Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro For Mac - Supported in iMovie 09?

Hi,
Does anyone know if the Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro For Mac http://store.apple.com/uk/product/TS665ZM/A works under iMovie 09 for video capture? i.e can you record video directly from the webcam into iMovie 09?
Thanks

Bearable but sub-optimal workaround is to record with QuickTime Pro and import into iMovie.

  • Logitech Quickcam Vision MP for Mac not completely working

    Hi,
I got a Logitech Quickcam Vision Mp for Mac from an Apple store, but it's not completely working.
It works fine for iChat and Skype. However i doesn't work at all for iMovie, it says there is no camera atached, and it kind of works for Photo Booth. The problem is that I also have an EyeTv Hybrid, and
when it is connected, Photo Booth doesn't recognize my web cam at all. I get a black screen. If
the EyeTv Hybrid is not connected, then Photo Booth recognizes the web cam, but if I try to record
I only get video and no sound. Any suggestions? Is there a web cam that works for all the applications: iMovie, iChat, Photo Booth? If I got one of those old external iSight cameras that Apple doesn't sell anymore, would it work with my new intel Mac running Leopard?
Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi,
I just purchased and connected my camera, also from the Apple store, and it works just find with Photo Booth and iChat. As for the sound issue, make sure that you've selected the "Logitech Camera" selection from within the Sound option under System Preference. Click the Input button to make your selection. I hope this resolved your issue.
    Good luck!!!

  • Help- Using IChat 4.0.5 with Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro w/Mac Pro 10.5.4

Our only child just went away to college, so we bought a Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro because it was supposed to be plug and play. He has a MacBook with the built-in iSight camera. We have a Mac Pro, so had to buy something in order to be able to communicate using visual/audio over iChat. I chose the Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro because it was made specifically for Macs and was supposed to be plug and play. It had good ratings, as well, and since the original iSight camera wasn't available anymore...
We tried communicating tonight, and he couldn't see us at all, but could sometimes hear us. We could see him, but not hear him at all. Both of us are on broadband connections. He is using Tiger and we're using Leopard.
So, I tried communicating with a friend using a G5 Mac who had an iSight camera and running Leopard. She was able to see and hear me, but I could only see her, not hear her. We went through all my preference settings, using text messaging, and they all seemed to be fine. She suggested that I call Logitech, which I did.
The guy I spoke with at Logitech had me go through all my settings, and he said they were fine. It appears that the camera is sending video and audio, but I can only receive video, but not audio. I tried using headphones, internal speakers, and external speakers (plugged into the headphone jack). No joy.
    Any eye deers?

    Hi
First have you set the Quicktime streaming setting, goto sys prefs/quicktime/streaming/streaming speed, set to 1.5mbps
In ichats prefs click on video and change bandwidth limit to 500.
    Restart iChat.

  • Which Logitech webcam is better - C910 or Quickcam Vision Pro for Mac?

The C910 looks like the better cam on paper and I read that Logitech just released full drivers for Mac, but others say the Quickcam is the best one for Mac users.  I am running 10.5 on my MacBook and 10.6 on my i5 iMac, and would like to be able to use it on both.

Bearable but sub-optimal workaround is to record with QuickTime Pro and import into iMovie.

  • Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro as a Flash webcam?

I need a webcam for my Mac Pro. I'm currently running Leopard but plan to upgrade to Snow Leopard soon. I'm looking at the Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro, but I've read reviews that say it works well in applications like iChat and Skype, but isn't recognized as a webcam by Adobe Flash Player for use on Flash chat websites like tinychat.com and stickam.com. I really need a webcam that is recognized and compatible with Flash Player.
Can anyone with a Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro confirm whether it works through Flash player on sites like tinychat or stickam? If not, can anyone recommend a webcam that works well on a Mac for Flash-driven sites like these?

    Question
In order to use a a webcam on your Mac OS X computer, your Logitech camera must be UVC (Universal Video Class) compliant. These standard UVC drivers are provided by the operating system and will provide minimal camera support only. This allows your webcam to operate on your Mac using third party Instant Messenging applications such as Yahoo IM and MSN. There is no support for other applications such as iMovie or Final Cut Pro.
Currently, Logitech does not provide additional webcam software drivers for Macintosh to allow advanced features such as RightLight, RightSound or Video Effects.

  • IMovie 8 doesn't recognize my Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro

I have iMove 8 and just bought a Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro. When I brought up iMovie, it wouldn't recognize the camera. What preference did I forget?

    Try http://www.bensoftware.com/btv/index.html for capture.
Also try requesting more support with http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net/ in the forum.
As for quicktime and ibooth, they seem to just make the cam go dark and stay dark until the cam is unplugged and put back in.
This thread gives some hint as to why :
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1749742&start=0&tstart=0
" The Mac OS only has the default Universal Video Drivers (UVD) for most any USB based video camera." The cam does show up as a Logitech device, just very dark with any Apple app.

  • Drivers for QuickCam Vision Pro for Macinstosh

    Hi,
    I first purchased a Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 (http://tinyurl.com/cboyme)
even though it didn't claim to be Mac compatible. It did in fact work with
    my Mac (10.4.11) and PC.
Using the PC software supplied I was able to zoom it in and out on the PC
(also able to adjust brightness and other camera functions). I decided that
the zoom feature was nice and came across what I thought was the Mac version
of the camera, QuickCam Vision Pro for Macintosh
    (http://tinyurl.com/au32hm).
This camera came with no software and also works on the PC and the Mac.
Before I return the new camera which is $30 more expensive then the first
cam, is there any way, or drivers etc I can download so that I can control
some of the camera features on the Mac?
    Thanks

  • Logitech Quick Cam Vision Pro for Mac not working in iChat.

Whenever I try to use iChat with my Logitech camera i get either a message saying "there is no camera attached" or "another program is using the camera". Rebooting helps for a while and it will work, but if I open Preferences then the problem arises again. Unplugging the camera and replacing it is no help - even bypassing a hub and plugging directly into the computer. The audio works fine and the mic choice is the camera's - no problem. Skype video also works perfectly. This seems to be a problem ever since I upgraded to Snow Leopard - I never had this problem before.

    Hi,
Prior USB 2.0 and UVC compliant Cameras there has always been problems with Logitech cameras and their Drivers.
There were two third party Drivers for Macs that could be used and the iUSBCam utility.
However Broadly speaking UVC compliant cameras working over USB 2.0 and Snow Leopard have seen iUSBCam fall in to the Unsupported on Leopard group.
It seems that some of the Pro variants of Logitech cameras are still having issues with the Mac OS in Snow Leopard.
The Windows Vista Driver for UVC is/was fairly feature rich in what you could adjust/access about the camera settings.
The Mac version implemented at OS 10.4.9 is less frilly.
Some cameras are 1.3mp but ichat only uses a max of 640 X 480 pixels pics (0.3Mp) and it is unlcear if some cameras will allow this to work smoothly.
I would also try a PRAM reset.
    Shut down the computer.
Restart it holding down APPLE(or ⌘)ALT+PR Keys until you have heard three Start Up Bongs.
This may reset things further/deeper than a reboot does.
Based on historical evidence I would suspect the camera's side of the UVC implementation not allowing a proper step down to lower pixel sampling.
Of Course it could be the way Snow Leopard does this or the UVC driver in itself (although both seem to work with other makes of cameras)

    OS: latest Lion 10.7.2
    Issues:
The above webcam no longer has an audio channel when recording is done using the QuickTime application.
Switching over to the latest iMovie '11, when I click on the camcorder icon, it says "No camera connected"
Going to AboutThisMac>MoreInfo>Hardware>USB>LogitechCamera> says it is recognized by the OS at the device level.
Any ideas what is going on?

  • Anyone using Logitech Quickcam 5000 Pro with OSX??

Is anyone successfully using a Logitech Quickcam 5000 Pro with their Mac? The specs say a WinTel machine is required, but I'm wondering if the camera/microphone functions will just plug-and-play on a mac even without the Logitech software...
    Thanks,
    JAG

Thank you very much for your post; I went out and bought this webcam after reading about your experience. I can confirm that the Logitech Quickcam 5000 Pro works with my G5 (2 x 2 GHz) and iBook G4 (1.2 GHz). I purchased it at Best Buy on sale for $60; every one they had came in the MS Vista & ©2006 packaging. I initially had problems with it working with my G5, but it had no problems working with my iBook. I eventually traced the problem on my G5 to a screwy Tiger installation (I had been having weird USB2 issues for quite a while in fact), and after I reinstalled Tiger, the Quickcam 5000 works just fine on my G5 too.
As for application compatibility... the camera is recognized without me needing to install a driver when using Skype, Yahoo Messenger, QuickTime Pro, and HackTV. However, when I try to use it with iChat, iChat always claims the webcam is busy - from all the other posts it seems iChatUSBCam should allow the camera to work with iChat. I personally haven't tried it because I use Skype to video chat with my GF (who uses a PC and the PC version of Skype). It's a little choppy, but I think it's because I'm on cable and she's on DSL. Also, I'm willing to live with some choppiness to use a $60 webcam instead of paying the ridiculous $300 it takes to buy an iSight on fleaBay nowadays.

  • Acrobat X Pro for Mac fails to scan double-sided

    Hello All,
I am having trouble in scanning double-sided through Acrobat X Pro with a Canon MF4880dw installed on an iMac with Mountain Lion.
Here is the procedure I follow:
File > Create > PDF from scanner
in the box "Sides", I select "Both Sides" and check the box for "Prompt for scanning more pages".
When I scan the first side of a multi-page document, I am prompted to indicate whether the scan is complete or I want to scan more pages, but I am NOT prompted to indicate whether I want to scan the other side!
Turning off the option "Prompt for scanning more pages" has the only result of completing the scanning procedure without asking anything else...
I found the following note on the on-line help of Acrobat,
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/X/pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7f71.w .html
Note: You can scan both sides of pages even on scanners that do not themselves support two-sided scanning. When Both Sides is selected, a dialog box appears after the first sides are scanned. You can then reverse the original paper documents in the tray, and select the Scan Reverse Side (Put Reverse Of Sheets) option in that dialog box. This method produces a PDF with all pages in the proper sequence.
This is indeed what I have always done on a Windows 7 computer with Acrobat 8 and a Samsung multifucntion printer, and never ever had any problem.
In fact, I believe that the printer model is irrelevant, as this is an internal setting of Acrobat, and that this is a bug in the Acrobat X Pro for Mac, which must be fixed.
Does anyone else have the same problem?
    Thank you,
    Salvatore

    Dear Mamak,
    Many thanks for the note.
I followed your advice and dowloaded new drivers for my Canon MF4880dw.
The filename was different than yours, because the model was different.
However, I noticed that this last version I downloaded is pretty new (released in April), so I was hoping it would fix the problem. Also, it was the same file for all versions of Mac OS X from 10.5 through 10.8.
Unfortunately, no luck: Acrobat still does not ask me to scan the reverse side. Maybe I should have uninstalled the printer before reinstalling it?
I more or less solved the problem by scanning double-sided documents on Acrobat 7 for Windows (which I also have installed on my Mac), which is not optimal, but at least works.
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you again,
    Salvatore
