Login to Admin console
Hi I am working my way through Java Quick Start - starting the "server and node agent".
Not got far have I?
Log in to admin console - I do this with name and password I entered (annotated screen shots taken at the time to help)
the Admin console appears, but whatever button I click in right hand pane in particular "Search Log Files" all I get is back to the login screen. I cannot even view the quick start guide from here!
What am I doing wrong?
I can do some programming OK using text files and command window, I just want to look further now.
Problem is I installed the stuff in March and only now getting chance to spend time studying the applications.
DId you try restarting just the Unix auth helper (doUnix) process instead of the whole ipsserver?
Sometimes even if the process is running it has a problem.

Can't login to Admin Console after period not using
Hi,
We have portal 3.0P4 on Solaris 8 (gateway and server seperate systems) and have always the same problem.
After a time, not using the admin console, we're not allowed to login anymore.
We get the following message: Your Admininstration Console login session has timed out.
The auth log says: Login Failed Unix initialization LoginExceptionI/O exception trying to
connect to Unix service UserDomain /<domeinname>
Only after restarting the portal, it works fine again. This is not a solution with a production system!
Can someone help ...
Thanks in advance.

Problem in login to admin console.
Hi , from the Application Servers node in JDeveloper11g I created a new connection to the WebLogic server that comes with the IDE , I configured it and gave a username and password , However , when I try to login from the admin console its says Authentication denied.
Any ideas?
Thanks.Dear All
I have latest JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 installed. I created some simple projects in JDeveloper. NOW coming to the default IntegratedWeblogicServer that comes with the JDeveloper, I guesss you are able to start it. BUT not able to access the console because of wrong username/password.
Try this username/password: weblogic/weblogic1. I tried the same and I could access the console at port 7101: http://localhost:7101/console.
Additional Information. On Windows OS, the location of this default Integrated Weblogic Domain on my machine is at following location. If you are familiar with some basics of WLS domain, then under this domain/config/config.xml file will have details of the Ports it is running on and the servers it has and the apps deployed by default etc etc.
C:\Documents and Settings\rjegga\Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.2.36.55.36\DefaultDomain
So when you configure a new connection in JDeveloper for this Integrated Weblogic Server, make sure you give the port as 7101, host as localhost and the username as "weblogic" and password as "weblogic1". The Domain name is "DefaultDomain" and Server name is "DefaultServer". The servers are located at the above domain root folder/servers sub folder.
I tested with weblogic/weblogic1 and I could access the console.
Thanks

Why can't weblogic login discussion admin console?
I create webcenter domain and startup successfully. I wanna change some jive properties at jive console(http://host:port/owc_discussions/admin), but i can't login. I can login in ( http://host:port/owc_discussions ). Why?
Any comments are welcome! The jive tables created by RCU can't be reused by webcenter domain.

Login Failed Unix initialization LoginExceptionI/O exception trying to connect to Unix service
It looks like portal is not able to reach the doUnix process. Do the following
# ps -ef | grep doUnix
now check to see if the process below is running
root 9718 1 0 Dec 12 ? 0:00 /install_dir/SUNWips/bin/doUnix -c 8946
if not do a restart of portal and check to see if that process is running you would need that process for unix authentication to complete .. -

Can not login the WebCenter Discussions Admin console
Hi
I have installed the oracle web center 11.1.1.2 and 11.1.1.3 patch and have the weblgic admin/wls_services server running successfully. after create two new users in the embed weblogic i can login the webcenter discussion. The two test users can post a announcement but have no right to create a new forum and post new thread. So i want to login the ADMIN console by host:port/owc_discussions/admin but denied, including the weblogic default admin user(weblogic/weblogic1). in the webcenter administation guide, it says:
"By default, Oracle WebCenter Discussions is configured to use the embedded LDAP identity store: all users in the embedded LDAP store can log on to the discussions server, and all users in the Administrators group have administrative privileges on Oracle WebCenter Discussions." in 12.2.2 Discussions Server - Security Considerations
also tried to change the configuration file for Jive(jive_startup.xml), setting the setup element to false which mentioned in another threads in this forum and still not work.
Currently all i want to do is login the discussion as admin and create a forum, say 'Generic' and register the connection in Jdevoper and create a custom app for posting new thread.
Hope someone can help.I have resolved this issue by re-build the installation

Sun Oner Application Server 7 Admin Console doesn't start
When I start the Admin Console for Sun One Application Server 7, and after I login, the admin console doesn't display in the browser. I have tried starting the admin console with IE and Netscape browser, but the admin console has failed to start in either IE or netscape.
-Type this in your IE
http://localhost:4848
-IF it does not work type the following
http://kishan:4848 ("kishan" is your machine name)
-IF it does not work do the following
Forgot the Admin Server Port Number? If you do not remember the HTTP server port number of the administrative server, you can inspect the administrative server's configuration file to determine the HTTP server port number.
1. Navigate to the <domain_config_dir>/domain1/admin-server/config/ directory.
2. Open the server.xml file in your favorite editor. Look for the element:
<http-listener id="http-listener-1" address="0.0.0.0" port="4848"...
In this case, port 4848 is the HTTP port number in use.
Forgot the Username or Password? If you do not remember the administrative user name that was supplied during installation, try the user name "admin". This is the default user name specified in the server configuration dialog during installation. If you still cannot determine the user name, look in the following file:
<domain_config_dir>/domain1/admin-server/config/admpw
This file contains the administrator's user name followed by the encrypted form of the administrative user's password.
If you do not remember the administrator's password, then you can delete the administrative domain using the delete-domain subcommand of asadmin and create a new domain with a new administrative password.
Port Not Accessible? If the connection was refused when attempting to contact the administrative server's admin console application, it is likely that the administrative server is not running. Go back to the beginning of this section and double check the your startup procedures and the content of the administrative server's log file to determine the reason why the server is not running. -
Weblogic 12c Admin Console Extremely Slow Response in "Servers" only
Hi,
I have downloaded and installed weblogic 12c today on IBM p702 blade centre running AIX 7.1 & IBM Java 7. Everything is working fine; Admin Server, Node Manager, etc.
I am facing a strange kind of problem and need your kind suggestions.
When i login to Admin Console 12c and i click on the "servers" link under the domain -> environment; the server response is extremely slow. However, the rest is fine. There is no application deployed and no warning + exception/error is in logs (node manager, admin server out etc.)
Please advice!
Good Day.

Edited by: user1659354 on 11-Jan-2013 03:07This happens when node managers are not running (or not reachable), as it tries to obtain the status of the servers that are deployed on different machines.
What you can check is; are the node managers running on the machines you have configured (in the admin console, click environment, machines, your_machine, monitoring) -
Default Administrator Username & Password for Weblogic Server Admin Console
I created a new domain using the configuration wizard on windows (using config.cmd).
While configuring the domain, I didnt check any of the check boxes for configuring Admin Server, Managed servers, clusters...
Just gave the domain name and location of the domain home and clicked on create domain.
So automatically AdminServer is created and domain was created successfully.
After the domain is created, I started the Admin Server from the same configuration Wizard and clicked on Done.
Now the Admin Server is started successfully. But I dont know the Administrator username and password as I didnt configure it while creating the domain.
So how to login to Admin Console? What will be the default Administrator Username and Password to log into Admin Console?Got the answer.
I tried with weblogic/weblogic9 and it worked.
I m able to login to Admin Console. So this should be the default Username and Password.
Please let me know your thoughts. -
Login-Problem Administration Console
Hi
I've installed OIM 9.1 on BEA WebLogic 8.1 SP6 on a linux OS.
If I start OIM I can launch the OIM Administration/User Console Login Site. But I'm not able to login.
If I try to login, there is no error message on the site. It only clears the password field. That's all.
However on the weblogic console I get the following error:

Edited by: user10624908 on Dec 19, 2008 2:55 AMJust give a try logging into admin console using the password for the user where your DB OIM instance is running.
Suppose if your OIM is running on DB Instance IDM and userid is user1 with the password abcd1234. give this password to login to admin console.
I faced the same issue in Solaris env with same versions of OIM and weblogic you are using. I tried logging with that DB password, it worked.
In worst scenarios it works... -
Sun AS 9.1 UR2 Admin console doesn't ask for login name and password
I have an instance of Sun AS 9.1 installed on Linux, that has broken admin console. The console never asks for login and password, just lets the user to do anything.
I didn't set it up and I've never seen that. There's Policy Agent installed because of some apps and maybe this is causing the problem. But I don't know. I just need to secure the console (anyhow).
Any ideas what could happen? Any hints where to look, what libs could be overwritten by bad version or something? This is probably the only thread that relates to the problem i am facing.
I have encountered the same issue whereby the user ID shows up empty.
Accessing the console without having the need to enter credentials is causing me some serious security issues.
Martin777, have you found any ways to secure your console?
Thanks.
