Logitech Cordless Desktop S 350

Hello fellow iMac users!
I have been seriously considering using a cordless keyboard and mouse setup with my iMac. I hear that Logitech makes great products. Has anyone here used the Cordless Desktop S 350 for Mac? It looks like it got great reviews, and I am strongly considering buying it. Also, is MacMall a reputable reseller? They are selling it for way less than what Logitech is asking. Any thoughts on the the product or the MacMall buying experience would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a link to the product:

Thanks!

DV Guru, I have the Logitech S530 & loved it until I updated to 10.4.9. From what I've read it is an issue with 10.4.9. The problem I have is the loss of configuration of both the keyboard & the mouse. When I tried to reinstall the software received the alert "Disc image you are opening may be damaged and could damage your system. Are you sure you want to open this disk image? Do you want to open .dmg?" Each d/l file was met with same warning. Contacted Apple Care who walked me through Apple Disc Utility....no damage, of course as I had not opened the .dmg file. Their advice was to contact Logitech which I had done previously without success. Checking Logitech forums again recently ran across a post that referred me to Apple article http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=30511
Followed these instructions & was able to configure both keyboard & mouse & it worked flawlessly till shutdown. Restart next day & back to article repairing directory structure. Successful again till shutdown. I did install in Safe Mode. Both keyboard and mouse still work but no response from the special keys which are so handy. For now I plan to continue using the S530 & hope next Logitech software update will correct the issue.
I have shopped with MacMall & was pleased with the experience.

  • Logitech Cordless Desktop S 530 Laser for Mac

Is anyone using this keyboard? http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/keyboards/keyboardmicecombos/devices/158&cl=us,en
I have had it with the BT Apple keyboard...
I have no intention of using the logitech drivers, and I am wondering how it behaves without them?
    Any input would be appreciated

My Mac tech guy has one and loves it. There is a driver download on the Apple site that has the fully customizable control panel for it. Apparently it's a 50/50 shot of getting the correct driver disk in the box!
    Here's the Apple download link

  • Logitech Cordless Desktop S530 Laser

Anyone have this? I was thinking about getting it since I really wasnt liking the might mouse.
    http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2162,CONTENTID=114 20

I went ahead an ordered it on Amazon.com. I assume that it was just recently released with them as they say I should be recieving it tomorrow (with Overnight shipping).
Only reason I considered this was because I'm a huge fan on Logitech and I've never had a problem with any of their mice (performance esp). I wasn't too fond of the Mighty Mouse which was key in deciding to get the new set. I didnt like the sensitivity and response I was getting (especially when I set the mouse speed to Max, and it still wasn't enough for me). Since the mouse that comes with this Logitech set is a Laser one, I expect the response to be way better.
Since I dont have a wireless keyboard. I figured the inclused wireless keyboard was nice also. Anyways, I'll go ahead and post my personal review on this new combo from Logitech as soon as I get it, in case people were interested.

  • Logitech Cordless Mouse Suddenly Died On eMac Fine On G3iMac

Yesterday I got back from my holiday and switched on my eMac.
All was well for a few seconds and then the cursor froze. {Around that time the desktop went peculiar as though the F11 key had been pressed though this may have nothing to do with it}.
I unplugged my Black Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse (which has worked perfectly for over a year) and substituted the original Apple mouse. Of course it worked.
Thinking that the batteries might be weak, I put new ones in and pressed the "connect" buttons. Still nothing happened.
I then plugged the Apple mouse into the spare USB socket on the keyboard and opened the System Profiler. The computer was recognising the Logitech Receiver that was plugged in.
I have tried everything I can think of including restarting the computer but to no avail. I can't even find any Preference Files to trash! I have repaired the permissions.
b I feared the mouse had suffered some fatal affliction but this morning when I plugged it into my G3 iMac it worked normally!
I tried again on the eMac but it was completely dead.
As the system Profiler recognises the presence of the receiver I can only guess that there must be some program conflict - but why would it occur so suddenly, especially as I have downloaded/installed nothing new recently?
I would appreciate any helpful suggestions.

    Thanks JMVP.
I forgot to mention that I had used Preferential Treatment. I also searched for mouse-related plists and found absolutely nothing.
(I have never used the Logitech Control Centre software because once installed the cursor used to move normally but clicking on anything resulted in nothing happening! Logitech gave me a work-around but it was extremely complicated, involved delving deeply into the UNIX heart of the computer and seemed too risky to be worth trying. In any case the mouse worked perfectly by just plugging it in and relying on the native OSX software).
Incidentally, whilst trying to get the cordless mouse to work with the eMac I moved the receiver all over the place just in case there were any reception black-spots or something in the room was causing interference - but that didn't help.
I have now decided the simplest solution is to use the normal 3 button corded mouse (which had been connected to my G3iMac) on the eMac and the dodgy mouse can work happily with the G3.

  • Ventrilo, Logitech Premium USB Headset 350 and System Preferences

    Hi all,
I have some troubles using ventrilo on my G5 (same problems also on a new iMac).
Ventrilo is working, I'm using it with World of Warcraft, and using it with a Logitech Premium USB Headset 350 (but the problem happen also with Logitech 250).
After some times I'm using Ventrilo, this is very random, people in Ventrilo stop hearing me. I noted that opening the System Preferences, checking the Sound panel, the Logitech is selected as sound in, but the visual signal on the panel is blank (if I speak on the microphone no signal is visualized).
What I need to do is to disconnect the Logitech from the USB and reconnect it. I need also to exit from Ventrilo and relaunch it.
Then all is working good again, naturally till this happen again (may be 5 minutes after as 30 minutes).
I've also tried to remove Ventrilo and its preferences and reinstalling it. This assuming that the cause of all this is Ventrilo and not MacOSX. But this happen also on a new iMac...
    Thanks for any help!

    Hi Croma12,
The problem is not Ventrilo - it's Logitech's headsets and the driver software.
I have had both the USB 350 and USB 250 - each have the same problem, that is, not being recognized when freshly connected. It's a trip to the Sound Preferences pane each time to reset. Often we need to toggle the Mute checkbox to make the headset work.
Even worse, 90% of the time when I connect the headset, it freezes my MacBook completely, necessitating a forced restart. Not Cool.
I've combed through the Logitech support library and discussion forums - as a company, their Mac support is very poor, and their forum moderators know very little about Mac hardware.
To make the switching of sound sources a little easier, Google for "soundsource" - it's a menu-bar widget that will sometimes enable the Logitech headset without needing a trip to the Sound Preferences.

  • Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse doesnt work with mac os x 10.4.5?

I just bought a Logitech® Cordless Optical Mouse in japan to use with my powerbook running os x 10.4.5...the mouse doesnt seem to work with the native bluetooth system. so I plugged in the supplied reciever and could get the mouse to move the cursor, but only that. buttons dont work. I down loaded some kind of device manager from the logitech web site but just as the apple bluetooth manager it does not "discover" the mouse.
I noticed that the system requirements for the logitech device manager is osx 10.3 - 10.4.2 so im wondering if my system is to new for this product.
all this i found out after i bought the mouse, and it is a little irritating...it said it was mac compatible on the box...
should I be waiting for an update from logitech or apple concerning this problem.
or is there an easy fix/ anyone else have this problem?
    thanks

Hi, © !       — or do you prefer Ulfur?
What model?   "A Logitech® Cordless Optical Mouse" covers a lot of territory. For example, I have a CordlessOptical11 mouse that's several years old — and IrDA, not Bluetooth. This Logitech page contains a chart defining the name and "device model string" for each product, based on the M/N stamped into the bottom of your mouse. Better safe than sorry: Logitech's support — particularly for Mac folk — can be somewhat challenging. [1]
From there, you might try to confirm that you have the correct driver from Logitech's Support »» Downloads »» Mice page —
                         — but, Oops! — unfortunately, it may only link to Windows-compatible drivers.
Logitech has used their own patented RF technology for years — and some of their "Bluetooth" products "may not" actually provide Bluetooth functionality in Macs. (OK, that was tongue-in-cheek: I really mean "do not.") The mice usually work, though.
AFAIK, Logitech Control Center 1.6.2 is their latest driver for USB mice. (They have other mouse drivers, too.)
However, as this page explains, their V270 Bluetooth mouse supposedly doesn't require a driver separate from what's provided by Apple.
You may want to search this forum for differing views on this. Also, go to this Logitech user forums page and click to select the Macintosh forum. I won't deny you the (dis-?)pleasure of reading about others' experiences...
[1]  Sorry, I don't mean to be as discouraging as I've probably made things sound. Most Mac folks have actually had pretty good experience with Logitech USB and Bluetooth mice — but Logitech Support's attitude toward Mac users could be improved. Please check things to confirm what's what — then post back, and I — or someone else who's using an MX900 or MX1000 or V270 or whatever Logitech mouse — will try to help further.
Looking forward to hearing back from you,
    Sincerely,
    Dean
[2]  The links I've provided all work within Logitech's US website (I just tested). If appropriate, you may want to start fresh from the Logitech home page and find comparable international pages.

  • Logitech cordless click plus mouse for a mini

I got this mouse from the clearance rack at staples and have not been able to get it to work. I have the software installed and setup it up the way the instructions say,
Is it incompatible with the mini?
I have a logitech mouse with a cord which works fine (Though I would like to keep this hooked up on my powerwave setup so I don't have to share/unplug equipment)
Does the wireless feature have to be activated somehow so it accepts a wireless mouse?

I don't know how your mouse looks like as I cannot find it from logitech web site.
I've got a logitech cordless mouse using with my mini and not sure if yours shared the same operating mechanism of mine. Here is mine. There is a transmitter/receiver stuff with a USB cable (that you should plug it into one of the USB ports of your mini) and a button on top of it. On the other hand, in the mouse, there is a very little button at the bottom of it which can only be clicked using tool like tip of a pen or a paperclip (recommended). What you have to do to link them up is to first press the button on the transmitter/receiver and then click the very button on the mouse within a certain second (5s or 10s?) - When the button of the transmitter/receiver is clicked, it will start searching for a mouse. Then, when the button of the mouse is clicked, it acknowledges the searching of the transmitter/receiver for its existence. If the button of the mouse is clicked within the 5 or 10 second, the mouse should be worked.

  • Logitech cordless optical mouse & MSI k7D-master

    Hi,
just wanted to know if someone is using a logitech cordless and optical mouse around and a MSI

I bought one last week and put it to work, pretty nice invention I said!!!!!
    it was functioning pretty well, comfortable i´d say, until that moment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;(  :O  X(  8o  ?(  X(
    X(  ;(  ;(  ;(   ;(  ;(  ;(  ;(  ;(
The moment i decided to install the st*pid software bundle it has!!!!
MOUSEWARE 9.41.1 (windows) for Microsoft Windows:
    XP, Me, 2000, 98, 95, NT 4.0
this machine runs 2 processors (athlons MP)& Wxp PRO.
I installed the software like i always do it ( put it into my cdrw and appeared the install screen) i was prompted to install the mouse software & music match too, i did it.
    My machine is as follows:
    K7D MASTER-L
    2 Athlons MP 1600+
1024 Mb ddr ecc registered Kingston
    4-80 Gb IDE barracuda 7200 rpm UATA 100 (0+4)

Then i was prompted to restart my machine....i did it.
then the post, the fasttrak bios, the scsi card bios, everything that my machine runs before starting..........finally the WINDOWS XP PRO screen booting up...........then suddenly a BSOD (blue screen of death), telling me that it was stopping due to new installed software or hardware, blah, blah blah stop at code 0x93c3487…. !!!....................................... ......................... 8o  8o  8o  8o  8o  8o  ?(  ?(  ?(  ?(
    what the hell??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
restarted my system and entered in safe mode..........run uninstall mouseware and everything i installed.
again the post, the fasttrak bios, the scsi card bios......booted up and enter in windows like i normally do.
I wanted to restart my system once and did it, but when it restarted a small st*pid window suddenly appeared telling me i have lost my profile just like this:
"Windows cannot load your profile because it may be corrupted. Contact your administrator. "
“Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off”
“seconds until you are logged into a temporary profile…………30,29,28,27,…..,2,1,0”
it logged in ……………………all my icons, where were them????????
    My programs, my work ?????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!aaaaahhhhhhh!!!!
    I was insane, insane, insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;(  ;(  ;(  ;(  8o  8o  8o  8o  ;(  ;(  ;(  ?(  ?(  8o  :O  :O  :O  :O  :O  ;(  ;(  ;(  ;(  ;(  ;(  ;(  ;(  ;(
    I decided to use system restore…..it functioned. I have everything back  )  )  )  )  )  )
I think Wxp pro, 2 processors & mouseware from Logitech are not good combination!
Logitech: I won’t buy anything from them again, the box the mouse came in has a legend telling you: over 10 million Cordless mice Sold!! (Yeah, that´s right for uni processor machines, maybe)
I ´m still learning things about my dual processor machines: they do not like everything that is designed for uniprocessor machines!!!
A dual processor machine is something fast, more than one processor has to be better in many aspects. But again, not everything is designed for a dual processor machine.
Does anyone know how to back up your profile in  Wxp pro????
    Any comments are welcomed!!!

Before Installing CD drivers you should always check to see if later drivers are available.  The 9.6x drivers have been out for ages so go and try them.

  • X11, xinput and the Logitech LX710 Cordless Desktop Laser Mouse

    Hello all,
First, lets be clear, the problem I'll describe in the lines below drives me nuts. This forum is my last change before:
1 - Throwing myself through the window
    2 - Spend 50€ for a new mouse
Before taking one of those solutions here is my problem:
I bought a Logitech LX710 kit with keyboard and a mouse connected to a single usb bundle. The keyboard works fine but using the mouse can transform you insane. The single click works 1 time on 3, the double click is random, the single click is sometime taken as a press and hold. At the beginning I thought it was an hardware problem but the kit works fine on windows .
So here is how I configure my kit:

I think this is the problem. Mouse0 is well detected, configured as a mouse, the as a keyboad and to finish, xinput add it as
    type: KEYBOARD
. How can I avoid that? Where am I wrong? Do you see anything else in my configuration, or in the log that can help me?
Hoping someone can help me, I've already open the window...
    Regards,
    KaB

I've got the same hardware and have not yet experienced any issues. However, I am using openSUSE 11.1 Here the xorg config:

  • Logitech Cordless Laser Desktop For Mac (S530)

Has anyone used this setup with their iMac yet? Any good? I find that with the large 20" monitor I tend to sit back a lot further and yet lean forward to reach the keyboard on it's tether.
    Cheers

Well nil responses forthcoming, I bought one anyway for the new Mac Pro coming next week to replace a defective iMac FW issues. I'll let you guys know if it's nice or not.
    Cheers

  • Logitech Cordless Number Pad???

How do I set up Logitech's Cordless Number Pad for Notebooks on my Leopard iMac 24"? It's a USB plug and play (although the packaging specifies it's for the Windows system).
The firs time I plugged it in, Leopard put of a graphic trying to identify the "keyboard" which instructed me to press the key to the right of the left shift button. No such button on a number pad.
Further pushing of the pad's reset and the usb receiver connect button produce no results.
The Logitech support site is no help, although there are few others posting the same question.
Does this have anything to do with the LCC drivers, and do I need them?
    Any ideas?

Because every device is different, that's why. (and bluetooth vs usb probably doesn't matter either way in this case). In addition, I've seen lots of Logitech or Microsoft USB keyboards that "work" - but not every feature. For example, dedicated function buttons for things like "launch media player" or "volume" may not work, because they're predicated on a SOFTWARE DRIVER communicating between the keyboard and the system. No driver means that only the basic keys will work, not extended keys that do specific functions.
Just because a USB mouse or keyboard works, doesn't mean automatically the numeric keypad will work. My guess is that keypad that doesn't work, doesn't work because it needs a driver present to communicate input from the keypad to the system.

  • Logitech cordless mouse doesn't work

I bought a cordless keyboard and mouse and installed them on my PBG4 via USB.
The keyboard works perfectly but I can only move the mouse but NOT CLICK it...
can anyone help? THANKS in advance!!!

You're right! I did this and it worked. Unfortunatly I had to figure it out by myself. But thanks anyway.
Now the only problem I have is making my keyboard to work properly. I just need to change the mode of the keyboard from english to something else (slovenian). Because I have "y" and "z" key swaped.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I tried almost everything.
    Thanks

  • USB overdrive not recognising Logitech Cordless Rumble Pad in the status?

    Hello,
I just got GamePad Companion for my mbp to play Max Payne 2 (Intel Crossover Version)
...the keyboard and mouse for it runs smooth and fine but when I try using my gamepad with Gamepad Companion, it gets super slow and not all the buttons work, like the joystick.
I then deciced to try USB overdrive, which I hear is pretty popular. I have the most up to date version. When I go to status, its blank, and it seems as if it doesn't recognise my gamepad.
I hear with USB overdrive you can customise key maps per application. I'm assuming its in the import settings. It did not recognise my game but I'm assuming its because its an Intel Crossover.
    So...
Should I stick with gamepad companion? Does it normally work fine for games and just in this scenario being an intel crossover its acting up?
    Or
Is there something more about USB overdrive that I'm missing. Exluding that game, it still doesn't seem to be recognising my gamepad
    Any suggestions please?
    Thankyou

  • Logitech cordless bluetooth headphones not working with zen to

Anyone else have problems with these only coming through one speaker. Or if there was something I needed to do to fix this.

I don't have any other bluetooth devices. I wish I did that would solve the mystery on if it's the headphones. Update I just messed with the headphone adapter and I hear it in one ear then the other ear only when it's securly in there. If I have it out a little in the middle it catches both speakers sometimes. You think that is the headphones that are defecti've or my second plug in the touch. The reoson I say the second plugin spot is that it works great with simple headphone plugged in.
