Hi,
What is the application release?
What is the client OS? IE and Firefox version?
Do you have proper entry in the hosts file?
Can you ping the application hostname.domainname as well as the IP Addess from that client machine?

Hussein

  • Oracle E-Business Suite R12: E-Business Essentials(1Z0-204) still beta?

    Hi Guyz
    Well i want to know if the exam "Oracle E-Business Suite R12: E-Business Essentials(1Z0-204)" still beta? currently i am thinking to start certification on oracle Apps.
    But i think R12 is still beta? 11i certification still available.
    So its better to go for beta exam instead of 11i certification? Moreover one need to repeat(when exam nomore beta) the exam if he/she already beta certified?
    Regards
    Hasan

    Well i checked the link u provided. On the link following is mentioned
    "Oracle Certification Beta Exam numbers begin with "1Z1"; Oracle Certification Production Exam numbers begin with "1Z0". Both versions of the exam have the same suffix. For example, a beta version of an exam may be 1Z1-512. The production version of this exam will be 1Z0-512."
    So it means Oracle E-Business Suite R12: E-Business Essentials(1Z0-204) is not beta exam anymore?

  • E-Business Suite Integration with Oracle Business Intelligence

    Hi,
    To integrate E-Business Suite with Oracle Business Intelligence I have done all the configurations as specified in DocId. *552735.1* of Metalink. I have tested the configurations by logging in from EBS and navigating to OBIEE Presentation Services. I'm able to navigate with no errors but not able to view Subject Areas in the Answers link. I'm testing this with 'Administrator' user. When I directly login to Presentation Serivices with the Administrator user I'm able to see the Subject Areas.
    Can anyone have idea what is the problem?
    Thanks in Advance,

    Hi,
    Think I spotted the problem - probably specific to OBIA 7.9.5.
    There is no "Authorization" initialization block: in previous incarnations (e.g. OBIA 7.9.4 and earlier I guess) there was a FndGetResp intialization block that assigned a value to the OBIEE "GROUP" system variable.
    So I did the following and now I'm getting Subject Areas and Answers answers, but Dashboards still not working for me - maybe another issue.
    1. Create system variable GROUP, temporarily with initialization block "Authentication"
    2. Create initialization block "EBS Responsibility to Group" with query (note I've modified based on new session variable name RESP_ID goes to OLTP_EBS_RESP_ID in 7.9.5):
    SELECT RESPONSIBILITY_KEY
    FROM FND_RESPONSIBILITY
    WHERE RESPONSIBILITY_ID = 'valueof(NQ_SESSION.OLTP_EBS_RESP_ID)'
    Set the execution precendence to include EBS Security Context and EBS Single Sign-On Integration
    NB: Had to create dummy variable GROUP_TMP for the "OK" button to come up, will replace that with real GROUP in next steps
    3. Go back and edit System variable GROUP and change initialization block to EBS Responsibility to Group
    4. Go back and edit initialization block EBS Responsibility to Group and remove variable GROUP_TMP
    5. Created an OBIEE Group with name = responsibility key e.g. for my "SBA Administrator" responsibility, key = "SBA_ADMIN_KEY", so I created group named "SBA_ADMIN_KEY"
    6. Made your new group (e.g. SBA_ADMIN_KEY) a member of the Administrators Group
    7. Copy across rpd and restart sa / saw
    Still awaiting response from Oracle Support ... so no guarantees this is correct and no guarantees that it won't break something else that Oracle suggests later!

    Gareth

  • ANNOUNCEMENT: Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.1  Oracle VM Templates

    I'm pleased to announce the availability of Oracle Virtual Machine Templates for E-Business Suite 12.1.1.
    Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.1 OVM Templates Media Packs (32-bit and 64-bit) Now Available
    Each media pack includes 2 OVM templates: one for database-tier nodes and one for middle-tier nodes. The templates deliver the results of a 12.1.1 Rapid Install with Vision demo database.
    You can now create E-Business Suite database-tier and middle-tier virtual machines on the Oracle Virtual Server platform. On first boot of the virtual machines, administrators will be prompted to initialize the machine and E-Business Suite instance information, which then persists to future boots of that virtual machine.
    Note that Oracle Virtual Server platform has been certified with E-Business Suite for a couple of years, but this is the first time we have published OVM templates created by E-Business Suite Development.
    Where are Templates and Additional Information Available From?
    Our E-Business Suite OVM Templates are announced on external oracle.com page: [http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/vm/templates/ebs.html|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/vm/templates/ebs.html]
    There we list details on how to obtain the templates from Oracle E-Delivery. We have created a Deployment Guide to quickly educate users on core OVM technology and template use details.
    For any questions you might have, we have created this external forum.

  • Can't open "change password site" at first logon to E-business suite

    We have a strange problem.when we open login page for E-business suite and try to log on for the first time we should get the "change password" site. Instead we get "page cannot be displayed". If we open the login page again (without shutting down IE) and log in we get the change password site and can change password for the user. If I close IE and open it again the same thing happend again (if you don't change the password). It is only when you need to change password you get "page cannot be displayed". otherwise everything work ok. it seems like it stopps at the fndvald.jsp file. the address in the IE stopps at http://<server.domain>:8000/OA_HTML/fndvald.jsp

    I can't find any trigger with that name..........
    I tried to write
    SQL> alter trigger FND_USER_AU disable;
    alter trigger FND_USER_AU disable
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-04080: trigger 'FND_USER_AU' does not exist
    When I look in the sql developer I can't find any trigger called FND_USER_AU either.

    Hi All,

    I ran the adautocfg.cmd but no use, i desperately need help as we don't have a dba admin, it was setup few years ago on our server, Help really appreciated. Thanks.

    It does matter ... the people that might know the answer to your problem are probably not in this forum.
    It is more likely that you're going to find someone in the EBS forum that can help you than here.... it does not hurt to post again in the EBS forum.

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE 2013 HOME AND BUSINESS

    Hello
    i just bought new microsoft office 2013 home and business licenced software .and we are using THIN CLIENT device in our premises and working remote desktop ,but after installation of msoffice the message showing
     "This copy of Microsoft Office 2013 cannot be used on a computer running Terminal Services" error message when you try to open the Click-to-Run version of an Office 2013 program or suite on a terminal server."
    it means i am facing issue with office 2013 home business that can not be used on terminal services.
    so pls help me to resolve this error

    Retail editions of Office can't be used on RDS/TS - only Volume Licensing editions can be used.
    Recently, Office365ProPlus was updated to provide "Shared Computer Activation", but this doesn't apply to Retail editions such as H&B.
    http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/about-licensing/briefs/remote-desktop-services.aspx
    5. Can I install a retail or OEM version of Microsoft Office on a network server?
    Microsoft Office retail (full packaged product) and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) products released in 2007 or later
    do not permit network use.

  • My microsoft office programs (Home and Business 2013) all desplay error message at startup stating " non-commercial use, not licenced product". How do I fix this?

    Hi,
    Whenever I start any of my microsoft programs I get an error message stating "non-commercial use, not licenced product" and I cannot do anything in the programs. I havve the Home and Business 2013 version.
    My husband bought the office programs for his and my computer and so they are both registered to his name however my email is the login, I dont know if this is relevant.
    How do I fix this?

    Hi,
    Based on your description, several possibilities come to my mind.
    1. You mentioned your husband bought the Office Suite for you, did he purchase one product key or two? We need to confirm if the product key can be installed on multiple machines, if a product key can be only installed once and he installed it
    on his computer first, you should purchase a new product key to activate your Office.
    Since the policy differs in different areas, to confirm how many machines the product key can be installed on, let your husband ask the retailer or contact the local customer service to get the answer:
    http://support2.microsoft.com/gp/customer-service-phone-numbers/en-us
    2. Please confirm your Office version. Based on the message "non-commercial use", I found this kb:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937676/
    But it's for Office Home and Student instead of Office Home and Business, we can perform the steps below to find the Microsoft Software License Terms:
    1. Start and Office program.
    2. On the File (Backstage) tab, click Account.
    3. Click About (Product name: Word, Excel etc..), in the window that opens, click
    View the Microsift Software License Terms link.
    3. If your Office is a trial version or the product key is not for the version that you are using, consider to uninstall it first, and install the appropriate version. You can probably get the installation media from your husband.

  • Office 2013 Home and Business with WSUS

    Hi,
    My company acquired 50 licences of Office 2013 Home and Business a few months ago, and I've discovered the Click-2-run technology to keep O2013 up-to-date.
    This morning, I've installed a new laptop as usual, including O2013 and our config to reach our WSUS server.
    What surprises me is that, one hour later, Windows Update offers me to install 43 updates, all concerning O2013.
    I'm pretty sure that no O2013 H&B update should come through WSUS, especially because of click-2-run.
    Do you have any information about this specific case ?
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi,
    Office 2013 C2R check the Office 365 service - http://officecdn.microsoft.com/ for new updates, not through Windows Update.
    As I know that WSUS is only used to manage the distribution of updates that are released through Microsoft Update, so it should not prompt updates for your Office 2013 Home and Business installation.
    Where did you get your Office installation source? Please first check if you have installed the correct version of Office, not a MSI based version.
    Check if you have any other version of Office pre-installed in your OS, like a trial version or some components of other version of Office suite.
    Here is a link to a list of all patches that are included in the most recent and past updates:

  • Replace OUTLOOK HOME AND BUSINESS Version with OUTLOOK PROFESSIONAL [Standalone]

    Hey Techies,
    Here is the Scenario,I have been using Office Home and business 2013(installed from Click-to-run setup)  on my WIN-7 pro. As i needed to access
    my Microsoft Exchange online archive (i have exchange online plan 2) on Outlook i'd to buy outlook Professional standalone (it has the feature to view online archive where as outlook office home and biz doesn't).
    So when i try to install outlook professional standalone onto my PC installer just skip installing the outlook (i think) and complete the installation successfully.I assume installation is skipping because outlook is already present .
    Kindly some one  assist me in installing Outlook professional by not removing other components of office home and business 2013.
    Thanks advance.

    >> It's the same Outlook 2013 in both cases.
    Not, it's not *exactly* the same - the Pro Plus version can do online archives & retention policies while the Outlook that comes with Home or Home & Business is missing a thing or two that are only supported by Exchange servers. For 99%
    of the users, it's no big deal and they never notice.
    FWIW, this isn't new and it isn't limited to Outlook - the Office professional and pro plus suites have always had a few extras over lower end retail suites. Excel in Pro Plus also has some additional BI stuff, like power pivot.  AFAIK, Word
    and PowerPoint are the same in both.
    This chart gives an idea of what is different.
    As for installing Outlook when a lessor version it's already installed, I'm not sure you can without uninstalling the Home and Business suite and reinstalling it after installing Outlook. It would be better to get the entire pro suite.

  • MS Office 2010 upgrade Home and Student to Home and Business

    Hello,
    I have to change Office versions on a couple of computers from Home and Student to Home and Business. I intend to uninstall the current versions then install the new ones. Presumably the license keys "liberated" can be reused on other computers. Is that
    correct?
    As far as I can tell, MS provides no way to recover a key. There are several utilities on the net that claim to do that. How reliable are they?
    Thanks in advance
    Philippe

    Hi,
    For a preloaded Office version you can locate the product key on you computer.
    If you purchased a Product Key Card, please locate the key on it.
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/find-your-office-2010-product-key-HA101832538.aspx
    If you lost the product key, try this:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823570?wa=wsignin1.0
    More information about licenses usage:
    Q:Can I install Office Home and Business 2010 and Office Professional 2010 on more than one PC?
    A:It depends on what you purchase—a Traditional Disc or Product Key Card. If you purchase a Traditional Disc retail license of Office Home and Business 2010 or Office Professional 2010, the retail license terms allow you to install, activate, and use Office
    Home and Business 2010 or Office Professional 2010 on your primary PC and your portable device such as your laptop. This license is for your use exclusively.
    If you purchase an Office 2010 Product Key Card, you can only activate and use the suite on one PC or device. For more information on the license you have purchased and to obtain an overview of your licensing agreement, visit the
    Microsoft Software License Terms (MSLT)

  • E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2 Procedure for OpenSuse 10.2

    I recently installed 11.5.10.2 on an OpenSuSE 10.2 machine and found considerable differences between SLES10/SuSE10.1 and OpenSuSE 10.2. The following instructions will install a fully functional E-Business Suite:
    Setup the O/S per the following guide:
    Oracle 10gR2 on openSUSE 10.2
    http://ftp.novell.com/partners/oracle/docs/10gR2_openSUSE102_introduction.pdf
    Install Suse Linux 10.2 with at least the following groups:
    Graphical Base System
    KDE Desktop Environment
    C/C++ Compiler and Tools
    Under partitioning, ensure you have 2GB minimum for swap. I recommend starting with 4 or 6 GB of swap (2x-3x physical ram).
    create dba and appl groups
    create oracle and applmgr user
    as root:
    cd /usr/lib
    ln -s libdb.so.2 libdb.so.3

    This script provides dynamic gif generation for many self service/framework applications and Motif Window Manager for preventing REP-3000 errors running bitmapped concurrent requests. If you do not mind the square gray boxes or never run bitmapped reports, you can skip this step.
    If you want to test Workflow notifications, edit /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf and change:
    #disable_plaintext_auth = yes
    to
    disable_plaintext_auth = no
    SSL enabled IMAP for 11i was only enabled after ATG.H RUP 3, and not really required small training environments.
    Goto Yast->System->System Services (Runlevels)
    Highlight Dovecot and enable it.
    Goto Yast->Network Services->Mail Transfer Agent
    Leave the Connection Type on Permanent and click next
    Leave Outgoing Server blank and hit next.
    Check the Accept remote SMTP connections and Open port in firewall, then hit next.
    Run Online Update for all updateable packages. This will bring the Sun Java plugin up to 1.5.0_10.
    http://ftp.novell.com/partners/oracle/sles-10/orarun.rpm
    rpm -Uhv orarun.rpm
    Run “/usr/sbin/rcoracle start“ to set kernel parameters.
    1) Setup the environment as you would for running Applications on RH 4 or SLES9
    I.E. follow Oracle Applications Installation Update Notes, Release 11i (11.5.10.2)
    http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=316806.1
    2) Remove any LD_ASSUME_KERNEL references in O/S /etc/profile.d files. While in oracle and applmgr .profile, add the following:
    export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libInternalSymbols.so
    3) Comment out LD_ASSUME_KERNEL entries in $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/bin/adgetlnxver.sh and $AD_TOP/bin/adgetlnxver.sh
    if [ ${setflag}x = "x" -a $os = "Suse" ]; then
    # LD_ASSUME_KERNEL="2.4.21"
    # export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL
    os="Suse"
    fi
    if [ ${setflag}x = "x" -a $os = "RH" ]; then
    # LD_ASSUME_KERNEL="2.4.19"
    # export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL
    os = "RH"
    fi
    If doing a rapid install, the database startup will fail and rapidwiz will prompt to ignore or retry. At this point, edit $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/bin/adgetlnxver.sh as shown above and click on retry. It will then run to the autoconfig step at the end and error out. Just hit cancel, edit $AD_TOP/bin/adgetlnxver.sh as shown above.
    At this point, go to $APPL_TOP/admin, and in sid_host.xml,
    replace
    <sun_plugin_ver oa_var="s_sun_plugin_ver">1.4.2_04</sun_plugin_ver>
    with
    <sun_plugin_ver oa_var="s_sun_plugin_ver">1.5.0_10</sun_plugin_ver>
    Then run autoconfig.
    This will allow you to open 11i forms that require Jinitiator in Windows via the Sun Java Plugin in either Firefox or SeaMonkey (the Mozilla replacement) on your Suse 10.2 machine once allowing popups and checking always trust Oracle content on the initial java warning.
    Look at your port pool selections while running autoconfig and comment out any ports for /etc/services and reboot. Port 8201 was preventing apache web pls listener from starting.
    4) In order to relink cplex library executables (MSC, MSO, MSR, MST, WIP, etc), edit $AD_TOP/bin/adrelinknew.sh and add the following LD option (-Wl,--noinhibit-exec) in the LINUX section:
    LINUX)
    LDFLAGS='-s -L$(ORACLE_HOME)/lib -L$(ORACLE_HOME)/lib/stubs -ldl'
    DEBUG_LDFLAGS='-g -L$(ORACLE_HOME)/lib -L$(ORACLE_HOME)/lib/stubs -ldl'
    exe_line='ELF .*executable'
    SHRLIB_LD='gcc'
    LD='gcc'
    SHRLIB_LDFLAGS='-L$(ORACLE_HOME)/lib -L$(ORACLE_HOME)/lib/stubs -shared'
    if test -f "/etc/redhat-release"; then
    CPP_LIBS='/usr/lib/libstdc++-2-libc6.1-1-2.9.0.so'
    elif test -f "/etc/SuSE-release"; then
    CPP_LIBS='/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.2.9'
    else
    CPP_LIBS=''
    fi
    CPP='g++'
    CPP_LDFLAGS='-s -L$(ORACLE_HOME)/lib -L$(ORACLE_HOME)/lib/stubs
    set CPP_LDFLAGS='-s -L$(ORACLE_HOME)/lib -L$(ORACLE_HOME)/lib/stubs
    to CPP_LDFLAGS='-s -L$(ORACLE_HOME)/lib -L$(ORACLE_HOME)/lib/stubs -Wl,--noinhibit-exec'
    After this chance, you can apply any MRP, ASCP patch and all executables will relink correctly. You can also use adadmin to relink all executables and it completes without error.
    5) For Discoverer 4.1.48.08, Follow Metalink Note 280598.1 Discoverer 4i On Linux: Required Patch and Configuration for Discoverer Server Stability to use JDK 1.3.1 and oadj. I updated the autoconfig template files with this change after applying 3895177. Discoverer viewer and plus standard BIS reports all open correctly on SLES-10/Suse 10.1
    6) If you want to apply Developer 6i Patchset 17 or 18 to your 11i system, edit $ORACLE_HOME/forms60/lib/cus_forms60w.mk and ins_forms60w.mk and remove the -Bstatic

    At this point, you can follow the 10gR2 interop note to upgrade the 11.5.10.2 9.2.0.6 database to 10.2.0.2 via dbua:
    Follow the latest 10gR2/11i Interoperability Notes (362203.1)
    Oracle Applications Release 11i with Oracle 10g Release 2 (10.2.0)

    I have relinked every Oracle Home and applications executables without errors.

    Great. The only other setup I would add is if your machine's wired ethernet is ever disconnected, the default setup for OpenSuse 10.2 is to have the interface up when the cable is plugged. In that case, you cannot ping your host if you use static IP address for wired connection and DHCP for wireless. Open YaST, Network Devices. Highlight the wired interface, and select Edit. Then on the General Tab, change the Device Activation from On Cable Connection to At Boot Time.
