Logitech H390 usb headset issue

I just bought Logitech H390 usb headset, works great. Until I put my computer to sleep when not in use. Then, they do not work. Still show up in the sound settings under system preferences. I have to restart the computer for them to work again. Unplugging them does not work either.

I was experiencing the same difficulties and getting no where, when I decided to stasrt my Skype program. Lo and behold, the headset started working with my iMac.  It may have been a totally random event, but it also may be that the Skype program has some protocols/settings that interfere with normal recognition of the H390.
Its worth check out.

I've tried on 2 different PC's (both Dell Latitude's but different models) with Win7 64-bit, using 2 different H390's, with the latest Skype client.
Almost every time I receive a call, or a message, the client stops working.
If I unplug the H390, no problems at all - very frustrating!
Is it the driver automatically installed by Win7?  I've checked Logitech's support, but there are no drivers available. Is it the way Skype handles this headset, because I've had no other problems with them?  Should I simply ditch this particular model?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hello!
i have the same (very fustrating) problem with USB Logitech DZL-A-00009(B) model...
Made Skype crash often... It might not be very skype-specific problen because it misbehaves (completely mutes & silences) in other software e.g. MS Live.
    Any help or idea appreciated!
    Thanky you very much!

  • Ventrilo, Logitech Premium USB Headset 350 and System Preferences

    Hi all,
I have some troubles using ventrilo on my G5 (same problems also on a new iMac).
Ventrilo is working, I'm using it with World of Warcraft, and using it with a Logitech Premium USB Headset 350 (but the problem happen also with Logitech 250).
After some times I'm using Ventrilo, this is very random, people in Ventrilo stop hearing me. I noted that opening the System Preferences, checking the Sound panel, the Logitech is selected as sound in, but the visual signal on the panel is blank (if I speak on the microphone no signal is visualized).
What I need to do is to disconnect the Logitech from the USB and reconnect it. I need also to exit from Ventrilo and relaunch it.
Then all is working good again, naturally till this happen again (may be 5 minutes after as 30 minutes).
I've also tried to remove Ventrilo and its preferences and reinstalling it. This assuming that the cause of all this is Ventrilo and not MacOSX. But this happen also on a new iMac...
    Thanks for any help!

    Hi Croma12,
The problem is not Ventrilo - it's Logitech's headsets and the driver software.
I have had both the USB 350 and USB 250 - each have the same problem, that is, not being recognized when freshly connected. It's a trip to the Sound Preferences pane each time to reset. Often we need to toggle the Mute checkbox to make the headset work.
Even worse, 90% of the time when I connect the headset, it freezes my MacBook completely, necessitating a forced restart. Not Cool.
I've combed through the Logitech support library and discussion forums - as a company, their Mac support is very poor, and their forum moderators know very little about Mac hardware.
To make the switching of sound sources a little easier, Google for "soundsource" - it's a menu-bar widget that will sometimes enable the Logitech headset without needing a trip to the Sound Preferences.

  • Why is logitech 350 usb headset not recognized by my MBP?

I have a Logitech Premium USB Headset 350 that is not recognized (at all) by my fairly new MBP, which is running OS X Lion 10.7.5. I have run all of the available software updates but the headset it still not recognized as an input or output device (under system preferences). When I plug it into my old PC (Dell Inspiron) it is recognized immediately and works perfectly. Can you please help me with this? I really want to me able to use the headset on my MBP.
I have emailed Logitech several times and they have been unhelpful!

Either read the headset user manual or contact the vendor.  You should also try posting in the Bluetooth forum area.

  • XFCE USB Headset issue

XFCE has very annoying behavior with USB headsets.
If I plug it in and select the headset via the xfce mixer sound just continues to play though my speakers. the only way I've gotten it to play out of the headset is installing pulseaudio and pavucontrol, in pavucontrol I can go to the playback tab and select the mic per application and then it works, but this is a PIA. I have properly setup pulse audio as far as I know, with pulseaudio-alsa, alsa-plugins, and an asound.conf file.
I'd like it to play sound out of my headset in every application automatically when I select my headset in the mixer, and out of the speakers when I select the speakers, like gnome and kde do. Is there anyway to do this?
    Thanks

Freaky, but you're right, it works.  I was just in the middle of a garageband recording when my headset (Logitech, not sure on model) kept disappearing on me.  I got a message saying it was disconnected when it was not, then it would come back only to have the same thing happen several seconds to minutes later.  Finally it left and wouldn't come back.  I rebooted thinking it was up too long (I've gone ninety days between reboots easily).  No dice.  So I found this.
Plugged it into a powered usb hub and it's back.
Very strange indeed.  Have any advice on the SD card slot refusing to see the same card every few uses?  lol  I love my macbook pro but this weird stuff... it's just beyond me now!

  • X130e USB Headset Issue

I have a Lenovo X130e laptop that I cannot use a USB headset with. The system is running Windows 7 x32 SP1. When I plug the headset in, the earphone works fine but I can't use the microphone. Windows recognizes that the microphone is there but continues to use the on-board microphone. My understanding is that when you plug in an external audio device, the internal device gets disabled automatically. If I go into Conrol Panel and disable the on-board microphone manually, the USB microphone still won't work. I should also mention that the headset is brand new. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Ventrillo and USB headset issue

I recently purchased a USB headset to use with ventrillo (voice-chat software). While it is a definite upgrade over the built in mic, my friends are telling me that it is also producing a noticeable buzzing sound when I speak, which seems to increase and decrease randomly. I'm told sometimes its not too bad, and sometimes they can't hear me at all over the buzzing, which happens with no changes to the mic output. I think this buzzing problem may be caused by the external keyboard that I use, but am not sure.

You can very easily test your theory by disconnecting the external keyboard and using the built-in keyboard instead, and seeing whether the buzz goes away.

  • Audio output using Logitech Clearchat Pro USB headset sounds like chipmunks

I use a Logitech Clearchat USB headset for online meetings daily. On my previous machine (Black MacBook 2GHz) the headphones and mic worked fine. I just upgraded to a new 2.66 Unibody MacBook Pro and while the microphone works fine but the audio in the headphones sounds like chipmunks. If I switch the audio output to the speakers, the audio sounds fine.
Logitech claims that since the drivers the headphones use are built-in, it's not their issue. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this problem and how I might be able to get it resolved.
    Thanks.

' orangehat I sincerely hope you (we?) get an answer on this one! I ordered exactly the same headset the same time I did my 17-inch MBP. Still waiting for everything to be delivered - so can't say as yet whether I have the problem too. Hoping not.
' Hoping there's an answer to your question anyways so I can get an idea of things before my kit lands (IF that EVER actually HAPPENS!!!)

  • USB Headset - multiple issues

I recently purchased a Logitech 250 USB headset. The package indicates that the headset is compatible with Mac OSX. Everything worked great for the first day or two when I was only experimenting with Skype.
Since then I have had multiple problems. Sometimes I have audio but no mic. Sometimes I have mic but no audio. Sometimes I have neither, but very rarely do I have both.
The package came with no software or drivers (for Mac or PC). There appears to be nothing for the Logitech 250 headset available for download and documentation is very limited.
I have plugged the headset into every USB port on my G5, both ports on my Apple keyboard, all four ports on my powered USB 2.0 hub and both ports on my un-powered USB 2.0 hub.
On two occasions with the left port on the keyboard I got a warning that a USB divice was drawing too much power and the port was being shut down.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Is this a common issue?
Do I have a defective unit?
Any help or ideas are appreciated.

    Phil Huse-
It sounds like you have pretty much proved that it is the headset.
Apple keyboards use an underpowered USB1.1 port. It does not have enough power for something like the headset and will give that warning.
Have you tried shutting down the system and using only the keyboard, mouse and headset each on a USB port on the Mac itself?

  • USB Headset keeps frying on my T410

Hey all, So I've tried 3 different Logitech USB headsets and all 3 have been fried by my T410 ThinkPad. When I plug them in, they'll work beautifully when I have them plugged in for the first time, but when I try again, I'll start hearing weird buzzing, popping, clicking noises in the headset then poof, they no longer work and are rendered useless. This has happened 3 times now and I think my IT folks are upset with me! Is this a known issue? The Logitech headset is pretty standard/basic headset/mic combo fare. Super annoying. I want to order my own headset and not bug IT anymore but I'm afraid whatever headset I order will meet the same fate. Help!

Have you tried deactivating the "VOIP" button in Control Panel - "Smart Audio"? I needed to make that and it works well on T410 with Intel Graphics and Logitech 960 USB headset. (But the analog headsets still all worki very poor)
Also uncheck all other "audio enhancement" buttons in "Smart Audio" or "Sound" icons.

  • USB Headsets & voice chat in Second Life

I am curious if anyone else has attempted to try out the voice chat in the Second Life (v1.16) preview. I know this is a beta version and it may be a matter of things simply not working yet.
First of all, here are my hardware settings:
    • Power Macintosh G5 - 1.8 GHz, 160 GB HD (70 GB free), 2GB RAM
    • Logitech 250 USB headset
I have had the headset connected to all of the USB ports on the front and back of the G5, both ports on the keyboard and through a powered USB 2.0 hub with no change in performance or results. The headset works in Skype and GarageBand with no problems.
    Here's the issue...
When attempting to use voice chat in Second Life, I have only been able to successfully talk with other users on one occasion. Most other times, I either have no response from the mic, or no audio in the headphones.
This does not happen until I am running Second Life and attempt to enable voice chat, but the effect is system-wide once it happens.
I suspect it is a problem with the preview version of Second Life and or its voice system but I would appreciate any thoughts anybody might have.
    Thanks!

Issue is more widespread than originally thought. Re-posting in proper venue with more specifics.

  • Why can't i use my logitech non usb

why can't i use my logitech non usb headset it uses a headphone and microphone jack but i go to sound it shows up for input but not output this makes me felling like buying a pc can u help me please

Just what Logitech headset do y have? Do they say it will work with a Mac?
For rack0 tack0, can you provided documentation that
The latest mini supports the Apple iPhone headset and microphone, I.e. Both input and output on one jack plug.
    That is not discussed here:

  • Logitech usb headset not usable is some apps

The device works fine in some apps (skype) but not in others (xlite, kiax, audacity). In the apps that it doesn't work you only see the default sound card /dev/dsp. There are no entries for /dev/dsp1 or /dev/dsp2. Very strange. It's not the headset because it works fine on another computer running Kanotix.
    cat /proc/asound/cards shows the following:
    0 [SI7012         ]: ICH - SiS SI7012
                         SiS SI7012 with ALC655 at 0xe000, irq 19
    1 [UART           ]: MPU-401 UART - MPU-401 UART
                         MPU-401 UART at 0x330, irq 10
    2 [Headset        ]: USB-Audio - Logitech USB Headset
Logitech Logitech USB Headset at usb-0000:00:03.1-1, full speed

    You are not alone!!
    Same problem with Plantronics.
I just bought their Audio 648 Stereo USB Headset and have exactly the same issue you mention at the outset:
Essentially, while my [Plantronics Audio 648] Headset is recognized in the list of devices in System Preferences > Sound, it doesn't do anything in terms of outputting or inputting audio
So Apple, what are you going to do?...
A lot of third party accessory manufacturers must be getting quite frustrated at the numer of complaints they get from Mac users, when it seems its the Mac OS which is to blame...
