" LogicPro has detected a possible conflict error "

Hi All,
I know this has been flagged before as a known issue but I cant see a specific answer based on my set up.
Error message :
" LogicPro has detected a possible conflict between one or more third party midi or audio drivers "
Background :
I have two macs, a macbook pro and a mac pro. On my macbook pro ( older system ) I have both Logic 7 & Logic Studio, On my macpro I only have Logic Studio.
I had a completed track on Logic 7, when trying to open in logic 8 I got the mentioned error, But when I copied the track to my new mac pro system i got the same error again, the mac pro is a recent buy and a fresh install.
Can some one please advise on how to resolve this issue, do i need to remove all automation data from the original copy within logic 7 then transfer across ?
Really keen to sort out as planning to wipe my macbook pro and re-start from scratch when snow-leopard is released
Hope someone can advise
Cheers
Andy

I guess I'd search for all drivers, and see what comes up. Delete al that aren't Core audio, and make sure I have the current M-Audio driver for your device and re-install it. Just a guess, really...

  • "Logic has detected a possible conflict "" -- HELP!

The full error message is, "Logic has detected a possible conflict between one or more third party MIDI or audio drivers. Be sure to install the latest drivers for all audio and MIDI equipment connected to your computer, and remove any older or unused drivers."
OK, where exactly on my mac do these older or unused drivers live???

I've looked through some old threads on this issue and some seem to have been produced by track automation, which wouldn't be causing my issue as none of my tracks have automation.
Everything has worked perfectly up until just today; the only thing that changed was I installed the 3.0.1 version of Guitar Rig 3. I thought it might have something to do with the driver for Rig Kontrol hardware, so I deleted and reinstalled... Same Conflict message. So I force-quit Logic and opened a track that was all software instruements -- same problem.
Can anyone help me? I am desperate here!!!

  • GarageBand has detected a possible conflict between one or more third party

I have 200 computers that when you launch GarageBand 3.0.5 it comes up with the error:
GarageBand has detected a possible conflict between one or more third party MIDI or audio drivers
Our image is basically 10.5.6 with mainly Adobe CS 3 suite. No other sound programs or anything sound or video related was installed besides iLife 06 and I'm not sure what is causing the issue. I have tried reinstalling iLife 06 and run all updates available from Apple and repairing permissions. I have went through the plugins in /Library/Audio folder and haven't had any luck at all.
What gets me is under the admin account I have it working fine by removing the default emagic plugin in /Library/Audio/ etc.. but if I log in as a regular user without admin privileges i get the error.
I have tried deleting pref files in the users Preferences folder, but I just can't find a workaround.
It kinda seems to be like a permissions issue since the Admin account works, but I have tried pushing permissions 777 to /Library/Application Support/ and to /Library/Audio and to /Applications/Garageband.app and still no results.
I was blaming an Apple update because things worked fine before, I'm not sure what caused it. I reinstalled the combo update and that didn't help either.
I reformatted and installed 10.5 and upgraded using the combo updater to 10.5.6 and installed iLife 06 and installed all available updates from Apple like I have in the image and things work fine.
But I need to get this working on our image.........Anyone have any ideas as to what could possible be the issue and might know a fix????
Google searches the solutions I have found are repairing permissions and deleting plugins. I have tried repairing permissions and have no plugins besides the defaults, but I have already removed the emagic one and nothing else is in there.
    Thanks!!

To get me through the year I deleted a bunch of Microsoft Office Receipts in /Library/Receipts and it fixed the issue.
I have no idea why, deleting a receipt from another app shouldn't affect anything, but it worked. I spent many hours trying to figure out a solution and this worked!
We are running iLife 09 now and no issues so far!

  • "garageband has detected a possible conflict..."

I see that this problem has come up a lot in the past but none of the solutions I've found have worked so far. I'm working on fixing garageband for the computers in my high school's music tech lab and this is the error message I'm getting:
"garageband has detected a possible conflict between one or more third party MIDI or audio drivers"
I've tried deleting the "com.apple.garageband.plist" file in Library/Preferences/, but to no avail.
I've also looked for drivers in: Library/Audio/Midi Drivers but we are using the M-Audio Keystation 61es (http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Keystation61es.html) which doesn't require drivers, so there is nothing in that folder...
There are at least 2 computers in the lab that are having this issue. GB works in the "Teacher" admin account but not in "Student", so I'm running a Permissions Repair in disk utility for one of the computers right now. The rest of them work in "Student".
In the meantime, is there anything I have overlooked...? Would like to have this issue dealt with by later today or tomorrow... thanks! here's some info:
    Mac OS X version 10.5.8
    Model: iMac
    MIDI: M-Audio Keystation 61es
The only other things plugged into the computer are headphones and a mouse/keyboard.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had been looking in student/library/. I went to Macintosh HD/library, took the com.apple.garageband.plist file and the EmagicUSBDriver.plugin and threw them both into a temp file on the desktop. Opened up garageband and the issue is still present... I'll restart and see what happens, would deleting the files completely make any difference then having them in a different folder?
Otherwise would the permissions repair work? I'm hoping we don't have to end up reformatting these computers...
    Thanks for the quick response!

  • Logic Pro *8 has detected a possible conflict between one or more...

NOTE: This has NOTHING to do with opening Logic 7 sessions in Logic 8. This warning repeatedly pops up when starting Logic Pro 8, and when opening new sessions, and when adding tracks...and it's just unbeatable.
Logic Pro has detected a possible conflict between one or more third party MIDI or audio drivers.
I only suppose this could be either the Oxygen 8, or Digidesign 002 drivers? But Im certain that I do NOT use the 002 drivers.
Anyone know about this? I only started seeing this problem after upgrading to both Leopard, and Logic Pro 8.
Could my dongle be the problem? Hehe, I still have that plugged in from Logic 6!
Ouch, this problem is so persistent I'm going to go back to Logic Pro 7.

    hi.
Having just experienced this problem, I tried reinstalling the pace InterLok Extensions but this did not help. I then uninstalled the extensions (using the uninstaller script provided by pace) and now everything works. I need pace for some software i own so this is not a permanent solution for me...
(I experienced this problem using logic 7.2.3 on OSX 10.4.11)

  • The wireless system has detected a possible intrusion attack by signature..

We are getting the following "critical" alert with the following:
    Description
NULL Probe Response - Zero length SSID element
    Message
{controller} IDS 'NULL probe resp 1' Signature attack detected on AP 'AP Name' protocol '802.11b/g' on Controller 'x.x.x.x'. The Signature description is 'NULL Probe Response - Zero length SSID element', with precedence '2'. The attacker's mac address is 'xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx', channel number is '6', and the number of detections is '1'.
    Help
The wireless system has detected a possible intrusion attack by signature detection for a specific attacker. Immediate attention is required.
I'm trying to find more information on this and am wondering if this is a false/positive.
    Thanks for help in advance.

I would point more towards a false positive alert here.
NULL Probe Response - Zero length SSID element:
Some frames are permitted to carry a null (zero length) SSID, called a broadcast SSID. For example, a station can send a probe request that carries a broadcast SSID; the AP must return its actual SSID in the probe response. Some APs can be configured to send a zero-length broadcast SSID in beacon frames instead of sending their actual SSID. However, it is not possible to keep an SSID value secret, because the actual SSID (ESS name) is carried in several frames.
As far as how to modify the IDS sensor in the WLC:

  • Windows has detected a registry/configuration error

I haven't used my Protege 3110CT in many years.  When I start to boot up I get the message:
Warning: Windows has detected a registry/configuration error. Use SCANREG to correct this error.
However, I cannot get into DOS to do a SCANREG nor do I know any other method.
I do not have any of the startup disks.
My machine has Windows ME on it.
I do have an external floppy drive and CD drive.
    Any assistance is appreciated.

You can download a bootable DOS floppy here.
       http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm
If you can locate a download of Scanreg.exe, then boot to DOS and run scanreg /restore to
go back to a previous known working copy of your Windows Me registry.
Maybe this one works (I don't know).

  • MainStage message: possible conflict with third party midi or audio drivers

Just when I thought everything was going to be ok...
MainStage gives me a message that it detects a possible conflict with third party audio or midi drivers. The only midi device I'm using is class compliant (doesn't need a driver). My audio interface is an Apogee Duet and I'm using the most recent driver. Logic registers no such complaint. MainStage freezes. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hello.
I am seeing this whenever MIDI events are being sent into either Logic or MainStage (primarily MainStage), while they are launching. On my setup, this will either crash the application during launch, ( sent to Apple ) or trigger this "...3rd party conflict / driver..." dialog.
In either instance, disabling incoming MIDI messages by turning them off on all connected MIDI devices, or as suggested, waiting to connect the device in question until, the application is fully launched, fixes my version of this issue.
** Please Note: In my experience, increasing the number incoming MIDI messages, exacerbates the issue and, makes a dialog or crash more likely to occur.
    Hope this is helpful.

  • Error message "iTunes has detected an iPod that appears to be corrupted"

Everything used to work just fine until recently. On my Windows XP Home SP3 laptop, with iTunes (version 9.0.2.25) already open, I connect my 5th Generation iPod Nano and get the following message in iTunes:
"iTunes has detected an iPod that appears to be corrupted. You may need to restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting the iPod."
If I plug the iPod into the computer without first starting iTunes, the Windows ‘Auto Play’ message comes up immediately then disappears and then the following message appears:
"Your iPod needs to be formatted for use with Windows. Would you like to run iTunes to restore your iPod Now?"
Otherwise, the iPod functions normally when not connected in iTunes. I can play the music, videos, and record videos with no problems.
The troubleshooting steps I took were:
I performed a reset of the Nano by first sliding the hold switch on/off a few cycles, leaving switch off (no orange showing), then pressed and held the Menu + Select button until the Apple logo appeared. Then I tried it in iTunes again; no such luck, same error. I then did a reset again, this time with the iPod connected to an AC power source; still no luck. I tried the reset numerous times and it didn’t help.
Next, I ran the diagnostics by pressing and holding the Menu + Select buttons immediately followed by the Select + Reverse buttons. I stepped through all the diagnostics tests and all tests passed as far as I could tell (there was no errors reported).
After this, I tried it in iTunes again and still no luck.
I even tried the iPod on my Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit) machine and it behaved the same way. The version of iTunes on that machine was at an earlier version when I first tried it there. I then upgraded iTunes to the latest version but that didn’t help either.
I can sync my iPod Touch and 2nd gen Nano without any problems.
Sorry about be long winded about this but I am wondering if anyone else may have other suggestions. I want to try and avoid a restore if possible because I have some videos I recorded that I would like to get off the iPod. I’m not concerned about my music files as I have them always backed up but didn’t get the videos off yet.

I am having this same problem with my brand new Mac Pro. It seems to be tied to the computer awaking from sleep (no I am not leaving the iPod connected while sleep... I am referring to waking the computer from sleep and then connecting iPod as opposed to restarting the computer and then connecting the iPod). In other words, if you are getting this error message, try ejecting the iPod, restart your computer, then connect the iPod and see if the error message goes away. For me it does, but I only get one shot at it, if I eject the iPod and then reconnect it, the error message returns. This happens on both iPods I have. I have rebooted (hold menu-select) and gone to disc mode (hold select-play) and the error message remains. The only way it goes away is to reboot the computer, then I get one shot at hooking up an iPod.
I NEVER had nor get this error message when I connect to the Windows PC that I started with. Perhaps the iPod does not like moving from PC to Mac?

  • Hello. Apple hardware test has detected an error. 4SNS/1/40000001:TN1D--1.000

Hello. Apple hardware test has detected an error. 4SNS/1/40000001:TN1D--1.000  Anyone knows what that means ? OS doesn't boot. Maybe it's hard disk error ?

It means your screwed if you're out of warranty.
That error translates to your northbridge temperature sensor is bad- BUT IN MAC "GENIUS" LAND, that means you either need a whole new logic board (a $700 part) or buy a new MacBook. On the non-unibody MacBook pros, you could have came to my store and spend $75 and had a working computer the same day- this is no longer possible on the unibody MacBooks.
    WHY, WHY, WHY?
In a bold design move, Apple decided to SOLDER the thermal sensors to the logic board (along with many other components such as the video, graphics and IO), thus rendering these parts NON-SERVICEABLE by us independant technicians. Apple's reasoning is that they can "make their notebooks thinner", but why sacrifice performace for asthetics? Who cares, buy a new MacBook.
    WHO NEEDS TEMPERATURE SENSORS?
It doesn't matter if your laptop is running hot or not, when a temperature sensor goes bad on a Mac, it shuts your computer down to prevent further damage. Apple was the first company to implement this "failsafe", now PC motherboard vendors are following suit after watching Apple's stock soar. What this means: Is that you could actually have a perfectly functioning MacBook except for one thing; the little guy who's sole purpose is to report whether it's not the computer is running hot or not has decided to not show up for work, so they closed up shop. If you ask me, it's the equivalent of a restaraunt closing on account of not having a dishwasher- but that's just the opinion of an ex-certified ACMT and what do I know- I'm not a "genius" or anything.

  • Window has detected and IPS Address Conflict

To Whom this my concern,  I keep getting this message, which, I had mention in the subject line.  I have reset my wifi box and the box, that Charter gave me quit a few times. But, this message keeps on coming up, for some odd reason or another.
I was just wondering.  I had a Hp Lap Top 2000, that some one had stoolen off me, quit a few months, ago. I reported it to the police station and HP and they said that they could not do anything about it. Because, I absolutely lost my serial number, that I had written down.
But, I used the same email addresses and Passwords on both computes. So, I was just a wondering if the person could be useing the lap top, that I had gotten stoolen from me and this is the way, this is why this message keeps popping up on my computer.
Oh, I even called up Charter and mention it to them and they absolutely could not figure out what is going on either. So, I just thought, that I would text it on the internet.  To see if any one absolutely knew what was going on.
Well, if you want to get in touch with me.  My email address it [Personal Information Removed]  or

    Hi @Rockiebates1949 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your Window has detected and IPS Address Conflict on your Home Network. This error message indicates that another computer on the network is using the same IP address that your computer is using. Each computer on a network must have a unique IP address. To fix this problem, run the Network troubleshooter.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks.

When I hook my ipod up to my mac I used to get the Itunes has detected an ipod that appears to be corrupted error message. Sounds like your iPod is broken. Take it to Apple or someone else who repairs iPods and see if you can get it fixed, or get it replaced.

  • I just moved my itunes library from a win 7 computer to a win 8.1 computer. Getting an error message "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly. Can't play CDs or get audio file from web!

Help! I just moved my itunes library from a Win 7 computer to a new Win 8.1 computer following the instructions on the itunes website. Everything is good except I'm getting an error message on the Win 8 computer if I try to play a CD or get an audio file off of the internet. I get an error message that says "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly. I don't know where to look for or fix the audio configuration on the win 8 computer. As far as I can tell the iTunes configuration looks the same as on the other computers in the house. At this point I don't dare plug my ipod touch into the Win 8 computer for fear it will get messed up.

I have the same problem and I know that it is due to my PCI Audio driver not being compatible with WIndows 8.1.
iTunes isn't the only program that can't direct sound to the built-in speakers anymore. The obvious solution would be to update the drivers, but unfortunately Dell does not provide an updated driver for my model, so I am stuck with that.
However, saying that, only my laptop speakers are affected by this. I can use sound fine on applications where I can choose the output device and direct sound to the head phones, but for some reason iTunes does not let you choose the audio device manually.
To listen to music I imported the iTunes Library in Windows Media Player and changed the audio output using the following instructions: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/c00d11ba
However, I would also like to rent movie's from iTunes,
Would be great if iTunes would let you choose the output device, too, like most other applications using sound  from Skype to Windows Media Player,...

  • Error message after upgrade to iTunes 11: "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly."  At this point my PC running XP loses all audio.

Several attempts to upgrade to iTunes 11 have failed.  After an upgrade to 11 the error message reads: "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly."  At this point--after the upgrade to iTunes 11--my PC running Windows XP loses audio playback for all functions--in iTunes, in the browser and the volume icon disappears from the System Tray.  Only by removing iTunes 11, and then using System Restore to turn back the OS settings can I return the PC to normal functioning.
I did that.  I reinstalled iTunes 10.5.  Everything seemed fine, but when I try to plug in and copy a CD to my iPhone 4S an error message reads roughly: 'iPhone 4S requires iTunes 10.5 or higher to work.'
What might be the problem with my audio configuration?
Why doesn't my iPhone 4S work with iTunes 10.5?  It used to work with iTunes 10.5.
    Please advise.
