Logs link in App Server control

Hi,
I have installed OAS 10g 10.1.3.1 and facing a strange issue. The "Logs" link is not active on my AS Control page.
Please help.
Thanks,
AP

Do you mean the overview screen?
The link becomes active as soon as you enter one of the started components.
This is the default behaviour I see on my servers.

  • Can't log out of App Server

    Sun Java System Application Server Enterprise Edition 9.1 (build b13)
    We have several EARs running against Sun App server and using Container Form based authentication.
    In the applications, we have a Logout link. The Logout link triggers an action in the application, and that action invalidates the user session. It then forwards them to our "index.jsp" which is controlled by the servlet security settings.
    But the problem is that the user is not "logged out". When they hit the index.jsp, it does not prompt them for a login, not does it prevent them from going anyplace in the application.
    Any ideas as to why the container does not log them out? We do have SSO enabled in the app server. Is there a better technique for logging a user out?

    I have fixed it...The solution was to reboot the iPhone.  Shut it down, turned it back on, and then the problem apps went away.  I had to resynch them from iTunes.

  • No 'Connection' link in Application Server Control

    Hi,
    Using Application server control(OEM 10g) to create public/private connection so that the discoverer viewer will be able to us this connection to connect to multidimensional data source(OLAP).
    As a discoverer administrator When i browse... discoverer > administration>.. i can see only 'services logging' link but no 'connection' link to create a link.
    An help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    SA

    Resolved the issue.
    There are 2 types of installation.
    1. BI standalone installation (i.e. installed from an Oracle Business Intelligence standalone CD with no associated OracleAS infrastructure)
    2. BI associated installation (i.e. installed from an Oracle Business Intelligence standalone CD and associated with an OracleAS infrastructure)
    with the first installation the connection link is not available.
    You can associate a Discoverer instance with an existing OracleAS Infrastructure during the post-install process.
    Thanks

  • HTTP 500 error when opening "App Server Control" (EM) in OAS 10.1.3.5.0

    Hi,
    I have some (but not much) experience with OAS and am currently stuck. So hope to find someone who can help me further here.
    When i open Oracle Application Server Control from the SOA Suite 10.1.3.5.0 home page i get most of the times an HTTP 500 error.
    Initially i got this even when i opened the login page (/em) but worked around this by increasing the ThreadsPerChild from 100 > 250 in the httpd.conf and replacing the loopback adres 127.0.0.1 in the dms.conf for the virtual host configuration to the actual (fixed) ip-address.
    The current situation is that when i restart the environment (opmn stopall & opmn startall) i can open the the EM login page.
    After logging in om the Enterprise Manager, the page is partly loaded and a HTTP 500 error is shown when i refresh the page.
    The apache log files now still shows the following errors;
    [Tue Sep 07 15:46:19 2010] [error] [client 10.157.1.68] [ecid: 1283867060:10.150.50.110:10312:9568:5,0] mod_oc4j: Failed to find a failover oc4j process for session request for destination: application://ascontrol (no island or jgroup).
    [Tue Sep 07 15:51:20 2010] [error] [client 10.157.1.68] [ecid: 1283867060:10.150.50.110:10312:9568:5,0] mod_oc4j: request to OC4J SOA-WTST:12501 failed: Connect failed
    Any hints ?
    Kind regards,
    Peter

    If finally found the cause of the problem, lack of PermGen space for the home instance;
    When opening the EM Console most of the times i was able to open the login page, under stress opening this page failed most of the times.
    The ascontrol-application.log pointed me in the right direction;
    10/09/07 15:26:59.111 ascontrol: Servlet error
    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space
    When monitoring the PermGen of the home instance, is showed that the system was running out of PermGen space.
    Increasing the PermGen size for the home instance in opmn.xml did the trick
    <data id="java-options" value="-Xrs -server -XX:MaxPermSize=128M......"

  • SQL Portlets - Executing across db link from app server db to DataWarehouse

    Hi
    We are using Ora App Server 10.2.
    Discoverer Portlets saved on app server db, execute their SQL direct to our DataWarehouse (Oracle 9r2) and this works fine.
    However, when we use SQL portlets, the SQL has to be coded with db links from our app server db to our Datawarehouse. This is not ideal.
    Does any know how you can use SQL Portlets without using db links?
    Thanks
    Colm

    Try creating your portlets as java providers using jdbc instead of in PL/SQL.
    Cheers,
    Mick.

  • Links to App Server Documentation Broken

    None of the app server documentation links work. Did you move the links or is there a problem with the server?
    Appreciate if you would address this quickly.

    They work fine for me...clear your browser cache and re-try.

    I did not do any configuration setting after JWSDP is installed and i found this error.
    Can someone help me please.
    Thanks a lot
    Lacon

    I just realise that there is an enterprise appplication deployed and the setting of configuration > security > message security > soap has the clientProvider and serverProvider activated.
    when i turn off the soap security setting, the problem goes away.
    sorry about that.

    C:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\opmn\bin>opmnctl validate opmn.xml
    LPX-00202: could not open "opmn.xml" (error 200)opmn.xml isn't in $OH/opmn/bin directory. It's in $OH/opmn/conf.
    This is quite difficult to debug from this forum. Check the logs in $OH/opmn/logs and see if that helps. Also try to shut everything down (and check that all processes are gone) and then try to restart.

    Martin

  • WS not created in application server control after deployment

    Hi,
    I just tried to deploy fulfillmentESB project(SOADemo Projects) from Jdev to Oracle App server control. But there was no webservice created in Oracle application server control under webservices link....plz help me...
    Actually the steps which i had followed to deploy that fulfillment project are:
    * right-click fulfillmentESB
    * select Register with ESB, Integration connection
    after which the fulfillment webservice can be seen in ESB control as well as application server control. But i could not able to see webservice created in application server control.
    Also i tried deploying the fulfillmentESB using EAR file - no use
    So kindly give me some steps to solve this issue...
    -Indhu

    Here is an example of the two steps required to deploy a Web Service application, using the ant task for the 10.1.3.x release.
    <project name="CalculatePrice" default="all" basedir="." xmlns:o="antlib:oracle">
      <property file="build.properties"/>
      <property name="deployeruri"        value="deployer:oc4j:${oc4j.host}:${oc4j.admin.port}"/>
    <!--
      <property name="deployeruri" value="deployer:oc4j:opmn://${oc4j.host}:${oc4j.opmn.port}/home" />
    -->
      <property name="bindweb.website" value="default-web-site"/>
      <property name="app.name" value="sdots"/>
      <target name="deploy">
        < o :deploy file="${basedir}/dist/${app.name}.ear"
                  deploymentname="${app.name}" deployeruri="${deployeruri}"
                  userid="${oc4j.admin.user}" password="${oc4j.admin.password}"/>
        < o :bindWebApp deploymentname="${app.name}" deployeruri="${deployeruri}"
                      userid="${oc4j.admin.user}" password="${oc4j.admin.password}"
                      webmodule="webservice-web" websitename="${bindweb.website}"
                      contextroot="/sdots"/>
      </target>Not sure if this applies to your specific scenario.
    ps. cross posting on the different OTN forums is generally not a good idea as you get threads out of sync. In this specific case, you are running into an issue with a specific ESB demo, and the ESB-SOA forum is definitly a better palce to get specific help.
    WS not created in application server control after deployment
    ps2. I guess you should got it by now, as I am not the first one to make this comment.
    Webservice not created in oracle application server after deployment
    ps3. We still don't have details about the versions you are using and the specific about THE SOADemo Projects - provide the information someone else would need in the forum that best correspond to your issue; the SOA one in this case ;-)

  • App server shutdown

    Hi,
    I'm trying to find out the root cause of the unplanned application server shutdown that happened in our production system.  I was browsing through the dev_w* and dev_disp files and found nothing unusual except for the log below, which I found in dev_disp.old file:
    <b>Mon Oct 29 01:56:03 2007
    DpSigInt: caught signal 2</b>
    This was the last log when the app server shut itself down.  Can anyone tell me what the above log means?  And which other logs or trace files can I look for to help me find the root cause?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Kris Caldoza

    Thanks Markus.
    Below are the only logs I found in dev_disp (aside from the Signal 2 log) which were generated at the time of the shutdown:
    Mon Oct 29 01:56:06 2007
    ***LOG Q0M=> DpMsDetach, ms_detach () [dpxxdisp.c   8415]
    MBUF state OFF
    MBUF component DOWN
    Mon Oct 29 01:56:07 2007
    ERROR => DpRqIQRemove: ShmDelete [dpxxqueu.c   430]
    Mon Oct 29 01:56:08 2007
    ***LOG Q05=> DpHalt, DPStop ( 29771) [dpxxdisp.c   7280]
    I believe it was a normal shutdown, don't you think?

  • Problem in starting Application Server control

    Hi,
    I have installed Oracle BI. But when Iam trying to configure the discoverer catalog, I could not able to connect to the Application server control. Please advice with which login credentails I need to login to the Application server control.
    Thanks
    venkat

    To connect to the App Server control, you need to login with the id ias_admin. The password is whatever you specified during the installation process. The port number to use would have been displayed at the end of the installation process.
    Help on how to configure the Discoverer catalog is available in Ch 6: "Configuring the Discoverer Catalog and Discoverer Plus OLAP", of the Oracle® Business Intelligence Discoverer Configuration Guide, 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.0), Part No. B13918-02, available at http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_09/bi.1012/b13918/disco_catalog_config.htm#CJAHAHGH

    Hi Andy
    I think the only way to get the memory back is to bounce the server. Sorry.
