  • Creative X-Fi Titanium PCI-E (Digital Output)

    Hi,
at the moment I'm using an onboard chip from Realtek. And the only way to get 5. Sound trough my Digital Output (DVI-Slot of my Zotac 8800GT) is when playing a?DVD-Movie or somthing similar. I only get stereo sound, when playing games.
Now I'm interested in the "Creative X-Fi Titanium PCI-E Retail". Can this Soundcard pass the sound through my Digital Output (DVI-Slot of my Zotac 8800GT) in 5.. Or is it a general problem, that 5. Sound of Games can't be pass trough Digital Output?

The Creative X-Fi Titanium PCI-E supports Dolby Digital Li've and DTS Connect which will allow you to have 5. audio from your games via S/PDIF out.

  • Creative Sound blaster X-Fi Titanium and Logitech z-5500 5.1 speakers

    Hi All:
I have had the Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium and Logitech z-5500 connected to my HTPC system for some time now. I have the two connected with analog cables and an optical cable. Unfortunately, I have never been able to set the optical connection working. The only mode the speakers will work in is analog.
Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions regarding this?
    Thanks,
    Harold

I have the same card and the same speaker.
You need to enable DTS or DDL encoder in the Creative Control Panel.
Otherwise you can play only native digital track like DTS or DDL from DVDs or BDs (in this case you MUST select Digital output device as the default device in the windows audio control panel)..

  • Static Pop Upon Playback of "What U Hear" SB X-Fi Titanium PCI-E

    Hi,
I've spent a great deal of time over the past couple of months trying to resolve this problem with no luck. If someone can provide a solution I would be most grateful.
    System
Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium PCI-e with latest Creative drivers
    Windows XP Pro SP3
ASUS P5KC with Intel E8400 with latest BIOS and chipset
ATI Radeon HD6450 with latest drivers (HDMI Audio disabled)
Logitech Z-5300 5.1 Channel Surround Speaker System
    PROBLEM
When recording is made from any source using "What U Hear" source the original recording is flawless. However, when I playback the "What U Hear" file there are brief (.5 second) bursts of static that occur about every 2-5 seconds.
    FAILED EFFORTS
    1. Uninstalled and reinstalled all Creative drivers and programs.
    2. Disabled ATI Radeon HD6450 HDMI Audio.
    3. Installed latest Microsoft LifeCam VX5000 driver and turned it off in Audio devices.
    4. Uninstalled various other sound related software -- Toshiba Bluetooth, Anysoft Video Recorder.
    5. Disabled all optional background programs -- antivirus, PLEX, etc.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
What U Hear recordings have worked on this system in the past.
Thanks in advance for your assistance!

    Johnny,
    Thanks for the reply.
I have the X-Fi Titanium installed on a test system. I am not getting any of this crackling sound. Do you hear crackling noise during the recording process?
There could be other factors that may contribute to the crackling noise. If you have not already done so, it would be advisable to contact our Customer Support for further assistance.

  • Digital Audio w/Logitech Z-5500

Try as I might, I can't seem to get any digital audio out of the Mac Mini to my Logitech Z-5500 speaker system. I don't have the same problem with analog audio, just digital. It is my understanding that the combination of digital out directly from the Mini and the decoding built-in the Logitech should work ... maybe I am being a bit optimistic.
My current configuration is that I have the Mini connected directly to the Z-5500 control panel with a TOSLINK cable with the appropriate 3.5 mm adapter which I got from the Apple Store.
Here's what I tried so far with no success:
o Played several store-purchased DVDs, with known Digital Dolby and/or DTS audio tracks via Apple's DVD Player. I have also verified that the DVD Player was configured to use the "Digital Out - Built-in Output" setting for Audio output. The Z-5500 control panel shows a "No Digital Data" message. (To verify that the DVDs were good, I also played them from a Vista PC that was connected to the same Z-5500 speakers -- no problem.)
o Played music/movie sources from iTunes, knowing that I would be exercising QuickTime for audio output. Knowing that QT doesn't support digital natively, I have installed Perian. Within Perian, I have tried all the Audio Output options (Stereo, Dolby Pro Logic, Dolby Pro Logic II, & Multi-Channel). Still getting the "No Digital Data" message.
o Next I tried reconfiguring the Audio Output setting in Audio MIDI Setup. I verified the Source was set for Digital Out, and tried each of the Format combinations that were available. Still getting the "No Digital Data" message.
o Finally, I tried the com.cod3r.a52codec.plist "hack," creating a new variable named "attemptPassthrough" and setting is value to "1." Same message.
So, I must be missing something and can certainly appreciate any words of wisdom from anyone with similar experiences with the Mini and the Z-5500.
    Thanks in advance.

No problems. Any/all advice is truly appreciated.
So the PC can play audio through those speakers? That's a clue. Can you see the settings that PC is using to talk?
Yes, the PC can play any audio source (games, DVDs, Media Player, etc.) digitally to these speakers. The primary difference that I can think of is the PC employs a Creative Xi-Fi Fatal1ty Platinum PCI card which is Dolby Digital Live capable for encoding whereas I am using the encoder(s) (DVD player, Perian, etc.) on the Mini.
Did you look at the "Configure Speakers" button in Audio Midi Setup to verify that it is configured for multi-channel output?
Hmm, you may be onto something here. Yes, I did check to see that the Audio Output was set for Encoded Digital, but I didn't confirm multi-channel under Configure Speakers. Selecting this option and going to the Multichannel tab will only allow me to select "Stereo." All the other selections are grayed-out. In addition, when I do select "Encoded Digital" for Audio Output Format, both the Default & System Output windows display "Unknown device" instead of "Built-in Output."
Are those cables Apple branded? Something about the length of the mini-plug on some brands IIRC.
I believe so. I did get them directly from the online Apple Store. They're approximately 3' in length and off-white in color. Part number on the Packing List was given as: TL955LL/A and their description was: XTREMEMAC TOSLINK OPTICAL AUDIOACCS
    Thanks again!

    how should i configure it's
In my previous Realtek audio card i had an option for "speaker fill" and then i got good surround (but not with optical connection).

  • Surround Mix with Logitech Z-5500 Digital

    Hello,
I have a project for a 3D animation short movie, and I'll also make the score and sound effect for it, to make a DVD.
I don't have Logic Pro yet; I have Logic Express.
Is it possible to use a Logitech Z-5500 Digital set to do the surround mix with Logic Pro ? Using the optical digital out ?
I have a very limited budget, so I'm looking for the cheapest solution possible, with the best possible sound.
I'm waiting for a Mac Pro 2.66 with an ATI graphic cards (for Motion and 3D).
    Thanks.
    G4 1.42Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

can't you pick the surround soundtrack in the control bar that is displayed close to the bottom of the movie window when you start one in iTunes? If theres no surround track, it cannot be done, furthermore, the speakers must be run from a surround home theatre receiver. Messing around with it on one of my desktops, I can choose the surround channel, but since it only has 2 built in speakers, I obviously won't get 5.1 (L/R front, center, L/R rear, and subwoofer). I agree iTunes should have preference that surround is automatically decoded when a surround track is available much like it's a preference in DVD player. I still haven't figured that one out.

  • Titanium PCIe SB0880, analog 7.1 and upmix films 5.1- 7.1

    I have:
    - Creative X-Fi Titanium PCIe sb0880 (purchase march 2009),
    - Drivers and software from Daniel_K last 3.0a version (08.25.2014),
    - Acoustic system 7.1 with ampliefer (without audio processor, there no hardware mixing of MultiCH stereo and so on as reciever),
    - Analog connection between the amplifier and soundcard (3.5" miniJack).
In theory, which works in Windows XP (or worked before, I used it until 2010) for my soundcard, upmix from 5.1 ac3-track to 7.1 (5.1 -> 7.1 with adding 2 sides virtual channels from mixing by X-Fi built-in decoder) must be as follows:
In my Windows 8.1 driver's Decoder tab is missing. I tried to install a different versions of the driver (Official and Daniel Kawakami) with complete cleaning system (with registry entries and ultimate uninstall) but in vain — desired options don't appear. I have found these support posts:
    - No Decoder Option on Sound Card
    - Suggested Setup to Perform Decoding with your Playstation 3
Then similar posts on this forum:
    - Decoder tab missing with latest X-Fi driver
    - X-Fi: Decoder tab missing?
There staits that now decoder option is not available in Titanium driver — use the Cyberlink PowerDVD soft. It really works (with software Cyberlink audio decoder in PowerDVD):
But how to use the Cyberlink decoder for other players? Or maybe there are other ways to get the same result with Dolby Pro Logic IIx software decoder or with enabling built-in Decoder tab in my driver?

Thank you for your clever response. I've been using this set.
In Media Player Classic (K-Lite Codecs Pack) when playing a movie from a multichannel track there is activated ffdshow audio decoder (mixer 3/2/2 - 7 channels + LFE):
When playing a 5.1-tracks don't work 2 side speakers (Side ch.), the decoder shows the following information:
When playing a 7.1-track works all speakers, and the decoder shows, all working good:
Perhaps the only required setting Media Player Classic and ffdshow audio decoder, to achieve this. While I solved the problem by copying the sound signal from rear channels (Surround/Back) to the side speakers (Side ch.) by mixer in ffdshow. But this is only a temporary solution (russian language interface):
PS: Creative's CMSS3D and DTS Neo:PC just makes upmix 2.0->5.1/7.1 (very impressive!) but never 5.1->7.1...

  • XFI and Logitech z-5500 connection for DVD film: analog or co

    Hi
I already read a lot of posts here but not found the answer.
My question is: in order to watch DVD movie, which is best connection
for Logitech z-5500 to show true surround sound: Analog or digital by coax?
In other words, we will let XFI decode DD and DTS or make XFI to pass through to
    Z-5500 to decode itself?
    And why?
    many thanks and best regard.

Either way will work, but the problem with using the X-Fi as the decoder is that in order to get the correct LFE level, you must use the +5 dB LFE boost; however, this can only be activated when bass redirection is switched on. Since the Z-5500 system has its own bass management, using two crossovers spoils with the linearity of the low frequency region. So for that reason, I tend to use the Z-5500 decoder. It would be nice if Creative could separate the LFE boost from bass redirection in the next drivers, but I guess that won't happen.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS + Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Volume is TOOO low. PLEASE H

I have an Audigy 2 ZS and Logitech z-5500 5. speakers. Everything was working fine and one day the volume was reduced to/0 of what it was supposed to be. The speakers are connected with analog cable (yellow/black/green) and all the connections are right (it was working before). I had the same problem when I installed the sound card at first, I just installed the drivers and the volume was way too low. I went to EAX Console and changed a few options and BANG, volume was normal. Some options on EAX will just make the soundcard stop working, like POP will work but ROCK will mute the sound completely (is it a crappy software?). Now I have the same problem, it works but it sounds like a walkman. I tried removing the drivers and installing it again several times, tried system restore and absolutely nothing works. Next step is re-installing windows and exorcising the sound card. Has this happened to anyone out there, I haven't seen any problems like this yet. Thanks

  • Need Help Configuring Audigy 2 ZS w/ Logitech Z-5500 Speaksers (Pre-bundled from De

I just received my Dell XPS Gen 5 system that I configured with the Audigy 2 ZS and Logitech Z-5500 speakers and as others before me, I can't get them configured to work together. My support tech at Dell is working on the issue, but I haven't heard from him yet. From reading the posts in this forum and others across the Internet, I am not alone in getting the sound card and speakers to work.
So far I purchased the digital coax cable along with the /8" mono-to-mono miniplug so that I can plug the coax cable into the back of the sound card's digital out connector/din.
The logitech control pod shows the input as Coax, but that there is no digital signal being sent to it. I also have no sound from the speakers.
I've read various ways to fix this issue, some of which talk about changing the sound card settings and dvd software settings (Catherina, the administrator for this forum posted some stuff); however, I don't know where to do this in my Creative software. One of the posts says to go to Start/Programs/Creative/Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS/Creative AudioHQ and click on the Device Controls icon and then select the Decoder tab and change the SPDIF settings or something. I don't have a Decoder tab as an option. I do notice on the Bit Accurate Mode tab that the section for S/PDIF input signal monitoring shows that the S/PDIF-In signal is an "Unknown or invalid signal."
Could someone please tell me specifically what I need to do and in what software (Creative, Logitech's, my DVD software) to get this set up? Again, all I've done is hooked up the Logitech control pod to the sound card's digital out via a digital coax cable. I haven't done anything else other than upgrade the Creative software.

  • Please Help! Audigy 2 ZS coaxal conection to Logitech Z - 5500

Please help! I can't connect Audigy's digital autput to speaker's digital input, - they are different. I have a coaxial cable with mono plug, it fits to digital input of the speakers but doesn't fit to output of the audio card, because the card's ouput are most complicated (stereo or some else). I thoudgt i found the way out. I used an adapter thet transfers signal from one stereo plug to two mono plugs - right and left. I attached stereo plug of the adapter to card's digital output and one of two plugs from other end to the digital input of the speakers. So get the soud, but i though suspect thet i don't get full-fledged sound, after all the second channal is inactive, and if i swap right channel to left the sound differs.
    How can i get full 5.1 digital sound Audigy 2 ZS / Logitech Z - 5500

<SPAN>i am 00% sure everything is connected correctly. When I use the Creative SB audigy 2 ZS software to test the speakers, on the "channel" buttom, i only hear sound coming from ?front left? and ?front right?, the rears and sub have no sound, I have set to ?6 channel? on the speaker control pad, and have set to 5. on Audigy 2 ZS, I had tried to disable the decoder from the sound card, but the problem still exist.<SPAN> When I set the speaker control pad to ?direct? effect on ?6 channel?, and test with the Audigy, I can hear ?front rightcenter?..all working, but when I listen to MP3 and CD, there are no sound come from the center speaker (on windows xp pro), But when I listen to MP3 and CD on Windows 98 (I have 2 systems installed on my computer), sound come from all speakers.<SPAN> Therefore, I believe that the sound card has problem running on Windows XP pro.

I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM I CANNOT CONECT THE SPEAKER WITH optical cabel.
WHY ? HELP ME PLEASE !!!!
I buy Optical TOSLINK gold cabel and conet him to sound card, and to the Digital SoundTouch? Control Center, then turn on, and do nothing the control center will not detect the conection over optical cabel.
on display its this: Input: DIRECT 96-24
i dont know what do ?
its reqaied a special conector cable to the audigy or what ?
( i enable in windows all digital conection )
( maybe its wrong the conector on sound card, or in sound control center, i buy 3 others cables and nothing )
PS: sorry for me english its not main language i from slovakia

You say you have the Direct input selected? That's the wrong one. There is a button on the remote that says "Optical" you need to press to switch to optical input.
You are using the optical output on the Audigy dri've bay aren't you? The digital output on the back of the Audigy soundcard is not an optical output, it's for digital coax.
