  • Logos look fuzzy in Studio Pro but NOT in the original QT movie

I assembled a flying logo (Photoshop) over video in Adobe After Effects and exported it as a Quicktime movie. The Logo looks anti-aliased and great in both AE and the Quicktime movie. But when I look at it in DVD Studio Pro it looks horrible (jagged and fuzzy). The video looks OK. I've done this a hundred times and never had this problem before!

No I haven't burned a DVD yet. I was hoping that perhaps it was just the viewer resolution in Studio Pro and that the video would look better once it was burned to DVD. I just don't recall seeing this happen before (the viewer window has always looked pretty true) and I've been working with SP for years. Maybe I'm just getting old and my eyes are going.
Guess I should try to follow through on authoring and see what I get.

  • On Google Chrome the Adobe edge web font looks fuzzy and broken-up. Is there a way to fix this?

I have created a website with Adobe Muse and I am using an adobe edge web font that looks great on all browsers except for google Chrome... On chrome the font looks fuzzy and broken-up. Is there a way to fix this??? Thanks.

    Thank you Sanjit,
I have redone the site using using the font TREBUCHET. The font that I was using that was giving me the problem was EXO which is an Adobe Edge Web font. I'd rather use EXO... Here is a screen shot of a sample page, areas where the type looks especially messed up are circled in red.
This only happens when opened in Google Chrome on a Windows PC. However it looks fine with Chrome on my MAC.

  • The images in Photoshop or InDesign improperly anti-aliased, looking fuzzy

I've bought Late 2013 Retina Macbook Pro with Mac OS Mavericks, and am having trouble with anti-aliasing.
In short, the images/documents open in Photoshop or InDesign are improperly anti-aliased and look fuzzy.
I can understand why the menu bars and stuff should appear fuzzy and blurry as a result of auto anti-aliasing; otherwise they might appear too small for eyes to see since the resolution is super high.
But why should the machine want to blow up the images or documents inside the application and apply anti-aliasing to make them look so fuzzy?
It would be grateful if there's a way to stop my computer doing the anti-aliasing all the stuff on screen.

No, not that I know of - you do need to make certain that you're using the very latest versions of both apps, though.

  • MBP to HDMI looks fuzzy

Why does the font on my 32-inch Samsung 1080p LCD TV look fuzzy when it is connected to my MBP via HDMI to Mini Display Port? It is only when it is connected to the MBP. When it is connected to my PS3 it is crystal clear. How can I fix this if at all possible?

Apple menu > About this Mac > More Info > Model Identifier
or you can look it up by serial number:

  • Logo looks flattened

I have recently created a business card and when our company logo was incorporated the letters of the logo look flat.
The business card is standard size with the the original imported logo image being 6000x4200 png file.  I tried making the size smaller by dragging the corner point to a smaller dimension but the result is flattened image that loses crispness.
Should I be using the png file or would it be best to work with the original .ai vectored file?
    Thank you

It's hard to understand what you mean by "flat" seeing as logos are, in essence, actually flat. Do you mean that you are working on a logo that should have a 3d effect or a hint of depth and resizing messes it up? Good logos should be scalable and would not get distorted no matter what size you make them.

  • I made an iMovie from iPhoto pictures that both look GREAT.  Watching the DVD i burned on a Playstation2 makes the pics look fuzzy. Why? how can i fix this?

    MPR

When you watch on your Mac, it is at or near HD 1920x1080 pixels (about 2 megapixels), depending on the resolution of your screen. Most photos today are 5 megapixels or greater, depending on your camera, but anything over 2 megapixels must be reduced when put in a video.
When you create a DVD, you must further reduce it to 640x480, standard definition. This is about 0.3 megapixels. iDVD will do this for you.
You can fix by creating an HD movie in iMovie. You can Share this using Share/Export Using QuickTime to an MP4 container using the h.264 codec. You can then put this movie on your PS3 using a USB thumb drive.
That should give you good resolution.
(NEVER MIND, YOU SAID PS2 not PS3, my apologies)

  • InDesign CS6 looks fuzzy with retina display

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro with retina display and installed my CS6 software. Photoshop and Illustrator look fine, but InDesign looks pixelated. The menus and fonts look fuzzy. I can't work like this. I read there is a possibility to uncheck the "open in low resolution" box but haven't been able to actually uncheck it. Can someone help with this?

Unfortunately, you have to subscribe to CC to get retina InDesign & Acrobat.

  • Imported images look fuzzy

Hi, I am trying to import images from Photoshop 7.0 into iMovie HD but they look fuzzy. I have tried saving the Photoshop files as Gifs, Tiffs, Jpegs and PNG files but when they are imported into IMovie the end result is the same. If anyone has any sage advise to share it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi Ian,
    welcome to this forum
do you judge the pic quality in the iM window? in iM's prefs, there's a setting "better playback" "better quality"… for s smoother playback, normally the pic quality is reduced - but NOT in the final project!
second, you can play-out live via firewire to camcorder to connected TV… because, the final quality can only be judged on a TV… a computer has a very different technique to show pictures…
saying that: the pic quality on TV will NEVER be as in Photoshop/Mac's monitor… a TV has a much smaller resolution, interlacing, etc.

  • Photoshop CS4 Pdfs look fuzzy

Hi my cs4 photoshop is creating pdfs that look fuzzy. when you do a save as photoshop pdf the opened file looks fuzzy. No sure what the problem is.. The photoshop file looks fine 300dpi when you get it into acrobat the file is nothing like the original. I have looked at the photoshop settings which are set to high quality.
    Any answers

    Could You post a sample-pdf?
What is the resolution of the original file?
What are the »Compression«-settings when You save the pdf?

  • Why does Lightroom 4 look fuzzy on my Mackbook Pro Retina?

Can someone tell me why images in Lightroom 4 look fuzzy & not sharp at all on my macbook pro retina? Photoshop images look great and so do pictures in preview on my computer. But Lightroom 4 images are so hard to tell if they are focused or sharp or not.

Which version of Lightroom 4 are you using? I'm at 4.2 now, but there should be a version 4.3 coming out soon that adds Retina display functionality.

  • Slides look fuzzy

I'm inserting slides into my sequence but as soon as I insert them they look fuzzy, almost unreadable (which kind of defeats the purpose of putting them in the video to begin with). Is there anything I can do so that they look as clear as they did before I inserted them?

It really helps the process if you answer the questions. It's hard enough doing this via typed communication and drops to impossible if there is no meaningful interchange of information.
    Again ...
What is the size in pixels (width x height) of the images? e.g. 800x600, 1024x768 or ?
What format are the images? jpg, tiff, bmp or ?
What is the sequence format? DV, HDV or ?
And yes, you have to tell the program to render. And, as Canvas only shows a proxy image, you'll want an external TV to view what is really happening to them (the manual has a section on connecting one).
    cheers,

  • Company logo looks bad

For some reason or company logo looks like $hit when viewed on a TV monitor. What's the best way to import a logo in FCP? JPG or Photoshop? What format? How should it be saved?
    Thanks

I asked a similar question yesterday about which formats support Alpha channels and David Slater answered my question. I knew .png did, but he said tiff and photoshop did also.
I had 10 either eps files or scanned logos provided to me for a project that I opened in PS, did my thing on them to get just the logos and not the white background, and saved as .png. 8 worked, 2 had white artifacts all over them ONLY when rendered. Saving those two as tiffs did the trick. I had trouble getting what I wanted when saved as photoshop.
I think one of them had been in CMYK color space which may have been the problem. The other one was definitely in RGB so I don't know why it wasn't working.
    Hope this helps some.

  • Everything looks fuzzy when you are trying to do work in photo shop or any of the suites

Everything looks fuzzy when I am trying to work in photo shop or any of the suites compared to the top bar.

It's the Retina Display. the programs you are using need to updated to work with that display. Until that happens you will have to live with it.
