Login issue to E-business suite from desktop

Hi All,
I have installed oracle ebs 11.5.10.2 on a linux x86 machine and started the application. I tested the application by entering the url http://apps.test.com:8005
and I am able to login using my user id and password.
While the above is working good, I went to my laptop and tried the same url, but the browser doesn't open the login page. How can I fix this issue?
my desktop domain is cfl.rr.com. Does this cause any issue?
Thanks and Regards,
Badri.

my desktop domain is cfl.rr.com. Does this cause any issue? You try to login from windows client right? If answer yes what is your windows OS?(xp-vista etc) I assume you are using Xp then, you have to follow those steps:
1. Add your http://apps.test.com:8005 to your trusted site
2. Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc and edit your hosts file , add your site information there like:
10.x.x.x apps.test.com
3. Be sure you use certifed browser, please check:
Recommended Browsers for Oracle E-Business Suite 11i Doc ID: 285218.1
4. If possible close windows firewall
And retest issue
Hope it helps

No one can login to Oracle E-Business Suite.

Note 269884.1 How To Fix The Forms Timeout Issue In Oracle Applications 11i
Note 171261.1 Description of the New Session Timeout Functionality in Apps 11i
    FND Patchset D or Higher
The following are the best practice setup:
    1. Profile Options:
    ICX: Session Timeout = 30
    ICX:Limit Time = 12
    ICX:Limit connect = 2000
These Profiles control the Forms Session. If a Timeout is caused by a
    ICX Profile you will be
    prompted to log back in.
    2. Apache zone.properties:
    session.timeout = 1800000
Session.timeout is what controls the Self Service Timeout. If this
times out, you will not be
prompted to log back in and will receive a
    JSP/WEB type error message.
    3. appsweb.cfg and or appsweb_host_sid.cfg file:
    networkRetries=30
    heartbeat =2
    4. FORMS60_TIMEOUT = 60 (check <SID>.env for this)
    5. Bounce Forms Server.
    6. Clear Apache cache $OA_HTML/_pages (optional)
    7. Bounce Apache Server.

  • Issue with executing Business Rules from Planning web

    Hi,
We are using Hyperion Planning 9.3.0.1 and we keep getting an issue with the Business Rules. We get an error if we try to run the rules from Planning web. The same rules validates and executes fine if we run it from AAS. This issue gets resolved if we restart the Planning and RMI service. But this issue keeps happening randomly. Is there a permanent resolution to it? Is it a bug or I am missing something here?
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi,
Have you installed any of the patches for 9.3.0.1, I think it goes up to 9.3.0.1.09
One of the fixes was :-
8-665086601 (6588823) – When the Business Rules connection to the relational database is lost, Business Rules does not reconnect to it. To solve this problem, an optional property, HBR_CONNECTION_VALIDATE_TIME, was added to HBRServer.properties. This property specifies a time interval for checking the connection between Business Rules and the relational database. If the connection is not valid, a new connection is established. The time interval is specified in milliseconds and defaults to 300,000 (five minutes).
Though I know there has been more attention to fixing known issues on 9.3.1 than 9.3.0.1
    Cheers

  • Interfacing to oracle 11i e-business suite from external applications

I would like to send and receive data interactively from an external application to Oracle e-business suite 11i. Can you please point to me the API's or any other starting points. (Comparable to SAP's ALE..via BAPI's, IDOC's etc.)
    Abeezar

Thanks to previous responder for tip regarding JDK/JRE anchor strings. I'm not sure if that is a problem. After letting the install process (java.exe) run for over an hour, I finally got past the InstantiateFile step. It looks like the process just takes a long time with no visible progress sometimes. After 5-6 hrs, it looked like the install succeeded (for the most part). There were still some errors in the error logs related to the Concurrent Manager (TNS-12541: TNS:no listener) I believe. If anyone has insight on what this error msg means, I would greatly appreciate a reply.
The other problem I am tackling right now is how to explicitly set the Forms processing mode to HTTP rather than the default socket mode. According to the 11i docs (and Forms Developer 6i docs), you should only have to set "connectMode=HTTP" in the config file, appsweb.cfg, to make this happen. However, when I try bringing up a client form, the form hangs. So, obviously, something is amiss. A related question is whether one can run Forms in only HTTP mode and not HTTPS (and thus avoid having to install SSL). I would greatly appreciate any insight from fellow users.

  • PL/SQL API for Creating Sales Order in E Business Suite from BPEL

    Hi,
I am new to Oracle SOA 11g.
I have done the Deleting Sales Order using PL/SQL API ( Oracle Apps Adapter ) [ API Name: OE_ORDER_PUB.DELETE_ORDER ]. While executing the BPEL, it is correctly deleting Sales Order in E Business Suite which is created EBS User Interface. I don't face any problem while deleting the sales order.
Now, in same way, I have to create a new Sales Order using PL/SQL API. I don't find any API's related to creating Sales Order in Order Management Suite (OM_PF) -->Order Management (ONT) --> Sales Order (ONT_SALES_ORDER) --> PL/SQL --> Process Order API (OE_ORDER_PUB) in Module Browser.
Please tell me which PL/SQL API to use to create new Sales Order in BPEL.
    Thanks,

You may be on a different patch level. Can you ensure that you have applied all latest patches for your version?

  • Unable to login to Oracle E-Business Suite R12 on Windows 2003

    Hi,
I have recently installed EBS R12 on WIN 2003 that finished successfully.
I can launch the login page - http://prora.com.au:8000/OA_HTML/AppsLogin
I entered user/passwd as SYSADMIN/sysadmin but it didn't allow me to get inside.
It doesn't display any error message; it just come back to login screen.
I restarted couple of Services and checked OPMN managed processes etc; all seem to be fine. I have tried stopping/starting all services - adstpall.cmd/adstrall.cmd.
I can login to DB etc.
This is my second attempt to install EBS; my first attempt was on Linux that failed exactly with the same issue as above.
This installation is on VMWARE machine.
I tried to access the applictaion via IE 6, IE 8, Mozilla and Chrome as well; all in vain.
There is nothing suspicious in the Apache logs; there is no error log at all.
Can someone gives me some idea what to check next?
    Thanks,
    Ashton

  • Login Issues with Blackboard Academic Suite

I have a Curve 8330 v4.5.0.66, and I am trying to login to Blackborad Academic Suite.  The device will load the homepage, and the "User Login" icon appears, but when I hover over the icon the mouse arrow does not turn into a finger and I cannot select it to login.  It seems to be treating the login box like a regular picture?!?
The URL is http://blackboard.ecu.edu if you would like to give it a try on your device.
    Thanks!

whatyou have done following the third screenshot is configure the browser called "Internet Browser".
the next step is to.. use that specific browser when going to that login page.
    to do so :
open the browser, open menu, select "Go To"
select the line with the correct URL, open menu, choose "change browser" and select the "Internet Browser". then hit enter then enter.

  • Must not use Java 1.7 when using E-Business Suite

This notification is being posted at the request of Oracle Corporation
All E-Business Suite desktop administrators must disable the JRE Auto-Update for their end users immediately to stop it updating to Java 1.7.
URGENT BULLETIN: Disable JRE Auto-Update for All E-Business Suite End-Users.
The following link from my fellow blogger Steve Chan explains more: https://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/entry/bulletin_disable_jre_auto_update
To disable automatic updates, you do this in the Java Control Panel using this workflow:
    1. From the Windows Start button launch Control Panel
    2. Double-click on the Java icon
    3. On the Update tab, uncheck the box that says Check for updates automatically.
    4. Click the OK button to complete
So why is this required? If you have Auto-Update enabled, your JRE 1.6 version will be updated to JRE 7. This may happen as early as July 3, 2012. This will definitely happen after Sept. 7, 2012, after the release of 1.6.0_35 (6u35).
Oracle Forms is not compatible with JRE 7 yet. JRE 7 has not been certified with Oracle E-Business Suite yet. Oracle E-Business Suite functionality based on Forms -- e.g. Financials -- will stop working if you upgrade to JRE 7.
If you have already upgraded to 1.7 but already have 1.6 you do not need to uninstall 1.7. You can just tell the system which one to use. You do this using this workflow:
    1. From the Windows Start button launch Control Panel
    2. Double-click on the Java icon
    3. On ths Java tab, click the View button
    4. Uncheck the Enabled box against 1.7 and check the box against 1.6
    5. Click the OK button to complete
There is also a known issue with WebLogic 10.3.6 and JDK 1.7 and you must use JDK 1.6 for that. I will be posting on my blog shortly about this issue.
Seems to me therefore that until further notice, even for Discoverer, but definitely for E-Business Suite that you must stay on Java 1.6.

    Hi Jerre
I hear your concern and when I heard about the issues with E-Business Suite and Java 7 I was horrified. After all, we kind of got used to this when Sun and Oracle were separate but now that Oracle own both you would think these problems would have gone away.
I'm not an insider to the problems with E-Business Suite and I urge anyone that is using it to wait for Oracle's solution and /or follow the great blog owned by Steven Chan which is dedicated to EBS. I took another look a few minutes ago and the advice is still the same - to NOT upgrade to Java 7 if you have E-Business Suite you need to roll back to Java 6 and turn off the automatic updates.
As for Discoverer, I have 10g clients whose workstations were automatically upgraded to Java 7 and had their applications fail. I have always advised my clients to turn off automatic updating of Java and keep their client Java at the same level as the server. There were serious issues here in the past but those were when Sun and Oracle were separate. We had compatibility issues when servers were on Java 5 and workstations upgraded to Java 6 and it looks like we may be having the same problems between Java 6 and Java 7.
I tend to notice far fewer problems in corporate environments when IT departments manage the versions of Java on their servers and workstations rather than let it auto upgrade.
It was me who uncovered a bug in 11.1.1.6 where the Java 7 JDK was not working. Since then Oracle issued a Discoverer patch to allow it to work with Java 7 so for users of 11.1.1.6 you should be OK now to go ahead and allow Java to upgrade. Mind you, if the same workstations need to connect to Forms or E-Business Suite the advice given earlier to not upgrade stilll applies - that is unless someone knows otherwise.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • Oracle ADF security integration with Oracle E-Business Suite SDK JAAS

I have an Oracle ADF 11.1.2.2 application that is using ADF security for authentication and authorization.
When we deploy this application to our JDeveloper integrated weblogic server, we utilize the security setting of "Custom" and use weblogic users and roles to map to the ADF application roles. In that environment our security is working properly.
I have a Weblogic 10.3.5 standalone server that has the ADF runtime installed as well as the Oracle E-Business Suite SDK JAAS implementation installed.
When I deploy the Oracle ADF application to the standalone weblogic server, I am directed to the JAAS login page when I attempt to access any JSF page (including those that I have granted View access through the anonymous-role. Does the Oracle ADF anonymous-role work (allow for anonymous page access) when JAAS security is handled by the Oracle E-Business Suite SDK JAAS implementation?
Per the SDK instructions, when we install the Oracle ADF deployment on Weblogic we have selected "DD only" for our security setting. We have defined enterprise roles in the Oracle ADF security setup (jazn-data.xml) that are assigned the appropriate application roles. Those enterprise roles have the same name (i.e. UMX|YOURROLE) as the E-Business Suite roles that are assigned to our test users. When we login with an E-Business Suite user / password we are receiving an error:
    Error 401--Unauthorized
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.2 401 Unauthorized
Any thoughts on why that would be?
    Thanks
    Dan

    Thanks Juan.
With the debugging options enabled it appears the issue is not an issue with the user / role credentials - it seems like the resource grants from jazn-data.xml are not being reviewed in my standalone weblogic instance EAR deployment:
    [JpsAuth] Check Permission
    PolicyContext: [TestApp]
    Resource/Target: [untitled1PageDef]

    2. JpsPrincipal: oracle.security.jps.internal.core.principals.JpsAnonymousRoleImpl "anonymous-role" GUID=null DN=null)
When I access the same page from my integrated weblogic server I see:
    [JpsAuth] Check Permission
    PolicyContext: [TestApp]
    Resource/Target: [untitled1PageDef]
    Action: [view]
    Permission Class: [oracle.adf.share.security.authorization.RegionPermission]

    2. JpsPrincipal: oracle.security.jps.internal.core.principals.JpsAnonymousRoleImpl "anonymous-role" GUID=null DN=null)
When I review my EAR - I do see jazn-data.xml at:
    /META-INF/jazn-data.xml
I will review the system-jazn-data.xml to see if the policy information has been migrated properly as part of the EAR deployment.
    Thanks.

  • E-business suite option not available

    Hi ,
I dont see an option Navigate to e-business suite in action list. what could be the reason. i have added the field "<ebusinesssuiteconfig>
    <visible>true</visible>
    </ebusinesssuiteconfig>"
The ebusinesssuiteconfig element specifies that an Oracle E-Business Suite system is available. If this element is present in the configuration file, Oracle BI Presentation Services displays the menu option that allows users to create a Navigate to E-Business Suite action. Users must have the proper privileges to access E-Business Suite from Oracle BI Presentation Services.
The following example is an ebusinesssuiteconfig entry.
    <ebusinesssuiteconfig>
    <visible>true</visible>
    </ebusinesssuiteconfig>
when i go to OBI -> New -> Action -> i dont see Navigate to EBS suite. what could be the reason for it?
    Thanks,
    RM

    Hi RM,
have you seen this thread Re: OBIEE Integration  with EBS 11.5.10 or R12 Apps
My issue is resolved. Problem was that the EBS DB user that I was using in RPD didn't have access to all the required packages and because of that it was giving error that NQ_SESSION>ICS_SESSION_COOKIE has not variable definiation.
If you are using APPS user that you should not have any problem but if you are using other DB user and its not super user that check if the user have Execute privileges on the following packages:
    FND_GLOBAL
    fnd_run_function
    fnd_function
    APP_SESSION
this should resolve the issue. I hope you already know that both EBS and OBIEE should be on same domain and use same HTTP protocol like HTTPS or HTTP.
    Is it your case ?

  • How to put links to E-Business suite pages in Oracle Portal

    Hi All,
I am looking to create an employee portal using Oracle Portal 11g. One of the requirements is to provide some summary information on, say benefits in the portal and provide a link to the detailed benefits page in e-business suite from there (portal is fully integrated with EBS in our case). Can someone with experience doing this put light on the following :
    1. What is the simplest way to provide the links ?
    2. Is there any way to make them migration proof ? for example : my link now points to the DEV environment and in the production, it should point to the PROD.

    Hi,
This question would probably be better addressed in the E-Business Suite forum at https://forums.oracle.com/forums/category.jspa?categoryID=3

We are migrating our Oracle E-business suite from IBM Power 5 AIX 6.1. to OVM Intel (x86_64) bit, we have tested the migration in our test environment. Hi Sharukh,
Virtualization of course the trend in modern era, and I personally advice you to have a thorough testing on performance and specifically simulate workloads and check the behavior. I don't personally go on to support Virtualization on Production environment as it incurs additional cost like CPU usage, memory usage borrowed by other environment being virtualized. And as it does not directly work with the hardware. May be some will be against this point, but I see as if it incurs additional resources. Being said this, I am not completely against Virtualizationas long as it is not a heavy 24/7 environment. I would go on to support the ideology, saying it's best to choose the right technology to right environment.

We have a strange problem.when we open login page for E-business suite and try to log on for the first time we should get the "change password" site. Instead we get "page cannot be displayed". If we open the login page again (without shutting down IE) and log in we get the change password site and can change password for the user. If I close IE and open it again the same thing happend again (if you don't change the password). It is only when you need to change password you get "page cannot be displayed". otherwise everything work ok. it seems like it stopps at the fndvald.jsp file. the address in the IE stopps at http://<server.domain>:8000/OA_HTML/fndvald.jsp
