Logs and Statistics Page in Airport
What does "rotated ccmp group key" mean on Airport routers? What do other saying mean on the logs and statistics page? Thanks helps alot
Your signal and noise readings are excellent; these are numbers in decibel (logarithmic) scale, with 0 (zero) being the maximum; the signal levels reported indicate how much below the theoretical maximum signal strength you are receiving. As a point of comparison, as I type this right now I'm getting a signal of -45 db and a noise of -9 db. Rate, I believe, is in megabits per second (I'm showing 117 at the moment, though it often goes up to 130 or so).

Is there a place where i can find information about NW logs (I assume it's configurable), and if there are any built-in log analysis/reporting tools? I'm trying to determine what information and tools are available to create the following types of metrics:
Task abandonment rate (eg order opened but never saved)
Task completion rate (eg successfully saved an order)
Page load time
Task completion time (eg time to load page+time to complete/save transaction or guided activity)
Are there standard NW tools to derive this ?
thanks in advance,Rakshit,
I know about SAP Logging framework. You can configure logging using Visual Administratorm (Server node-> Services -> Log Viewer). There are tools like standalone log viewer <b>C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\admin\logviewer-standalone</b> to view the logs.
Not sure about the reporting tools.
What's your environment?

Hello all and thank you in advance for all answers and feedback.
I currently manage a peer-to-peer network. I use my G5 server for many uses and now I would like for it to serve as a Print Server as well.
I read previous posts and the Bonjour for Windows is the solution I went for the pc clients. The Mac clients are not an issue at all.
So I've shared a printer, installed it on a pc machine and it prints fine. The only thing I would like for it to do is to log more info on the print jobs that go through the server (number of pages, size of files, etc). The only thing that it has been able to log so far is the ip address and time... nothing more.
I have also read (can't remember where now) that the server is not best configured to track the amount of printing done on it.
Do any of you have a better idea how to track this ? Is there a 3rd party app or a hidden server feature that would allow me to track the jobs in such a way ?
Thank you again !Hello,
Don't know if it's what you need, but as I said in a previous post, I wrote a small program in order to log (and accounting) pages printed.
By default, it rejects print job if you are over quota, but if you have a look in the osxpq script, you can change the line
log_only = "n"
to
log_only = "y"
So it will accept all jobs and will give you this kind of log (in /var/log/osxpq.log):
[2007/06/05 - 12:14:21] mcoudray s211 (job 19129 from 10.23.2.57) 1 copies of 2 pages - ACCEPTED (new quota is 21)
[2007/06/05 - 12:14:33] mcoudray s211 (job 19130 from 10.23.2.57) 1 copies of 4 pages - ACCEPTED (new quota is 17)
[2007/06/05 - 12:16:54] tbrandle s211 (job 19131 from 10.23.2.51) 1 copies of 2 pages - ACCEPTED (new quota is 24)
[2007/06/05 - 12:17:12] tbrandle s211 (job 19132 from 10.23.2.51) 1 copies of 4 pages - ACCEPTED (new quota is 20)
[2007/06/05 - 12:21:58] boucard repro_hp8000 (job 19135 from 10.23.1.156) 1 copies of 1 pages - ACCEPTED (no quota set)

whenever I log in to mum's airport wifi either with my iphone or macbook pro (her aiport express uses wep security) after a few hours it won't work and says connection timed out. The wifi and airport also is invisible to mum's macbook which means she can't login. If I plug her computer or mine direct into her virgin modem - it does work... I can't even find her express in airport utility to reset it any ideas what is going wrong?

I understand that after upgrading your computer when you plug in an ethernet cord you get a hardware malfunction error. I am providing you with a Microsoft Support document: Hardware Malfunction Results in System Error Message that explains what causes that error and provides steps on fixing it. I am also including a link to the Compaq Presario 5300US Desktop PC Drivers page, which unfortunately does not have any drivers for your computer running Windows Vista.
I hope this helps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
Please click the "Thumbs Up" on the bottom right of this post to say thank you if you appreciate the support I provide!
Also be sure to mark my post as “Accept as Solution" if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others who face the same challenge find the same solution.

I Shut down my Mac by holding in the power button after my iMac froze and now when I try to turn it back it on all I get is the grey screen with Apple loge and the timer and doesn't get any further. I have tried the diagnostic test but nothing was found.
Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
To restart an unresponsive computer, press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the power shuts off, then release, wait a few more seconds, and press it again briefly.
Step 1
The first step in dealing with a startup failure is to secure the data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since the last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to start. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
a. Start up from the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.” The article refers to starting up from a DVD, but the procedure in Recovery mode is the same. You don't need a DVD if you're running OS X 10.7 or later.
b. If Step 1a fails because of disk errors, and no other Mac is available, then you may be able to salvage some of your files by copying them in the Finder. If you already have an external drive with OS X installed, start up from it. Otherwise, if you have Internet access, follow the instructions on this page to prepare the external drive and install OS X on it. You'll use the Recovery installer, rather than downloading it from the App Store.
c. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, start the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
d. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
Step 2
If the startup process stops at a blank gray screen with no Apple logo or spinning "daisy wheel," then the startup volume may be full. If you had previously seen warnings of low disk space, this is almost certainly the case. You might be able to start up in safe mode even though you can't start up normally. Otherwise, start up from an external drive, or else use the technique in Step 1b, 1c, or 1d to mount the internal drive and delete some files. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation.
Step 3
Sometimes a startup failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
Step 4
If a desktop Mac hangs at a plain gray screen with a movable cursor, the keyboard may not be recognized. Press and hold the button on the side of an Apple wireless keyboard to make it discoverable. If need be, replace or recharge the batteries. If you're using a USB keyboard connected to a hub, connect it to a built-in port.
Step 5
If there's a built-in optical drive, a disc may be stuck in it. Follow these instructions to eject it.
Step 6
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to start up, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can start up now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
Step 7
If you've started from an external storage device, make sure that the internal startup volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
Start up in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know the login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
When you start up in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, the startup volume is corrupt and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to Step 11. If you ever have another problem with the drive, replace it immediately.
If you can start and log in in safe mode, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then restart as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
If the startup process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
Step 8
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select the startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then restart as usual.
Step 9
If the startup device is an aftermarket SSD, it may need a firmware update and/or a forced "garbage collection." Instructions for doing this with a Crucial-branded SSD were posted here. Some of those instructions may apply to other brands of SSD, but you should check with the vendor's tech support.
Step 10
Reinstall the OS. If the Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
Step 11
Do as in Step 9, but this time erase the startup volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically restart into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer the data from a Time Machine or other backup.
Step 12
This step applies only to models that have a logic-board ("PRAM") battery: all Mac Pro's and some others (not current models.) Both desktop and portable Macs used to have such a battery. The logic-board battery, if there is one, is separate from the main battery of a portable. A dead logic-board battery can cause a startup failure. Typically the failure will be preceded by loss of the settings for the startup disk and system clock. See the user manual for replacement instructions. You may have to take the machine to a service provider to have the battery replaced.
Step 13
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider. -

Tried purchasing music from the iTunes Store. When the window popped up I put in my apple id and password. Then I was directed to a 'Terms and Conditions' page. I checked the box next to the 'Yes I agree to these terms and conditions' - then clicked the 'accept' button next page read 'Your Session has timed out. Try again.' with a 'Done' button to click on. Oh the same thing happens when i try to download free iTunes. Yes I have tried & tried it again I even logged off and singed back in-- no joy
After accessing my iTunes account I was not able to change anything like my credit card number when I tried and was sent right to the 'Your session has timed out. Try again.'
The last time I purchased any anything was on September 25th 2011 and the 'terms & conditions' page was last updated on October 12, 2011
Does anyone have an idea to what is going on with my iTunes version 9.2.1 (5) and I can not upgrade to a higher version my iMac does not have the intel processor chip.Thank you for your time and help with this matter. You are greatly appreciatedI am having the same problem also! I posted on here about it, but no one has responded with ideas. I called technical support and e-mailed them, the only suggestions they gave was for the to turn off my firewall. But I didn't change anything, so it shouldn't suddenly stop working. Maybe this is just an iTunes issue? But it doesn't even recognize my account anymore, and I cannot log in now.
If you happen to get an answer, will you please let me know what works for you?
Thanks! -

Please elaborate on what exactly you mean by it "won't open".
Do you try to launch it and get an error message from the Finder (for example, something like "This application is damaged and cannot be launched....")? Does an icon for the application ever appear in the Dock when you try to launch it? Does it start to launch and then immediately crashes (Finder will display an "unexpectedly quit" dialog)? Or does it start to launch and never seems to "finish" launching (in other words, it basically hangs and is unresponsive)?
If the application crashes, please post the contents of the crash log here.
Otherwise, if the application seems to be hanging, can you, before attempting to launch it, open the Console.app application (it's in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder), and see if anything is reported when you attempt to launch it? If so, please post it here. -

I looked at the system log and found this weird error that does not occur in any other computers system log
i got this last night

I upgraded to 10.4.5, but the system log of the restart still has the family issues
the machines is a dual 2.0 G5 with 4 gigs of ram, 2 firewire externals, a fire wire 800 card, a lacie s2s, and an iternal raid, plus an extra ethernet cardI don't have enough info to even venture a guess. Is anything else having problems? Is there any other 3rd party hardware? Have drivers been installed/deinstalled/updated? Are there any related messages while the machine is running, or only at boot?

When I change the log location in ColdFusion Administrator it changes the location of most but not all the log files. I have a requirement from my customer to place all log files on a separate partition on the server. For ColdFusion 9 I was able to modify the registry settings to change StandardOut and StandardErr for the ColdFusion Jrun service. This does not appear to the case for ColdFusion 10 which now uses Tomcat 7.
I tried modifying log4j.properties file and was able to relocate the hibernatesql.log, axis2.log, and esapiconfig.log but not the coldfusion-out.log.
I am running ColdFusion 10 Enterprise Edition on a 64-bit Windows 2008 Server. The location of the rest of the ColdFusion logs can be changed in the ColdFusion Administrator. Go to the Debugging and Logging section, Logging Settings. There is a form at the top of the page where you can change the log storage location.

I have a silverlight application. It has containing many navigation pages in it. One of this pages is containing an .aspx page and i have used devexpress scheduler on there. It is working perfect on development machine but on production machine when client
logged and navigate to the scheduler page there is a message top of the page saying
webbrowser is enabled only for out-of-browser applications running with elevated permissions in Internet Explorer.
And i have found something like that
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg192793(v=vs.95)
But I think my problem is not that in my project properties i always checked the require permission checkbox. i couldnt understand this behavior and how can i solve. I tryed to use .pfx file by adding in project properties signing tub. Even i couldnt understand
how why are we using this certificate and is it interesting with it
Also now i seen in my development machine when i opened this page a popup window come up this message:
the current webpage is trying to open a site in your trusted sites list. Do you want to allow this?
current site: res/npctrUI.dll
Trusted site: localhost
warning allowing this can expose your computer to security risk. If you dont trust the current page, choose no.
regards
Hamit YILDIRIMThings that require elevated trust will always work in visual studio.
You need elevated trust to use the webbrowser inside a Silverlight page on a user's machine.
That means purchasing a security certificate.
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg192793(v=vs.95)
You can open up any old web page in another tab from Silverlight and I would suggest you consider that instead of using a webbrowser control inside a Silverlight page.
Hope that helps.

HR iViews are not getting displayed and showing "Page can not be found".
Hello,
I am facing an issue in the EP 7 wherein all the standard HR iViews are not getting displayed and showing "Page can not be found".
We have added S_SERVICE autorisation object to user used for the relative JCO as well by looking at other similar forums but that did not help.
I have attached last part of log from file application.log under "F:\usr\sap\EP1\JC01\j2ee\cluster\server0\log"

Edited by: Suhas Khatkale on Jul 8, 2009 10:09 PMHi,
This issue is now resolved. We followed up with SAP and they suggested to update the component EP-PSERV to latest patch which was earlier to patch 1. Later on we upgraded it to patch 4 and this resolved the issue.
Thanks

I have had this happen to myself. When the Wiki is having performance problems, articles can be created or updated, but meta data
is not updated properly. Sometimes this can be fixed, sometimes not. This issue is of major concern, but there is no fix yet.
