Logout of App World on Playbook

All
I have bought a 2nd hand Playbook from my friend at work but having trouble logging out of his app world and logging in to mine? I have changed account settings in the Playbook settings but still logged in to his app world. Helllllpppppp please
Thanks

When you say you changed Account Settings, are you referring to the BlackBerry ID and Password? (Knowledge Base KB24062)
Did you do a security wipe of the PlayBook? Did you enter you own BlackBerry ID and password? For the Security Wipe you tap the Gear in the top right of the screen, tap Security, near bottom of list tap Security Wipe. This will delete all files except the OS.
Then you have to tap BlackBerry ID which is on the same pane above Security and enter your own info. This should also set up your App Store account which you access with your own BBID and Password.

  • Test Center category in App World on Playbook?

N4BB is reporting that the "Test Center" is showing up in App World on the Playbook. I'm not seeing it as a category in my App World. Are any of you guys? Anyone know how to turn it on so we can help test beta code for RIM?
    Thanks!

I see it on mine, but the only program is an...odd graphics tester that i cant seem to make sense of.  It's meant to be a pre-release area before apps are put into the wild, are you sure your blackberry ID is setup correctly?

  • The App World of PLAYBOOK is missing!

Some days before, i cannot use my app world normally,  it stay at Background image,no application icons came out.
So,i wipe data yesterday, but the app world is missing when my playbook finished the installion, and i update to the lastest version ,i also can not find the app world .
How can i do for my playbook! no app world ,no applications! the playbook will be a mp3/4 player! no!!!!!!!

I also updated to the BlackBerry PlayBook version 1.0.5 Bundle 2304. I used the App World several times to install (and possibly delete) applications.
I installed an app successfully, then I was no longer able to see the icons in App World. All I see is the background image.
After rebooting the PlayBook, App World is still blank. However, the notification icons related to updating apps in App World are present. Clearing the notifications do not change the status of App World. The notifications eventually reappear in the status area. At least one of these notifications are for a program that was previously updated to the alerted version -- the notice still appears after the app was updated. (The app was updated prior to this current problem with App World.)
[Additional Information: My PlayBook was in development mode since I was testing an app I developed. The sample app was signed and I do not have a debug token installed on my machine yet. Disabling the development mode has no change to this problem.]
[Additional App Info: JQuery Mobile App is now a completely blank screen. I tried to update it in App World prior to this problem and was given a message that the PlayBook could not connect with App World. However, soon after this attempt, I was able to download the BlackBerry News and CrackBerry apps. Immediately after installing these apps, I no longer had access to App World -- it is now a background image.]
There does not appear to be a way to erase App World from the PlayBook to reinstall it. A security wipe may be the only way to restore the app.
I will continue to diagnose this problem. Any help would be appreciated.
UPDATE: There is another thread that resolves this topic for some people by typing RST on the App World screen. This does not resolve my problem (even after rebooting). http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-PlayBook/App-World-stopped-working/td-p/1139737

  • Blackberry ID Error Message while want to download paid application from App-World in Playbook.

I am using Blackberry Playbook OS ver. 2.0.1.358 for the last one month, recently I couldn't download paid application from the App-World, playbook responds While download appln.- entering Blackberry ID and PW > Failed Attempt 2/10 The username and password doesn't correspond to the valid Blackberry ID.
I have tried to download again >
Failed Attempt 3/10 The username and password doesn't correspond to the valid Blackberry ID.
Then I closed the application world in my playbook. I had surfed to the Blackberry id web site and used to login. It was successful every time but in the Play book respods error message as mentioned above every time.
What is the crazy Blackberry playbook and what went wrong? Please help me.

If found the workaround on the post Upgrading problem on this forum. Solution is to hit the Refresh List button in app world. Once the refresh completes I was able to update the app.

  • App World for Playbook

I've bought 2 playbooks and I love them - except for app world.  I seem to have no ends of issues with them.
I'm trying to purchase an app but my one playbook currently won't log in.  When asked to sign in it tells me that the password/ID combination is invalid - although the password is correct.  I'm up to my 6th time so I don't want to try any more.  I press forgot pass word and it tells me "Network/Connect Error.  Please check your connection settings and try again."
I can down load any other free app from App world, surf the net, and I can log in on my PC but I just can't do it on my playbook.  I've reset my password on the PC but no change.  I've rebooted twice.
    Any suggestions?
If you find my post helpful please "like" it and "accept as a solution"

Well I connected to my PC via USB and then  backed up everything.   Suddenly I noticed it was asking me continuously to log on on with my Black Berry ID - even when I wasn't in App world.     So I click on app world and everything was working normally - and I could purchase my games with no issue.
So I dunno exactly what happened but if this happens to anyone else I'd suggest connecting to your PC via USB and maybe the problem will mysteriously go away.

  • How do you contact the people at App World (for PlayBook)...

Does anybody know who I need to talk to regarding App World (for the playbook). It really gripes me when you write a constructive review for an app, but the vender then removes it - surely, this should not be allowed (as it can lead to customers being mislead). I wrote the following review for the UK on-device GPS Map app, and guess what, it was removed!
Not as impressed as i thought it would be for the following reasons:1. Incomplete maps - I've lived in my house for over ten years, yet my housing estate doesn't show up on the map (I wonder if this is the case elsewhere???)!
    2. Map scale - When I'm out and about, and zoom into the map, it doesn't always rescale itself; rendering the map useless.
    3. GPS Location - Once the App finds your location, and you then move, it doesn't then replot your movement on the map; to re-establish your position, you have keep repressing the button - very poor!
    4. Finally, the App just keeps crashing! Your using it, then it just switches off.
Considering all the above, and the price of this App (£9.99!), I am really disapointed. Please fix the issues identified or refund asap.
    Cheers...

Possibly the best bet is simply discussing it here.  RIM tends to like such feedback to be filtered through the forum, I presume because allowing much direct contact would overwhelm them (these days, with negative feedback!).  It's also reasonable in that it gives other people here (users like you, and developers) a chance to comment, expand the discussion, correct misconceptions, and so on.  As I understand it, RIM tries to monitor these forums, and in the cases where they may not notice a particular concern, some of the long-time participants have back-channels to escalate serious concerns to their attention.  I'm pretty sure they watch the "big picture", and if enough people complain about something, I'm pretty sure they take notice and engage in internal discussions to decide what to do about it.  (My main problem with this whole process is that they almost never provide any external feedback to us, even to let us know they recognize certain problems.  For example, the PlayBook rapid charger quality problems... it's incontrovertibly a defect, but there's been no sign of any recognition of that on their part.)
That said, I sympathize with you.  I'm disgusted by that map vendor's products and behaviour, as I think they give the rest of us devs a bad name, not to mention "hogging" too much of the space in the Newest and Recently Updated lists, among other things.
I'll note one thing, however, though I don't like the idea I might actually be seen as defending them.  On the map quality topic, those maps are actually using the OpenStreetMap data, aren't they?  (Visit http://openstreetmap.org)  If so, the quality of the data isn't something that vendor has control over... OSM is basically just like Wikipedia, in that the content is almost entirely generated by volunteers, people like you and I, who have chosen to contribute.  (I've edited OSM for my own town, adding many missing roads, fixing spelling errors, etc.)
If that's true, then I think the vendor ought to have made that very clear to their customers.  I'm not too surprised they did not, however, since I believe they knew they couldn't charge people $10 for a poor quality app that was merely giving you access to map data that cost the vendor nothing to provide.
Have you tried contacting the vendor and demanding a refund?  It is possible for developers to request that RIM arrange a refund, as I understand it.

  • Downloading App World to Playbook - problems

Can somebody please assist? I have a  new Playbook but it doesn't have App World pre-loaded. I can't seem to download the App to the Playbook.

  • Would you want your App World Identity Linked Amongst friends on Playbook?

Do you think you would want your friends to know what apps you downloaded, what reviews you wrote, and what games and high score you had for your playbook apps?
The App World is rich with user comments/reviews. Video Chat on Playbook is linked to your unique ID. Yet, the two identities appear separate.
I don't know about you, but I get bored after a while playing some of the games. The ones that are appealing are the games that let you share high score with "users out there."
Do you think it would be appealing to have your voice chat profile linked to your app world activity? The two "worlds" are very separate from each other, and yes, they have their own distinctive function. I think RIM could build a user-world community in App World, if there was a demand for it.
Of course, users could opt out of having their playbook friends know what apps they have.
It was just a thought. It looks like developers get good feedback from user comments. Why not extend that community further?

i think this is a great idea, and it appears to be easy to implement as well.

  • Playbook App World Error

I called Tech Support last night but they were useless.
After updating to 2.0 my App World has stopped working. It says that I am not connected to the network but everything else works. My browser and everything.
I ahve swiped twice. Any ideas?

No, wiping and reloading the PlayBook operating system is not called "swipe" on the PlayBook, hence my confusion of what you've actually done.
Here, in RIM documentation, are mentions of "swipe" referring to using your finger to swipe up or down from the bezel to close or open options and screens.
Article ID: KB26514 Using a wireless keyboard and mouse with the BlackBerry® PlayBook™
Article ID: KB26130 How to customize the appearance of the BlackBerry PlayBook
Here mentions of "wipe" in RIM documentation, referencing to remove all data, etc.:
Article ID: KB27188 How to perform a security wipe on a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet
Article ID: KB26937 How deleting all data from a BlackBerry smartphone affects the connected BlackBerry PlayBook work data
So, I am not sure what you've done. Perhaps it was a 'wipe', but you are free to call it what you want, just helps in here so we know what you're speaking of. I had no idea what your "swipe" will do to your Playbook.
Regardless, do this, go find some free, no-password, WiFi hotspot, like a McDonalds or library, coffee shop, and see if you can see any OPEN WiFi spots, and ultimately connect.
    Thanks.

  • App World login with Playbook

I cannot log in to My World with my Playbook because it insists that my Playbook has a password.  it did have one initially about 6 months ago but I removed it due to the frequency of having to input the login.  To try to self fix this situation, I reinstalled my password but it would not accept it, I removed the app world program and installed.  I did a factory reset of the playbook and reinstalled all my apps...heck I even searched the windows registry looking for and hoping for a line I could remove.  Help a guy out here...what is the fix?
