course, will not run the web service in the apex.oracle.com environment)

  • Cannot pass data from Web Dynpro to XI using a Web Service

    Hi All,
    We have been facing some issues when we try to pass on a SOAP / XML message via a WSDL from a WebDynpro App to XI - No data is reaching XI interface. The payload data details for the inbound message in XI is empty. When testing the WSDL separately using XML spy the data passes to the XI successfully.
    The problem only occurs when we pass on the data from the WebDynpro component.
    We are also passing additional information _user and _password to ensure authenticated access.
    Steps that we completed so far:
    1. Created a WSDL which we can use to communicate to XI interface.
    2. Imported WSDL using webdynpro Web Service Model import
    functionality.
    3. Bound WSDL with webdynpro components.
    4. Pass on data through WSDL contexts.
    5. Execute WSDL model.
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    RR

  • How to supervise (and fix) using BPEL web services in AIA?

    We have unbelievably many problems with using AIA & web services concerned. Is there any way of online monitoring using the web services, checking data/parameters provided and fixing what needed - before a disasters comes? The supervising layer should work WITHOUT the same environment (rather on the system level) in order to be on a qualitative much higher reliability level. I would gratefully appreciate any experience to help us from heavy problems...

  • Using Encrypted Web Service connections within Xcelsius 2008 SP1 - FP3

    Hi all,
    I'm running the latest version of Xcelsius Server 2008 and have setup a simplistic dashboard that uses 4 web service connections to dynamically call queries within a SQL Server 2008 database. The dashboard has been exported to html and I can serve this to the WWW.
    I have since created a new https website (using a self signed certificate) and can now serve my Xcelsius dashboard via https. My problem is that I have had to run my old website in parallel (as it serves the said non-encrypted web service) which is linked within the swf source (that is running on the new https enabled website).
    Upon trying to alter my existing xlf file so that it references the encrypted web service URL (which works fine via the browser) it prompts me to accept the self signed certificate. Once I click yes, and then add the certificate to the certificate store the whole thing locks up and I am forced to close Xcelsius.
    Am I right in thinking that Xcelsius will not accept self signed certificates or encrypted web services at all? For me this is big security concern because if I want to share my dashboard via the WWW I have to accept the fact that I need to run an unsecure web service.
    Is this something that is only supported in Xcelsius Enterprise?
    TIA

    Hello Paul,
    Sorry not to have replied to this sooner.
    We have had experience of hosting Xcelsius Dashboards using Https: for one of our clients here at Flynet.
    We noticed a number of issues , we did have problems relating to the Firewall on our Gateway server for example. We also had issues with the number of active connections processed when the dashboard is running. I think the default for Https: is 2 , so the connections can be queued up. Have you retried with one connection open. The Dashboard we did however did have up to 12 connections, so Xcelsius can handle multiple connections.
    When developing the Dashboards using Xcelsius I did have to import using the Web Service URL of the remote server which was Https: However due to issues sometimes with our Gateway Firewall and the way our Local Network had to access the https: URL , what I tended to do was develop using a localhost Web service and then switch the URL to use the https: Web Service once the dashboard was exported to the server it was to be hosted on.
    What we did notice for example is that we could have a dashboard running locally quite happily using the https: web services which are actually on [http://www.flynetviewer.com]   then we would start getting #2 type flash errors. To solve this we had to restart our Windows Firewall on our gateway server. We could run the dashboard fine if run from our web site.
    I am not sure if the issues you have are related to this. I have had problems when I had to import the https: web service URL on my local machine  , I am prompted for the Username password for the Https: location , but when trying to import Xcelsius has a problem and exits. Due to these problems I tended to use a local Web service when developing. I know this isn't always practical.
    I was running on Vista 64 bit , but I also have XP and Server 2003 running on Virtual machines.
    I will be happy to share information my experiences with you.
    Best Regards,
    Ian Learmonth
    Flynet
    Updated to add: I have just successfully imported an https: Web service. Mapped it to the dashboard , run it and invoked sucessfully. This was on Windows XP professional SP2.
    I did the same thing on Windows Vista 64 bit and had an issue. So not sure what operating system you are using or whether it's a Certificate thing. I can try and find out a bit more on our Certificate if you need to find out what the issue is.
    The Vista issue seems to have been resolved by running Xcelsius as Administrator.
    When successfully importing I was prompted for the Username and Password for the URL but not the Certificate.
