LOL - Post Rejected - 2 Years Later!

Today I received, in my eMail, a rejection notice.  God only knows how these things happen, or why it never appeared in the forum to help the user who was having problems.  Perhaps the word "extension" did it in.
Hello,
You have received this email because the content you posted below has been rejected by our moderators.
Re: Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file

It's just that it's hard to believe that you didn't actually mindlessly type the extension instead of selecting the format (or after accidentally selecting the wrong format), and I don't think any amount of discussion or reassurance can dispel that possibility.  I've certainly done things like that myself.  The only thing I have to go on is the fact that I've used Photoshop for almost 2 decades and it just hasn't done what you say you're seeing, saving a file with a format different than selected or unexpectedly overwriting a file.
I assume you have turned on file extension visibility in Explorer.
What you might want to do:
1.  Go into Edit - Preferences - General, and check the [ ] History Log setting.  Choose Text File, and set it up to keep a detailed Photoshop Edit Log.txt file somewhere you know to look on your hard drive.
2.  Repeat the sequence 100 times as you stated.
3.  If you see the failure, open your Photoshop Edit Log.txt file in an editor, isolate some of the text (at the end) where the problem was NOT and WAS seen as well as the part where the file wouldn't open.  Perhaps that can help you prove it wasn't user error.
4.  Submit all of the information to Adobe via this site: http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family
Also, if you have something unexpected happen, do a sequence of screen grabs.

But it's a good thing that Adobe let me know it was rejected, so that I could rephrase it.

Yes the term "extension" is considered spam tag and recently added to
the Adobe list of prohibited words because some spammers are pedaling
extensions for body parts on these forums!!!!!!!!!.
I use extensions quite a lot in Dreamweaver and David Powers (senior
moderator on Dreamweaver forums) rejected many of them. It is all part
of everyday life in these forums.  I continue using the term all the
time and sometimes it goes through and most of the time it doesn't.
Let's see if this goes through.

  • 'You can post in new year only after closing the previous year

    Hello Experts,
I am also getting same error while executing depreciation run AFAB ''You can post in new year only after closing the previous year''.
I found one OSS Note 18800 and it is saying solution as below ...
At the first depreciation posting in the new fiscal year after a shortened fiscal year, the fiscal year variants must, in all cases, still be entered in asset customizing and in FI customizing for the affected company code. If necessary, all periods for the following fiscal year must be maintained with the variant of the shortened fiscal year.
Up to 2.2D the following correction must also be installed:
Please carry out the syntax check only in main program SAPLAFAR.
But in my case there is no shortended fiscal year.
Can I apply this OSS note correction instructions ?
    Please suggest me.

    Hi
I don't think so. Moreover that is applicable till 2.2D.
Moreover depreciation is to be run for all periods you have not run earlier. Please check upto which period dep run has happened. Thereafter close the fiscal years in order thro AJAB.

For future books you might consider doing what I do:  create a separate library for each book andcopy the photos for the book from your working library to the book library with iPhoto Library Manager.
When the book is completed and ordered burn the library package to a CD, DVD or external HD to archive it so it's available for editing and reordering at a later date if needed.

  • Depreciation run problem."You can only post in new year after closing the"

    Hi,
We are implementing Asset accounting to one of our co code.New Assets were created in Jan and when I tried to Post depreciation for Jan, I get an error log that says "You can only post in new year after closing the previous year."
When i double click on error message.
    Diagnosis
You want to post in a new fiscal year. However, a posting must have been made in the last period in the previous fiscal year before you can do this.
    Procedure
Post to the last period in the previous year first.
So I went ahead and opened the previous year, posted the depreciation, closed the year and tried to post Period 1 again, but still get the same error.
Why do I need to post the previous period if I just created the assets in this period?
I Have completed AJRW, AJAB also.
I think it may be a problem with Table. Please suggest me.
    Thank you

    Hi,
    Please check the following :-
    1. Check the Last Closed year in your Asset Accounting.
    2. Check the Last Depreciation Posted in Your Asset Accounting.
These 2 menus are available in "Data Transfer in Fixed Asset Accounting".
revert back to me for further actions,

  • Macbook Air 13" 2008 6 Years Later.

I am considering a Macbook Air 13" vs Macbook Pro 13" w/ Retina Display.
Basically, I can see that the Macbook Pro 13" w/ Retina Display is way more powerful in CPU speed. I would like to buy a laptop that will still be valid in computing performance 5-7 years on.
My question is, for those users who are using the Macbook Air 13" from 2008 (the first one), how is it running now, 6 years later? Is it still fast enough for normal use? I don't game, I may webcam every now and then with family, friends, gfs, etc., but I am not a heavy gamer.
So, please let me know how you guys like your Macbook Airs from 2008! Thanks in advance.

It's beyond me why anyone would consider puchasing a computer that is so old.  And when you say "I would like to buy a laptop that will still be valid ... 5-7 years on", I strongly suggest you abandon that thought.  Five years in a computer lifetime is now an eternity.  The original MacBook Air is not even capable of running the current operating system (Mavericks).
You should purhcase as new a computer as you possibly can.  Age is even more more important than processor speed.  The second most important thing after age is the amount of memory.

    Hey Armando Stettner,
Thanks for the question, and what a great question it is!
With time zone support on, you can edit an individual event and change the time zone for that event. This list will include options for your default time zones, UTC, and "floating" - the latter of which is what you are looking for. Floating changes the event to occur at the specified time, local time.
For information on changing an event's time zone, see the following resource:
Calendar: Change an event’s time zone

I look forward to hearing how this works for you.

  • Asset You can only post in new  year after closing the previous year

    Hi Experts,
I am getting below error while running the depriciation:
You can only post in new  year after closing the previous year.
    Message no. AA687
    Diagnosis
You want to post in a new fiscal year. However, a posting must have been made in the last period in the previous fiscal year before you can do this.
    Procedure
Post to the last period in the previous year first.
Note : I closed FY09, even though there were no assets in it at the time.  The first  asset was capitalized on 12/29/09 (clearly in FY10).  I tried closing FY09 again and got the messege  No year-end close is necessary for company code XXXX .
Could you please any one help me on this.
    Thanks In Adwance
    Regards,
    Saritha.

    Hi Saritha,
    Please check the following settings:
o Is there one ore more years since the last depr. run?
Solution: in this case an entry must be made into the table TABA.
                      Note 144441  gives a solution to make a "Dummy-entry".
o If there was never a depreciation run, the there must be 000/0000 in
      TABA and T093D.
Solution: please take the report from the note  Note 144441
and put the values  000/0000 in this fields.
o Do you  have a non-calendar fiscal year (e.g. 2009/10)? In this case
you should have in the field T093D-AFBLG the year 2010.
        Solution: Correction with note 26073

I have a license for Creative Suite CS3 and bought an upgrade for CS5 a few years later. Would the original serial number for CS3 be the same for my CS5 version?

No... if you do not have CS3 installed, you will enter your CS3 serial number when asked for proof of a qualifying product... and then you will enter your different CS5 serial number... every version, new or upgrade, has a unique serial number

  • You can only post in new year after closing the previous year.

    Hi,
I got error "You can only post in new year after closing the previous year." when I tried to run depreciation for first time for a company.
In OAAR, it was noted that FY2008 already closed.
    Please advice.

I understand you did the asset upload in 2008 and want to run the first depreciation run for 2009?
In that case have a look in your take over data settings: SPRO:
Financial Accounting / Asset Accounting / Asset Data Transfer / Parameters for Data Transfer /  Date Specifications / Specify Transfer Date/Last Closed Fiscal Year
This should be 31-12-2008 (if the calendar year is the same as the fiscal year)

    Hi Deepanshu,
Also the FI period is also closed 2013 so in this case do i need to open the same , correct? for running dep posting along with OAAQ opening for AA.

  • Two years later, a random, hopeless e9105z PC from Hewlett Packard with continual freezes.

I posted a message over a year ago with no luck, and wanted to see if a second posting would give any advice.
In short, my PC freezes randomly, with no predictability or triggering events.  The only thing that happens is the system locks up, the mouse pointer is frozen on the screen, and the system is essential unuseable.  All I can do is a hard power down.
Over the 100+ freezes I've had, here are some odd things that have happened:
    (1) Around 30% of the time, pressing F8 to run system diagnostics fixes the problem.  When I run system diagnostics, 90% of the time, the system comes back perfectly clean.
    (2) Of the times that systems diagnostics has been run, here are the errors that have been found:
--several times, it warned me that my Western Digital 640GB HDD was about to fail
--two times, it warned me that I had no boot path
--two times, it warned me that my Intel X-25M SSD was on the fritz
    (3) Sometimes I can turn back on and be okay, other times, I have gotten something to the extent of 'boot sector missing, press Ctrl-Alt-Del to reset'
    (4) system has been unplugged/replugged several times, motherboard dusted off, SATA connectors unplugged/replugged, etc.
    (5) the system sometimes will fully boot up in Safe Mode, other times it just freezes up during the initialization.  when it does hang in Safe Mode, it does not get hung up on the same file twice.
    (6) For Windows Update, the NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller June 2009 driver update crashes my system.  I have to do a system restore.  This update is hidden/disabled in the Windows Update profile
Recently the freezes are happening once every 1-3 minutes every time I turn on.  They used to go once every 2 months, then maybe once every 2 weeks.  Tonight, oddly enough, my computer has worked for over an hour without problem.
HP's tech support has been useless.  It seems like they are more or less following a flow chart that has little applicability to this situation.  Telling me that my printer and Microsoft keyboard were the problems.  (Really?  Am I that stupid?)  They succeeded in gringing me down over the phone.  And besides, I'm out of warranty.
Is this most likely a bad motherboard, or an NVIDIA chipset bug, or a Windows 7 compatibility issue?  I have no idea where to start (or end) in this problem.
    My configuration:
    Win7 clean install
    6GB memory (Stock)
    Phenom II X4 945 (stock)
    Intel X-25M primary/boot
    Western Digital 640GB HDD (stock)
    Microsoft mouse
    Microsoft keyboard
A printer that is hooked up about 30% of the time (Lexmark X8350 POS)
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,

I am having a similar issue with random freezes/hangs as many posts with my Pavilion Elite m9350f that I bought a year ago or so.  I have automatic update turned on and have gone to HP and MSFT sites to ensure all drivers/software are current.  I have also attempted to clear the fan and heat sinks of lint.
This has been a chronic issue since the PC was new that has good days and bad.  On good days I will not see a crash at all.  Bad days, the PC will randomly hang every 5 minutes or so EVEN when cold, while in BIOS setup, and operating in safe mode.  The software applications I use don’t seem to be relevant (they are limited to Office Pro 2010 and StarCraft II).  The typical “crash” is a hang that freezes the display and all user I/O.  USB ports will often power down (laser mouse light will often turn off as does PS2 keyboard).  I also don’t hear the buzz of the hard drive (it appears to spin down).  I do hear the fans even after a hang.  A power cycle is needed to reboot and bring the PC back online.
The ‘crashes” seem to corrupt data on the HD.  As a workaround to fixing this issue, I reinstalled/repaired Vista several times because as time from install increased, it seemed bad days became more prevalent.  Then, three months ago, because the PC crashed too hard to reload/repair vista, I installed Windows 7 and replaced the hard drive.  When I attempted to attach the faulty hard drive as a secondary drive, my PC would not boot (faulty drive was confirmed?).
Now with the new OS and HD, I am seeing the same problem again.  Like you I am running out of ideas.  I took the PC in for troubleshooting with the GeekSquad where they kept it for a week (three days longer than planned) to run several virus scans and hardware diagnosis programs.  All test passed.  The tech claimed to not duplicate a crash so I thought maybe it was my keyboard and mouse.  I bought new keyboard and mouse on the way out of the shop.  When I got home, the hangs continued…another bad day.  The event log recorded several crashes while the PC was in the shop…I hate being told lies.
My PC Event viewer logs close to 50,000 events most of which mean absolutely nothing to me.  I am unable to find events that appear prior to the 41 and 6008 recovery error notices that might signal a cause.  However, I am getting many instances of Event ID 12 with indicates “The platform firmware has corrupted memory across the previous system power transition.  Please check for updated firmware for your system.”  I assume this means to look for an update to motherboard BIOS?  I am working on finding the right BIOS now.  I don’t believe it likely a BIOS update will fix the hang issue.
Reading through the forums, I see this issue on many different PC models configured with many variants of software.  Like you I don’t have my PC working correctly yet.  Maybe we just need to accept that we bought a lemon and start replacing parts?  I’m thinking power supply and motherboard…

  • Prior year planned depreciation never posted. How to post in current year?

    Hi Experts,
Planned Depreciation was not posted in 2010. Is it possible to post that in 2011? What all steps are required?
When I execute AW01N for the asset in question, system gives error "Message # AA669 - Fiscal year 2010 is already closed in Financial Accounting.
I checked OAAR the last closed fiscal year is 2009.
I executed AFAB in 'Test Mode' for Period 12, 2010, system gives error message "Period 12 is already posted".
    Your inputs will be appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rachana

    Dear Rachana
The long text of error AA669 is very clear about the root cause of the
    error.
The idea behind the message: it is not allowed to close first general
ledger before subleger. This leads to inconsistencies. It is common
accounting principle to always close the subledgers first and only
then close the general ledger (FI-GL).
The solution is: re-open fiscal year in FI-GL (txn OB52) and follow the
    steps from note 619969.
    o  RAAFAR00
    o  RAPOST2000
    o  RAPERB2000
    o  RAJABS00
If it is not possible to open the fiscal year because audit has already
been completed: workaround (which is not quite correct from the legal
point of view) is the report RACORR20_A from note 29694.

  • Mass change of posting date/fiscal year in LIV parked invoices

    Hi,
We have OSS note 99775 (program ZFSAP2_B) for mass changing posting date and fiscal year for FI parked documents but I can not use this to change posting date for LIV parked invoices.
Did anyone have any idea how to mass change the posting date of LIV invoices? any NOTE or PROGRAM?
I tried to create a BDC using FBV4, which in turn calls MIR4, but system is over writing  initial line item amount and qty from PO.
I can read initial invoice line item values and over write again but I dont think this is how I should do.
    Please advice.
Thank you all and best Regards
    Vijay Goli

    Hi
Thank you very much for your input.I modified the program ZFSAP2_B given by sap and it worked fine for LIV invoices also.
When I used this program  in 2007 for FV60 documents the document key was changed without raising the event FIPP.CHANGED. But this year when we changed the posting date the system triggered the CHANGED event and as a result of this event the workflow came to the starting point. We did not make any chages to workflow template during 2007. Any idea what could have casued this event to trigger?
    Thanks
    Vijay
