Logo in eps but need to convert to jpeg
Hi -
I don't think iPhoto has the ability to change an eps file to a jpeg, but maybe I am missing something (?). I have a logo that was designed and saved as an eps file. I am trying to upload the file to an online biz card site but they only deal with jpeg. A friend converted the eps to jpeg but apparently it is now too small now for the site. Any suggestions on either resizing the jpeg ( keep trying to adjust the size of photo in iPhoto up to the min specs of the site but no luck) or a way to convert this file?

This is to confirm that Preview can import and convert an .eps file. As for enlarging it Photoshop (and probably Photoshop Elements) can enlarge it. Microsoft Word can also scale it up nicely without pixelation. Just drag the .eps file into an open Word document, double click on the logo and scale up in the next window.

Trying to print a book :-/ but need to convert to CMYK
Using lightroom 5 to create a book. In a tutorial for lightroom I was instructed to use raw format when taking pictures but now that I am talking to printing companies, I am informed that I need to convert those images to CMYK. I did this in photoshop illustrator, but when I import back into book in Lightroom, they are reconverted to RGB. HELP, please!!!!
Lightroom doesn't output CMYK. You could create the book pages, export them as JPEGs and then convert the whole book pages to CMYK, if you're using a printing company who can't handle RGB files.

Please help! I SAVE AS: .jpg but it somehow converts to .jpeg.
It all started happening after I installed a program called GIMP image editor. I played with it a bit then saw that when I used my graphic programs it had messed something up so I deleted the program but my Corel Painter and all others appear to SAVE AS .jpg but then become .jpeg.
Can anyone help me ???

I know logically they are, but ever since this started happening, pc users can't open these files..
(and why is this happening anyway?)..
If I send in Applemail, even when I check windows friendly, they can not open the files. They always could as .jpg.
I'd love to know what is saving them as .jpeg all of a sudden.
Here's what happens:
I save as: .jpg
File looks normal..xxx.jpg
the I email it..
receiver gets the file but it has somehow become: xxx.jpeg
I tried emailing it to myself also to verify.
2nd scenario:
I save as xxx.jpg
and 2 files are created:
1 as .jpg
1 as .jpeg
It's so bizarre...and the fact that the files can't be opened as .jpeg easily is making me nuts...:)
Did this GIMP program change some kind of code or something in Mountain Lion?

Can I convert a jpeg into an eps file without illustrator?
I do not have illustrator and I need to convert a jpeg file into an eps file. Is there a way to do this without illustrator?
You can re-save the jpeg as EPS from Photoshop,
but if you need a vector eps, you will need Illustrator or an equivalent program to do it. Also, depending upon the complexity of your file, it may not be able to be an automatic convertsion. -
I am using Photoshop Elements 11 and I need to convert text to curves
I don't need to put text on a curve but need to convert the text of my picture to curves by the company that is going to re-produce it. The require this so that the text won't get distorted if they don't have the same fonts that I am using.
I can't find any info on how to do this, Can I convert whole words or do I have to do a letter at a time? Can I get all the text on one layer and then convert the text on that layer to curves?

Quicklook is not quick anymore. It needs to convert even .mov files! Is there a solution?
Today, I got a rather agressive reminder to upgrade to Mavericks on my workstation. I work as a motion graphics designer and as a result of that, I am opening, watching and making movies all day.
On my home computer, an iMac, I installed Mavericks, and then Quicklook became totally unusable for movies. Even .movs in Apple Animation codec cannot be 'looked quick at', but need to convert.
Untill this is solved, I am not going to upgrade my workstation to Mavericks, since it is gonna cost me a lot of time and annoyance.
Why is this brilliant feature of Mac OSX crippled in Mavericks?Both ProRes and H.264 are lossy and not useful as codec for graphics that have to be processed over and over.
However - it is not an improvement if less movies can be opened than before. Quicklook should open every movie that is encoded in a codec installed in the Library. -

Saving a logo as a .EPS file, need higher resolution than 75dpi
Hi, hope someone can help me
I have designed a logo & sent it to the client, but they have come back to me asking for it in a higher resolution.
Apparently the .eps file I sent to them was 75 dpi but they need 300 dpi
I have opened up the original .ai files & tried to save them in higher resolution .eps but there is no option in the .eps save as dialogue box to save at higher resolution. The only part that seems to mention it is in the Transpency section... Preset: [Medium Resolution] But it's greyed out.
Does anyone know where I am going wrong?

It's very common for someone receiving an EPS to import it into another program, see the embedded For-Position_Only preview (which is a raster image) and think it is a "low res EPS."
EPS is a metaformat. It's like a box that can contain any combination of raster, vector, and/or text objects. So EPS itself, like an Illusrtator fle, has no resolution, because resolution in a metaformat is object-specific to whatever raster objects which may or may not be included. A single EPS file may contain a 300 PPI raster image, and a 150 PPI raster image at the same time. Or, it may contain no raster objects at all, and only contain vector paths.
Regardless of the actual content, when you save the EPS, a screen-resolution raster image is created and embedded. This is to provide the program which is going to import it something for the user to see onscreen.
When the file is printed to a PostScript device (EPS stands for Encapsulated PostScript), the device prints the full-res raster objects, the vector objects, and/or the text objects that are contained in the EPS.
When the file is printed to a non-PostScript device, only the low-res preview is printed, because non-PostScript printers have no "brain" to interpret PostScript content.
If you are going to provide EPS to your customers, you should have some idea of what they intend to do with it, and make sure they have at least some basic understanding of what it is.

The application Acrobat provides no language translation capability.
If you localize the language for OS, MS Office applications, Acrobat, etc to the desired language try again.
Alternative: transfer a copy of content into a web based translation service (Bing or Google provides a free service).
Transfer the output into a word processing program that is localized to the appropriate language.
Do cleanup.

I've just installed CS6 creative suite mainly for photoshop CS6. It comes with camera raw 7.0.something, but need something newer to use my canon 6d. When I download camera raw 8.5 and install the raw converter doesnt work anymore, wont even open or isnt available anymore in the plugin list. Tried to reinstall everything for a few times, but nothing helps.
When I search for updates the raw converter doesnt get update automaticly. Frustrating, is costing me the whole morning.

i have a nano 4th generation 8gb i have tried resetting it, i get the apple logo come up but nothing else happens. It will work in my docking station but as soon as i take it out it will not respond. any ideas, do i need a new battery?
It definitely sounds like your Nano needs a new battery at this point. You can have Apple replace it for a flat fee, send it into a third party service center to be replaced for much less, or you can purchase a new battery online and swap it out yourself if you feel up to it.

I am receiving excel files, which I need to convert with my macbook pro...I did this with export, but the file I got didnt show graphs as it should...can you help...do I need to buy excel for Apple computer, or is there any easier way of dealing with it..does App "Numbers" help here?

I updated my Apple TV last night and since then it is asking me to plug it into a device. I have a picture of the Music Logo and a cable needing to be plugged into the back of the Apple TV. however I am unable to do this as none of the cables i have will fit. Can someone please help me?
ThanksThe update failed. It needs to be plugged into a computer with iTunes via a standard USB cable so iTunes can reload its firmware.
