Logo Overlaps with Data when viewed in HTML mode

Hi,
My report looks weird when I view the report in HTML mode i.e., my report logo overlaps with the report Row headers but when i view the same report in Java Applet mode report looks good and also when I export the report it looks good.
I tried deleting the logo & adding a new logo & I even changed the settings of the logo & also I cleared cache of my browser, etc. I tired many options but nothing seems to work. Only couple of reports have this kind of issue & rest other reports looks good.
Did anyone faced this kind of issue before? Is it a tool bug?
FYI, I am using BO 4.0 SP5.
FYI, I have created Logo by creating a blank cell in the Header of the report., then right click on blank cell and select “Format Cell”. In the formal Format Cell window click on Appearance and click on Radio Button “Image from URL” then type boimg://reportimage.jpg

M…oSoft products aren't allowed on my machines but I use LibreOffice which is a clone of Office.
When I export from Numbers to Excel and open the result with LibreOffice, the dates are correctly treated.
To be precise, dates after 01/01/1904 are correctly treated. dates before 01/01/1904 are exported as strings but, as it's flagged during the export process, it's not surprising.

Some album artwork missing only when viewed in tile mode.

Hello, after Restoring to new (to clear up an issue with excessive "other") and updating iPod 5 to iOS 7.1, which corrected issues, I have found an odd glitch with music. Four album covers are missing when viewed in tile mode only. You see them otherwise when viewed any other way, everything plays as it should, it's just there not there in tile view mode, what you do see is black background with white letters telling you the album title and artist name. Have tried powering down, soft reset, Reset All Settings. Going into get info and tapping get artwork. Erasing effected music and syncing albums back into iPod. Erasing entire music library and then reinstalling, and Restore from backup. The same four albums do not appear in tile mode. All effected albums were purchased through iTunes. As far as I know the only other thing to try is the Restore to new, is there something else to try? Thanks.

Sorry Illaass, been there, done that. No joy! Used the suggested method to delete before posting this. (Picked it up from you when you helped someone else with a similar problem-- it worked for them, but not with this one). It's kinda looking like restoring to new? (Please tell me something else... It's such a pain.)

Data columns overflow when viewing in HTML or infoview

Hopefully there's a simple answer for this. I have several reports created in Crystal 2008 or XI R2 that sporadically display data incorrectly when viewed via either HTML view or published to BOE XI 3.1 and viewed in infoview.
The symptom is when data fields are longer than the field size defined, they will overflow into the adjacent columns and overwrite the next column. When previewed in Crystal or exported to pdf, etc they look fine and will truncate the data at the defined field width. I don't want to turn on the 'can grow' and take up additional lines, I need it to truncate the data at the specified length.

thanks Raghavendra. That didn't actually work as It had no impact on the html rendering, the column still overflowed It also had the negative impact of truncating the PDF and other formats at the first space character in the string, but your suggestion lead me to a solution.
I found that by setting the fields 'text interpretation' to either html or RTF instead of 'none', that the truncation would work as desired in the html viewer. Not sure why this would be so, but it fixes my issue. Seems like kind of a bug to me though.

I have created and deleted dynamic table rows when click on Add button using javascript. whenever i click on Next button it will navigate to same page of next panel.
when i click on previous button then it goes to previous panel but whatever i have added dynamic table rows in 1st panel that got removed.

Put the button click into an action listener and build the new frame there. The code I have below isn't exactly what you're doing (it's amazingly oversimplified), but it's probably similar enough to get your wheels turning in the right direction.

Forms created in Acrobat Pro XL do not display data when viewed on iPads

I have a simple form that when completed and saved as an Acrobat Pro XL document and then emailed to customers, do not display the field contents of the form when viewed on iPads. So the customers just see a blank form. I have tried to use Optimize for Web and Moblie to solve this, but it appears that many times, since the iPads are so prevalent, that people can;t see the full content of the form that I send. Is there a solution for this?

When your customers opened the PDF form (which was as an email attachment) on iPads, it is highly likely that Apple Mail (not Adobe Reader for iOS) was displaying the preview of the PDF form. Please note that Apple products on iPad/iPhone (e.g. Apple Mail, iBooks, Safari) do not render field contents or annotations (sticky notes, highlight, underline, strikeout, freehand drawing, etc.) in PDF documents.

Images overlap with text when after creating pdf: InDesign CS

Good morning,
I am using bot InDesign CS and CS2, and I am having a problem as the following:
After creating the pdf, images overlap with one another, or the text overlap behind the images so on.
First, I would like to mention the overlapped images had no problem at the previous version of the pdf. If I make a change on the page "06" for example and then recreate the pdf, a couple of images in the other pages move to the different place through the document.
So I tend to "replace" the changed pages into the previous version of the pdf instead of recreating the pdf for all pages.
Is this kind of bug or features of InDesign?
It would be very much appreciated if anyone answer me.

The PDF that was placed into ID loses all interactivity and form fields. There is no way to do what you want.

Distortion with sound when viewing burned movie from idvd

I created a movie in iMovie that included tracks from iTunes and exported it to create the dvd in iDVD.
When viewing it in iMovie, it sounds great.
When I exported and viewed the movie in iDVD, it sounds great.
But after I burn the dvd and view it on any of my tv's, the sound is distorted. I've tried playing the settings in iMovie changing the track volume to a lower setting but that isn't helping.
Can anyone help?

I had a similar problem. Some of the music in my movie was distorted playing on my TV. Burning the dvd in disk utility did not make a difference, but the file was 3 times larger. Anyway while trouble-shooting I found that it played much better through the HDMI cable as opposed to the component cables. It also played ok on my older TV through the AV cables. So it is either my component out jacks on my dvd player or my component cable. I have noticed other dvd's that I made from my Imac do play very loud on all my TV's.

Webelements : does not support when i add the data sourcce& view in HTML

i am using sap crystal reports 2008 and when i add the data source and add tables to the report and i use web elements functions as my selection screen then it does not show i mean the script remains as it is and when i take out my data source
then it works when i view it in HTML VIEWR.
how can i make it to work despite me using the data soruce.

hi Pasala,
this is due to the sap integration kit which does not support pass-through html. webelements require pass-through html in order to show up as html.
here's what you can try though:
1) install the latest sap integration kit on your boe system machine(s)
2) if the above does not solve the issue follow the steps at the bottom of [this thread|WebElements: HTML not rendering when using Bex Query as Source]
3) if 2 above doesn't work then see [this thread |Re: WebElements only show HTML tags (even after following WebElement guides)]as a last resort
hopefully step 1 & step 2 will solve the issue.

ECT List View Web Part displaying incorrect data when View Item

I have a External Content Type which pulls data from a stored procedure. The stored procedure has 1 parameter - the users logon id. The data retrieved is a list of meetings with start date time, end date time, location, subject, etc. From this ECT there
is an External List which displays all data correctly.
There is 2 pages within the site and its subsites that have list view web parts which display a subset of the info from the external list. When the user clicks a specific meeting to display the complete info on the meeting, the wrong information is displayed,
it always displays the info for the 1st meeting in the list. So, I displayed the BDC Identity field on the list and this field is identical for all the rows since the key for the ECT is the username and hence not unique.
I've spent all day trying to finding a way to resolve this and have come up empty. I've tried to find a way to make the BDC Identity field to be unique, using Business Data View web part, Data View web part, and nothing.
The user needs to be able to click the My Meetings url header on the above pages to see a full list of their meetings so I need the external list. Any ideas how to make the BDC Identity field unique or how to get the View Item on the List View web part to
work correctly?

I resolved the non unique BDC Identity problem by simply adding the row # to the Username in the stored procedure so the BDC Identity fields on the list records are now unique (although they're really long ie. __bk44003500070057003700560027000200140037003700f600360096001600470056003300,
__bk44003500070057003700560027000200140037003700f600360096001600470056004300 etc). Not sure how it generates the BDC Identity?
I still see the same behaviour when you select a meeting to display the details. It always displays the 1st record in the list.
I added code to the DispForm to display the ID when the page loads and the BDC Identity from the record and verfied that they do match.
I can add another parameter to the stored procedure and just return the row # in that field. What do you mean by make the identifire as Identity in operations?

Missing data when viewing older pdf in Adobe Reader XI

Hi. I have a large number of older PDFs which I can view fine in Adobe Reader 8 but when I view them with Adobe Reader 11 some of the lighter data is not visible. Is there some setting which would cause this? Do you have any other suggestions?

HI. I didn't mention that Adobe 8 is on a windows server 2003 machine and Adobe 11 is on a Win 7 machine. I was able to get around this problem by opening the pdfs on the server 2003 machine with acrobat 8, saving them to postscript files, then running them through Adobe Distiller 11 on the Win7 machine with the default setting of High Quality Print. This seems like a lot of trouble. Is there a better way?

Report Viewer shows incorrect data when viewing pages from last to first

I've made a huge report with Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2005, and sometimes the Report Viewer show data with errors.
If I see all pages of my report in order, 1 first, then 2nd, 3, 4... until the last one.... The report is always correct.
If I see all pages in reverse order, 1 first (shown by default), then last one, then last one-1.... until 2nd.. All years show incorrect, except first one...
In an outer section, for every year, there is a final row which shows summarize calculated data. The error consists in that every value of the row is 0.
It seems that Crystal Report calculates while showing, that's good.. but... Why does it ignore the data before when I see directly the last page?? It forces me to see all pages one by one in ascendant order to ensure data is correct.. I must fix that error.
The way I calculate data in the problematic summarize row is a bit complicated, but I'll try... Let's focus in one only column (the other ones are similar). The summarize value is a formula which simply show a global value :

It is placed in the backgrond property of a CrossTab cell in a hidden pre-section... Well.. I know it's a bit complicated, but I have to do that way because it was the only trick I found to make a summarize file before printing data summarized (that's why the line "CurrencyVar actual:=actual+CurrentFieldValue;" appeared in formula). So I also wanted to use this formula to acummulate "margenActual".
In the inner section I reset the actual value (this value always go fine):

CurrencyVar actual:=0;
Before end of year I reset the margenActual value:

CurrencyVar margenActual:=0;
I've tried multiple combinations (using WhileReadingRecords instead WhilePrintingRecords) but data is incorrect or I cannot get rid of visualization page's problem....

Ok so the ID of the mxXML was being interpreted as an E4X
variable at compile time?
I tried changing the name of the ID of the HTTPService call
from "marketData" to "MDATA" and assigning the variable marketData
to the result of the HTTPService query, which if I understand you
correctly should basically make everything work as it was before,
but it seems to be a problem.
when I try to run it puts an exclamation point on this line

That code refers to a SWC file. Apparently it wants
marketData to be a data provider. If I change the dataProvider
reference above to "MDATA" (the ID of the HTTPService) the App
compiles, but I get two errors at runtime:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of
a null object reference.
ReferenceError: Error #1081: Property @age1 not found on
mx.rpc.http.mxml.HTTPService and there is no default value.
What should I change this reference to? It won't compile if I
use the variable I made for the e4x results and it is reading
gibberish if I have it read directly from the
HTTPService....?

AS3 Components dissappear from stage when viewed in HTML but not in Flash Player app

I'm really hoping someone can help me here. I've been working
on a project for a while now (still very new to AS but I'm getting
there) and am supposed to be showing an initial release tomorrow. I
have a main app (Application.swf) that contains all the business
logic classes. Application.swf then loads Skin.swf which contains
all of the GUI widgets & design. The idea is that Skin.swf can
be swapped out for Skin2.swf and customized if desired.
Skin.swf contains 2 AS3 components: ComboBox & DataGrid
When I test Application.swf the components appear and work
fine. When I double click Application.swf and open it in Flash
Player.app (standalone flash player from Adobe) the components
appear & work fine. When I export to HTML and view
Application.swf in a browser page the components are both
completely missing. Not that they are present but have no data,
they are just completely absent from the stage.
I can't figure out how this could be the case unless maybe
there is a security setting somewhere that's triggered by the .swf
running in a browser.
Any help would be HUGELY appreciated.

Iphoto 6 library uses roll numbers and dates when viewing in photoshop

Hi,
Hoping someone can help me. I'm a fairly inexperienced Mac user but have been using iphoto and photoshop fairly extensively but not for anything too complicated.
Before I upgraded to iLife 06 I could browse from within photoshop by going into iphoto library and then the year followed by the month and date - just what I needed.
This no longer works - infact it brings up photos in some very odd months and days if I browse iphoto library.
However,from reading this forum I have gathered that I need to look in the 'originals' folder to browse photos in photo shop now. Unfortunately though it gives the year and then only roll numbers.
Is there a way I can get it to work like it was doing? Also I would like to back up on a fairly regular basis my iphoto library to an external HD - whats the best way of doing this and can I get it so the organisation is years>months>days etc.

The doc "IMG_0677.JPG" has an embedded colour profile that does not match the current RGB working space. The embedded profile will be used in stead of the working space.
Clicked OK and the image opened.

Went back to iPhoto and choose that sameimage - double clicked. PS launched but the image still didn't.
What you should have done instead of just closing it is do a Save As being sure to check the box in PS, Embed sRGB color profile, that appears in the Save window. When you do that keep the location and file name exactly the same. That will force PS to embed that profile. As is was, you just opened it and then closed which left the file the same.
Or you can download the Automator application "Embed sRGB Profile" from Toad's Cellar, unzip it, and then drop those problem Original file onto it. It will automatically embed the profile into any image file dropped on it. You can do batches that way.
As far as the locked file, download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, putting your administartive name in the owner and group sections. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field. This will set the permissions correctly on all enclosed files AND unlock any locked file inside.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Replace text with data while viewing

Use "SUBSTR(name, 1,3)" to display the first 3 characters. However, if your "rule" for abbreviations is more complex (for example "ali khan" becomes "al" instead of "ali" ???) then you'd have to use either of these methods :
1. Store the abbreviated values in another column in the table
2. Use a lookup table to "map" names to abbreviations
3. Write a PLSQL function with the "rules" built into it and taking the current name as an input, returning an abbreviated name
4. Use a simple DECODE function (which can be used only when you have a very small number of distinct "name" values to hardcode into the function call).
