Login screen problem

Hello, I have a problem with my macbook (lion): my login screen doesn't work well cause I disabled my profile visualization using onyx. Now I can see only the guest user and  I can't enter in my admin profile. How can I riactivate my admin profile?

go to system preferences->accounts, unlock the lock at the bottom and click on login options. select "display login window as list of users".

  • Lion login screen problems on Mid 2009 MacBook Pro

After upgrading my wife's Mid 2009 MacBook Pro from Snow Leopard to Lion we are seeing weird behavior on the login screen after the computer wakes from sleep mode.
The screen is only partially drawn (usually the top left 1/4 of the screen), and the grey background is shown instead of her desktop background picture. When you move the mouse around on the screen, it repaints blocks on the screen where the pointer has been.
This only seems to happen when the machine sleeps for a long period of time, e.g., overnight. When it just sleeps for a little while we don't see the issue.
When searching the forums for anyone else with the problem, several folks said that there was an issue with the video drivers for the 9400M card and recommended switching to the 9600M GT, but her machine only has the 9400M in it.
All other aspects of the system work fine.
Anyone else seeing this? Any clues?

Surprised there hasn't been anyone else experiencing this issue.
    I have seen this on 2 new MBP 2.3mhz i5's with the Intel HD 3000 384mb graphics, Lion 10.7.3 & 10.7.4.
Also with the latest Lion firmware for the late 2011 MBP's that addresses compatibility and stability issues.
Hopefully there is a fix soon because the painting on my locked screen to login is getting annoying

  • Blue Background Login Screen Problem

    Hello everyone,
I tried to change my login screen's background using sudo commands and now it's this light blue and I can't seem to change it no matter what method I try.
This is the method that messed everything up:
    http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20070610164328933
I looked in my computers login plist as well as my CoreServices folder to make sure that the login image is the image I want and they both have the correct folder down. Has anyone had this problem and fixed or helped someone fix this?
This is a purely aesthetic problem but it's really, really getting to me. It's almost to the point where I'm trying to revert to an older time on my computer (Time Machine?).
If someone could please help, it would be greatly appreciated.

I found the solution to this problem on another forum. If anyone finds this, this is what you do:
Delete the com.apple.loginwindow.plist that you can find in the /Library/Preferences folder. After this I recommend using an Application to set your backround (so that you aren't fiddling with things yourself). You can either use Desktop 2 Login or Login Back -- either work. Anyways, I'd back up your plist file before you delete just incase. This worked for me and hopefully it works for you.

  • OSX Yosemite login screen problem.

    Hello,
I've been using a 15" Macbook Pro with Retina Display for almost a year now, and recently got a problem.
The login screen shows some wavy-lines, and they only appear when i start or restart my macbook, and i wonder if it got worse.
If anyone has any fixes, please let me know by replying to this thread.
    Thank you,

I have the same thing when I encounter the login screen. I "think" it's just a blurred image of what will appear as your background image on your desktop after logging in.

  • WRT54GX v2 LOGIN SCREEN PROBLEMS

I am trying to setup my router but when i log onto the main page it only loads a third of the page... just some background and a few text boxes... i can not see any buttons or menu options... i have not done anything with this router as far as upgrading firmware or any other kind of setup before... i bought it back in April or so.
    any help is appreciated
    thanks
    Ian

When I read the problem in this forum I thought "hey" that's exactly what I've got. Only the solution is not so appropriate for me. My login screen will not show in Explorer (V 7.0) or in Firefox/Mozilla (V5.0). It shows exactly what the previous user has described. About one-third of the page, with most of the menu options at the top missing and no "save settings" button at the bottom.
I've tried switching my CA Security Suite firewall off as well as the Windows XP firewall, no luck.
I just need to get to the "change password" screen. Does anyone know what the URL is for this. I've tried login.htm, userid.htm, password.htm etc. Can anyone help? Thanks.

  • Filevault2 login screen problem

Macbook pro recusing my password on the login screen after a system crash. I use filevault2 and efi with password too. None of the passwords are being accepted and the recovery key text field don't let me put numbers. Can anyone please help?

I misunderstood your question. It's not your FileVault password that's the problem, it's the EFI password.

  • Multiple login screen problem

We've got a set of forms that seem to not be able to hold on to the client id generated by WSGSEC.SECURITY_CHECK. Users are getting the login screen at seemingly random times when using the form, for example, when clicking an LOV link, a login screen will pop up, and the user needs to login again before seeing the LOV window. The client_id, username and expires_on values are all getting saved to WSGSEC_SESSIONS, and sessions are being added everytime a user logs in.
Where do the cookies get saved? I suspect not on the client hard drive, because I haven't been able to find them, but cookies are being saved (I changed my browser setting to prompt for cookies and I do get prompted to save cookies while using the form).
    Any insight?
    thanks.

    bump...
More info: This behavior only occurs in Internet Explorer (I'm currently running 6.0.2). Everything is fine in Firefox.
Has this happened to anyone else? Are there any browser settings in IE that stop this? My customers have no control over their programs and can't use anything but IE.
    thanks.

  • Talking Login Screen Problem "you are currently on a scroll area..."

    Hi,
On my login screen the text box shown below appears and the MBA reads aloud the text, eg: " you are currently on a scroll area...".
Its obviously some sort of universal access option, but I cannot see any universal access or text to speech options that are turned on in system prefs and it only happens during the login screen, never on the desktop.
I would be eternally grateful if anyone knows specifically where this can be turned off?

Found it ! Its not an access option after all, Go to...
System Prefs / Users and Groups / Login Options (below the list of users, NOT 'Login Items')
Uncheck 'Use Voiceover in the login window'
    Phew! that was irritating

  • ODM on Win7, login screen problem

Hi, I downloaded ODM from OTN, when I try to run odminerw.exe on my Win7 laptop the screen pops up but without any input objects, just a blank screen. Has anybody experienced something like this, is this a bug? Thanks.

    Hi,
We have not been able to reproduce a problem on WIN 7.
Did you modify the JRE shipped with the ODMr in anyway?
Can you run ODMr so the console is displayed in case any exceptions are being thrown? odminer.exe
Maybe there is some access issue here.
Try deleting the ODMiner folder in your User/AppData.
This will trigger ODMr to recreate the folder.
    Thanks, Mark

  • Frozen Login Screen on MacBook Pro 6,2 (Mid 2010) MacOS X Lion (Hardware or Software related?)

I have found the frozen login screen problem everytime I start my MacBook Pro 6,2 with Lion. I have tried everything from a simple "restore from a time machine back up" to a "clean Lion install" and the problem still appears.
Does anyone know if this problem is software or hardware related?
MacOS X Lion, Macbook Pro 6,2 (Mid 2010)

We just had the same problem with a 2010 MacBook Pro and Lion. The problem was solved by replacing the motherboard (thanks AppleCare...).
    Hope this helps.

  • WiFi problem with iOS 6 and network login screen

Here is a detail problem description:
Equipment: iPad 3 with iOS 6
Environment: corporate network with a login screen that requires login every 24 hours.
What happens: The very first time I tried to login into the network everything worked fine. The login screen showed up (as always did with iOS 5) as expected. But, the login screen does NOT come after 24 hours (when re-login is required), unless I will reboot the iPad (using the 2 buttons), or I will reset the network settings (which again does a reboot). Switching on-off the WiFi, or any other remedy does NOT work.
The problem is not related to the network or the particular iPad or iPhone. All iPads and iPhones with iOS 5.2 or earlier work just fine. Only the ones with iOS 6 have this issue.
I would appreciate any creative idea to resolve the issue. Thank you.

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks  http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304
iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • Yosemite upgrade - problem with login screen

I've upgraded to yosemite yesterday and now I can't login to my user account - I have login screen with Upgrade needed and Guest User. When I click Guest user I have only Safari available.
Macbook Pro, late 2011, Yosemite (10.10)

The same here: at startup my computer shows a gray screen without my usual login pic, and the indication [upgrade needed]. If i go into the process a progress bar shows that something is happening then finally the system does the login and the computer works fine.
If I go back to the login window from Yosemite my usual login window appears properly and i can login and logout as usual.
The problem seems to come out starting up the machine only.

  • Keyboard problem with Mac os 10.7 + FileVault to + login screen

I have a problem with the login screen, the keyboard is recognized as a English keyboard but I have a french keyboard. The menu to change keyboard language is not displayed on login screen since 10.7.2.
During the session the keyboard is French, it's only for the login screen.
How can I fix this and switch my keyboard layout to French in login screen ?
    Thank you.

How did you find out the keyboard layout changed to English? I had a similar problem with my first login after enabling FileVault, and now I think this might be a cause? I have a Spanish keyboard.

  • Keyboard layout problem at the login screen

    Hi there!
I'm having a huge problem at the login screen just after installing OS X Lion 10.7. It seems like the keyboard layout has changed, and I need to enter some numbers in my password. I can't find the digit 9, and I really don't know if the other numbers are in the right place either. Maybe it's changed to a us layout.. What to do?

    stoneheart,
the numbers are in the same position on a US English keyboard as they are on a Norwegian keyboard.
If you select the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences, and select its Login Options, do you have the “Show Input menu in login window” checkbox checked? (That’s where the checkbox’s location is in Mavericks; I don’t have Lion, so I don’t know if it’s in the same location there.)

I have the exact same problem.
my system hangs after solaris wants to start the "desktop login screen".
during the installation i had a problem that X or something couldnt start either. i had to use the console based installation (number 4.), with the standard interactive installation my system would hang after "discovering additional network devices".
i can use the failsafe option. i guess its something with X and my network card?
