Logitech LX7 Issues

I'm using a cordless LX7 Logitech mouse. I'm finding the Logitech Center preference pane is unable to locate the device despite it functioning and the receiver being clearly plugged in.
Has anyone else run into a similar problem with the Logitech Control Center not being able to locate their devices?
Is there anyway to completely uninstall the Logitech Control Center?

Same. The Logitech control panel doesn't recognise my Logitech LX7.
I'm beginning to think a lot of the problems I am getting under Leopard are down to the mouse:
The cursor doesn't change from one state to another as expected. For instance, in Safari it looks like the insert cursor (like an 'I' in Times font). Even when the cursor is over a link it remains as a select cursor rather than the arrow.
Also, I can no longer select some text and drag the selection to a new position. I have to select, copy and paste instead.
Also, the Dock doesn't hide and magnify as expected. I have to click at the foot of the screen to get the Dock to unhide itself, and then magnify is stuck at the position I clicked.
Clicking menus are also problematic. Clicking a drop down menu opens the menu okay, but then I need to click AND hold any submenus. Clicking any submenus just makes the menu disappear. I would rather click the submenu and move the mouse to the sub-submenu or link and then click again. Clicking and holding increases my RSI.
None of these issues occur on my Intel Mac Book Pro.
But because the G5 Power Mac is my main machine I am finding Leopard extremely frustrating.
I sure hope Apple is reading all these issues.

  • Audition 1.5 and Logitech LX7 wireless mouse

Tried above stated mouse,  Autoscroll will not engage when looking to edit waveforms. All settings for autoscroll engaged in the mouse properties, although the Logitech program does not have an application-specific setting to change for the desired program. Microsoft, on the other hand, does. With a wired nouse I did not have to select custom properties for autoscroll, though could if I wanted choose Audition as the application and set the mouse buttons just for that ap.
Logitech support has been (surprising?) worthless. Looks like I will return that mouse in favor of just sticking with Microsoft, but wanted to check if anyone else has had Logitech mouse issues. TIA

Well, I went ahead and tried the mouse without installing Logitech drivers, but I left the Intellimouse/Microsoft drivers in place. Yes, the mouse works, though being left handed, I prefer to mouse with that hand and reverse the common click/right-click buttons. The Intellimouse control panel won't reverse them as it doesn't recognize a Microsoft mouse. Yes, I could uninstall the Intellimouse program and revert to generic XP mouse drivers, but I am getting tired of beating my head against the wall trying to make a shoddy product work. It is part of the LX-310 mouse/keyboard combo; I asked on the Logitech forums if this even classified as an LX7 mouse (the software says that's what it is, but you only see "310" on the mouse itself). Perhaps the combo package is a dumbed down version? Their tech support via phone (worthless) tried to tell me that I could select the button on the mouse and choose "1a" to specify a specific program to associate with functions. There is no "1a" visible, period. I tried one more call to them and got a person who said everyone is swamped and for me to give him a number for them to call me back, or for me to call the next day. Oh, I gave him something, but it wasn't a number He was of no help when I stated I had already talked with support and the issue isn't resolved, I wanted it escalated. Ultimately the escaltation is the location where they can place my business, and the sun does not shine there. The product is only a few days out of the box and can be easily returned to place of purchase, which it will be. I look forward to reading them filing bankruptcy, but let's not get nasty
The wired/optical Microsoft mouse works exactly as needed, with autoscroll a no-brainer in Audition. By chance does anyone know if some of the newer Microsoft wireless/laser mice are more precise? Editing is, in fact an exact science; I was (and probably still am) a master with magnetic tape and a blade, I can prove I am the same in the digital medium as well.

  • Logitech LX7 Mouse

I have a problem associated with the right mouse button. When I right click on my 3D program I get a tray with the finder and open apps icons. This prevents the execution of the action I want to carry out in the 3D program.
This only happens on the Mac Pro, not the G5 or Mac Mini.
I downloaded the Logitech control center and tried to change the command for the right button, but that didn't help.
Also went to Sys Prefs-Dock & Exposé, no help there either.
    Thanks

I am having similar issues with the LX7. I found that these issues are usually fixed by unplugging and replugging the USB receiver. Though, it is still a hassle and it continues to affect productivity.

  • Logitech Keyboard Issues with Fast User Switching

I'm running OSX 10.4 on an 800 MHz iMac, and using a Logitech Cordless Navigator keyboard. The keyboard's main feature (for me) is the ability to have the function keys (F1-F12) automatically open applications and folders and such. When I have multiple accounts running though, this feature seems to be tied to whichever one I first logged into. If I switch accounts and try to use one of the keyboard shortcuts nothing happens where I am, but when I switch back to the original account I find that the keyboard has opened the program there. The keyboard types fine in the new account, and I can even change the preferences so the function keys do different things in the different accounts, but the extra functionality seems to be only available for whichever account logs in first.
I realize this may just be a Logitech bug, but any ideas how to fix this? (Also even though I'm the only one using my computer this seems like a mild security issue, if theoretically another user could activate programs on my account without the password.)

    Logitech support is frustrating:
    Dear tajmahall14,
Thank you for your recent inquiry about your Keyboards.
I understand you are having issues with the settings for the function keys becoming non-functional when fast switching from one user account to another.
Depending on the system configuration, the Fast User Switching may or may not work. Unfortunately this is not an issue I can address. You may need to contact Apple to see if they have a possible solution to your problem.

for a few weeks now my keyboard isn't fully working any more. showkeys and xev do not detect my meta4 (right/left windows button), any of the G-buttons or the menu button (right next to the right windows button) any longer. i have no idea what really changed. i suppose it's a kernel issue and i'll probably fill a bug report if no one can shed any light on my issues here. i also got a (maybe related) issue with the g15daemon as well:

Yup. Disable of the 3.0 controller is going to reduce that external HDD to 2.0 speed. Please open a ticket with MSI Tech Support and let them know of what looks to be a compatibility problem with that particular keyboard.
    http://Http://support.msi.com
Well it didn't work. My external hdd didn't even show up under computer with that setting disabled.
I've tested the keyboard on another machine so I know it's just a compatibility issue with this machine.
Just trying to narrow it down to what and where.

  • Bluetooth Logitech headset issue

    Dear People,
I just got my Toshiba Protege 4010. Great machine, everything works right away. Except for my Logitec bluetooth headset (HS02-V07).
In the Toshiba bluetooth menu i select to add a new connection. It starts searching and finds the headset. Then the pairing starts and after typing the password it says this service is not supported.
    My Specs:
    - 'Bluetooth stack for windows by Toshiba v4.00.01(T)'
    - 'Windows XP Professional SP2, version 2002'
I checked several websites that claim that toshiba laptops with build-in bluetooth from after mid 2003 should support this service. So mine should too...
    Any suggestions?
    Kind regards,
    JT

    Hi
Had a little of the same problem.
basically I cured by firstly removing the Bluetooth from Add/Rem programs in control panel.
next d/load the latest Bluetooth stack etc.. from toshiba website and install.
When you have done this and have the bt icon at the bottom make sure the BT radio is enabled prior to setting up any connection. Then add the new connection for the headset and password.

  • Bluetooth mouse skipping

Has any one run into an issue where their mouse cursor would skip. ie. you go to point at a link and suddenly the cursor ends up at the bottom of your screen, or the far right or left, anywhere but the place you originally had it at without moving the mouse. Or even as your moving it for that matter.
I just noticed this happening recently when I boot my system in 64-bit mode. Doesn't seem to happen when I'm booted in 32-bit mode though. Normally I'd say this was a driver issue with 64-bit, but it just started happening the last couple of days, I've been booting my system in 64-bit for almost a couple of weeks now. I'm using the Logitech LX7 wireless mouse. I've downloaded the latest driver from Logitech, replaced batteries, turned off and on (which actually helped for a little bit), and reset the mouse, still no go. It's not all the time, but enough to make it very annoying after a few minutes designing. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Failed. Started skipping again soon after my last post. Been waiting for Logitech to get back to me about a solution. However, I'm thinking it may not even be the mouse itself, I think it's because I'm booting in 64-bit mode. I tested my brother's mouse on mine (same model, and he's had no issues using it on his G5 running 10.5.8) with no luck. Skips too.
I guess I have to wait for Logitech to get back to me on this one.

  • Every app (incl system/finder) becomes non responsive on right click.

    Hello,
I have a mac pro 2008 and have the recurring problem that occasionally after booting up my system everything that I right-click becomes unresponsive (activity monitor says the app is 'not responding') and I get the little apple beachball animation.
This happens with every app i right-click, for example right-clicking the desktop = Finder unresponsive, same happens with Mail, Firefox, Safari, iTunes, Tweetie for Mac, any app i run.
Also bizarre is the fact that while the one app is unresponsive the rest of the system continues to work as expected, for example Finder is unresponsive but I can still switch spaces, surf the net, listen to iTunes...
A reboot usually fixes this but it is still annoying to get this rather frequent error.
Do you guys have any ideas whatsoever what this could be and how i could fix it?
PS: Hard drives have all been verified, permissions have been repaired and no errors whatsoever in those processes have been found.
The bootdrive also has 61% free space (1TB drive) and has recently been defragmented (the issue happend before the defrag as well so that is not the cause).
A hardware test ('d' key pressed during boot) has also found no errors.
    Thanks in advance,
    and thanks for reading.
    Kindest regards,
    Jannis

    Hi carolyn,
    Thanks for your response.
I actually just installed a new mouse.
It happend while I was using the Logitech MX1000 and it continues to happen with my brand new Logitech RX Revolution that I just installed a couple of days ago..
So either it is a gernally Logitech related issue or independant of the mouse.
    Thanks again either way!
    Kindest regards,
    Jannis
PS: i also switched ports but that made no difference unfortunately.

  • Solved My left and right arrow keys are not working

I just installed gnome (been using kdemod) and now, while in gnome, my left and right arrow keys are not working. Please help me solve this. I am not using compiz.

    Hi!
I had that problem with Debian and later Arch, after I messed something up (never found out what). There was a chaotic but easy cure though (I've got no idea, why it did that on 3 different installations the exact same way - might be a logitech-keyboard issue or something... me-as-user-related)?:
    - do all keyboard changes needed in xorg.conf NOW, had to repeat "strange steps" after each change.
    - add new keyboard layout (no changes to default) in gnome keyboard settings
    - delete old keyboard layout
    - browse trough the keyboard layout "previews" of the newly added layout until it crashes (this step might be optional *g*)
    - restart gnome, add "new new" layout, delete "new old" keyboard layout, and set the "new new" layout right (try evdev-manages first, then switch to youkeyboard/yourlocal if that didn't do it).
    good look!

  • Decouple trackpad and mouse scrolling?

I am using a Magic Trackpad and Logitech LX7 on a MacPro 1,1 running Lion.
I have tried (using System Preferences for mouse and trackpad) to revert the scroll wheel action to scroll in the "old" direction but when I try that the trackpad scrolling direction also changes.
Is there a way to decouple the scrolling direction of the trackpad and mouse wheel?

I am with you both too. I like natural scrolling on my trackpad, but not on a scroll ball for a mouse. The only solution I can find is what someone else brought up in a different thread: there is an app called "Scroll Reverser" that lets you choose which input devices (mouse, trackpad, or tablet) are reversed. Be warned, it is quite confusing to get set up. At least it was for me. But It is working fine now and is just what I wanted.
    The link is http://pilotmoon.com/scrollreverser/
p.s. if this solves your problem, don't forget to mark your problem as "Solved" so others can find the answer too.

  • Logitech wireless mouse issues

I know there has been quite a few threads about problems with Logitech peripherals not working properly with Yosemite, and I have read them all.  I figured I would throw this out there see if anyone has had this specific issue or any solutions.
I use the same logitech M325 usb mouse and receiver on 2 different macs. The mouse and receiver work fine on my MBP 15" retina, even after upgrading to Yosemite.
On my Early 2009 Mac Pro, the problem cropped up on the second day after the Yosemite upgrade.  Without the Logitech Control center software, any mouse click would bring up the dashboard.  the cursor would move but I couldn't select anything. After I installed the latest Logitech Control Center software, I can use the mouse and buttons, but the "hover" function does not.  I hide the dock on my desktop and I have to click on the side near it to make it appear rather than just moving the cursor like I did previously.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the LCC software, tried uplugging and re-plugging the receiver.  Nothing fixes it.
I find this strange since that seems like it ought to be a function of the system software, not a mouse driver issue. When I plug in my old hardwired apple mouse everything works as it should.  It's been a few weeks now, and I haven't seen any updates from apple or logitech.....
Has anyone had any more luck getting their mouse to work correctly?

I am having similar issues with the LX7. I found that these issues are usually fixed by unplugging and replugging the USB receiver. Though, it is still a hassle and it continues to affect productivity.

  • Issue with Logitech MX1000 - losing reception - base is only 2 feet away...

I made the move to the MBP about 2 weeks ago after being a sole windows user. I'm now having an issue using my logitech MX1000 mouse on here and was hoping someone could give me an idea as to what is going on. Now and then I will just lose reception. Clicking becomes unresponsive and the movement is choppy to the point where I cant even move around. Other times it is perfectly fine. This appears to not be an issue when I boot into windows - only os-x. Is anyone else seeing this issue?

Hi, I have a Logitech MX1000 mouse, which is an outstanding device, but I’m using it with my Linux box.
What I’m curious about (and asked earlier without getting any answer) is whether this wireless mouse is actually a Bluetooth compatible device? I’ve always used it with its own base station, and I have assumed the wireless protocols it uses were proprietary.
Are you using the base station or are you connecting to it from the Mac directly using its wireless capability with the Mac’s Bluetooth interface?
    Thanks.

  • Issue with Logitech Bluetooth mouse

    Hi everyone!
I have some problems in correctly configuring my Logitech v270 bluetooth mouse. I followed all the steps in http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bluetooth_Mouse, but I still can't connect automatically at startup. Each time I boot my laptop, I must type
    /etc/rc.d/bluetooth stop
    /etc/rc.d/bluetooth start
at the root prompt to get it work.
Please note that I also completed this step: I added to my /etc/rc.local this line:
hidd --connect <enter here your bluetooth mouse address (No capitals!!!)>
    Some ideas?
    Thank you!

Same issue,  been a problem since I purchased last Christmas.  Sometimes I want to throw this piece of crap out and buy a mac.  Lenovo, get your head out of your ass.

  • Connectivity Issues regarding Logitech C920 Webcam and Windows 8.1

Recently, I purchased a Logitech C920 webcam. Successfully downloaded Skype (most recent version 77.85) and passed the microphone and speaker test. My current version of Windows is 8.1 (64-bit) The speaker and microphone application for Skype is online and passed. However, the webcam application for Skype does not connect. In addition, the Windows Camera application for Windows 8.1 successfully works. All three capabilities of the Windows camera application works: sound, recording and camera connectivity. I was able to sucessfully to download the latest version of the Logitech Webcam Software for the HD Pro Webcam C920. After rebooting Windows, I was able to load the Logitech C920 icon and corresponding executable to the desktop. However, all webchat applications besides the Windows supplied Camera application have issues with the Webcam connectivity:
    Yahoo Messenger
    Skype
    Paltalk
    Logitech
After downloading the Logitech executable, The Windows 8.1 is still unable to detect C920 webcam. With the Logitech Webcam Software, it just doesn't detect it at all. The whole thing is just black or blank. I know the camera is functional though, because it works perfectly fine in the Windows 8.1 Camera app. Any assistance and help regarding this issue will be greatly appreciated.

    Try the install
    3. Go to the start screen (you may also press the windows key + R to open the run box) and type %WINDIR% this should show the windows folder.
Click on the folder and scroll until you see files. Look for a filed named "HPWINS*.DAT" (the * is for a number that varies) remove this file and try the installation.

  • [SOLVED]mupen64plus and Logitech Dual Action Controller mapping issues

I'm trying to configure mupen64plus with a logitech controller (via m64py), but for some reason the main control stick doesn't map properly.  Any other axis besides the main axis maps to the correct "axis (3+)" and "axis(3-)" position, but for some reason the main control stick maps to "hat(0 left)", "hat(0 right)", "hat(0 up)" and "hat(0 down)".  When I try to load mupen64plus, it then gives an error saying that direction hat(0 up) and hat(0 left) are unknown directions and correspondingly, the two directions on the controller don't work.
I've tried re-defining the axes for axis(0+) and 0-, but that does not seem to do anything.
I have also tried switching from xpad to xboxdrv to see if there might be an improvement, but xboxdrv doesn't even detect the controller.
Does anyone have some suggestions for configuring this?  Any help is appreciated.

I ran jscal from the terminal with
    jscal -c /dev/input/js0
Strangely, the inputs for the '+' pad and the main analogue stick seem to be switched, i.e. the analogue stick only returns values of +1, 0, -1 for its axes and the + pad returns values of 1, 128, 255 for its axes... the other analogue stick returns the 1,128,255 axis values which makes sense since it's sensitive to amount of deflection.
I tried the SDL_JOYSTICK_DEVICE setting.  That made the program detect a different joystick, however the configuration has the same issues as before (i.e. it's detecting the same joystick as being a different device, but the configuration is the same as before)
