Login screen suddenly appears

Hi.
Users are complaining that EBS login screen jsut suddenly appears while they are working and they have to logon again.
Is this a profile issue? A timeout issue? Can I create any extra logging to see what is happening?
Many thanks, as always.
DA.

Dan,
Users are complaining that EBS login screen jsut suddenly appears while they are working and they have to logon again. What is the application release?
Is this happening to all users or certain ones only?
Can you find any errors in Apache log files as well as the database log file?
Is this a profile issue? A timeout issue? Can I create any extra logging to see what is happening?Have you changed any profile option value recently?

Apple Logo Screen (turn on screen) suddenly appear when using my iPad Mini Retina, but every thing goes back to normal after. It happens like few times since I bought my iPad since December. My OS is ISO7.0.4

Eveytime it re-boot, take note of what app you are running. You need to find out what is causing the re-boot.

  • Oracle Forms 11g Login Screen Not Appearing

1 PC running RHEL5 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 5) Operating System 32-bit with Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g (64-bit), plus Oracle WebLogic Server 32-bit
1 PC windows (work PC) is the client so just using any browser to connect to the application
Trying to run a sample form, and have all processes started (nodemanager, weblogic, opmn, emagent, emctl), database listener, database started up, but when the Oracle Forms Services splash screen display comes up, it just hangs and the default Oracle login screen does not appear. I'm at a loss. I moved my 3 pcs thus got new IP addresses via the DHCP network. Setup the TNSNAMES.ORA with the IP address of the db machine in the file of the webserver machine. Can connect directly on the machine, can connect via TOAD, SQL+ but not when launching a form. Any clues?

  • HT3867 I am connected to the hotel wifi network, but the login screen does not appear.

    Hi,
I am connected to my hotel wifi network, but the login screen does not appear. I am able to access the login page on my PC, but on the iPhone it does not appear and just tries to connect to the webpage (e.g. google.co.uk), and eventually gives up. I've tried opening pages in Safari and Chrome, but none cause the login screen to appear. I have also tried trying to log into the login page that the PC opens when connected to the wifi, but the same thing happens. I am using a iPhone 3G with the latest iOS version 6.0.1.
Is there a way to make the iPhone try to open the login page?
    Ben.

I have the exact same problem as the original poster and I tried many times already the solution proposed by trstark66 and it's still not working. It's not working for both my iPad and iPhone 5. I'm using the latest iOS version available all the time. I have my iPad since 3 years and my iPhone since 1 years and I always had that problem. I'm an airline pilot so I'm always in hotels. I asked my colleagues who also have iPhones and iPads and they all have the same problems from time to time. And when I go in an apple store they all say that it's the first time they hear about that problem. I never have that problem with my PCs, my previous phone and my BB playbook. Only with my iPhone and iPad....since now 3 years...Always the same problem. I'm connected to the Hotel Network, I have an IP address but nothing popup to register with a user name, password or just to access the "I have read and accept the condition.../connect". And when I go in Safari or other Browsers, I am not redirected to a login page. All I have is a message saying cannot access the webpage because I'm not connected to Internet. I tried already hard resets, on/off Wi-Fi, automatic connexion off, forget this network, reset network setting...
My solution for now is to use my Boingo account. I connect to the hotel Network and then I use the Boingo app to connect to Internet.
But, sometimes it works the first time or suddenly for no reason.
Very funny, I was using Boingo on my ipad to write this message in my Hotel room because I was unable to use my free connection as usual. When I tried to press "Add Reply" it failed and I had the message "An error occured while trying to submit your post, please try again". The reason was that boingo was disconnected since I was taking too long to write this message. So I wasn't connected to Internet anymore. I opened a second tab in Safari and what did I see!... the login page to access the free connection from the hotel. This is crazy. Apple, you really suck with hotel/coffee hotspots... I tried for hours and nothing, now hours later I just open a new tab and it works. But tomorrow I know I will try the same and it will not work again. It shouldn't be that complicated.

  • Imac 2008 Snow Leopard installed, Wont go past the login screen

    Hello Everyone,
I am new to this so please bear with me.
I had been using my Imac lately just to run the sims 3 with extension packs which I played for about 10 minutes.
Today we had our internet connected as we have moved to a new house.
The Internet service provider has said the connection should be up and running today.
I went onto safari and checked two or three emails after that my mouse and keyboard could not do anything.
No force quit, No command based force quit, no relaunching of the finder, no being able to restart or shut it down at all.
I remember an echo back up mac thingy jumping up and down too in the dock if that helps
So I turned it off using the back button and left it off for 5 minutes. The mouse and Keyboard are wireless and run fine at the moment, no flat battery.
    First attempt
The screen turned on right up until the galaxy looking screen before te login box, the login box did not appear. There was no other way to turn it off other than from the back again.
    Second attempt
I had left it off for another 5 minutes and turned it back on again, The login screen has appeared, I can type in the password,
but this time when I pushed enter, the rainbow wheel appears and has stayed on there for the past half an hour.
    Third attempt
I will switch off the modem, leave the computer off for another 5 minutes and then try anf log back in. Since I will be disconnected to the internet I will update you with the progress and whether this has worked or not.
This begun to happen as soon as I entered the password for the internet connection. This macbook (late 2008 not pro) detected the connection from the imac (another computer is trying to access your internet connection-sort of thing) and I pressed ok on the macbook. The model of the modem router is D-Link Wireless N300 ADSL2 Modem router if that helps.
The mac desktop has had an install of snow leopard (so I can not do a restall/reinstall thingy of the current operating system) and all I can find at the moment is the original disks from the box. The mac was originally on 10.5.8.
Please help me to fnd a way in which I can get back into my computer this would be much appreciated.
I am not familliar with any technical terms so please keep it simple as I am a noob :3

    Third attempt
I will switch off the modem, leave the computer off for another 5 minutes and then try anf log back in. Since I will be disconnected to the internet I will update you with the progress and whether this has worked or not.
    Update:
This time I switched the computer off from the back as there seemed to be no progress made from the rainbow spinning wheel.
I left it for 5 minutes (the computer) switched off the jack and pulled the plug out.
I turned off the modem for 5 minutes.
I turned on the computer without turning on the modem and was able to log in.
I managed to get into the computer and am currently trying out safari to see if the same problem occurs.
5 minutes into hotmail, trade sites and you tube it seems to be going OK.
I guess the computer paicked abit from the new connection perhaps.

  • Pixilated login screen

    MACPRO  Dec 2006
    Lion OSX 10.7.5
    4GB RAM
    2x3GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
    NVIDIA GeForce 7300GT (256)
May wife has been using my old machine for a year now w/ no problems. Now the login screen & pointer appear pixilated - sometimes so badly that she can't login; sometimes login is possible but screen pixilates as soon as she clicks on anything.
I ran Onyx & zapped PRAM.
    I tried another monitor.
I tried the 2nd monitor port.
I removed & resat the video card.
    I replaced the battery.
    Nothing helped.
I then connected to the network via ethernet cable & reinstalled OSX Lion from the Recovery Disc & updated it.
At this point the problem continued on the login screen & in her account, but when I log into the Admin account everything works fine (which I had overlooked trying earlier).
I had the thought that her acct might be corrupted, but the problem starts on the login screen.
Should I go through the trouble of creating a new account, transferring all go her files & then deleting her old acct?
OR should I just give up bring it to a Mac shop?
    Thanks,
    Carmen

It's taken a couple of weeks of progressively getting worse, but It's now affecting the Admin acct also.
Is it most likely the NVIDIA GeForce 7300GT?

  • Blank WiFi login screen at various public hotspots

Whenever I'm at a public hotspot that requires a login (like, say, a Panera Bread), my iPhone detects the network, then pops up a Login screen. The problem is, that screen remains blank -- I never get as far as being able to actually log in.
I've tried resetting my network settings, resetting my phone, etc. -- no soap.
A possible clue: The *one* time it seemed to work was when there was no available cellular connection. Then the Wi-Fi login screen actually appeared. But when the cellular connection was recovered, I again found myself unable to connect to that Wi-Fi network.
    Help!
    TIA...

OK, I believe I may have solved this
When you can't log into public WiFi ...
    with an iDevice running iOS7…
because the Server times out ...
or the login/registration page just won't load ...
      ********Simply do this***********
Go into settings> WiFi and tap the little info icon for the network you are trying to join
If you see two slider buttons, these are the cause of your woes
One says "Auto Join" (or similar) - you can leave this ON
The second button is "Auto Login" - you must turn this OFF (slide it left so it is grey not green)
Now go back and reselect the network.
If the login page doesn't come up automatically, open a Safari window and enter any address
    Bingo!
I have reproduced this issue and solution in 100% of the public WiFi spots which I could previously not access. Please not that I also have "Block Pop-Ups" turned OFF in Settings> Safari, though I do not know if this is a necessary step.
I have filed a bug report with Apple. Feel free to contact them yourselves if this workaround works for you.
Also, please mark this as "Solved" if it works for you so that others will know how to connect to public WiFi.
    Peace y'all

  • Help! Can't get past login screen!

My G3 desktop running OS X 10.2.8 has been acting odd for about a week - it's not listening to me! Netscape has been quitting on me arbitrarily [I use that mainly for it's mail function since my Eudora blew away on me a while back] and it just has not been responsive as usual. This morning I started it and signed in on the login screen; it appeared to be thinking, went blue and returned to the login screen. I was able to boot from the Install CD and ran the Disk Utility Repair for both the passwords and disk. Everything was okay. When the Install disk first opened [after the language choice] it told me I could not install on this computer - I know this is not good. I was able to start on OS 9 since that is not password protected. I'd like to have OS X not be password protected, also, but I can't get anywhere to choose that option!
I am able to access the files from another computer in the house - is there any way to get into the system preferences on the G3 from this other computer?
Any simple solutions? Even a complicated one would help. Thanks.

Reset the router for 30 secs. Keep holding the reset button for 30 secs when the router is powerred ON. Then power off the router and modem. Make sure the cable from modem is connected to Internet Port of the router. Power ON the modem first, wait for 30 secs, than the router. Connect the computer to any port [1, 2, 3 or 4]. Try  to access Internet. If fails, Open Internet Explorer, try the No. 192.168.1.1 password is admin. In the setup page, under Setup tab, click mac address clone.
Click Clone there. Save Settings and follow the process again [Turning OFF modem and router and Turning ON with the sequence].
    Should help.

  • Enable "tap as click" at login screen

    hi all,
i've migrated all my stuff from my MB and now i can't use "tab as click" at the login screen.
i've tried to get rid of the login screen by deleting all accounts and then recreated the accounts again. but still, i can't get to use "tap as click" at login.
    your help is appreciated.

What you're seeing is normal - at the login window, OS X always uses the default input preferences. The account profile with your custom preferences only loads after login.
If you don't want the login screen to appear, go to System Preferences > Accounts > Login Options and enable "Automatically login as: (Username)".

  • Gdm - Old Login Screen

Ever since upgrading to Gnome 3.2 I can't get the new login screen to appear on startup (I get the old one). After logging out I do, however, get the new login screen. How do I fix this?

I have this behavior too. I believe it's some kind of timing issue, e.g if one of services starting before gdm takes more time then usual, the gdm shows in old version. So it might as well depend on your particular daemons configuration and not necessarily will be fixed upstream. Anyway in 19 out of 20 boots I have the new login screen so I didn't really investigate this.
At work I have another computer, with Fedora 16 also running latest gnome 3.2, and I haven' seen such a problem there.

  • User updated to WinXP SP3 and now it does not show login screen

    Hi,
I have a user that updated to Windows XP3, that Install and shutdown option, but the user closed the notebook.
Now Windows XP boots but after showing the mouse and the blue wallpaper, the login screen never appears and windows stops there.
The mouse pointer is from windows and it is moving, the hard disk shows no activity, no funny noise, etc.
I think it was a problem with the update. I even have done a Install in place of windows xp sp2 and nothing.
Could it be hardware? Or just windows?
    Many thanks
    Oliver

Dude! Why did you unistall IE7? I don't know that I've ever heard that being a problem in all the few thousand posts I've read.
My recommendation at his point is to boot in the safe mode and do a restore to a time when you didn't have any problems.
It's going to take some good decisions at this point. Let us know how it goes.

All of a sudden - like since I upgraded to iCloud - my login screen displays "Guest User". I have Guest disabled in Accounts. The only account I have active is mine. I don't want Guest to appear on the login screen. How do i stop it from doing so?

Even when the Guest Account / Access is disabled, the login option / and lock screen, still have a guest login.
This is because in Preferences/ Security & Privacy/General the bottom item is turned on.

  • "Other-" appearing on login screen

    Hi
I've got a MacBook Pro mid 2012 running OS X 10.8.5. I was running some commands about the root user on Terminal and suddenly I changed the password of the root user using these commands:
    sudo su
    Password:*******
    passwd
& now I see another thing on the login screen named "Other..." which is the root user(Admin) . And its password is the password that I changed using Terminal.(It is the login part for the root user)
I want to get rid of that, is it possible?
I just wanted to remove it using system preferences but it doesn't appear on that part(Users & groups)!
I think it would be possible to delete it using the Terminal.
