Logon to educational IDES

I am able to logon to the educational IDES from home, but when I try to Logon from work I am getting the following error:

I am able to ping 76.195.17.84 from work. What do I need to change/install to be able to connect.

ping that ip from ur home system.if u get response it os okay.if u get requst timed out check the firewal.also check the server is in public ip or private ip.

Hi,
You can change the inside logo of the login screen.
1. Execute the transaction SMW0.
2. Select Binary data for WebRFC Application and press Enter
3. Press Execute
4. Click on Create button
5. Enter the Object Type and Description and click on Import
6. Select required logo path
7. Select $TMP package and click on Save
8. Execute Transaction SM30
9. Enter the Table/View - SSM_CUST
10. Click on Maintain and change the Value for START_IMAGE as <imagefile name with extension>.
11. Save the changes into the transport.
12. Log off and logon to see the changes

Logon to SAP system failed

my system logon failed .
i am not able to logon to my ides system. server is starting but while logging into the system by using user name and passward
the following error is coming
user account not in validity date
some other information is also available
logon to SAP system failed
the system description "NEW" cannot be found in the system list.
Make sure that saplogon.ini exists and choose an existing system description in the system list.

Check with your Basis. Your account validity is expired. Ask them to increase the validity.
The INI also does not exist on your system. Take the file from Basis and paste it on your PC.

Can't replicate datasources in BI 7.0 IDES DEMO

Hi,
I recently installed an IDES DEMO ECC 6 and BI, all modules work perfectly fine in ERP side, I was able to properly configure initial BI set up as well, but every time I tried to check the Data Sources (in RSA1), a message pops up as below:
"There is no application component hierarchy in BW for source system. Do you want to replicate the application component hierarchy now?". --After clicking on YES it shows at the bottom (Application Component Hierarchy for Logsys "T90CLNT090" does not exist).
Within Data Warehousing Workbench: Modelling (RSA1)- Clicked Source Systems then on the right panel I tried Restore, Activate, Replicate DataSources- it appears "Could not activate source system T90CLNT090" at the bottom.
Seems this is a RFC issue which I am not very familiar with. I tried SM59 and Connection Test for T90CLNT090 came with an error.
I need help to resolve this issue and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Ok. Isuue seems to be both the hostname and user id. Check whether the hostname in the connection is what your basis guys have assigned to the system.
Can you do the following additionally:
1. Create a new connection.
2. Enter the connection type as 3
3. In the technical settings tab, in the field target host, enter the IP address of the IDES source system and the system number. These should be correct (you can check the connection details of the ides details from the Logon pad, where you logon into the IDES system).
When you hit enter, then the host name should be determined automatically, which would indicate the system has been set up correctly.
4. Go into the logon and security tab. Enter the language, client and user id and password. The user id should exist in the source system and the password should be correct. You should test by logging into the source system using this login id and pw in Dialog.
5. In the unicode and MDMP tab, select whether the source system is unicode or nonunicode.
6. Save your connection
7. Do a connection test, if it works, then do an authorisation test using the menu option: Utilities --> test --> Authorisation test.
Revert with what happens.

Swithcing java IDE's

I have gotten into javva through school where we used an educational IDE. I'm not sure but so far I have experinced diffculties when using my code outside the educational IDE. I pretty sure we were taught the "actual " java (lol) but the structure might be different. Which means it is going to take some time to learn how everthing "should" be done.
My questions is, Might there be a resource to help speed this transfer, becuase I dont have time to waste fooling around to figure out whats the difference. Thanks!
P.S Im going from "ready to program" ===> (to) "Eclipse"

Are you using the IDE project files from the old IDE in the new IDE?
If so, try creating a blank project in the new IDE and copying just the *.java files into it.
Just a brash thought....

Logon Password Fails Every Time

Hi all,
I have been using this machine (G-4 0SX 10.2) at work for 3 years with the same username and password. We just got our T-line upgraded, and I magically can't logon to this particular machine anymore. I have tried using Norton Systemworks (which found and fixed major errors on two of the Hard Drives) but still can't logon. Any idea why my username and password would just stop working after upgrading the networK?

The first order of business is to uninstall Norton applications, with the possible exception of NAV, if they are installed!

Hopefully your system has not been compromised beyond repair.
Run Disk Repair & Repair Permissions, and report the results.

WD_RFC_METADATA_DEST settings

hello,
I've created a simple java web dynpro and should create 2 JCo destinations
WD_MODELDATA_DEST and WD_RFC_METADATA_DEST
WD_MODELDATA_DEST is ok but I'm having problems creating the second one WD_RFC_METADATA_DEST
destination type should be "dictionary meta data" (I think) but on the tab "Message server"
I can not fill in the system name and logon group
any ideas how to solve this ?
there is another check box "use saprouter" but I don't know the settings there as well ?

User not found in AD

Hi Fella and all,
I've finally complete my wlc setup with IAS as radius server. The setup for one of the user wlan is layer 3 authentication without any layer 2 security.I encounter a problem while authenticating thru web. below is the debug msg from WLC.

The wlc getting result from IAS saying that the cannot find the user entry XXXXXX. User XXXXXX is an domain user account with dial-in option enable.It has been in domain for long and accessible from windows logon. Any ideas about this?
Btw, can anyone link to a reference which show an example on external Windows IAS server with WLC setup for web authentication.I couldn't find any related docs for this on Cisco.

You will need to define a new security policy within the IAS. I have create a manual policy that just verifies the NAS address as the controller address and changed the service type as logging and have delete the Frame size. you also need to allow the PAP authentication depending on how you have configured the controller.
Also if you have corporate access using the same Radius server I would but this policy below that.

SCM and CRM Multiple Clients in one system

Dear all,
I want to ask a question regarding Multiple clients in SCM 5 - IDES and CRM 5 -IDES.
I installed the system and plan to have multiple clients in a system with copying client 800 (IDES) to others.
I heard opinion that it can't possibly be done because if during the exercise the Administrator Workbench is executed it will search to the source client (800) and probably affect the exercise.
Would you mind giving me more suggestion about this?

Hi Fausto,
Could you be more specific about what you need to achive?
You can always creat a new client, logon to the client and do a client copy with TCod SCCL.
If you logon to other IDES clients then You'ld overwrite the content of the client which have been pre-configured.
Check the status of the client you need to overwrite from TCod scc4.
Also to verfiy the status of the target client for TCod se06 -system change option.

ABAP Developer Key Required to Learn for Beginners?

I'm working as a functional consultant in MM, I thought it would be good to start learning ABAP to help me with enhancements, debuggging .. FS creation etc.
We have a sandbox system in our company and I wanted to write some code and start learning, the problem is when I tried creating a program I am prompted to provide a developer key which the company declined to provide since they have to pay for it.
Is there a way to overcome this and start coding or any suggestions?

Hi,
Please consult your basis guy and ask for the IDES system added in your logon pad.
IDES is an environment where every beginner can learn the things in SAP or ABAP. If you want to become a serious developer in SAP the you need to have Developer rights in your login ID. ( Authorization Object : S_DEVELOP). This can also be done by basis guy.

IViews return HTTP 400 message - web page not found

Hello SDN members.
We have encountered a problem with some iViews in our portal, since we installed NW SPS18.
The iViews based on the KM Document iView template no longer work:
u2022     The message in the browser is: u201DHTTP 400 Page not foundu201D. However if we paste the URL from the properties tab of the iView part of the web page in another browser window, the link works.
u2022     When we use the iView inside a page, the iView is working.
u2022     When we preview the iView, it also works.
Additionally iViews of type SAP transaction iView template (SAP Gui for HTML) no longer direct to the appropriate sap transaction u2013 instead the direct to the initial SAP screen (just after logon).
Any ideas?
Would HTTP tracing help? on the ICM? on the J2EE server?

We already gathered HTTP traces on the workstation, the ICM and the J2EE engine. The problem seems to be in the Java WAS. When an entry point is clicked, a POST request is sent and an HTTP 400 reply is recieved. When you copy-paste the link and hit enter, a GET request is sent and an HTTP 200 reply (success) is received. Unfortunatelly we have no previous information on which request method was used before SP18 but we guess that it was only GET. And note [1248135|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1248135] doesn't mention such an issue/change.
A strange thing is that note [1242308|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1242308] describes some similar behavior (we also have trouble adjusting the height of the iview when inside the page) but it refers to WPC which we dont currently use.
Also the page workaround seems to help in the case of the KM document iview, but not in the case of the SAP transaction iview.
Anyway we opened a message with SAP yesterday. I'll post back any feedback we have.

Imac dims unexpectedly

having the odd issue with my late 2012 27' 3.2ghz imac
not regularly but now and then whilst having a few applications open, i find whilst moving the cursor (maybe always in a downward motion - if i remember correct) the screen can dim and a few other things happen
tonioght the screen dimmed, all open applications/pages disappeared off screen and the screen darkened (NOT totally) except for the dock.
a few months ago, a few times one night the screen darkened with a broken line appearing a few inches above the dock - i think a few pages/applications may have dropped under this line - i cant remember too much about what happened these times but the screen definitely darkened, the line appeared and i THINK some apps/screens/pages went under the line - the last bit i'm not 100% sure
this all has only happened 5 or 6 times in 3 months.
i then click on the screen and everything comes back to where it was
i have not touched expose serttings - for what that's worth
when i mentioned it to someone at the genius bar when i took the imac in for pixel issues it was brushed off in a "no idea what that could be"
should i be concerned?
what might this be?
if it happens again how best to take note of this to have apple look at it with an idea of what might be happeneing?
any views / knowledge / experience wquth this issue

i have a mouse and trackpad in operation with my imac - could something be at play between these two.
the issue happened tonight whilst using the mouse after clicking and closing an open page and moving the mouse down
i cant remember if previous occurrences occurred using trackpad or mouse - sorry
any educated ideas /answers appreciated

i'm thinking that maybe what has been haooening is the equivalent to 4 finger downwrd motion on the trackpad -= i'm happy to accept that that might have been previous events and leave that there for now HOWEVER......
the question i have for tonight's shananingans (ie all darkens except the dock) is can the 4 finger downward motion on the trackpad be repicated on the mouse - as that wasa what i was using\\this may be a simple answer and that a relative novice (5 months) is not aware of

How to Randomize Theme?

How can I randomize themes in EP6 SP2?
I'd created 5 different themes and I would like to show a random theme every time a new user logon.

Hi Marcelo,
in my opinion, if you are using EP 6, you can do something like this:
1) open index.htm which is stored in ...j2ee\j2ee_00\cluster\server\services\servlet_jsp\work\jspTemp\irj\root. This is the page which launch portal address at every logon.
2) insert in this page some jscript lines which do this: a)compute a random number from 1 to 5 and then choose a corresponding theme name, you have already created.
b)compose portal starting address concatenating theme name. In other words if you use /irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default?prttheme=<theme id> you can change portal theme at runtime
c)perform a location.replace using this address.
I've never do that but could work.

Tools unavailable in Photoshop CS3

In Photoshop CS3 (as part of Design Suite), sometimes (no obvious change causing it) all the tools become unavailable, both in Photoshop and in Bridge. When I click an icon or use a keyboard shortcut, the options appear (e.g., the brush options for the brush tool, or crop options for crop), but the cursor in the image editing area remains a hand and does not function. Other functions, such as filters, work fine.
There is a FAQ about a similar problem in CS2, relating to a tablet, but I don't have a tablet, only mice.
The problem goes away with a restart of the system (Win XP SP2), though not with a use logoff/logon.
Any ideas?

You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.

Impossible to login due to key repeat (OL 5.7)

Hello all !
When I try to enter my login name in the logon screen on Oracle Linux 5.7, the first key I press is endless repeated, so I can never logon.
Any idea to solve my problem ? I tried a search on the net but didn't found anything similar...

The first key I press is endlessly repeated.The Linux kernel needs a periodic source of regular interrupts, to keep track of time with. Part of implementing key debouncing and deciding that the key event is really a repeating key being held down, all requires time keeping. This is so important that the kernel tries every potential clock source in the hardware. It is possible that the one it picked is only implemented enough to work under Windows. [Sady, yes, this does happen.]
Try intercepting the GRUB menu with a shift key press; if not that key, then something. Press 'e' to edit the entry, and add this to the end of the kernel line:
clocksource=jiffiesPress ENTER and then 'b' to boot.
What this does is select the rather low-precision, but usually reliable, programmable interrupt timer (PIT) as the system clock reference. After the login: screen appears, try logging in. If you can log in, edit the file "/boot/grub/grub.conf" to make the change permanently.
