Logitech diNovo edge and 10.6.3 erratic?

Installed 10.6.3 with no problem but kept running into 'gray screen of death'....one by one i eliminated things and the one consistent problem was when the logitech dinovo edge (mac edition) keyboard tried to pair. I'm using it now but i'm waiting for that gsod since it's the first time that the machine has held up after pairing. Anyone else having problems with logitech stuff? My logitech mx revolution mouse is fine but that's not bluetooth....my apple bluetooth mice work fine (guess I have too many things!!!) and if i use the wired apple keyboard and wired mouse, nary a problem. I don't use more than one wireless mouse/keyboard at a time.......

I was able to get mine listed in hcitool by using hid2hci.  Use lsusb to get the device's hex ID (just running the command hid2hci worked as well since I only had one device).  I was able to enable this behavior on start by setting HID2HCI_ENABLE and HIDD_ENABLE to true in /etc/rc.d/bluetooth and /etc/conf.d/bluetooth.

I have read some of the Bluetooth problems of iPhone 4s. Still now I cannot paired my iphone 4s with my desktop and Samsung Omnia. However I am able to pair with my Motorola headset, Sony Vaio laptop and Logitech diNovo Edge keyboard.
I stopped trying to pair these failed devices because I considered it as incompatible issues. The reason I am posting this message is would like to get some tips and trick to use Logitech diNovo Edge keyboard. I am able to type and volume control.

  • Logitech DiNovo Edge (non-mac version) suddenly stopped working on 17MBP5,2

    I have a Mid 2009, 17" MacBook Pro 5,2 with Mac OS X 10.6.7.
Connected to the laptop I have a Dell 2709WFP via HDMI, a Logitech MX Revolution mouse and a Logitech DiNovo Edge.
Recently the keyboard would stop working after a reboot. I would have to disconnect the KB dongle and log into Mac OS X before reconnecting for it to work. Then it stopped working altogether no matter what I did. Unplug, plug it back in. Different USB ports, etc... I did not have the Logitech Control Center installed.
So I installed the latest Logitech Control Center. It recognizes the mouse, but not the keyboard. However the mousepad on the keyboard works. Just the keyboard itself does not.
So I put the KB dongle into my 13" Mid 2009 MBP5,5 (10.6.7) and it works perfectly. So I plug it into a Windows 7 PC, and it works perfectly. The battery is fully charged. The issue existed in both 10.6.6 & 10.6.7.
I've tried reconnecting and everything else. I'm at a loss. Totally confused.
I haven't installed any applications lately when the issue started.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • DiNovo edge keyboard

About a week ago I began having trouble with my dinovo edge mac edition keyboard. It's been losing its connection with the mini. Occassionally, the keyboard will work but the track pad wont, or vice versa. Have had significant problems pairing it with the mini. The track pad has also developed a lag, jitteriness and will sort of creep along.
I have paired it with another mini as well as a PB G4 without any problem both in pairing and usage. I've paired a magic mouse with the troublesome mini without any problem too.
based on some forum research I've reset the PRAM and SMC without any luck. The only thing I haven't done is reinstall 10.6.6 for fear of losing the bluetooth all together.
    Thanks for any suggestions
    Neil

I have the diNovo Edge and have the same problem.

  • DiNovo Edge for Mac and vim abbreviations

    Hello Folks,
I bought a diNovo Edge for Mac, the best keyboard I have ever had. Except that the function keys
can only be re-programmed to actions that are on Logitech's list, not yours.
My .exrc setup file for vi/vim is full of map commands, that I can not use, because
cat -v does not show what these keys transmit.
All right, vi/vim understand abbreviation, let's go there. I would like to type
    text lQ text rQ text
    and get
    text \(lqtext\rq text
for the groff word processor, that would convert \(lq to left double quote and \(rq to right
    double quote.
However, the abbreviations need white spaces around them to be expanded, and the trailing space of lQ and leading space of rQ need to be eliminated.
The right quote is working like this but I don't know how, 'cause there is no delete in it:
    ab rQ <Esc>i\(rq
but I can't figure out how to get rid of left quote's trailing space.
I've tried in-line movement etc but no cigar.
If one of you already got the solution, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Mike-oz

    Please try the following -
1> Ensure Edge Inspect app is running and listensing to port 7682, using Netstat command.
2> Ensure device and desktop can talk to each other across port 7682, you might have to disable/modify firewall settings
3> use the ip shown in extension popup to connect from device.
Let me know how it goes.

  • Dinovo Edge BT Keyboard

Previously, I've had pretty good luck with Logitech BT keyboards, and I really want my Dinovo Edge to work. It pairs and connects just fine, but loses pairing and connectivity after my MacPro is in sleep mode for an hour or more. At that point, it is necessary to open Bluetooth Preferences and reconnect. It will reconnect and work fine but, strangely enough, says it is not paired (?). I just want the thing to remain paired and connected and to wake my computer from sleep (yes, I've check off that in preferences). Any suggestions? I'm using the Mac BT module (built-in), not the USB dongle that came with the keyboard.

Yesterday, I plugged in the Logitech-supplied USB BT receiver (the 'dongle'). Everything works perfectly now. The computer wakes with the keyboard after sleeping overnight. Strange that the Apple built-in BT module doesn't do that.

  • Dinovo edge Mac edition

Hey there, First and foremost I'm running on MAC OS X 10.5.8.
since updating to 10.5.8 I've found that at random times my Logicrap dinovo edge keyboard tends to start messing up. The 0 key produces a variety of different letters and symbols and 4 at a time. Or it'll open documents as if shift+o was being held. E, and G are also unusable. Than again - randomly this will stop throughout the day. I've tried everything from resetting the connection - rebooting my mac, repairing (twice) the devices.
This only happened AFTER the update to 10.5.8.
Furthermore - a friend is having a similar issue with his wireless aluminum mac keyboard. Prior to the update his battery would last at least a week. Now a day to a day in a half.
    Any support would be amazing.

    Hello,
I'm not sure if this is a Mac problem or a problem with the Logitech DiNovo for Mac keyboard, but I am having the same problem after 4 months without an issue.
The "o" key generates "Option+o" (which opens an open file dialog) and it also toggles the caps lock. Other screwy keys are d and f. They generate a bunch of gibberish.
I have tried contacting Logitech support but . . . they do not accept email support, their support phone number is disconnected, and they do not answer forum posts. Is there anything I can do on my Snow Leopard iMac to debug this issue to see if it is a Keyboard issue or a Snow Leopard issue? I did not experience this problem prior to my update to Snow Leopard, now my ~ $200 logitech keyboard is worthless.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum remote fighting Logitech DiNovo rem

    Hey,
I have had the 2ZS for awhile now and it's worked great. I just purchased Logitech's Bluetooth DiNovo keyboard and it also has a media controller function. Can I get the two to work together? The DiNovo took over and the 2ZS remote doesn't do anything now. Has anyone ran into this or am I blazing a trail here? Lemme know...
    Thanks in advance,
    jjc8

OK, let's see, you have a device that is still under warranty. You properly installed said device. You put batteries in the remote but it does not work no matter what you try. It seems to me that you have only one option and you mentioned it in the penultimate sentence in your post.
    Hope it's not a long dri've.:smileyvery-happy:

  • EDGE and HTML dynamic text in a "box" with scroll bar

I'm new to EDGE, a win7pro master collection cs5.5 suite owner. I'm mainly in the Film/Video post production field (mostly AE, PPro, Pshop, IA) but have been branching into web design the last couple of years.  I use Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash. While I'm a expert user with all the Film/video apps, I would say I only have intermediate ability with the web apps. While I understand a lot of programing logic bulding blocks I'm not a coder.
So since we're told "flash is dead",  my interest in Edge is to try to do some of the things that I can currently do in flash in  EDGE. I was excited when Edge first came out but lost interest when it became obvious that Adobe was not going to offer Edge and Muse to "suite owners" but only in their force feeding of the "Cloud". Better known as the "golden goose" for adobe stockholders and a never ending perpetual hole in the pocket for users. Anyway....
I spent the last couple of days doing some of the tuts and messing with the UI. It's matured a lot since I was here last.
I've been working on a flash site for a sports team where one of the pages is a player profile page where college recuriters and other interested parties can view recuriting relavent info/stats about players. This is how it works. While on the "Team" page a users clicks on  a button labled "Player Profiles" . (Animation) A "page" flies in and unfurls from the upper right corner (3d page flips effect created in AE played by flash as a frame SEQ). Once it lands filling most of the center of the screen there is a bright flash. As the brightness fades we see the "page" is a bordered box with a BG image of a ball field(End). (Animation) from behind the border in fly small pictures (player head shots with name and jersey number). They stream in and form a circle like a wagon train and the team logo zooms up from infinity to the center of the circle(End). As the user mouses over a player's pic it zooms up a little and gets brighter (like mouseover image nav thumbs for a image slider). If the user clicks on a player's head shot it flips over and scales up to become a text box with a scrollbar. The content of the box is a mix of images, static and dynamic text fields populated from data in an "player info data base" XML file, and some hyperlinks. It's all kept updated dynamicaly with current stats, info and images from the XML file. There is also a "PDF" button that allows the user to open/save/print a PDF of the player's profile (the PDF's are static files for now but the choice of which pdf to retrive is dynamicaly supplied via the XML file.
So.... Is Edge now able to do something like this?  Would it need to be a collection of small animations? could these be "assembled" and connected as an asset in dreamweaver ?
I thought I would approach this from the end (ie click on an image and display a box with dynamic TEXT fileds. ) since that is the most important part, ie displaying the dynamicaly updated profile info.  Sooooo....
Can Edge display a scrolling text box with Images, static text, and html dynamic text in it??

  • Verizon Edge and BYOD

Hopefully, a Verizon Wireless Customer Support rep can answer this question.  I am currently on a family share plan, 2 smartphones (unlimited data) 2 feature phones.  I would like to change to the More Everything/Verizon Edge plan with 10GB of data.  I have 4 verizon smartphones, 2 from original contract, and 2 others.  With just More Everything, it would be $160 for phones..$40/line.  With Edge and 10 GB of data, it would be $60 for phone, $15/line after the $25/line discount.  Same price at AT&T.  So my questions are these;  Can I bring my own devices to the Edge program, and get the per line data discount?  Or, If I buy one Edge phone, can all the other phones on my plan enjoy the per line discount?  and finally, Does the Edge discount continue after the phones have been paid off.  Thank you for any assistance.

First, let's clear up a misunderatanding - EDGE is a payment plan for phones.  If you are bringing all 4 phones then none of them will be on EDGE - that's only for a new device purchased with the EDGE payment plan.
MORE Everything will have a $40/line access for each of the smartphones.  If they currently are out of contract (as they would be if you BYOD), and you have a 10GB or larger data bucket ($100) then you would receive a $25 line discount, effectively erasing the $100 data buck cost.  Total for 4 smartphones and 10 GB shared data, $160.
With EDGE, the cost would be the same, but you would also have to factor in the cost of the phone (the payment plan that is EDGE).  Bringing your own phone without a contract results in the same cost for now, the Month2Month discount, but that is available NOW and may not be in the future.
If I buy one Edge phone, can all the other phones on my plan enjoy the per line discount? Yes, as long as they are out of contract.  And finally, Does the Edge discount continue after the phones have been paid off. It's available now as the month2month discount; whether that will still be available once they EDGE agreement is paid off, who knows?

  • Upgrading to Edge and keeping old phones...

I have 2 phones that are under contract and paid in full, 23 months of the 24  months right now. I'm interested in switching to EDGE, but I learned they want me to give them my phones that are far paid off. Currently, we've paid around 2200$ towards the 900$ in cell phones. I understand you pay more with subsidiaries blah blah. I wasn't asking for a waiver of the contract. I was asking to be  allowed to pay off my last month in the contract today and sign up for EDGE and be able to keep the old phones. I assumed there's no way they would say no, I'm willing to pay 170$ immediately and switch to a plan where I pay 50$ more a month...what company would ever say no to this??  Verizon would.
This whole switch was stemmed from getting stopped by a rep from at&t that was giving money to buy out people's contracts with Verizon and they offered a similar plan for new phones. The trouble is, their service isn't as good in the area I live and so I looked into what Verizon was offering currently. I was excited when I noticed the same offerings over here and disappointed when striking out online and in a local store front.  We were looking to switch to some water resistant phones before our family trip to the Pacific coastline.
Has anyone ever had any luck with customer support in a similar situation. Again, just looking to pay off my last month now and upgrade to new phones on EDGE without turning in my old phones.

Funny thing about that is people with less than 10 GB of data allowance are only paying $10/month of the line access fee towards "paying off their phone" while people with 10 GB or more of data allowance are paying $25/month of the line access fee towards "paying off their phone".
Verizon must like the people better who have a lower data allowance since a smaller portion of their line access fee is going towards "paying off their phone".
Unfortunately, some of the competitors have the same pricing schedule.

  • Edge and Next are good for the corporations but are they good for the consumer?

Ok so I have never paid full price upfront for a phone!  Ever since my first phone from VoiceStream I have opted for what ever phone was "free" because way back then (I blush as I type) I actually thought the phone was "free!!!" Ah, to be naive again!! But as we all know the phones never were nor will they ever be free.
However I say programs like Verizon's Edge and AT&T's Next are good for the corporation if they weren't they would not exist.  The first reason I say this is because Edge and Next allow the cellular service provider to easily recoup the entire cost of the phone in a clear way unlike with subsidized phones that muddy the profit water.  For example, the Verizon 64GB iPhone 5s retails for $849.99, currently with a two year contract you pay $399.99 for that 64GB iPhone 5s.  The EFT for that phone is $350 (minus $10 per month of post paid service).  If you on the 15th the day after you got your phone you paid the EFT but kept service you only paid $749.99 for that $849.99.  Sure you still pay for service but you can leave when ever and Verizon cannot say hey you owe us $100 more for you phone.  Its yours and they can't take it back and the only way Verizon will get that $100 back is though another customer  that subsidized a much lower cost phone that at the completion of that contract Verizon will  more than recoup the cost of that lower priced unit. To top that off you could turn around and sell the phone for $800 go back to Verizon or another provider buy a $450 phone and break even.  I'm not suggesting that people do that or that it may prove to be a big hassle for some that went through all the trouble.  Its just a point to show that subsidized phones make the profits less clear for the service provider to see at first glance.
Second reason these programs are good for the corporation is they allow the service providers to get a better grasp on the true cost of maintaining their networks and providing us the consumer access to their networks.  Third reason it good for the corporation is the people that feel the need to upgrade every six months to a year are required to pay at least 50% of the retail cost of the phone at the same time they must surrender that device in exchange for the new device.  So the service provider then has the phone refurbished certified to be in "like new condition" and sell it again potentially making more than retail cost when the profits of both sales of the same handset are factored together.
That being said what will the impact of programs like Edge and Next have on cost of future cellular service plans and smartphones?  Over time will the service provider give us the best per line access fee (not likely but maybe)? Or will people upgrading their smartphones at faster intervals cause the cost of the smartphones to drop over time? What are your thoughts?

  • If i turn off wifi my phone only goes to Edge and not 3g by default?!?!

I have a very wierd problem with iphone. mine isn't about 3g reception, as i get eprfect reception. the problem is if i turn on wifi and am connected to a network, once i tun off wifi or get out of wifi range, my phone will automatically revent to Edge, and not 3g. i have to go into network settings and disable, then re-enable 3g, and then 3g works perfectly. even if wifi option is on but im not connected to wifi, this works fine. but if and when i connect to a wifi network, suddenly my phone starts reverting back to edge when i either turn off wifi or move out of wifi range. i then have to disable and renable 3g for it to default back to 3g
whats the deal here!! this seems to be a glitch in the system. anybody else facing this problem?? im on 2.1 and i didn't have this problem with any of the previous 2.0.1 or 2.0.2 and was getting eprfect 3g every time.

I think reverting to Edge when in sleep mode is by design.
It make sense when you think about it. Why would you need 3G data speeds for a phone that is sleeping?
But it should pop back to 3G when you open the phone.
I have another thread where ACTIVE Edge transmission streams block switching to Wifi.
This sounds like all part of the same problem. It sounds like Apple reverted to the lowest power radio when in sleep mode, but has still not perfected the switching upon awakening.
If you wake your phone, but do NOT slide the Un-lock slider till you see 3G/wifi it seems to work better. However, it it doesn't work in 6 seconds, its not going to work at all in my experience.
Switching to 3G is so time consuming (not only MY time to initiate it but also the time it takes to actually wait out the "No Service" to get to a 3G icon) that I use very little 3G at all. I'd rather have a solid Edge reliability and
wifi than a flaky unpredictable and very limited coverage 3G. I think I wanted a iPhone V1.5 (half way between V1 and V2. Keep the 3G, its the source of a lot of headaches on this board).
In 3 years it might be different as 3G spreads, but right now 3G is not worth the trouble and expense given the plethora of free wifi.

  • Edge animation works in browser preview from edge and muse but not in chrome when published

I have an Edge animation that worked fine in Chrome, Safari and IE.
The last time I published my Muse site (To BC) again (since update to CC2014) it no longer worked in Chrome!
Preview in browser (Chrome) from edge works, preview in browser (Chrome) from Muse works, publish and it doesn't work in Chrome (but does in Safari and IE).
Have been trawling for possibilities but I'm not that web techy! Any help would be appreciated

I don't remember specifically what fixed it at all as I'd done all of the following:
Removed Muse and Edge and prefs
    Updated Muse and Edge
    trashed cache in Chrome
copied the contents of the Edge project / stage into a new project and saved as cc2014 version
re-published the whole site from Muse
After many attempts it started working again but I can't say that it was one thing in particular - sorry about that.
