Logitech Control Center Software and Slow StartUp

Has anyone noticed that startup and login are slower after installing the Logitech Control Center software?
After installing it I get the beach ball when I log in which I didn't before the installation.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Anyone using a Logitech mouse and the Control Center software?
I was using the 2.1.3 version but it may have been the culprit of my frequent kernel panics.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this...
It's a VX Revolution notebook mouse.

I added a Logitech VX notebook wireless mouse to my system a few days ago and have started seeing kernel panics when the system is sleeping and I move the mouse to wake it up. I ran the hardware test and it didn't find any problems.

  • Does Logitech Control Center crash my MacBook?

    Dear All,
just a question - Yesterday I installed the Logitech Control Center (2.2.2) together with my new VX Revolution mouse. Besides the fact that I love this mouse my computer crashed two times in the last two days.
The only option was to switch it off and on again (I never had this before - thanks to Apple!!!)
Did anyone else see a similar problem?
    Thanks a lot
    Albert

Logitech is first and foremost a PC oriented provider. They have really neat toys that we Mac users want. It has been long since known for years Logitech is late in developing for the Mac equivalent or keeping up on updates. But we still suck up all their gear that will even remotely work on our machines and suffer through the mostly antiquated poorly developed software that is sometimes needed to get all the features for your device. I have had the same problems with earlier versions of LCC, but back then it was not as important to have the latest version because the features were the same across many versions and you could find one, I have used many versions that were severely old, that did you the least amount of damage and still get your mouse to work nicely. Even sometimes not even running LCC and letting the Mac Prefs run the device was on the only way to get things to work.
The MX Rev, of which they sent me one (for free) to make up for the 5 MX 1000's that died prior to the ends of there times, I love it. But in the first release the Mac LCC was limited as to how the many services that were available to the buttons, I still muddled on with my cool new toy. A while later I mysteriously received a questionnaire asking what I would like to see in the next (2.2.2) version of the LCC. I mentioned extended and equal options for all buttons and had some personal requests as well. Well in the next, current, release there was what I wanted. Woo Hoo! BUT as with all first releases of the LCC it has its bugs. I have been for the most part, spared any complications due to the LCC and have not had to revert to an earlier version, loosing features. BUT I have been having severe and bizarre OS problems since updating to 10.4.10 and the first place I headed was the LCC and fortunately that was not the problem. As mentioned before Logitech is not always forthright on the up take in maintaining their Mac software and Logitech will say that it is compatible for that OS, but it's the same version as before and was never fully acclimated for the update. I have spoken with their "off shore" tech support and when I was able to finally get my problem across, scrolling in iTunes (7.2 - scrolling reverses at high spin) they were at a complete loss, escalated it and I have yet to hear back. It's been months.
Unfortunately, the only way to get through the problems is to revert, but at the moment you loose many nice and functional features. I have had to contemplate this myself a couple of times. But if I remember, it was listed that you were running 10.4.10. That's your main problem.
SO to get to my point, 10.4.10 has jacked up a lot. I spent a large amount of time reverting many machines back to 10.4.9 or earlier, because 10.4.10 just does not want to play well and has caused many new and very bizarre problems. And this OS reversion was not a typical process. It took at least a 7-Pass wipe to completely clear the drives, otherwise there were files left on the drives that interfered with the new install and you were no better off with the new retro install.
I am marginally back to 10.4.9, mostly limping and currently talking to Apple in detail to investigate what is going on and am running the LCC 2.2.2 with no apparent problems . . . . yet. Or that have been traced to it as a hindrance in my Frankensteined install of 10.4.9.
Since you are running 10.4.10, I would confidently say that there is your problem. Only because I have had many really weird things happen since and after 10.4.10 and reverting to 10.4.9 has carried residual problems that only surfaced in 10.4.10. But LCC 2.2.2 is functioning good for the most part back in 10.4.9. Most to the time they will show the compatibility range of the LCC, but this time, it's "Mac® OSX 10.3.9-10.4.'x'". x = ? The last I saw was that LCC 2.2.2 was only rated to 10.4.9.
I hope this is food for thought can help your investigation, if not help you understand why there may be problem.

I cannot find the AirPlay icon for the life of me. I have iOS 7.0.2 on my iPad Mini. Connected to my WiFi network just fine. I swipe up to get to the control center badges and all I see is the AirDrop icon. Trying to disable mirroring on ipad for Netflix streaming and don't know what to do. Any luck out there?

If you last used an Apple TV to mirror your device and have updated to the newest Apple TV software, go into settings and turn airplay back on. The icon should then appear on your iPad mini when you swipe up allowing you to disable it for Netflix. After updating my Apple TV software for some reason it turned airplay off.

  • Mac not starting up after installing Logitech Control Center

    Hello,
Since I installed Logitech Control Center I am not able to start my Macbook.
The single mode revealed issues mentionning Logitech classes. The disk tool is not able to repair the disk.
Booting on a snow leopard CD and using Disk Tool from there gives the same results.
Invalid Node Structure is the given message.
Would you have any idea on how I can fix this?
At least is there any way to backup some files? (I didn t succeed to copy/paste files in the Disk Tool)
Thank you in advance for your help!

It likely that DiskWarrior or Drive Genius might repair it.
Other than that, get an external drive, install OSX on it, boot with the Option/alt ket held down, & on 1st boot from the external & putting your info in, avail yourself of the Migration Assistant offer, se how much it can migrate off your internal drive.

  • Control Center Software

So I just bought this 6500 A.  It comes with a very minimal computer GUI.  What happened to cover page generators and things like that?  Is there an upgrade for the software?  A third-party add-on?

  • Where can I download VAIO CONTROL CENTER SOFTWARE (not UPDATE) for WIN8?

My model is SVE1513RCXB. Thanks for your help.

    Hi mlbnguyen2610,
Thank you for considering Sony Community!
Based on my end, the original Operating System of your Vaio SVE1513RCXB is Windows 7. Did you install a retail copy of Windows 8 Operating System? Usually the originally shipped version of Vaio Control Center is in the recovery partition. Kindly try this option.
Download and install VAIO Care™ (Desktop) Software, this is under Windows 8 option located on eSupport.sony.com. Open Vaio Care (Desktop) -> Advanced Tools -> Restore and recovery -> Reinstall applications and drivers -> Then look for Vaio Control Center and follow the on-screen instructions. (We have different versions of Vaio Care. Just follow the instructions applicable in your unit).
For further assistance regarding your concern, please contact the Sony offices/Sony representative offices nearest to your place of residence in Asia Pacific region http://www.sony-asia.com/countryselector.html?hpid=countryselector:AsiaPacific. Due to proximity, they are in a better position to respond to your questions or concerns.
    Hope these help.

    Vincent

  • Remove logitech control center

    Hi All
New to the world of MAC. Can someone tell me step by step exactly how to remove the control center? I just installed a vx nano mouse and I think control center is causing the macbook to crash.
    Thanks in advance.
    Jason

    Hi there,
simply go to Logitech's website, download the "LCC" installer package. Inside the dmg-file you'll find a little program called "Uninstaller" - that's what you're looking for.
    Enjoy!

  • [SOLVED] Gnome 3.6.1 Control Center Printers and Users "unlock"...

I have an Arch system running Gnome 3.6 with systemd, and without consolekit as is now the standard.
After upgrading from Gnome 3.4 to 3.6, the unlock buttons in both Users and Printers section of gnome-control-center no longer work. (In 3.4, the printers dialog could authenticate but it never actually worked properly - I heard they fixed this in 3.6. I never tried the Users panel back then)
Anyways, I sifted through the source code for the Printers dialog, and it points to the polkit 'org.opensuse.cupspkhelper.mechanism.all-edit' rule. Reading the rule file for cupspkhelper (which exists), it specified "allow_admin" is what this rule wants. Following further research, I added myself to the 'wheel' group which apparently should work. And after all of this? It still doesn't work. I imagine that there is a similar problem for the Users panel, but I haven't investigated in detail.
Any ideas to get this working? Is it broken upstream? Is it my fault?
    Thanks
[edit] I guess I should post some logs, bug running gnome-control-center in terminal doesn't actually output anything. -v adds nothing other than to say it is in debug mode.
    http://pastebin.com/SUXnfWX8
    /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.opensuse.cupspkhelper.mechanism.policy
    http://pastebin.com/Pcs9Fd27
Additionally, I have a newly added suspicion that gnome just needs ConsoleKit.

I should note that this cleared up on its own after a packagekit update it seems.

  • Control Center is very slow after mapping execution

    Hi,
I'm using OWB 10gR2 (10.2.0.1) on DB 10.2. When I execute different mappings and try to monitor the execution results in Control Center I'm facing a problem. The execution time of the mapping is quite normal. But after successfull execution I have to wait about one minute for the execution results (row activity). Furthermore opening and closing the job detail window takes about 1 minute to until the control center reacts.
I've worked with same OWB10gR2 on DB 9.2 in the past and everythings works fine. But my DBA upgraded oracle database and i migrated to this new repository. The location that I use is set to 10.2.
Do you know this issue? Any advices for "tuning" my repository are very desirable.
    Steffen

    Hi,
I think this is not related with database issue. And also there is nothing like tuning for this issue.
I will suggest you to upgrade your RAM and always try to work on OWB with minimum CPU load like an example if there are any other exisitng databases rather than OWB then stop the services.
Take care of all these things.
And always deploy your mappings in Control Center.

  • IOS 7 Control Center - Otterbox and Griffin Armor Case Users

I have had similar problems with both my iPad and iPhone getting the control center to swipe up from the very bottom of the screen...the only solution right now is to try and wedge your finger at the very bottom of the screen and swipe up and hope that works, or take your front cover off and leave the screen exposed or put a screen film over it and use it that way.  You could cut some of the bottom plastic away to give you a spot to swipe up but that would make the case look ugly.
There is however an easy fix and it is up to Apple to do this or not:
Just as you can swipe down anywhere on the screen to do a spotlight search, release a patch that does the same for the control center...anywhere you swipe up on the home row area, the control center comes up.
Problem solved...you didn't think this one through by only make it a small strip area at the bottom of the screen and not taking into account armored cases.

    I did solve the issue....
If you have a Griffin case you can push the protective cover film away from the case and then use a dremel tool to lightly sand the plastic in the right corner to the shape of a half-circle.  Be careful not to dremel the plastic, but once you are done you can put the cover back on and now control center works perfectly as long as you use your finger in the bottom right corner.
    Easy mod and fix.

  • Mail Sort Order and Logitech Control Center 3.1

LCC Scroll Enhancer Loader.osax is a Scripting Addition in /library/scriptingadditions that reproducibly causes the sort order in Mail to revert to Date Received/Newest on Top. With LCC Scroll Enhancer Loader.osax in the Scripting Additions folder, you can change the sort order for a folder, but when you click on another folder and return to the original, the sort order reverts to Date Received/Newest on Top.
Removing LCC Scroll Enhancer Loader.osax and restarting Mail remedies this problem.
Can anyone else confirm this occurs in their system as well (10.6.1)?

I upgraded to Snow Leopard (10.6.2) from 10.5 yesterday and noticed this Mail sort problem straight away. Concurrently I upgraded to Default Folder 4.3.3 and LCC 3.1. Following the advice of you guys, I've excluded Mail.app in System Prefs/Default Folder/Settings/Advanced and lo and behold date sort is working normally again.
I mean, I've spent 15 years having most recent at the bottom and it's very wrong to have it at the top!

  • Logitech Control Center 2.3.1

Do not install the LCC 2.3.1 recently posted by logitech! Kernel panics on wake from sleep are persisting. On top of that, I experienced a major overall system slow down; responsiveness in dock, scrolling etc went down drastically.
And the best thing... there is no uninstaller provided with the install package. Simply removing all files related to lcc or logitech through spotlight didn't solve a thing. In the end, I downloaded the lcc 2.2 disk image and applied the separate uninstall application on there. One reboot later, everything went back to normal.

Do you have a link to the v2.2 disk image? I also need to uninstall LCC 2.3.1
