Logon to VZ router (192.168.1.1) on iphone/ipad

Has anyone been able to logon to their Fios VZ router from their iphone or Ipad?
I can access the router no problem from my PC or my Laptop, but from my ipad or iphone, no luck...
It keeps getting invalid logon...
(I even cut/paste the password so I know it's right)
anybody?
Thanks
Denis

Yes, I have, but with the following caveat; When typing the password, it echoes dots to the screen. First, it echoes 2 dots, but wait a split second for the 3rd dot. Then and only then, enter the next character. Try that, and by all means reply here with your results, so we all can benefit. Also, let me know if it's not the solution for you. Cut/Paste won't work for me also.

  • Cannot bring up the router (192.168.1.1)

Using the WRK54G V2 router - am not able to bring up the router when I call for 192.168.1.1 - I tried clearing the cache, I tried using different browsers (IE6, Firefox), I disabled the firewall, all to no avail: all I get is an error message that reads in part, "timed out." Does anybody know what is going on? Have others reported this problem?

When I go to edit my router settings by typing my IP into adress box, about 50% of the text doesn't even load. I have no idea what the hell is going on or how to fix it. .

  • Router 192.168.1.1 problem

System: OLD wirespeed router/modem combo unit with Ethernet connection to adjacent laptop running Win 7
Sometime ago I changed the DNS address on my computer to the Google DNS servers.
Tonight when I accessed my router at 192.168.1.1 I logged in fine and could access
my profile settings (Vz supplied account ID and vz supplied Pw) but I am unable
to open the Status,Configuration, Troubleshooting, or Maintenance pages. Is this
related to the DNS settings or what else should I check out?
What are the default Vz DSL DNS pri and sec addresses?
    Thanks

I doubt it has anything to do  with DNS settings, the simplest workaround would be to reset the modem. Depending on what model you have .. Westell 6100 ???
    1. logout of the router but leave it powered on
    2. Press and hold the reset pinhole for approx 15 seconds then release
    3. All settings should revert to "factory" then you will have to change the DNS severs and whatever custom settings you had.

  • From BB, cannot get into Router to reconfigure it via browser interface (e.g. 192.168.1.1)

    Hi guys.
INet browsing via WiFi works (BB 9105), but I would like to get into my Router too, to reconfigure it. When I try to access my router, 192.168.1.1, or my ADSL modem (192.168.0.1) I always get the 504 error (Gateway Timeout), which is the same error I get when browsing through BIS.
Of course, through BIS I cannot access my router or modem, but with WiFi it should be possible to access it.
To make sure, I turned off BIS on my 9105.
I also, via a PC, configured the router to allow my BB MAC address to access the router.
Are they not compatible at all?
Or do I have to use a different browser on my BB?
    Thanks for any ideas,
    Tato

    Hello Tato,
I hesitated posting here because I cannot give you a definitive answer, I've looked around and havn't seen any answers to this question specifically either.
What I can tell you however is using my mobile phone browser I have had no problems accessing my router while I am connected through WiFi, saying this I will also mention I use a DLink and am connecting with the same process in my case 192.168.0.1
Sorry, I can't tell you how to get it working, but hopefully this will keep you interested enough in the problem to get it sorted out.
    Hope this helps,

  • I tried to logon to 192.168.I.I as recommended, but got a fail

    Hi,
This is my first post, so please be kind if the post is not placed in the right location.
My home gateway / vivid wireless "4G" account is a few years old, but it seems that the speed is getting slow more often, which is quite frustrating.
Looking on the forum, it is recommended to have a look at RSSI and CINR parameters, so I tried to logon to 192.168.I.I as recommended, but got a fail -1 error when entering logon details.
    I followed http://www.192168ll.website/
    Can you please help?
    Thanks.

Hi webdangol223. First of all, it would be best if you can tell us the model number of your device. It is not clear if you do have a Linksys router because you mentioned about "4G". Anyway, if you do have a Linksys one and you are unable to access its setup page through 192.168.1.1, you may have to check from your Command prompt whether it really has that IP address as sometimed they get changed during the setup. Once confirmed and since you are unable to access the page through that, your last option will be to reset the unit to the default settings. Once done, access the setup page again.
To do the proper reset, please press the reset button on the router for 30 seconds, release the button and unplug the unit. Replug and try to access again.
    Hope the above helps.

  • Can't Access Router Settings via 192.168.2.1

I have recently changed modem/routers as my connection speed was increased recently and the old modem wasn't up to the task... The previous modem/router was preconfigured and I did nothing to it, however the new one requires settings be fixed by accessing it via a browser at 192.168.2.1
When the technician came to check my line and set up the new modem, we encountered a strange situation. Despite being connected by Ethernet cable, my machine could not access the IP address reserved for the router.
The reply is: "Safari can’t connect to the server.
Safari can’t open the page “http://192.168.2.1/” because Safari can’t connect to the server “192.168.2.1”."
We tried Firefox and the same happened.
I have deactivated my firewall, rebooted, changed cables, restarted the router, got Safari to pretend to be Explorer, got the neighbor's dog to bark at it, everything except make a blood pact with the devil, and the two browsers on my machine think that 192.168.2.1 is an external address- which it isn't, and of course fails to connect.
The technician used his laptop to configure the thing, so I can access the internet (obviously) but I must find out why I can't access the router/modem's settings, if only to find some logical reason for this illogical behavior.
I've tried looking this issue up, and I get lots of bad wiring, wireless connection, windows proprietary shenanigans, but none that explain my situation.
I'd appreciate it if someone could help me make sense of this.
    My setup:
Computer Model Name: Power Mac G4 (AGP graphics)
    Model Identifier: PowerMac3,1
    Processor Name: PowerPC G4 (3.3)
    Processor Speed: 1.35 GHz
    Number Of CPUs: 1
L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB
L3 Cache (per CPU): 2 MB
    Memory: 832 MB
    Bus Speed: 100 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: 4.2.8f1
    Sales Order Number: M7827LL/A
    Router: "2-Wire Gateway"

Your advice did the job quite nicely and it seems this is the "natural way of things," but I was totally unaware of it since my previous modems were preconfigured and I never had to muck about with subnets and such things.
What irks me is that this is basic, bare bones information that the Tech support people should have given me right off the bat. Why do they assume I have all the right numbers input into the Ethernet or PPPoE settings? They seemed totally perplexed that I couldn't connect, and frankly so was I- since my old Mac, as decrepit as it is, is still able to kick it with the modern way of things better than most computers I work with.
If they had asked me if I had set the right IP's in the right slots, it could have been fixed in 2 minutes.
Thank you very much for solving my problem, it saves me a lot of stress and confusion.

  • Trouble connecting to 192.168.1.1 & setting up wireless router

I am hoping someone can please help me!! I have a PowerMac G4 and a new 12" PowerBook G4. I received a Linksys router as a gift and I am having trouble setting it up...I have tried connecting to the ip address, http://192.168.1.1 with both Internet Explorer and Safari to no avail. I enter in the address and it tells me the connection has failed. I have tried numerous individuals including Linksys support and have had no luck! Can anyone help me or tell me what I may be doing wrong?
    PowerMac G4   Mac OS X (10.3.1)
    PowerMac G4   Mac OS X (10.3.1)
    PowerMac G4   Mac OS X (10.3.1)

Lets start with some basic stuff.
First Shut your computer clear OFF.
Next pull the power adapter from your Internet
    Service Providers Modem.
Next do the same thing with your New Router, Pull the
    Plug on everything.
Remove any other USB items you might have connected
    Printer scanner, camera.
Now you need to wait for 5 minutes.
    NOW IN ORDER.
Plug the Ethernet cable from your ISP's Modem to your
Uplink port on your New Router.
    Next
Plug the power adapter back in to your ISP'S Modem,
and wait until it re-aqiures the signal, depending on
the brand and who your service is with normally 3
    lights.
Next after you are good on the modem you can plug in
your new Router, again wait for it to get it's signal
and lights. This will normally take a minute or so.
Now you can restart your computer.
After it boots up click on the Safari icon, and see
    if it connects you.
If not go to the menu bar in your browser and type in
    192.168.1.1
This should open the Linksys Utility box that will
enable you to confiqure your network.
Remember you will have to have all of the proper
setting in both your Browser and your Mail program
    for everything to work properly.
Click on the Icon of Safari, and choose Preferences
this will allow you to setup
    The same with Mail.
    Good Luck Don
Hi, Don. Is the ethernet cable from the modem supposed to plug into the router's WAN port or the Uplink port?

  • Connecting to 192.168.1.1 for checking router settings online brings non-English setup?

Bought a new WRT54G vers 6 router to replace a version 3 that died on us recently, and we have had many issues with SBC Global DSL connectivity, but when I go to the 192.168.1.1 site, it isn't in English, but in Italian or Spanish..
I can guess on some issues, but I never had a choice to pick what language this router page setup area would be in. Any ideas?
I could use some help here.

You need to download the correct firmware and upgrade or use tftp.exe.

  • SA 520W VPN problem with 192.168.1.x (WARNING: In order to ensure proper functionality, the router will ...)

I need help. I can find no documentation on this problem. I have a Microsoft Small Business Server which I have been running for some time. I have been using for the last 10 years the private IP space 192.168.1.x, with subnet mask 255.255.255.0. I have an Active Directory structure that is based on this address space with my default route for the network at 192.168.1.254. I recently purchase a CISCO SA 520W appliance. Every time I add a VPN user to the VPN User Database, I get a popup that states "WARNING: In order to ensure proper functionality, the router will need to change its IP address to 10.x.y.1 to avoid conflicts with the remote network. You will need to reboot all PCs and network devices connected to the router. If you have set static IP addresses on any device or if you are using port forwarding, you will need to update its IP address to new IP range to operation. Would you like to continue?" With a se;ection of "OK" or "Cancel". If I select "OK" the router resets and I can no longer get access to it, resulting in me setting it back to factory default and starting over.If I select "Cancel" at this point it does not add the user to the database. I have tried everything I can think of. If I use the default IP address or any other IP address space, as long as I don't use 192.168.1.x, it works fine. This seems to be some limit set by Cisco. Although I can't understand why as the IP space is a very common one in use. Is there any solution except for reconfiguring my DNS, and active directory.
Please respond understanding that I am a mid level capable network engineer, I have worked with CISCO in the past but mainly Enterprise level layer 2 and 3 switches. I am a netwok security person (CISSP) with medium network skill levels.
    Thanks,
    Rich K, CISSP

Wow - that's unfortunate. Hopefully you'll get something out of it for all of the wasted time.
I should have researched this more before I purchased. Silly me - thinking Cisco was the best...
I probably wasted 4-6 hours, if not more, trying to get their QuickVPN client to work. They finally blamed it on my ISP, who I spent plenty of time on the phone with as well. The funny thing that they couldn't explain though, was that it also would not work on my Spring 3G/4G data card. After this test, I wrote the whole thing off to a design flaw.
In the end, I went back and setup a M$ PPTP vpn for the time being, until I have time to figure out a better solution. I only have a couple of remote users anyhow.
Thanks for the response and good luck to you!

  • Macbook pro on wireless defaults to 192.168.2.100 despite router WRT310Nv2 ip address of 192.168.1.1

I can't get my wireless devices to hold a proper IP address and they don't see the correct address for the router. Here's some info:
    Router:
    Linksys  WRT310Nv2
    Router IP Address: 192.168.1.1
    DHCP Server Enabled
    Start IP Address: 192.168.1.100
    End IP Address: 192.168.1.149

    Internet IP Address: 192.168.2.2
    Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway: 192.168.2.1
    DNS1: 192.168.2.1
    DHCP Lease Time 3 days
Mac G5 wired  by ethernet to router has address:  192.168.1.100
Other devices: MacBook Pro defaults to 192.168.2.100 and won't connect. Says it is using DHCP and also says that the router address is 192.168.2.1. I try renewing the DHCP lease and same thing keeps happening. What might I check or change that will ensure I can have a good, consistent wireless connection to this router/modem combination.
    Thanks for any help!

The Linksys router is connected to the embarq 660 modem at the 'internet' port  on the back of the router and to the 'ethernet' port on the back of the modem. The Mac G5 is plugged into one of the numbered ports on the back of the router. Nothing else is connected to the router. The MacBook Pro is a laptop I'm trying to connect wirelessly. I have the modem connected to the wall jack (the DSL connection) and to the router as described already.  I don't think there's anything wrong with the wiring.

  • Can't access three routers through 192.168.1.1, Not address of router. HELP?

Long story here, and I am baffled...
My parents were initially connected to a broadband connection through a wired BEFSX41 router.  After moving the computers to another room had major connectivity issues.  Tried to access router through 192.168.1.1 and could not.  Ran ipconfig and found address to be 76.180.104.1.  Tried reset, power cycles, release and renew, could not get it to go back to 192.168.1.1.  Brought a WRT54G I had over,  had normal results for a brief period(10 seconds tops) then again, same ip address and connectivity issues.  After this I brought both routers home, connected them to my laptop, but not my network, inspected the configurations and updated firmware, with no issues.  So to narrow down issues I brought the WRT54G to my sisters house.  She runs a WRT160N.  Before changing anything I accessed 160N through webpage, checked settings and verified ip through ipconfig to be 192.168.1.1.  All ok.  Replaced her 160N with 54G and had wrong ip address again, also 76.180.104.1, so I decided router was somehow damaged/corrupted.  This is where this story turns really crappy for me.  When I reconnected the 160N,  the ip address was 192.168.1.1 for 15 seconds, then in ipconfig two ip addresses were shown suddenly.  They were 76.180.96.1 and 192.168.1.1.  Ran ipconfig again and got only 76.180.96.1, and now I can no longer access router.
My sister talked to a knowledgeable guy she knows before I hooked it to her computer and he surmised a Google redirect virus which I did sign on to.  But now it seems the 54G router has transferred this virus/issue to my sisters computer, which then uploaded it to her 160N.  Judging by the time delay when initially connecting 54G, I think maybe this virus is somehow corrupting routers?  Does this sound possible to anyone?  And if so, what are my options to save the routers, and not have to re-image computer drives?  Anyone with any knowledge, please help, cause the idea of having to re-image three computers is killing me.  Also I did not leave any of the routers with the original password.  Thank you in advance for your help.

Good. The symptoms you saw (computer gets public IP address) is most commonly because you connect one of the LAN ports of the router to your modem. That way the computer can talk directly to the modem and gets a public IP address.
Sometimes this can happen if the router crashes and won't boot up (often power light is blinking). In that case, the switch in the router won't separate the internet port from the LAN port again giving computers direct access to the modem.

  • VPN Router to Router with 192.168.1.1 WAN address

I have two WRVS4400N routers I'd like to create a VPN tunnel for.
One gets a WAN IPAddress totally external: 75.32.167.xxx from the DSL modem.
The other one is connected to an ADRAN 676 modem.
This modem has an external IP address (67.155.29.202), but assigns address 192.168.1.1 to the connection to the router.
I have the router configured to assign addresses 192.168.0.xxx to all computers on the LAN.
The VPN setup requires to define the WAN address as the external address, but my router only sees address 192.168.1.1 as the external address (coming from the ADRAN modem)
I hope this is not too convoluted and someone can help me. Following is an attempt at illustrating my setup:
    10.10.10.1-->Router1--->75.32.167.147 ---->INTERNET--->
    INTERNET-->67.155.29.202--->ADRAN modem--->192.168.1.1-->ROUTER2--->192.168.0.1
    Thanks in advance
    Rodolfo

You adran modem also operates as NAT router. You have to reconfigure the adran modem for bridge mode. In bridge mode the modem operates like any other simple modem. You then have to configure the router for your internet connection, e.g. use PPPoE with the username and password supplied by your ISP. With that your router will have the public IP address.
Otherwise, you would have to configure port forwarding and IPSec or GRE forwarding on the adran to pass the VPN traffic to the router. However, this may not work at all if the router is not able to handle VPN traffic through your NAT adran modem/router (my guess is it won't do it but I have not tested this).

  • Trying to set up as a router - Changeing to 192.168.0.1

I had a linksys router connectd to my Verizon Fios interface - A wireless router - (that can pick up anything ) - but it died. Got a airport extreme Tried to configure it the same way as a Router handing out ip addresses starting with 192.168.0.1 Thus keeping all traffic comming through the router and not Verizons.
Can i check to see which computers are logged in Allow certain Mac Address and set up Static address for printers lpl ports.
I went through the set up Airport utilites and set up the 192.16/8.0.1 and designated address for the printer and linuxz server but How do i check the actual assigments?

Actually I’ve done this with great success.
I’ve never liked using ISP routers/modems/firewalls for my own network because most the time they lock them down in a way which keeps me from managing my own internal network.
My configuration is an AT&T modem/router then the Apple Router, here’s what I did:
    1.)     AT&T Router/Modem:
    Turn DHCP off
    Turn Wireless off
Open ports YOU need internally to your network in which you require access from the outside. (Port Map).
    2.)     Apple Router:
Instead of allowing your router to obtain DHCP from the outside like you would if it was hooked mainlined into a modem, make it static and enter in the IP subnet established by the AT&T router.  Mine is something like 192.168.1.2, because 192.168.1.1 is the gateway in this particular setup.
Configuring port mapping and service ports in the Apple router.
Then setup DHCP or Static for your internal network.
NOTE:  You’ll have to use two different IP schemes for your home/business NAT, meaning the AT&T to Apple router, in my case, is a 192.x.x.x NAT, but goes no further than this.  The NAT in my network is 10.x.x.x.  This minimizes confusion on the network part, but also keeps you ‘untangled’ when it comes to port mapping, address assignments, and other issues.
If your Verizon router/modem is wireless, you to turn that off and make the Apple router your wireless gateway.
    Message was edited by: Torn-Barb
Let me add this as well: You need to know that the Verizon router/modem you have has to be configured as a ‘dummy’ device.  You’re just using it for the internet connection (TV’s if applicable) and nothing more.  The Apple router will do everything the Verizon device can do and more.

im surprised you can ping without attaching a crossover cable.
because if your only using your console port to connect your pc...then you dont have ip connectivity
i think the cable your using to connect your pc to your router fa port is a straight through ethernet cable....
you see it attaches to a switch port in the back of your home router(not cisco router)
    not a router port.
so you need a different cable depending on how you want to connect to your router.
you can check to see if it is a crossover cable
just peer down the end of the cable you can see the colours...
if they are in the same order on each end...then it is a straight through cable
if they have a different order...then it is a crossover cable
if your connecting to your pc via your home router.
then yes.....you need to plug a straight through cable into your cisco router from your home router
    and it will work
if your connecting your pc directly to your router
then you need to use  a crossover cable from the back of your pc...to your cisco router.
    and it will work

I have a E4200 router v.01 and when i updated the latest firmware (due to security exploit) it seems that whenever i acess the router settings (192.168.1.1) it doesn't ask me nor to input the admin and the password anymore, using wifi or wired.. I want the usual proccess whenever i go to 192.168.1.1 it will ask me to input my admin and password to change my router settings.. any help will do.. thank you....
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

After the successful firmware update, did you reset the router? Well, it is recommended to reset the router after firmware update. Steps to reset the router:
Push the reset button on router for 30 seconds, turn off the router wait for 30 seconds and then power it on. Power light should blink when you perform the reset process.
After reset then try to configure the router and check the status.
