Logistics Execution Question

Hi GURUS!!.. Urgent
We are currently in the Blueprinting phase and the major factor is that the client needs to know if "vanilla SAP 6.0" could solve these problems or do we need SAP APO for the same.
If not both, then is there specific "add on" for these functionality.
1. How does transportation planning for pool distribution work in SAP.
2. Can cost comparisons  for different  carriers be done in SNTP? (Supply Network Transportation Planning)
3. How can Rate shopping for carriers be done in SAP?
4. Freight Claim process in SAP?
5. Also, can rate shopping for carriers be done at the Sales Order level? (i.e. if there is a need for the CSR to give options to the customer about the different freights available and their costs?
An urgent reply in these areas would be highly appreciated.

Hi,
Without being able to look at your requirements in detail, it does sound like you do need APO, because most of what you are asking for is NOT within standard SAP R/3.
I am not even sure if APO functiinality is "rich" enough to fulfil your requirements but LE certainly isn't.
So I would start carrying out some "gap analysis" on this straight away and get an APO consultant to give you the options.;

  • Publish All Templates of Logistice Execution  to ITS

    Hi,
I want to publish all templates of Logistics Execution to ITS, my question is, which templates or services are related to Logistics Execution? Kindly please advise.
    Thanks a lot.

We had a very similar issue. We found the reason to be that the user node was being reversed replicated before the profile node was created and profile properties saved. Our solution was to add a property to the user node (e.g. useraction=created) which we added after the user and profile node has been created successfully. Then using a workflow launcher we look for the property being set using the Condition (useraction=created) and a Event Type of Modified, triggering the reverse replication workflow that way.

  • Can I register operation breakes in Logistics execution module of SAP

    Good Morning,
We are making a SAP implementation in our company, there is a logistics operation covering on this implementation and so far we have not found how to record this breakes in the logistics operation in logistics execution module, we need to record a reason for the break, the beginning date-time and the end date-time and have a text field for further information.
As an operation break i mean any topic that stops the logistic operation of the company it could be rain, damage of equipment, accident or any other.
We've been searching and we've found something in the maintenance module and the production module but we need it in the logistics execution one.
Thanks a lot for any answer that can help us.
    Luis.

    Hi
In the definition of routes and stages (tcode 0VTC) you can set the transit duration in days for each route.
    I hope this helps you

  • What are the functionalities provided by SAP ECC 6.0 (Logistics Execution) for inward and outward transportation?

The Transportation Module provides a very detailed functionality to capture & control the transportation both inward and outward. However there is a set of transaction codes in SAP ECC 6.0 which may provide some functionality on transportation.
Can Logistics Execution provide some basic control in the absence of Transportation Module? Also what are the advantages Transportation Management module provides over Logistics Execution in SAP ECC 6.0?

    Hello Prasad,
For ESS and MSS you do not require special data from the backend side, If a person has master data maintained in PA30, He can see his personal details in ESS, For that employee should maintain the Portal user id in Infotype 0105 , subtyp0001.
With that userid he can able to enter the portal and maintain his details. Same is the case for MSS , Manager should have maintained 0105 subtype 0001. and he can see the details of his employees in MSS application.
For ESS you need to have Portal
    SAP_ESS
    PCUI_GP
    BP for ESS
You can check the following link :

All the above mentioned package should be deployed on Eneterprise Portal.

  • Transportation Planning in Logistics Execution

    Hi Friends,
As of now in our company we aren't using transportation planning in Logistics Execution for shipments from mother go-down to Depot (33 in Number) and also from factory to Depot.
How to dynamically update the Transti time and transit route in SAP R/3 ECC 5.?
I have defined OVTB,OVTA,OVTD,OVTC in define routes and also OVR1,OVSY etc in route determination in master data.
How to use those information to get update for tranit time dynamically?
I'm ready to give more info on this. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Arasu

Transit time is pre-defined in the route. Based on your route determination (essentially, departure and receiving zones), the pertinent route is selected that invokes the calculation of the dates including the planned GI and delivery date. So, essentially, the transit time is pre-defined so to calculate these dates.
Not sure what you mean by 'dynamic' calculation of the transit time as oppose to manually entering the time during route creation.

  • Diff between Logistics Execution and General

    Hi ,
Can anybody tell me what is the basic difference between Logistics Execution and Logistics General
    Thanks
    Bharath

    Logistics Execution
The entire delivery chain functions in this module.
Both outbound and inbound deliveries, stock transfers, picking, packing, and all other activities which are supposed to take place during the movement of a material from one place to another place happens here.
    Logistics general
This link can serve some of the functions of Logistics execution, materials management, and sales and distribution also. This module by itself will not contain certain processes of its own, but it will enable the functions pertaining to all of the logistics modules namely SD, MM, LE etc. In this aspect, this is the module which covers ceratin configurations pertaining to multiple modules like product hierarchy, variant configuration etc.
    Hope this helps.
    Rwd points!!!

  • WHERE clause order ox execution question

I dont understand order of execution of a WHERE clause, using a complex database
I want to write a SELECT statement with the following condition
    ... WHERE ( branch = 'main' ) AND ( type = 1 ) OR ( charge -1 AND charge = 2 )
    My question is
<1> Can yoyu use parenthesis inside of a WHERE clause
<2> How would you write such a clause as above if you can not use parenthesis
    Thanks

Just to echo what everyone else is saying, of course parentheses are syntactically valid and can make a difference to the logic. In you example though,
    WHERE ( branch = 'main' ) AND ( type = 1 ) OR ( charge {noformat}<{noformat}> -1 AND charge <= 2 )is the same thing as
    WHERE ( branch = 'main' AND type = 1 ) OR ( charge {noformat}<{noformat}> -1 AND charge <= 2 )and even
WHERE branch = 'main' AND type = 1 OR charge {noformat}<{noformat}> -1 AND charge <= 2because AND takes precedence over OR. You can think of it as a "stronger" operator.
However I would not use the last version because it's ambiguous to anyone reading it, and code like that can easily hide bugs. I would also not use the first version because all those redundant brackets are just confusing, making it almost as hard to read (and therefore prone to bugs) as the last version.
btw I've changed your example because I know this forum can swallow *{noformat}<{noformat}>* (I've used {noformat} tags to preserve it).
I'm not sure if any of this affects order of execution (and if it does, your Oracle version will make a difference).

  • Parallel Execution questions

Hi everyone, i have few questions about Parallel Execution.
1- Query Coordinator to scan the table, split up the table to the processes. But, each process take different number of rows. For example, in oracle 10g database architecture, thomas kyte gave an example:
    "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM BIG_TABLE"
It is distributed to 4 processes. One process take 1000 rows, another process 1200 etc. Why this is not equal? How the number of rows is determined by the QC?
2- If we do not determine the degree of parallelism ( /*+ PARALLEL(B) */ instead of /*+ PARALLEL(B,16) */ ) how the cbo determine the degree of parallelism?
3- in the explain plan i see lots of thing i do not know. For example :
    :TQ10000
    what is that?
    -> TQ, IN-OUT, PQ_Disturb columns?
    thanks for responses.

    Hi
Why this is not equal? How the number of rows is determined by the QC?The number of rows is not used to split the table. Data is split in granules and distributed to the slave processed based on two methods:
    - partition granules: a whole partition is given to a specific slave process
    - block range granules: range of blocks are given to each slave process
So, depending on the size of the granules, one slave process might process much more data than another.
If we do not determine the degree of parallelism how the cbo determine
the degree of parallelism? It depends on the configuration. In fact, there is a default at session level, at system level and at table level. Depending which ones are set, a DOP is chosen. In addition, the DOP might be decreased at runtime (before the execution starts, not dynamically during it).
For example : :TQ10000 what is that?Producers send data to consumers through so called "table queues" (TQ). The number, in your case 10000, is just a identifier generated by the database engine.
    TQTable queue, e.g.: TQ10000 -> Q1,00
IN-OUTThis is the relationship between parallel operations. E.g. P->P means that a parallel operation sends data to another parallel operation.
PQ_Disturb columns? This is the method used to distribute rows. E.g. RANGE means that the producers send specific ranges of rows to different consumers.

  • Execution questions

    Come, come, all the experts!
Today only! Two for the price of one!
    First question:
Look at the attached VI. It has a for loop with a 2D array in it. When the array is auto indexed out of the loop the loop runs faster than when it isn't. Why?
    Second question:
When I initialize an array to be 99999 by 99999, I usually just get an empty array back. Sometimes, I get a warning message about memory, which I can handle, but I'm wondering why most of the time I get nothing at all.
Both of these are in 7.0 on a XP Pro laptop.
Maybe it really is time to take that LV course...
Try to take over the world!

    loop question.vi ‏25 KB

    Ah OK,
Sorry. I've run the VI on my PC and have observed the same thing you have. I think I have an idea where the execution times are coming from.
As far as I know the compiler for LV is quite clever. By autoindexing the for loop, the appropriate array size is set BEFORE the loop is run to maximise execution time. If the output of the loop is not passed anywhere though, the array is simply not generated. Although the diagram shows the array being indexed, the compiler sees that this isn't actually going anywhere and so it doesn't bother allocating megabytes of data which won't be used anywhere.
Thus, with autoindexing enabled, the compiler skips the allocation, thus saving time. With autoindexing disabled, it doesn't seem to check if the array is being used further, and allocates the single array again and again and again.
If you DO wire the array out of the FOR loop, you'll see that the WITH indexing is again FAR slower than WITHOUT. As expected.
I haven't been able to get the VI to give me an empty array. I've generated the error message, but I don't see the empty array.
    Hmmm.
    Shane.
