Logitech mouse started to lag after connecting Apple Wireless Keyboard

Hi,
I'm using Logitech Anywhere MX mouse with Logitech unifiying reciever on my iMac and everything was working perfectly fine until I have
recently bought an Apple Wireless Keyboard. For some reason after connecting the keyboard to my iMac my mouse started to lag.
I'm not sure how this is connected to each other as keyboard is bluetooth and mouse is wifi but at this stage I wish that my cable keyboard
would never broke.
My whole Mac OS X software is up to date and so are the Logitech drivers (Control Center). Is any of the users expriencing such issues ?
Any advices ?

Thank you for your reply, I have repaired the device but it didn't helped, but switching USB ports seems to do the work, although not sure why Anyways - thank you very much!

I've got bluez and bluedevil installed under KDE4.
The daemon is running and I've modprobed btusb, bluetooth, hidp, and l2cap.
Under bluedevil I have successfully paired the trackpad, so I know that bluetooth is working.
The keyboard however only shows up for a few seconds when I press the power switch on the keyboard and then disappears. It never works.
However, when I go terminal and type:
hidd --connect 00:00:00:00:00:00
(where 00:00:00:00:00:00 the keyboard's btaddr is), it connects and works immediately.
I've found a bunch of workarounds online to connect Apple wireless keyboards, but they seem to have been written for quite old versions of the bluetooth software.
Does anyone have a clue, how I could make it connect properly through bluedevil?

yup... same prob i had when i got the keyboard but i knew i didn't have it so i got a usb adapter... i would try this one -- D-Link DBT-120-- i tried another from Best Buy and it freaked the G5 out?!!? i wound up losing other usb peripherals because i think it was drawing too much power?!?! not sure but when i unplugged it, everything else started working again?!!?
i went back to the original wired one! you can always search for the actual bluetooth combo card but they run about $250... but it is an internal hardware upgrade, so no usb port stolen by an adapter?!?!

Computer cannot discover my apple wireless keyboard.

I watched the youtube show about how to connect apple wireless keyboard to pc, and I did it step by step. But pc can't dicover the keyboard.
The keyboard is able to connect to ipad and iphone.. so it is turn on as "discoverable".

Sorry to hear about your trouble connecting the keyboard. What version of operating system do you have? You are trying to connect it with bluetooth correct?

Apple Wireless Keyboard and Mighty Mouse

I've seen several posts about the new Apple Wireless Keyboard losing connection. After searching through the forums trying to find what I have discovered, I've decided to start a new thread. Basically, I've found a way to reproduce the "random" disconnects of the keyboard.
Open up your favorite text editor, create a new blank document, and strike the 'Return' key with some force. Shortly after doing so, you will notice your green light come on, and a brief connection lost message on your Mac. Seconds later, your connection will reestablish. Perhaps I have some sort of faulty keyboard, and this just happens to have the same symptoms that other people are experiencing, however, I'd like to see if any others have the issue. Of course, it is most likely not just the 'Return' key. Really any keystroke with some force behind it will cause the keyboard to temporarily shut off and lose connection.
An annoyance that brought me to really find a solution for this issue is that after my keyboard reestablishes its connection, my Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse starts to have issues. The movement along the screen begins to get choppy, and clicks are not always registered correctly, much like if there were some major Bluetooth interference with the device. The momentary disconnect I can deal with, because it has little to no effect on my typing. But when it also messes with my mouse, causing me to have to turn it off and on again, it does cause some considerable downtime.
Does anyone else notice this phenomenon? Also, if this is already being discussed, please point me to the appropriate thread.

I have the exact problems with the original poster. The keyboard I think by now is a given, as I'm typing now with the USB connected keyboard I can see the Bluetooth icon intermittently flashing in & out with that little lightening bolt & I have it off?? Why would it still register connections if I turned it off??
What I don't get is the Apple tech guys are normally really good at saying, "Ok here's the problem, we're on it or heres this fix" & I've notice no type of response, except the usual, "Run script, login on a dummy account or get Cocktail or Onyx" after reading several posts on this same subject all the "go too" answers have been tried.
C'mon Apple tech fix this problem already!!

Apple wireless keyboard, mouse and trackpad battery management is SO MESSED UP! HELP!

I have like 2 dozen batteries that I have swapped in the days since 10.8.4. The **** thing just drains in like 4 days. I am using apple wireless keyboard and mouse/trackpad (either at a time) with my macbook pro that is in closed lide clamshell mode less than a feet away from these devices. the batteries are draining like crazy! 3-4 days! they used to work for like weeks! i have heard in another thread that there is some bluetooth driver issue.
i know many of you would come up with things to check for like other wireless devices, etc. but like I said i have been using this since 2011 and only now since 10.8.4 they have gone crazy!
whats even more weird is that i dont think the batteries are really draining. its something to do with the battery management hardware/software that fails to see the power inside. when i remove the currently dead battery and put in one that was indicated having 0% charger i get a magically 50+ % sometimes event 80! a reboot and the figure is something else! since this is happening with all the three input devices i think its something to do with macbook pro.
any fix?

SOLUTION:
Put the devices in "Manual paring mode"
1. Turn device off.
2. Push and hold in power button until the LED starts flashing on and off.
3. Try the paring procedure.
4. It should work.
I went to the apple store and this is what they did. They got the trackpad paired no problem, but the keyboard would refuse to make connection. At first they blamed windows and didn't want to replace the keyboard because it worked fine under OSX. However I made them try one of their keyboards and it paired fine. So they ended up swapping out my keyboard for one of the newer ones and now it pairs with both windows and OSX with no problem!

Apple Wireless Keyboard (2007) will not connect

I just got an Apple Wireless Keyboard (2007 aluminum) and it will not connect to any computer that I have tried it on. This is at my work, so I have multiple machines to try it on. I tried it on a couple MacBook Pro's, and several different Mini's.
When I start the Bluetooth Setup Assistant and select "Keyboard" and click continue, it does not find anything. ( http://screencast.com/t/Pev6sLaH )
If I then turn the keyboard off and then back on it will find it. So I click continue so that it can pair with is and it fails, saying it was not discoverable. ( http://screencast.com/t/D0SNKMDR )
If I turn if off and then back on while it is trying to pair, that does not help.
Is the keyboard just DOA? Or am I missing something? I have read the users manual, searched the Apple support KB, and Googled for an answer but found nothing. I am thinking it might just be a bad keyboard but wanted to check here first.

Just to follow up as of today the key board is now paired.
Go figure why one day it will not work then the next day it will.
After reading many of the comments here there must be some sort of software issue with Snow Leopard.

Constant Problems with Apple Wireless Keyboard & Mighty Mouse

My Apple Wireless keyboard constantly loses its connection with my Mac Mini (I have brand new batteries and the latest firmware update) but it is sitting directly in front of it!
I can get it to work when I go to sys. pref., delete the keyboard, and start the set up assistant. However, once I get the keyboard working this way the Mighty Mouse beings to move insanely slow!
Please help me, I bought these two products because they were directly from Apple and I just assumed they would work great with my computer.

If you are near an Apple store, take both products in - they can test them there. If you are not near a store, call Applecare (since your products are still in the one year warranty). They may replace one or both.
A third possibility (one you do not wish to hear) would be the BT module itself having a problem.

How to connect several apple wireless keyboards to one imac? Ive got 2 apple keyboards that I want keep and use in different rooms (have more screens connected there). I manage to connect my logitech edge keyboard and mouse in addition to the already connected apple magic mouse and apple wireless keyboard. But it does not seem as if the imac will accept another apple wireless keyboard?

I have not had a similar problem so I am fishing a bit. I think the problem is rooted in what I thought in my previous post.
Now, how to fix it?
Try this:
Go to system preferences>bluetooth. Delete any KB entries there. Trash a preference file (com.apple.bluetooth.plist). Be sure that on and discoverable are checked in the BT preference pane. Restart your computer.
Hopefully, whatever KB you have turned on will be "discovered."

Apple wireless keyboard and magic mouse disconnecting

Just bought new MBP Retina Display (OSX 10.8.2) to replace 1st Gen. MacAir. Used to use Apple Wireless Keyboard and MM on old Air and worked flawlessley for years. New MBP installed both of these older items (keyboard and MM) cleanley when I set up, but almost instantly, after about one minute of working, the keyboard and MM disconnect themselves and the only way to reconnect is power them off and then power back up. I have hanged the batteries on both to high end ones and they are still holding charge very wel.
In my office I have a work PV that also uses two USB wireless devices for the PC keyboard and mouse and then also a small HDX Jam Bluetooth speaker. Also, my iPhone and iPad are around. My Airport Express is about two feet away from the MBP as well. Again, all of these worked just fine with my Air for over five years.
I took the MBP, keyboard and MM into the Apple store and had them check it out. Of course it worked perfectley while I was there, plus I learned that in my new MBP the wireless card has the bluetooth built into it and unless my wireless connections got wonky, then the chances of it being hardware were slim.
I am so out of options. I have tried to identify all environmental factors. I have tried moving the MBP closer, further, etc. and still nothing. It is the wierdest thing and now getting very frustrating because I am having to use the MBP keyboard all the time and it is supposed to be up on a stand and in a more ergonomically friendly position.
Anyone got any suggestions? Is there something I am missing? Is there something in my environment I am unaware of that could be contributing to this?

I have a 15" MBP Retina display from 2012, Lion 10.7.5, running lid closed with bluetooth mouse and keyboard. My desk configuration has not changed but in the last couple of weeks I get both devices disconnecting simultaneously, once or twice per day. The dashed bar disappears from the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar.
I turn bluetooth off and on (lift the lid, using keypad), and then it all works again. I don't need to even touch the mouse or keyboard they instantly reconnect. It is not the magic mouse battery problem, I've suffered through that and have it licked, and that would only take out the mouse. There's nothing obvious in the system logs. No change I know of in nearby electrical appliances or WiFi configuration.

First when I set up Bootcamp everything worked fine. But now suddenly the keyboard is lagging (letters sometimes appear after a few seconds or get stuck and typed 20 times or something) and randomly completely disconnecting.
I already downloaded the newest drivers for Boot Camp 64bit from the apple website, but this didnt solve my problem.
I tried disconnecting the keyboard on mac and then reconnecting on the Windows 7 partition again. Also didn't work.
Of course I had to reconnect the keyboard when on the mac.
But it's not that it's not working. I'm using the keyboard via Bootcamp right now. It's just that it's randomly doing this...
Now I don't know what to do. Do some of you have the same issues or have any ideas that might help?

Do you get a steady green light to say there is a connection. If not, are the batteries the right way round. Do you have a monitor to tell the batteries strength. Is there a reading. Are the batteries good quality ones, Duracell, Energiser or Apple rechargeables.

i've been using Apple Wireless Keyboard and Magic Mouse on the iMac since Sep 2009 and they both worked well until one month ago, after cleaning the wireless keyboard, some of the function keys on the top row didn't work anymore while the magic mouse couldn't scroll left/right. it's really frustrating. how can i resolve this problem?

The battery reading anomaly is a known problem (began with OS X 10.6.7) and has been reported to Apple through channels. As an aside, I use the mighty monitor widget which seems to give correct readings.
