Logitech MX900 Mouse & Solaris 10 x86 results in "Postattach failed for..."

This USB-Mouse will not work with Solaris 10. I have the bluetooth-set Logitech DiNovo
keyboard and MX900 mouse. As seen in the following logfile, the keyboard is recognized and
the device is created, but the mouse fails. So i have to use my old dusty ps/2 mouse
with this nice keyboard as a workaround.

  • Logitech MX900 mouse problems

    Morning all,
picked up a Logitech MX900, pairs a treat and basic buttons work, however, I can't get the other buttons to work using the standard built in drivers and it does not report battery status or its name in the mouse and keyboard preferences panel under the Bluetooth tab.
How can I get the other buttons to work? Do I need extra software? Is there a Logitech driver for Mac?
    Cheers,
    Chris

    Chris,
I'm using the same mouse with my macbook. The other buttons will work as expose buttons out of the box, go to system preferences and select expose\dashboard settings. If you want them to work as back\forward buttons, you have to use a usb input mapper, look into the software Controllermate or SteerMouse for OS X.
You cannot get a battery status from your logitech bluetooth mouse into the macintosh mouse preference pane and cannot rename it.

  • Integrated Security results in Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON' after code deployment

Sometimes, when we deploy new code to the server, we're getting the following error:
Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'
we're using windows authentication and in our connectionstring use integrated security.
Only after restarting the server, the application can connect to the DB again. restarting IIS or recycling the application pool doesn't help.
Our application pool is configured using ApplicationPoolIdentity and we would like to keep it as such.
Any idea what we can do to prevent this error from occurring almost every time we deploy code?
    Thanks

  • Solaris x86 with card on-board

    Hi all,
I got a problem when installing Solaris9 x86 on ibm NetVista Machine.
I have installed 2 other machines with separated network card sucessfully. I can configure to connecto to my LAN network.
But when install on 2 ibm NetVista machines (which include onboard network card ), It is fail to be configured to connect to the network in both following cases:
Case 1: I choose proper driver as Sun suggest for Intel VE Pro(R) 10/100 : iprb. And the Solaris detect successfully. I checked by "ifconfig -a" and saw the network card active on "iprb0".
Next, I following correct instructions to configure the network card to connect to the LAN. But when i ping IP (9.187.186.18) to other computer in our same subnet LAN,
The system display eg: "No anwer from 9.187.186.18"
I run the "snoop" command to view broadcasr ARP in an other terminal. The snoop terminal displays ARP signal boradcasting from the Solaris. However, it can nerver get ARPs from other computer in LAN.
Case 2: I add 3COM network driver to the solaris ( onboard card is no loger used ). The system can auto-detected this card and i can configure to connect to the network. The problem remain unchange.
Is there any special in IBM Netvista machine need to be configure under Solaris x86 or any particular configuarion for on-board network card. ???
Can any boy help me to solve this problem ??
    Best regards,
    Thang,
    Vietsoftware Developer

However, it can nerver get ARPs from other computer in LAN.Are you perhaps running "snoop" on a box different from the one that you're trying to ping, and are you using
a switched ethernet? In that case it would be OK if you only see the ARP broadcast, because the ping target
box will send the ARP reply directly to the MAC of the requesting station (i.e. there's no ARP broadcast reply),
and an ethernet switch will send the ARP reply directly to the port where the station with the given destination
MAC is connected - no other port should see the reply.
If you're trying to ping 9.187.186.18 from the new Solaris x86 box, try to run snoop on the 9.187.186.18
system. 9.187.186.18 should see the ARP broadcast from the LAN, and the 9.187.186.18 box should list the
ARP response it sends back to the LAN.
Is there any special in IBM Netvista machine need to be configure under Solaris x86 or any particular
configuarion for on-board network card. ???I guess the interrupt handler for the NIC is not working, so the Solaris x86 sees no incomming packets.

  • Logitech MX900 Bluetooth Optical Mouse Retail

I was going to buy the: Logitech MX900 Bluetooth Optical Mouse Retail but it says it's designed for Windows XP but nev er says anything about Mac OS X. Would it still work with Mac OS X?

I was less the thrilled with this mouse- when it worked, it was sweet, but it frequently disconnected when idle, and its recognition on the Windows side of Bootcamp was about 30% of the time. Continually having to run through the bluetooth detection was tedious to say the least. I've been much happier with a logitect wireless USB mouse, which works every time (and is much cheaper).

  • Initialisation problem with Logitech Mx900 Bluetooth Mouse

    Dear all,
I have a recent problem with the initialisation of the Bluetooth connection at startup with my Logitech Mx900.
The system fails to connect with the device. I have to go to the bluetooth pane (with the USB mouse) and to make a search in order to get the connection.
    This is very disturbing issue.
I have seen quite the same topic with an intellimouse. Is there some general issue with 10.4.4 or Bluetooth firmware?

Well, I got it working, sort of.  The normal buttons and the scroll wheel work as the should.  The browse back and browse forward buttons do not work.  The tilt wheel works, with tilting right acting as the browse back button, and tilting left acting as browse forward.

  • Mounting a Solaris x86 CD/DVD from a remote Windows CD/DVD-ROM drive

    Greetings, all.
Is it possible to mount a remote Windows CD/DVD-ROM drive? I have the Solaris 10x86 Companion Software DVD sitting in a CD/DVD-ROM drive that's installed on a Windows server on my network. It is shared-out (F:) and the two servers can ping each other. I've also confirmed the NFS services/daemons are running on the Solaris x86 machine. I've tried the following variations but, all have failed to produce successful results:
    # mount -F nfs x.x.x.x:/f /mnt
nfs mount: x.x.x.x: : RPC: Program not registered
    nfs mount: retrying: /mnt

I've also tried mounting it at bootup by adding the appropriate entry in the /etc/vfstab file but, this does not work as well. I've tried Google'ing for an answer to my issue but, I haven't been able to find anything that applies directly to what I'm reporting. It's usually chatter about mounting from one UNIX server to another. Any advice from the community would be greatly appreciated.

After three weeks, you deserve a reply. Windoze does
not natively support NFS.Also deserves a decent answer...
There are two ways to do this:
Install Microsoft's free "Windows Services for UNIX," which includes a Windows NFS server; or
Install the 'sharity' package (google for it); it provides Solaris systems the ability to mount Windows shares

  • OS 10.8 just installed. "Hot Corner" to put new iMac 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5  to sleep mode doesn't work. Have tried cordless and corded mouse with same result. Momentary sleep, immediate wake. Any idea how to fix?

Set "hot corner" to put iMac to sleep.  Doesn't work.  Selecting the corner will momentarily put to sleep, but immediately rewakes.  Have tried all four corners with same result.  Have tried with wireless mouse and with corded mouse with same result.  Any ideas as to how to fix?

You've been so great, I want to thank you for all the help over a very frustrating day.  Last evening, I redownloaded and installed the fresh copy of Mountain Lion.  The problem remained.  After installing the new OS 10.8, any clicks on a web page (Firefox browser) didn't open the page, but instead made a copy of the page on the desktop. Felt it must be hardware  degrading, so I set up a case with Apple support for today.  Early in the diagnostics, I had swapped out for a corded mouse and the problem remained.   As a last try, I changed out my wireless mouse for a different wireless mouse. That seems to have done the trick. My Logitech mouse is incompatible with OS 10.8.
    Thank you again, so much!

  • Mouse stops, computer freezes. this problem occurs with any mouse: bluetooth, wired, and a spare logitech wired mouse.  iMac 0S10.6.8

Help! Mouse stops, computer freezes. Restart helps for a while, then mouse doesn't respond. Problem occurs with my 4 "mice" - bluetooth, apple wireless, logitech wired & microsoft wired. Any solutions?

    Problem solved!
First, the underlying cause MAY have been an unusual circumstance: a smartphone (Galaxy Android) was placed next to the iMac, turned on and with Bluetooth enabled, and left for hours to charge.  Could this proximity have resulted in the Mac getting some strange Bluetooth input?
Fix:  Using the temporarily-installed mouse and keyboard, I removed the existing Bluetooth keyboard and trackpad entries. (I just removed every Bluetooth device.)  Then I used the standard procedure to re-pair the wireless keyboard and trackpad.
After removing all Bluetooth devices, I could not get the Mac to detect any Bluetooth devices until I restarted the Mac, at which point device detection and pairing worked flawlessly.
My best --and admittedly ignorant, sketchy-- theory:   Some mal-formed event got stuck in the Bluetooth input stream, causing the trackpad up and/or down states to be hyper-sticky.  That event couldn't be cleared without removing the originating device and re-pairing.

  • Oracle 8.1.5 Client/WLS/Solaris x86

has anyone been able to get Oracle's client 8.1.5 running on Solaris x86 in conjunction with WLS to talk to back-end Oracle? Any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks.

This will not work. We have not built the native libraries to work with
    Solaris on Intel..
I suggest trying the platform independent type 4 JDBC driver available for
free from Oracle. It is supported (as is any JDBC driver) with WebLogic
    Server. To download it:
Go to http://www.oracle.com and select the "Download" option.
From the resulting page, use the "Select Utility or Driver" dropdown to
    select Oracle JDBC drivers
From the resulting page, scroll down a little (since SQLJ stuff appears at
    the top).
    Or, to go directly there:
    http://technet.oracle.com/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/software_index.htm

Interestingly enough, the same thing happens in Windows on my U46E - the Synaptics driver recognizes the touchpad only as a PS/2 mouse and two-finger scroll won't work.
Edit: The elantech module you posted fixes the problem on the U46E, too. Thanks! Now to fix it for Windows...

Oracle Instant Client was a "feature" introduced with Oracle 10g. There is no 9i version.
Code that links with Oracle 9i libraries should be able to be linked with Instant Client 10gR2.
The resulting application will be able to connect to databases from Oracle 8.1 onwards.

  • Re: RAC installation in Solaris x86 (VMWARE)

    Hi,
I was trying to install Oracle RAC in solaris x86 via VMWARE tool . I installed node1 and node 2 but when node 1 running , unable to start node2 ,
showing error " failed to open virtual machine node-2 locking of attached media failed "
    Result code: VBOX_E_INVALID_OBJECT_STATE"
I am feeling that this is happening due to shared folder but how to resolve?

  • SAP on solaris x86 or sparc

    Hi,
Can you please let me know the advantages of running SAP on Solaris X86 or SPARC machines. Which is recommended?
    Thanks
    Joyce

    > If the compnay has very few end users to work on SAP i.e. less than 50 users, then x86  is suited.
    > FOr large ended systems that is for large number of users to work on SAP, SPARC is better choice.
    > SPARC is recommended.
I'm sorry but this is simply not true.
x86_64 is VERY suited for big systems, we run x86_64 systems with 1000+ users, on Solaris and on Linux.
Solaris on x86_64 is a very good choice, a mature OS with lots of features (zones, ZFS...) running on affordable hardware.
SPARC is a RISC architecture, there are even drawbacks in performance if you use e. g. T-series systems (UltraSparc) for ABAP systems and databases (see Oracle Metalink ID 781763.1 - "Migration from fast single threaded CPU machine to CMT UltraSPARC T1 and T2 results in increased CPU reporting and diminished performance").
So it's a matter of taste and choice - and money.

  • Install Java on solaris x86

Hello - I am connected to one Solaris x86 machine remotely. It does not have GUI in it and only command line execution. I would like to install Java on this machine. Can you please provide me the link where I can get java and instructions to install it - I surfed in previous topics - But no result found
    Thank you!

    Java is built-in.
Or you can download a new version from java.sun.com on a different machine and then sftp it over to the Solaris box.
