Hi
What should be done if there are 2 diff systems with the same logical system name. Since the technical systems are different, i am able to create different business systems for it. But it gives errors during ID configuration..

-->U are creating 2 different TS as WEB AS ABAP so in that you will maintain the details of 2 different systems.
-->finally creating the 2 different BS's in that maintain your LS and for each BS we need to assign the TS name and click finish.(NOTE:While assigning the TS to BS pls observe)

We have installed a BI 7.0 system recently and I am setting up the server to connect to SAP ERP.
In TA SM59 a connection to the SAP ERP has been established. The Remote Logon is OK, (meaning clicking it nothing happens). The Connection Test is OK.
According to the Best Practices paper: B84: BI Connectivity (B84)

I have done the following:
In TA RSA1
1.     Choose Modeling.
2.     Choose Source Systems.
3.     Select SAP in the window on the right.
4.     Choose the Context menu (right mouse click).
5.     Choose Create.
6.     Make the following entries:
Available destination: (The above tested connection)
Background user in source system: RFCUSER (I created the user in ERP according to step 1.4 in B84)
Password for source system: *****
Background user in BI: RFCUSER (I created the user in BI according to step 1.4 in B84)
Password for BI user: *****
8.     In the dialog box Please log on as an administrator in the following screen choose Continue.
9.     Log on to the Source System with your administrator user. Choose the correct client.
10.     On the dialog box New Source System Connection choose Continue.
THEN I GET THE ERROR:
Source system already exists.
Message no. RSAR201
What is wrong? I cannot locate any SAP notes to help on this problem.

just some guessing at this point...
a)
Is the connection really new? For example, was there another system connected to that ERP, maybe with the same logical name? Or was any of the two systems copied from another system?
b)
Authorisations issues in this process may result in strange error messages. Make sure that the admin user in step 9 really has SAP_ALL. There are a lot of complex activities that this user must be able to do (ALE management, RFC access etc.). To exclude issues with the RFCUSER users: If possible, give them SAP_ALL, too. Of course only temporarily for testing.
c)
I normally don't use existing RFC destinations. Usually, I let the system create those, too. So maybe it makes a difference if you remove the RFC destinations on both sides and try again. In that case, you will of course have to provide the RFC details when creating the source system connection...

Source System Already Exists

Dear Team,
After the system copy from PRD to DEV, all the existing source system(s) from our ealier R/3 quality
got vanished, according to BASIS team, the source sys assignments have been deleted during the databse restore, Now, the problem is, when am trying to create the source system(s) again, the system is throwing the Msg. 'Source system already exists' and not allowing to create newly.
I would request you guys to share your ideas/solution to fix this issue.

Yes that is correct, but Basis team need to set the parterner profile and Idoc connections between the Source and BW system, it is common error, whenver you copy the source client.
check 886102 note.
Note: No need to create source system, just need to adjust the settings in WE20.

Error creation of JCO connection: System Already Exist

Hi Experts,
We have created the SLD connection to the ECC6.0 from the Portal 7.0.
Created one JCO connection using that SLD successfully for the Clinet 100.
Now we required to create one more JCO Connection for client200 also. But it is giving the Error that
System Already Exist.
How can we resolve this. When we create the JCO connection for one client, con't we create one more JCO connection for the same system for the differt client or not?
If so How do it?

I think you can add one more client in the existing connection. well, I am not sure about that even.

Logical System already use in BPM

We have created two BPMs and one of them the Logical system is configured to 0071ME36. For the second BPM we tried to use the same logical system but we get an error in the XI "Logical System 0071ME36 is already use in the BPM_6547_.
That`s means we must use diferent logical system name for each BPM we created?

Yes, u r right.
One (dirty) trick: Route the message per HTTP adapter back to XI and route incoming message without mapping 2 IDoc adapter. Use only dummy datatyepes, messagetypes, interfaces. There not prooved during runtime.

Same Logical System Name, different Business System

Hi all,
I have a problem regarding SLD and Integration Directory. The client is requiring me to use the same logical system name for two different business systems. It seems that this is not possible in XI. When I tried activating the business system in ID, I'm getting the error, 'Logical system XXX already exists in communication component YYY'. Please help. Thanks!

You cannot have same logical name for two business systems....
Why you need it?? How will the SAP system understand which which system the message was sent for?? Some workaround like
1. Create a business system with this logical system
2. Overwrite sender/receiver business system in the receiver agreement for messages sent to 2nd business system..
This may lead to discrepancies....

BD54 not allowing to delete logical system

Hi,
We did system refersh from Prod to Quality and further we found that while starting BDLS it was not allowing to do so. We got message like <Target> logical system already existing . Further checks revealed that in BD54 that our quality system's logical client entry was already there which would normally come after running BDLS post DB refresh activity for System refresh). Because of this issue we are unable to dlete the quality entry in BD54 and to further start our BDLS acitivty.
Please to confirm us as we are stuck.

Thanks all. I resolved my issue.
Solution:
1) Removed quality system RFC "STQCLNT002" from SM59 just to b sure nothing was blocking
2) Also entry of STQCLNT002 needs to be removed from BD97.
3) Further if you try to use ENTER when you try to delete entry inBD54 of quality it won't allow ,how many time you may try pressing enter to get away with the warning message. So solution here is to further double clieck on that warning message (in BD54) and see where its blocking . It will show you some method where its blocking .
4) To locate the method use txn BD64 and scan through the entires to get to the affected link (here it was STQCLNT002).
5) Be careful, do not delete the entry of STQCLNT002 itseld but actually the corresponding leaves of the methos needs only to be removed to over come the blocking in BD54 (where we wanted to remove the entry of STQCLNT002).
6) Now goto BD54 and and you can easily remove entry of STQCLNT002.
7)Now BDLS would easily start.

Party/Receiver determination/agreement with logical system

I have gone thru various messages in the forum dealing more or less with the issue, but haven't really found an answer to my problem yet.
XML orders from a Web shop are sent to XI, which I am mapping to an IDoc of type ORDERS.ORDERS05 to be sent to the SAP R/3 backend system. The partner profile in the backend system is defined as a logical system because (a) even though the Web shop is for a closed user group of known customers, I could not possible create a partner profile of type KU for every of them, and (b) I need to do some special stuff for IDocs of this order process which is triggered by a separate process code.
My plan in XI configuration was to create a new scenario and setting up either two parties or one party and a service without party (with a business service). I have tried both ways, but I am not getting it to work. The main reason for that is because of "Unable to convert sender service xxx to an ALE logical system". The "standard logical system" is used in another scenario already, and because of the special processing in the backend, I would like to keep it separate by a logical system defined for this process only anyway.
Posts with party definitions and logical system problems exist already, but I haven't really found a applicable answer. Can something be done in the header mapping (which I am not so familiar with yet) to get one or the other way to work, or is there another "good" way completely to handle this?
I am a little bit lost right now, and would appreciate your feedback. Thanks,

Creating multiple source systems one logical system

Hi,
The requirement is to create two source systems using same logical name and different RFC connections to ECC?
We wanted to do some regular activities using one source system and some drill down activities using different source system.
I am getting error when I try to create second source system "source system already exist"

Hi,
I dont think it is possible to create multiple source systems in a sinle logical client. You have to create multiple clients and you can connect to BI system by different RFCs.

I would like to understand about the Logical System(ORGLOGSY) from which table or from where this logical system being populating.
Because we could see this fields Logical System(ORGLOGSY) exist in PO item, HDR, SGR data sources.

If you are creating the BS for SAP R/3 in SLD means we have to give the LS name which we had in SAP R/3( goto SALE and take the LS from there)
Goto Assign LS-----take the client which you are using for SAP R/3 and take the LS name assigned to that Client

first i created logical sytem for erecruiting.
for BI the logical system already defined as it is already conected to SAP ecc.
Second step using tcode SCC4, now how to assign the logical system of e recruiting to BI client 100.
Already BI client 100 is assigned to SAP ecc logical system.
Its not allowing me to define another logical system for same client.
Am i doing the right step?

Source system is already exist

We are facing an issue with source system creation.
we have already created the RFC connetions between BW & ECC and there is no issue in RFC.
while creating the source system in RSA1 it giving the error Source system is already exist.
But there is no entry for the source system in tables RSLOGSYSDEST & TBDLS.
Both sides systems are opened inSCC4 & SE06.
Please help me out on this issue.

Are you sure it's saying the sourcesystem exist? Isn't it saying the connection 'XY' already exists? ('XY' may be formed by other letters).
You should check in the table RSBASIDOC in both BW and source system if you can see any entry already referring to the the logical name you are trying to create or the connection/TSPREFIX being used (the 'XY').

and I think due to above Error, Index on a Particular Attribute (EMP_ID) of a DIMENSION DIM_EMP is getting dropped from FEW of the Partitions (Folders) and started getting new error:

I followed the above path and did not find file 688.DIM_EMO.EMP_ID.fact.map in folder PARTITION_2013Q31.0.prt. Once I rebuild the Index (ProcessIndex) for this partition, I am able to See file 688.DIM_EMO.EMP_ID.fact.map.
But again when next time I get error "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service", Then 688.DIM_EMO.EMP_ID.fact.map will be dropped and will not be available in folder PARTITION_2013Q31.0.prt.
Anyone had similar issue. Could you please share your experience and resolution if any.

In your scenario, the issue occur at sometimes, right? Base on my research, the issue can be caused by that calculation estimate exceeded available memory. Possibly due to possible number of dimension members and sizes of keys. And 32bit environment didn’t
allow for any expansion to the SSAS memory space.
To avoid this issue, please try to use userva to fine tune the 3GB setting down to 2900 since /3GB is the likely
cause (has been for most other customers who encountered the same problem before). The KB Articles below discuss that setting in detail.
