Logitech S530: Broke my MacBook Pro

I hooked up my new Logitech S530 today. Then I used the install CD to load the drivers. Only some functionality for the keyboard and mouse. So I went to the Logitech site and downloaded LCC212.dmg. It went though it's install and when finished, I told it to restart. Now my MacBook will not boot.
Now what? Suggestions as to what I might try to get my computer working again would be appreciated.

John

Do you try to start your MacBook without S530 keyboard/mouse connected ?
By the way, you should not use new version 2.1.2 of LCC. It appears to don't work at all for a lot of people (maybe everyone).
Try older version 2.1.1 : ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/mouse/mac/lcc211.dmg
And as LCC use and install Unsanity Application Enhancer (APE) and last version 2.1.2 install a new version of APE which seems to have a bug with Rosetta and slow down Intel based Mac.
You should manually uninstall APE after uninstalling version LCC 2.1.2 and before install version 2.1.1.

  • Logitech Wireless Mouse and MacBook Pro

    Greetings.
I'm thinking about buying a Logitech wireless mouse for my MacBook Pro. The mouse comes with a USB wireless card. Will I need to use this or will the wireless/bluetooth card in the MacBook pick up the mouse by itself?
    Cheers,
    John

I don't understand your problem. Is it that you can't see the arrow or what? You say the button and all work fine so I am stumped by your question. I have problems with my mouse being recognized by the MBP but I just turn off mouse, restart laptop then turn on mouse and it comes back up. If I ever put my MBP to sleep I shut the mouse off first and wait until it says mouse disconnected or whatever it says..I can't recall. Then I put the MBP to sleep. Once I wake it up turn mouse back on and voila..works!! Maybe try pushing the little "Connect" button on the bottom of the mouse that might help. I have never tried that but just a suggestion.
Sorry if this is all confusing.

  • Lavolta Charger May Have Broke My Macbook Pro

I have a Macbook Pro 2009, and my Apple charger broke around 8 months ago. I purchased a cheaper one from Lavolta, it died but when i went to purchase an official Apple one, i saw the reviews on the Apple website and was put off. It seemed the cheap ones had as many problems as the official ones, so i purchased another Lavolta charger thinking 8 months isn't too bad for £30.
However, after a week it suddenly produced a spark when i inserted it into my Macbook Pro. The charger stopped working and i inserted my brother's charger into my macbook which powers it but does not charge it. His charger is an official Apple product and works on his macbook. I also swapped batteries but both times, the batteries did not charge.
I reset both my PRAM and SMC, but nothing has solved the problem so far. I'm out of Applecare warranty but would like to solve this. Have you got any ideas?

You can also ask the company if they have your machine in stock.  You may want to get a portable LCD screen to go with you separately and just attach it to the MacBook Pro.  Preferably a screen that supports DVI or better.  If it is back at the factory being matched up with a part, see if you can get it recalled faster so you can get the external screen added yourself.   2011 and later MacBook Pros all support Thunderbolt, mini-Displayport, and mini-Displayport to HDMI or DVI adapters.  Granted it won't be as elegant as being attached, but that way you might not be waiting as long for a part that might be hard to find.  Especially if it is out of normal warranty.

  • Can't Install Logitech MX1000 Application onto MacBook Pro

    Hi,
I've installed the logitech mx1000 wireless mouse software onto a macbook pro, but the setup won't run. I get a message saying that there is no application associated with the software. Any ideas?

There is no universal binary available yet for the Logitech drivers. Logitech has stated that they will deliver them shortly.

  • Screen broke on Macbook Pro?

Hi I have a original macbook pro 15" (2 and a half years old) and the screen has just stopped working! I was on it about an hour ago and everything was fine. Just went to turn it back on now and I can hear that it is on, but the screen remains black.
I have tried powering down a couple of times and waiting a few minutes before turning it back on again but to no avail.
I generally don't have many problems with it despite its age, except it overheats quite a bit.
Does anyone know what this might be caused by and how I go about fixing it?
    Appreciate any help, thanks!

  • 802.11n Broke My MacBook Pro

Since I installed the 802.11n enabler software yesterday, my mac has hung up on my about a dozen times, and the problem is getting worse. I can no longer use my MBP if my airport is turned on.
This has happened while being connected to the Airport Express, as well as while being connected to a new Linksys 802.11n router and and old Netgear 802.11b router. It works fine for a few minutes, and then Internet dies, followed by application hangs, and then, the whole computer hangs.
I have tried putting it in sleep with no luck (it's won't sleep). I tried to open the Activity Monitor, and it won't open. In the end, I have to do a hard reboot.
Has anyone else had this problem? I would love to find a fix, but if none is available, at least some information on how to remove the enabler package?

  • Need help! Attempting to Upgrade to Mavericks broke my MacBook Pro

I'm in need of help.  I'll try to give all the info I can.
I have had this MacBook Pro for at least 4 years.
I had been running 10.5 for a long time without issue.  At some point, I set up a dual boot with Windows XP.  I'm not sure why I did this.  It seemed like a cool idea at the time.  I rarely ever used Windows... But I liked having the option.  It worked very well.
Years went by.  No issues.  A few months ago I tried updating itunes and realized I needed 10.6 in order to do that... so I bought a Snow Leopard disk and successfully installed the upgrade.
Past few months I've been running 10.6.8 without any issues.  Dual booting into Windows XP still worked.  No issues.
Then today I realized that installing to 10.9 through the App Store was free.  Sure why not... so I tried installing the upgrade... It downloaded, rebooted, started installing and then quit.  Something about my disk being corrupted or something.  It suggested i reboot my machine, back up my files and try installing again.
Unfortunately, now when I tried booting, it was giving me a grey screen with a circle and a slash through it instead of the Apple logo... and then it would immediately boot into Windows.   It wouldn't boot into OSX at all.
I tried booting into safemode and it would just sit at the green screen (apple icon showing) and sit there for hours.  NOthing would happen.
I tried booting via my OSX Snow Leopard disk and doing a repair disk and it's not allowing me to.  Any ideas?

It doesn't really make sense for the drive to suddenly fail.  I don't even think Mavericks fully began installing... it downloaded the file, rebooted and then said that the install failed.
The drive is set up with 2 partitions.  One partition for Mac OSX and the other for Windows XP.   I'm still able to boot into Windows XP without any issue at all.  Doesn't that suggest the drive itself might be fine?  I wonder if the attempt at installing Mavericks messed up some files on the MacOSX partition?
Here's what I've attempted to do...
I tried doing Shift + Cmd + V and this is the last few lines of code it gives me:
    ** Root file system
    Executing fsck_hfs (version diskdev_cmds-491.6-3).
** Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume.
    Invalid extent entry
    (4, 0)
** The volume could not be verified completely.
/dev/rdisk0s2 (hfs) EXITED WITH SIGNAL 8
    fsck failed!
    Kext loading now disabled.
    Kext unloading now disabled
    Kext autounloading now disabled.
    Kernal requests now disabled.
    Can't get kextd port.
    syncing disks... Killing all processes
    continuing
I used my OSX 10.6 (snow leopard) disk to boot holding C... this allowed me to open up disk utility from the utilities menu.  Within Disk Utility, I see my Mac OSX partition drive... When I click "Verify Disk" it gives me an error saying "Invalid extent entry.  The volume could not be verified completely.  Error:  This disk needs to be repaired.  Click Repair Disk"...  When I click "Repair Disk" I get an error that says:
"Verify and Repair volume "Macintosh HD"
    Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume.
    Invalid extent entry
The volume could not be verified completely.
    Volume repair complete.
Updating boot support partitions for the volume as required.
Error:  Disk Utility can't repair this disk... disk, and restore your backed-up files."
    And a popup that says:
"Disk Utility stopped repairing "Macintosh HD"   Disk utility can't repair this disk.  Back up as many of your files as possible, reformat the disk, and restore your backed-up files"
.... Is there anything else I can do?  Again, the second partition (on the same drive) that I have called "Untitled" is home of my Windows XP partition.  I'm having no trouble booting into Windows XP...
NOt sure what I can do from here.  It seems the attempt to upgrade to Mavericks messed some stuff up.  I am merely guessing that this is due to my drive having two partitions (one for Windows).  I guess it's semi plausible that it was just a complete fluke and the drive randomly got corrupted after 5 years at the exact moment I attempted to upgrade to Mavericks, but I find that highly unlikely.

  • HT202124 Is plug in a USB wireless receiver (Logitech Unifying Receiver) prevents Macbook Pro Retina going to standby mode?

As the title implies, is this prevent Macbook Pro Retina (Mid 2014) from going to standby mode? It's not convenience to unplug the wireless receiver every time I don't use the notebook though.

That kind of panic can be caused by an adapter for an external display that isn't connected to anything. See this thread.
There are also reports that the panic may be triggered by waking an external display from sleep. To test that theory, open the Energy Saver preference pane and click the lock icon to unlock the settings, if necessary. Move the Display sleep slider all the way to the Never position on the right. See whether there's any change.

  • Will my wireless mouse and keyboard(pc...Logitech) work with my MacBook Pro

I'm wondering weather or not my pc mouse and keyboard( wireless....Logitech) will work happily with my new MacBook ? Never had a mac before so this may be the first if many dumb questions

They will ... I know from experience.
But also be warned that those devices operate at 2.4 GHz usually, and will fight a 2.4 GHz wirless network signal.  Sometinhg will lose and will behave erratically.
Having a 5 GHz network available is a very good idea.

  • I broke my macbook pro screen, where can i get a reparation of it , and how does it cos ?t

Where can i get a reparation for the screen of my mac book pro ? and how does it cost ?

Cost will depend on where you are ... in Toronto, there are at least five places advertising on Criags List that promise to replace a screen in 15 mins (if it is in stock) for $100. (I have never used the service myself.) However, it is very unlikely Apple can do the repair, the MBP is too old, and if they did the cost would be comparable to the cost of a new MBP.
While waiting for the screen to be fixed, have you considered hooking up an external monitor? It's not portable, but it will work on your desk.

  • HT204210 10.10.2 just broke my macbook pro's wifi. WTH apple.

Wifi router worked perfectly with my macbook before 10.10.2.  Right after wifi will not work after restarting and wiping everything, my mac, the router and modem, my mac's wireless connection
is it an issue with the update? did they roll out and update to fix wifi connections which only did not fix wifi issues but caused NEW issues? quite disappointed and am hoping they can either roll out a new update to fix this soon or can just somehow allow us to go back to the old version where the wifi works.  Wifi networks work 100% with my un-updated macbook air too.

Wifi problems under Yosemite are common for many users, including myself. Since installing Yosemite, I have frequently had to refer to the following solution. This has successfully resolved the problem for me on every occasion, although is a pain in the backside I have to admit.
    http://osxdaily.com/2014/10/25/fix-wi-fi-problems-os-x-yosemite/
For me 10.10.2 has hugely improved Wifi reliability. I've only had one failed connection, but I do feel your pain.
If all else fails, as a last resort I would suggest performing a clean install of OS X and see if that helps.

  • OS X Mavericks has broke my MacBook Pro - help...

Last night I downloaded the Maverick software update and when my compete was attempting to restart the screen went all distorted (green and greys).
I've since turned off and turned on my mac 5 times and the same issue occurs before even displaying the log-in option.
Please help and like I've mentioned there is nothing I can do with apps / software / settings as it won't even display the log-in screen.
Does anyone know what to do? Experienced this problem before?
    Thanks

You could help by telling what HD you have, is it RAID? what Mfg? Is it a WD MyBook?
You can use disk warrior for data recovery, not all have got data back, in which case all metadata is usually lost

I purchased the Logitech F310 game controller for my 2011 MacBook Pro. How do I get the driver installed for it. The Disk that came with the controller is a mini disk and will not insert into my laptop.

May not make a difference anyway. The Logitech support site does not show drivers for Mac OS for the F310:
    http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support/gamepad-f310?crid=411
I'd contact their support to find out if there is a Mac driver available, and if they can either give you a web link to get it, e-mail you the software, or snail-mail you a standard-size disk with the drivers.
