hi,
I am having trouble with the loging onto citrix xp server with safari and have down loaded the latest version citrix macintel client . I can login to my work site but can't use any of the application as i get a error archive required to make an ssl connection not available please contact your metaframe administrator.
is anyone having trouble with loging on with citrix with safari.

If you are connecting with Safari, the Citrix server MUST have its configuration changed to allow SSL connections via the Java client (since Safari uses the Java client starting somewhere around 10.3.7). See this link for instructions on how to enable SSL over Java on the server.
Either way, there's nothing you can do on your end other than to ditch Safari and use FireFox. Your Citrix/IT admins need to do the work

Performing E2ETrace Analysis unuseable in Citrix-Server-Environment?

Since SAP CLient Plug-In 1.11 for E2E Trace Analysis, we get the error "ERROR: Found running application instance(s): please close the open application instance" if IE8 sessions are startet before launching the plugin.
so, executing the E2E -Trace analysis on CITRIX-Server with the Plugin seems to be unusable, because a lot of user might logged into CITRIX Server and performing IE8-Sessions?
are there any suggestions?

You have to stop existing IE-Sessions. also in Citrix-environment.
so you can not use it in Citrix Environment where a lot of user are performing IE-Sessions.

VFP application in Citrix server

Hi,
I have a vfp application and it is using Microsoft Outlook to send emails. If we access the application via Citrix server, which Outlook application is it using? i.e. Outlook installed in the Citrix server or Outlook installed in the clients computer?
As I know it should use Outlook installed in Citrix server. Please confirm this. Thanks.

The best bet is to make a small test exe with just that CREATEOBJECT() call and see what is instanciated. Setup a client without outlook and run it on citrix server with outlook and you'll see.

Citrix Server works just like any other virtual or real machine you connect to via remote desktop.
The apps running there will OLE automate the ole servers there, so eg Outlook has to be installed in that virtual windows alongside your vfp app and vfp will use that server side outlook.
Your program does not automate the client, it's only visualized on it via a citrix client side software used to connect to citrix server and display it.
There is a slight chance such virtualisation software enhances and incorporates more from the client, eg one technology having spread among virtualisation solutions is seamless integration of the remote application windows, so it seems like the remote apps
run local. The display is accelerated in not sending the graphics to clients but GDI+ or DirectX 2D commands, which can be executed by client graphics hardware.
And it is just a small step to forward any ole server instanciateions like CREATEOBJECT("Outlook.Application") to be executed at the client.
So finally as first said, make a small test EXE and you know for sure what happens.

Does the Citrix ICA client work with Safari for Windows XP?

I really like safari for XP so far. However, I use the Citrix ICA client software to remotely access programs from a server at work. I tried following instructions on the Citrix knowledge base site for installing the client for Firefox, etc. since they did not have any info on Safari for windows. Please help, or I will be stuck using Explorer. Thanks.

The Citrix ICA client doesn't work with Safari on a Mac. Given the number of bugs and other problems with the Safari 3 Beta for Windows, I'd guess that the chances of Citrix working with this release are slim to none. However, the Citrix ICA client works well with Firefox 2.0, in case you're interested in trying it.

Problem with exporting a report to excel vial citrix server

Hi,
We are encountering a problem with exporting a report to excel through ALV local file icon.A spread sheet is downloading only one row (From header) instead of many rows from the ALV output .
Above is working fine for the GUI installed on my PC, but not throgh the Citrix server.
Can any body have idea on above mentined?

I understand that you're trying to download the file to a local computer through Citrix. In this case you need autorizations in Citrix for your user ( CItrix user)

Issues with Adobe reader x not working as regular users on a citrix server

Have 1 citrix server. Adobe reader x installed. Some users are able to open adobe reader, When I add the users who can not open adobe reader to administrators group. they still can not open adobe. While in their session if i do a run as . I run it as the domain admin, then adobe reader opens up.
This makes no sense, any help would be appreciated.

You should ask in the Reader forum. Normally, the product would be installed on the local machine. If you were talking about Acrobat, then the server use is a violation of the EULA, but it is probably just a networking issue with Reader.

Help with PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (50) BSOD on 2003 Citrix Server

I have three servers in a Citrix Farm, one of the servers BSOD's once or twice a week with the error PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (50). When I analyze the dump file it always shows the faulting drive is lcencm.sys. This is Sophos Lan Crypt, which
we have to use for encrypted images. The same version is installed on two other citrix servers with no problems, so I am unsure what is the actual cause. There is definitely a memory leak on the server, but I haven't been able to determine what
it actually is. I have tried updating Lan Crypt with the newest patch, uninstalling/reinstalling Lan Crypt, ran memtest, sfc, chkdsk, etc. and I'm about to loose my mind. Here is the dump log, I'm not sure where to upload it:

Antivirus software can also trigger this error, as can a corrupted NTFS volume.

My JasperReports Server - Pro is compatible with safari 4.0 browser and safari 5.0 browser but i want to make it compatible with safari 5.1.7 browser My jasperserver is having a proxy address like "abc.com" instead of localhost:8080/jasperserver-pro/login.html.
The problem is, Unable to login through Safari 5.1.7 browser, I guess facing a redirection problem. But i am able to log in with my actual address (localhost).
The above problem is only with safari 5.1.7 and is working perfectly with firefox, chrome, IE and safari 4.0 and safari 5.0.
I am sorry if this is not the right place to discuss the above issue.

Thanks for tip. I tried it but unfortunately it still needs 7.08 to work and I'm not sure why. Even worse is the automatic updater that runs just downloads 7.0. So a user downloads the update, then gets another error message saying they need an even newer version of reader. Very lame.
Plus, once you do get the 7.08 update and open the file you get no less than three pop ups about not saving the file, auto fill options, and one other I forget. Overall a very awkward way to view a very simple file.
I was hoping this would make it easier for customers to fill out a form but it looks like it will accomplish the opposite.

Hi macusers,
I saw that error on multiple threads but I found none related to my issue. So, before ignore it let's describe it:
Two MAC Mini: one early 2009 and second late 2010. Both OS 10.9.1, MacKeeper installed, 6+Gb for RAM. Both uses the same router to connect the internet. Both are LAN connected not WiFi. I even changed the DNS addresses on router using Google DNS.
On Mac 2009:
1. Safari opens pages randomly. Sometimes a website is not open but when I create a new tab and select the website from bookmarks the website is opened while in previous tab still says: Safari cannot find the server .... All those websites are used in my daily work. I am not reseting Safari unless necesary.
2. MAIL is showing online only Gmail acccount from 4 accounts. The rest of the accounts are not Gmail and appear as Offline. I restart MAIL and they appear online. I have to do that Open/Close MAIL several times a day.
3. Sharefile and oDesk Team application cannot be opened because of that error: A server with the same hostname could not be found!
4. Apple Store is displaying questions marks instead of the icons and I can barely see what softwares I have installed.
Now the beauty. Only on MAC 2009 I am experiencing those issues. The other MAC is fine. So far.
What I tried so far:
A. Reboot in SafeMode and Repair Permissions, Repair Disk. Everything OK.
B. PRAM Reset and SMC Reset.
C. Scan for viruses. No virus detected.
oDesk Team app is working fine on the other MAC and I managed to install it on Mac 2009 on Windows 7 partition as well. Is working fine.
Here are some screenshots showing you some of the errors I am picking on my side.
That one is taken while trying to connect to ShareFile. After three or four attempts it finally managed to connect.
That was a beauty. While MacKeeper was showing me that I am Offline, I was talking on Skype with a friend.
Still cannot access oDesk Team application. However, after several attempts it is logging but what is showing me is a real nightmare.
If I choose to see my contracts (though in the upper corner there is not my account) they do appear:

P.S. I just remembered that I saw on a post in here related to the same error that someone from Apple asked a guy to make a test in terminal using a command line. I do it on my MAC and here is the result:

Here is what I did and so far seems it is wworking.
1. I deleted oDesk and ShareFile. I removed them using MacKeeper (I found this application very usefull for uninstalling applications as MacKeeper looks for them all over the computer: cache, preferences, application support etc.) While for oDesk is simple as I can look myself for oDesk in any file names, whith ShareFile was a little tricky to amke it amnually as MacKeeper find files that contain Citrix name then ShareFile. I will not guess unless I would search the internet on how to manually remove sharefile from my system.
2. I manually delete all cahe files and folders from ~Library and ~User/Library.
3. After reboot I installed Onyx and order maintanance where I checked all its options, including but not limited to DNS caches, fonts caches, everything.
4. After I reboot computer, I went in Disk Utility and Repaired permissions.
Reboot again. Now seems to work fine. At least odesk Team is working properly. I will have a second thought for installing ShareFile.
Some romanian mac users suggested to check my router connectivity and change some DNS in it. Looks like that was also a problem on some MACs. I recall the few weeks ago I had an issue with TP Link router. My computer wasn't connected to internet, though router showed that there is internet connection. I ping router from my computer and I received answer from ping. I ping google from computer, nothing. I ping google from router, was wroking. I connected the computer directly to internet without router, was wroking. When connected back through router, nothing. I contacted the guys from TP Link and they suggested to use google DNS instead of those my ISP provided. But since then I had not experienced any issue with router and internet, until now. The DNS are still those from google.
I will keep you updated if any issues are appear again. So far, it is working perfectly as it supposed to work.

Very poor implementation of XMLHttpRequest streaming with Safari for Window

I hope this post reaches Apple engineers. This is critical for us to resolve this. I am a member of the developer network, so if using incident support is necessary, it can be used. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. I have implemented a test to compare XMLHttpRequest streaming performance for different browsers. Safari for Windows 5.0.3 had the worst results compared to Chrome and Firefox. Furthermore, I think this problem was introduced after Safari 3. The test consists of a server pushing messages of about 350 bytes to the browser at a rate of about 300/s. Once server pushes 10,000 messages, it closes the connection and browser opens new one repeating the cycle. There were several problems associated with Safari: 1) Safari could not process much more then 300 messages/s, that is quite low. Chrome had no problem processing 1,000. If, for example, 500 m/s was used, Safari would quickly allocate hundreds of meg of memory and crash. 2) Safari starts with about 64MEG of memory allocated. Once the test page is opened, memory quickly climes to 150MEG and as test progresses to >400MEG. Once the connection closes, it drops to 150MEG again. Chrome's memory did not fluctuate at all staying at 32MEG for the same test. 3) CPU was steadily claiming as test progressed and then dropped as connection was reset, creating CPU spikes. It reached about 50% CPU before connection was closed. Chrome's CPU stayed at about 2% all the time. This is the code: Server. Should be run with the latest Java Tomcat 7. Problems with Safari and Firefox (HTTP?)
On a laptop G4, 10.5.8 and Safari 5.02 I experience the following:
On the account of my oldest daughter everything works fine, i.e. wireless internet works and no problems with mail or safari.
On the same laptop, on the account of my other daughter, the wireless is OK, she can mail etc. But safari nor firefox works. It says: can’t find server (whatever site) and in the activity window it looks if safari tries to open files (in the safari preferences-folder) in stead of http. Same applies to Firefox, so maybe it has more to do with HTTP in general?
What goes wrong? What to do? I tried the following on the host terminal (tips from Apple)
defaults write com.apple.safari WebKitDNSPrefetchingEnabled -boolean false
and
defaults delete com.apple.safari WebKitDNSPrefetchingEnabled
but that did not help,

I'm still wondering why it happens now at this moment in time...
PC does seem to be a bit odd & inconsistent, the few times I've tested with it, at least so far as we content filtering goes; and if I remember rightly, you're not the first to report previously ok settings suddenly preventing some or all internet until pc is switched off altogether.
It may work when re-enabled
