Login and password can't be saved(ftp)

Hello
Still using Dreamweaver8 on a pc-xp.
Somehow in the "Managing Sites" > Edit > Remote Info
>
the login and password have dissapeared to access the remote
files,
after the program has been shut and reopened again.
Is there another way to store this information in a file?
Where on the filesystem?
Greetings

Thank you, John. That was quick. Now I Understand that it
happened after
reinstallling a backup system with Ghost, in May. The
Ghost-backup did
not have the 8.02-Upgrade yet. Had the Upgrade-Installer
still on my
second hard drive. Thank You.

  • Lost both login and password

upgraded and lost everything in ichat. and now i don't remember my ichat login and password. can i get that somewhere or do i have to set up a new account?
    thanks

Insert the install disk that came with your MacBook. Reboot holding the C Key down. Once it boots from the install disk continue until you get to a window the has the menu bar across the top. Look under Utilities and find the *Reset Password* item. Change it and you should be able to log in again once you reboot your system.

  • FTP login and password are not saved on some sites

On some of my sites the FTP login and password are not saved
(even though the "saved" box is checked). Dreamweaver 8.0 on XP
SP2. I can export the site information and then import the same
file exported and there still will be no login or password placed
in the login or password window. I opened the exported .ste files
in notepad and found the login correct and the password incorrect.
I uninstalled Dreamveaver and reinstalled still same
    problem.

Ok, I just spent about 3 hours on this. Here's the latest
that I've found. I had looked at the knowledgebase and my registry
matched what was suggested. As this has been an ongoing issue for
me, I thought it was still an issue. Apparently 8.02 did have some
    improvements.
I can only guess that many of the 36 sites I have in the Site
Manager lost info before the .02 update.. or I hope so.
I did however discover that there is still what could be
considered a minor bug. I went in to Manage Sites and selected edit
for all of my sites, fixing the ones that had lost their user/pass
info. I'm not positive, but I think only the last edited site kept
    it's data.
I discovered after many checks on all the sites, over and
over and over, that it appears that they are now holding the data,
but, if I add the user/pass, I must not only click the OK button to
close that particular site, but I must also click the 'Done' button
before only that one will be saved.
So, I thought I was fixing logins when in fact I was only
fixing one at a time.. Completely closing 'Manage Site' seemed to
hold one new set of login data each time. Seems that it shouldn't
    be this way.
But I must say, I am rejoicing at the moment, as I actually
have all my sites set up with FTP info and I am now looking forward
to hopefully adding more and maybe they'll actually be available
    for the next editing session.

  • I can't remember by FTP login and password CS4

How do I find out my login and password with Dreamweaver CS4. I can't upload any modified web pages without this password. Can I have someone e-mail me a new password? Can I just change to a new password?

    >Still nothing working…
What does that mean? It's not working after you disabled your firewall?
    >I DO NOT know how to start a second FTP username and password and use that in Dreamweaver.
See if this helps. It's a step-by-step guide for Hostmonster FTP.
    https://my.hostmonster.com/cgi/help/ftpaccounts
    >Could I just delete the site entirely from Dreamweaver and start a fresh one with new username
No, that's not the problem. The credentials you enter in DW must match your FTP account credentials of your site.

  • How can I force ALL logins and passwords to save/remember

I have upgraded to Firefox 8.0. However I can no longer force force Firefox to remember my logins and passwords for certain sites. I was able to do this with my old version by changing some config setting. However, I can not find anything about 8.0 where I can do that again. I'm running XP Pro. Can anyone help? Thanks.

The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

  • Saving login and password of the server in MD5-Challenge

I want to authenticate the server automatically using MD5-Challenge with Cisco Secure ACS4.1.
When I unplugged and plugged the network cable, it always prompt for login and password.
How can I avoid this process?
What can I do if I want to have authentication automatically at the start-up of my server.
Note: All the fonctionnality of the ACS server is OK

This is a function of the server. How this will work, if at all, depends on which type of server you have.
Which server, which network device and what scenario are you using with MD5?

  • DW8 forgets FTP login and password

Each time I open Dreamweaver 8 to work on my site, I have to
re-enter the FTP login and password. This only began happening
recently. I check SAVE box, but DW8 does not save the login or
password ... so I have to re-enter every time. PLEASE advise what
could be causing this. Thank you very, very, very much!

  • Captive Wi-Fi network not saving login and password

Since yesterday my iPhone 5S stopped asking if I want to save the login and password information when start a session on a captive Wi-Fi network. The settings Safari>Passwords & Autofill is on and Safari isn't in Private mode. It was working until yesterday and had the option to automatically fill in when I touched the login field.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
    iPhone 5S - iOS 8.0.2

Well, I tried to duplicate what you talked about. I have my wireless here at home, and I chose, "Forget this network" and when I went to rejoin, it asked for a password. Many public networks take their username and password through the browser. Have you tried to open Safari to see if it will default to the username/password screen? I've used mine at hotels that change their access every 24 hours and if I try to log back on after the time, it defaults back to the login screen. That is the only solution that I can think of. And yes, if you go to settings and reset network settings, it will clear all of them.

  • Why can't I use the same login and password for apps and cloud

I try to go on to face time and it asks for my login and password which works
ok with the App Store but is not recognised when using face time or I cloud

You can, if logged in using the same Apple ID for all.

  • Dreamweaver 8 forgets ftp login and password

I entered my FTP information in Dreamweaver 8's Remote Info
section, and clicked the Save checkbox. When I open Dreamweaver, it
remembers the ftp host, but the login and password are blank. Any
    ideas?

go to adobe.com site and get the 8.02 update installer.

Hello Pete from another old guy,
It sounds like you have an older iMac than the 2006 and newer model this forum covers. The problem is that, in 2006, Apple changed from PowerPC to Intel processors and third-party developers soon stopped making new software for the older processors. That's why you cannot upgrade Flash player--the current version requires a Mac the "2006 and later" processor.
However, not having a current version of FlashPlayer should not affect your ability to download. If you try downloading, do you get an error message or does something else happen?
Do you have another web browser like FireFox or Camino on your computer?
but would love to get my MAC back up to date and running right.
Well, "running right" may be doable but "up to date" may not be. You are already at as high a Mac OS level that a pre-2006 Mac can use.  We need to pin down your variant to make recommendations. From your Apple menu at the left end of the menu bar, do "About this Mac":
    That brings up this window:
Let us know what yours say for "processor." The two choices are "PowerPC" as in the example, or "Intel." If you  have an Intel processor, you have more options available.
    Awaiting your report,
    Allan

  • Safari 7 Preferences: I can't delete a web site login and password

    Hello:
I can't delete a safari web site login and password
After tapping delete all there is 1 item still in the box.
    ¿How can I delete it?
    Thak's in advance,
    Luis

I had the same problem, and the solution was to delete the entries using the Keychain Access tool, found in Applications → Utilities. You can search for the entry there, remove it, and then it will be deleted from Safari as well.
(I had to do this when I changed my email address on Amazon, and all the auto-login pages had the old email addresses and wouldn't update. I tried to delete them from Safari's passwords dialog and ran into the problem you described).
Note that this question provides the same answer in more detail.

Starts up like the first time you buy a new Mac, but after filling in all that info again, you should have access to the computer and the other Users & files will still be there... though I was just thinking, this new User probably shouldn't be the same name as an existing one.

  • Somehow firefox now opens with my windows mail. Each time I enter my password it asks if I want to save it so I don't have to retype my login and password each time. I hit yes and when I leave firefox it doesn't keep my password. I would like to either

I recently went to open my windows live mail, which normally opens because it has my login and password saved. Now it opens in firefox and I have to retype my login and password everytime I open my mail. I would like when I open my mail not to have to retype my login and password as this is why I have it set up in the original windows mail anyway. So I have attempted to live with this problem by adjusting the options to save my password and when I close out of firefox and try to reopen it later in the day I have to retype my login and password again.

  • Printer is asking for an user acces code instead of windows login and password?

I have been seeing the HP printers asking(LaserJet M4555 MFP, LaserJet 500 color MFP M575 etc) for user access code instead of windows login and password.
One thing i have noticed  is that when this happens there is a slight change in the EWS page configuration at security -> access control. The device administrator tabe is unchecked as you can see below ehen this happens
Have tried cold resetting the printer and restore facory settings but this does not works and some thimes it does works for a while but the issue is returing back.
We do not need this access code promt instead we need the usual windows login and password that used be there originally.
alsothis is how the settings look like after a cold reset somtimes when it does not  asks for user access code , the problem is cold rese does lways works and it reverts back ois original settings
