Logitech game controller

I purchased a logitech game controller to use with Aspyr's Call of Duty 2. My MBP recognizes the game controller as an attached USB device, but CD2 doesn't. Any suggestions? I tried it with EA games Medal of Honor with identical results.

Apparently no one has much experience in this. I bought a Wii instead.

  • Logitech Game Controller for use in Labview and dealing with possible disconnects

Hello all, I would like to see if there are any suggestions on the following issue. In effect I am using a Logitech game controller to manipulate large scale robots. During operation with these robots I need to plan for the inevitable "accidental" disconnection of the game controller from the computer running labview while it is under operation. Simple to say I can throw the system into standby upon the "ERROR" messages I get, but I want to programmatically be able to "reset" the controller (ie wait for it to be plugged back in) and have the program continue working. However with my work and research thus far that isn't the case. I end up with the same error (even when reconnected, attempted re-initialize, closing the connection, with time delays, and re-initailizing after closing all connections). Nothing seems to work other than closing the program and restarting it (which for the consumer this would be quite frustrating). Suggestions?
Also on a similar note if anyone has any ideas on how to scan for devices prior to using them would be helpful too.
I currently am running Labview 2009 in windows 7. I do realize windows has its unique way of dealing with plug and play devices, and suspect that I may have to play with these features, but I don't know this topic very well.
    Thank you all in advance!

    Hey Dashiva,
I am assuming that the Game Controller that you are using is connected via USB. Does it show up in the computer's Windows menu when it is plugged in? If so, you can make calls to it using .NET controls that could access the device once it is re-connected. I would also try simply hitting F1 and see if that allows the program to reset the controller.

  • Using a Logitech Game Controller F310

Well I purchased this gaming controller because I have an emulator for Nintendo games and I needed to be able to play. It evidentially doesn't work. Has anyone else used this model? Or does anyone have any recommendations as to a controller to get? I'd prefer a USB model.
    Thanks!

In case anyone stumbles upon this thread, I did get my Logitech F710 to work on my iMac. However, it wasn't easy. First of all, simple changing the switch to "D" wasn't enough. When I looked at System Information, it still said it was a Logitech F710 gamepad. That won't work since there isn't an XInput driver for the Mac that works with the F710 as far as I know.
System Information needs to show it as a "Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2" in order for it to work on the Mac. In my case, I needed to disable USB 2 support in VMWare Fusion. Otherwise, Fusion was intercepting the change in USB device ID and wasn't passing it along to the Mac. Initially, I had to start up Fusion and switch the F710 under Windows in order for the change to be reflected on the Mac.
I was finally able to get this to work without starting up Windows. To do this, I had to do the following things in this order:
    1. Change the F710 to "D" (DirectInput) mode
    2. Remove the nano USB receiver from my iMac
    3. Remove one battery from the F710
    4. Re-insert the nano USB receiver into the iMac
    5. Re-insert the battery into the F710
When you look at System Information now, the device should be shown as "Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2". That device will work with the Mac. If your game uses HID Manager, then you won't need to do anything else in order for your gamepad to work. If your game doesn't support HID Manager, then you'll need a program like Carvware's Gamepad Companion or USB Overdrive in order to map the buttons, hatswitch, or analog sticks to keystrokes.
Unfortunately, if you shut your Mac down at night like I do, you'll have to go through the same steps to reattach the F710 to the Mac. Unfortunately, the default mode on the F710 is the XInput mode which doesn't work on the Mac. It won't matter if you leave the F710 in "D" mode.
I ordered a Cordless RumblePad 2 from a retailer that still had it in stock. I have a feeling that's what I'll use in the future since that will be a lot simpler.
I am assuming the F310 would be the same way since all of these Logitech controllers have the XInput and DirectInput modes built into one gamepad. That may be great for Windows users, but it makes it a pain to use it on a Mac.

May not make a difference anyway. The Logitech support site does not show drivers for Mac OS for the F310:
    http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support/gamepad-f310?crid=411
I'd contact their support to find out if there is a Mac driver available, and if they can either give you a web link to get it, e-mail you the software, or snail-mail you a standard-size disk with the drivers.

  • What's the best game controller for a MacBook Pro?

I have a mid-2012, non-Retina, 13" MacBook Pro with a 2.5 Ghz i5 and 8 GB of RAM. My current OS is 10.9.1. I've played Starcraft 2 for some time without any problems, but there are a few newer games on the Mac App Store that look like they'd be no fun with a keyboard and mouse. I'm hoping people here have recommendations for the best game pads or controllers that are compatible with Mac.
Please let me know if you have a controller that works really well for you, thanks!

I like the Logitech Gamepad F310 for games on my Mac. You're right new games are much better with a game controller!

  • Game controller for MacBook Pro?

Are ANY game controllers made especially for Mac? I have tried the Logitech wired version and the Logitech Rumblepad 2 wireless version and neither seem to work with my G5. I even added USB Overdrive, which recognizes the Logitech controllers, and have tried to set the prefs in various games, but still cannot get them to work when the games launch. Seems like there ought to be some easy, plug-and-play game controller for Mac. Any advice? I am very computer literate, yet cannot seem to accomplish this very basic task: Hook up a game controller (that SAYS it works on Mac OS X) and get it to work. (I called Logitech tech support and they said the controllers should work on a Mac, but their driver software and their tech support do not support use on a Mac. Huh?)

  • Game controller.. no drivers?

im using an kt7266a and using the onboard avance 97 audio, i just recently hooked up my steering wheel and it says i dont have drivers for the game controller.. ive looked on my cd that came with my mobo and other places, anyone have a solution? ;(

i have a Logitech Sony Playstation 2 wheel (Driving Force with force feedback) USB connected to my PC with WinXP Pro.
OK, its a different story because mine is USB...
    BUT about yours:
    1. enable the midi/joystick port in BIOS.
    2. Create MANUALLY a wheel in WinXP. don't choose a brand/type, just create manually!!!
(also you can fill any name for your wheel)
    3. change/add functions of the buttons in Windows.
    4. enable the pedals if you want.
    5. calibrate your wheel and pedals.
    READY.

  • Is there a game controller/gamepad available for the iPad?

Is anybody aware of a gamepad for the iPad? I bought some of my favorite childhood games to pass some time on the ipad, but I gotta say the touch screen gaming experience is kinda lame. I keep touching the wrong "buttons" because my fingers can't feel the difference between them like a real gamepad/joystick. I found one company that makes a controller, but it works with only TWO games! Other people did jailbreak hacks with a wiimote. Does any company make a legitimate game controller for the iPad?

Good idea, but the iPad games are not able to change the touchscreen controls to the buttons of a USB gamepad, the games need to be compatible with it.
That's the part I wasn't aware of. Thanks for the good info.

But maybe this can help you (not a real controller but many games are compatible):

I've seen those before (but I think another company invented them, not Logitech). I'm reluctant to buy one because it relies on suction cups. I bought something called the Joystick-It by ThinkGeek, and while the idea is novel, getting the suction cup to stay in one place on the gamescreen is 99% impossible. I've cleaned, polished, buffed the screen every way possible and no matter how smooth its surface may be, I can't keep that suction cup stationary.

  • Mac mini iPhone 6 game controller?

can i use my iPhone 6 as a game controller on my mac mini?  such as racing games

I don't think I've done anything. Honestly we don't use the computer too much. I'm wondering if Image Capture 4.0 is an older version and maybe we had a recent update that made the program not work anymore.
If there is a way to use Image Capture, I'm all for that but not sure what to do. I will check out the other program after dinner!
