Logoff button opens a new Window

Hi gurus,
we have newly installed EP 6.0 SP20. When we try to logoff the portals with the log off button, a new window is opened and the logoff takes a lot of time to actually logoff. The new window is open even after the delayed logoff. Has any one faced this issue and is it a known issue and does it have a fix or suggest take it up with SAP as i have not found anyrelated notes

Hi,
logoff portal issue are also ""common"" in EP7.
With the EP7 SP6 or 7, sorry I can not exactly remember, we were experiencing log off problem using IE6.
Mozilla were working.
With SP 11, log off option works on both Mozilla and IE 6, opening a new window and log off quite quickly.
Here's my little experience.

Exit button - Opens a new Window

Portal experts,
We are facing some problem with exit button in the standard iViews like Bank, personal data.
When we click on the exit button, it is opening a new window rather than coming out of the iView. I searched for sap notes, didnt find anything.
can anyone faced this problem?

Hello Jay,
Yes you make the settings using Work Protect Mode in the Portal. If you don't want to open a new window you need to configure workprotect mode.
Simply follow this Note 734861 - WorkProtect Mode - Global Settings

How do i make a button open a new window...

Hi,
I'm making some very basic login software and i want the program to open up a new window when the "Login" button is pressed and then display a message saying whether the login was successful or not.
Any help would be appreciated but i would love some code to help me see how to do it and help me on my way.

what do you exactly need, the "how to create and display a frame"? I bet your program already has a frame, so I suspect you know how to do that. Well, just do it again.
Note: if its just a plain message you wish to display to the user, the easiest way will be by using javax.swing.JOptionPane, look for the showXxxx methods.

Middle-click or click the scroll-wheel on a hyperlink has always opened a '''new Tab'''. Any chance you had an add-on that changed that action, and now that add-on is disabled or incompatible?

Open a new window when you click on a button

Hi all,
I'm a newbie on BPS and web interface on BPS. I have a problem on how to open a new window.
I explain:
We have a page with a button which call a function. We want to change this button in the way when you ckick it, a new window appears and present a page with two buttons which call each a function(this page is already created thanks to bps_wb).
The problem is : how to modify the button in the way it opens a new window with in parameter the page.

I don't know about a pop-up, but if you are trying to open a page (page 2) in a new window (internet explorer window), then do the following:
Instead of using a navigate pushbutton, use a hyperlink component.
In the URL selection option insert the URL (web address) of page 2. You can find the URL by going to SE80, in the repository browser select "BSP Application" and "THE TECHNICAL NAME OF YOUR BPS". Open your BSP and go to the folder "pages with flow logic" and find your "page 2". Double click on your page and then select the "properties" tab and navigate to the bottom where you will see the pages URL.
Insert this URL address into your hyperlink component back in the Web Interface Builder.
Leave the Target selection as parent. Make sure your internet explorer enhanced options are set to "not reuse the same window" under the browser options.

I have the following problem, I have a table with a button, and when the user clicks the button, I want to open a new window, I don't know how to set the button so that it opens another window...

Safari.1.1lion when i open a new window it opens as the old version without the reading list button or the download button why is that ?

so i downloaded the new safari version safari.1.1lion and i installed it and i love it but when i open a new window or i close safari and open it again it opens like the old version (the safari leopard ) it doesnt have the doenload button or the reading list button . it only opens as the new version if i restart the computer why is that.

I did find the problem... It was the DivX Plugin for Firefox. I just found I wasn't using it. I went to Add/Remove Programs and uninstalled it. FYI I am running Windows 7.

Using Firefox 5 in Windows 7, once I have Firefox open, I can no longer open a new window using the start button. How do I fix?

As I stated, I have Windows 7 on my laptop and have installed Firefox 5. I sometimes like to have multiple windows of the browser open. But, unlike any previous version of Firefox, now when I have the browser open, when I try to open a new window using the Start menu, it will not open one. I have to use Ctrl+N. Why did this change?
This may seem insignificant but it really hampers my work flow. For one, with other applications, Shift+N is what opens a new window. DW CS4 Help with jump menu opening a new window.

First, I can't believe that Adobe left out an easy to use behavior to do this.
I have some jump menus, and I would like the selection to open up a new window and have the content appear there. I saw a couple of old topics here that offered some suggestions, but they didn't work for me. I could get it to open a new window, but the content was not there. I saw where you need to add a "GO" button, and add a "Open New Window"behavior to it. That is what opened the new window with new content. I do not have the "GO" buttons on the jump menus in this code, but did try it and it didn't work. If anyone can help and tell me how to do it, and where to place the code, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm confused by your post and code. Adobe has a function to do this. In the Insert Toolbar under the Tab "Forms" there is an option to create a jump menu. The only options that menu gives you is the same window or a frame on the page (a very outdated action looking at it now). But with basic knowledge of links you insert the menu and you will get code like:
<select name="jumpMenu" id="jumpMenu" onChange="MM_jumpMenu('parent',this,0)">
The "parent" denotes that this will open in the same window. If you change that to "blank" then it will open in a new window. A "Go" button is optional and also available in the DW GUI when you set up a jump menu.

How do I get firefox to open a new window when i click on a link in a webpage ?

When I click on a link in a webpage in Firefox, generally it opens the new page in the window i am in (though some times it does not). How do I get it to open a new window (or tab) each time I click a link.
For example, on www.bbc.co.uk if I click on a link, the new page opens in the same window, if I then click another link in the new window, again, it opens in the same window. To get back to the original window, I have to use the back button twice. Surely there is a setting so that all 3 windows can be open on separate tabs or separate windows.
I have been to the tabs window in options, but doesn't seem to make a difference.

Getting a smaller duplicate of my firefox page everytime I open a new window and I have to close it out, nothing is working and even ran a virus scan- getting f

Geez, have to go to 10 different things to even get here!!!! I am having a problem with getting a smaller version of firefox every time I open a new window but it is blank, it looks like your web page, I have to close it out to view my page I was opening. Is there anyway to get an App Tab to stay when I close the program then reopen it?...they always disappear when I open a new window etc.

And I thought the whole point of an App Tab was to always have those tabs there no matter what window is open all the time period.
It's a minor complaint but I would really appreciate the option to permanently have them there.

I thought that app tabs would be more persistent, like pinning programs to the taskbar in Windows, but this is not the case.
Instead, once you close a Firefox window, all its tabs and app tabs are lost.
Essentially, this means that the close button in the upper-left corner of a Firefox window is now a "kill all open tabs and loose all App Tabs without warning++ " button. That is not cool.
I realize that "Firefox > Quit Firefox" behaves as intended, but many people use the more obvious red close button instead of the menu to close windows on a Mac. And it is easy to forget that the red button is now also an app-tab-death button. I've lost my app tabs many times to this issue. It is an unforgiving user interface decision which hampers the usability of app tabs. Why should I go through the extra clicks of setting up app tabs if I can loose them so easily?
Ideally, App Tabs could be saved separately from the currently open windows (perhaps create an option to save then to a special Tab Group that opens on startup?). App tabs would be exceedingly useful to me if they weren't so easy to loose.
On that note, saving Tab Groups would also be a useful functionality.
++ You will get a "closing multiple tabs" warning if you have only one window open, and that one window has multiple non-app tabs open, and you have enabled the warning in Preferences. But this too unreliable to help prevent the loss of app tabs.
